Aster waved him off. "Aw, I'm sure yer not all that bad. I'm gettin' better, bit by bit, by messin' around with cookin' Apricorns into Poke Balls. It's a weird business, t' be sure. I'm mostly good at bakin' an' soup, myself." She zoned out for a moment or two, thinking about a thick, hearty beef and vegetable stew, and was startled by her own stomach rumbling loudly. "Gee, I hope we get there sooner than later, or I'll have t' eat some o' my own berries!"
It was sort of a joke, considering how precious the fruits were for planting once she got back home to do so. That was the only way she knew of to produce more berries of any kind, and to cross breed for better, rarer ones; it was hard for her to even consider using her berry supply on her Pokemon unless she had at least one of each kind she had left for planting reasons.
"Uh.. Speakin' o' food, what d'ya like t' eat? A good stew is soundin' mighty good t' me right now."
Marley gave a small chuckle. "From what I heard, berries can be good when they're thrown into a curry. Though workin' out which ones to use is the tricky part." Indeed, curry was a hot topic in Galar. Perhaps he should give cooking it a try. But perhaps after some study on the matter first.
When the topic came to what Marley liked to eat, and the lanky man thought about it for a moment. "Well, in all honestly, I consider myself more carnivore rather than herbivore. Barbeque, curry, steak, that sort of thing. Don't mean I don't look after meself, but I wouldn't turn down a good sizzlin' hunk of meat." he gave a small chuckle, looking over at Aster. "Though I can always go for a good stew. If only we had some meat and veggies," he chuckled lightly.

"Well, we're so close t' Pine that we should be able t' make it.. in the next few minutes, I'd wager." She looked up to check their progress and found that they were literally about fifty feet away from entering the town proper. "Y'wanna get a bite t' eat once we're in there? Mah treat."
In preparation to enter town, Aster returned two of her three newest Pokemon, resolving to take them to the training area later to get them properly integrated into her team, let them get to know everyone else, and maybe determine where they'd fit in to her farm life. She kept out the new Murkrow, weirdly finding the claws digging gently into her arm without breaking the skin comforting. "Ahm gonna call you Fennel." Fennel preened his wings, spreading out the feathers and pushing the oil they naturally produced down the length of the shafts, embarrassed by the attention.
Marley could see the town coming up in the distance. Not too long now before they arrived. As Aster offered to buy him a meal, Marley gave a small chuckle, "Well, I ain't one to turn down a free meal. I know a couple of places in town that'll make yer mouth water." he said with a grin. Indeed, this wasn't Marley's first time in Ivy, and had gotten more than enough time to familiarize himself with the place.
Listening to Aster name her new Murkrow, it made Marley realize something. He bent down, picking up the little Gible that was walking alongside him. "Now that I think about it, I need to give ya a name," he murmured, tilting his head and wondering what to call the baby dragon. What do you call something that looks like a mini land shark? Then the idea occurred to him. "'Ow about Hammerhead? Sound good little guy?" The little Gible clearly liked it, letting out a small squeak of glee and waving his tiny arms around, Marley couldn't help but chuckle at how cute it was.

Aster laughed along with Marley at the cuteness of the little dragon Pokemon, and she also seemed to like the name. "Ah love namin' my Pokemon. Gives 'em some uniqueness they don't got when ya just call 'em by their regular name." She blushed slightly and looked down. "Ah mostly name mine after plants. No surprise there, heh.."
As they walked, the path beneath their feet transitioned to cobblestone road, and buildings were visible ahead and on both sides as they entered Pine Town. Aster marveled at the size of some of the namesake evergreen trees near the entrance; they were tall, healthy, and a beautiful blue-green color, and everything around them smelled like pine needles and the sweet, sticky sap the trees produced. She wondered if they did maple syrup here, unbidden; maple syrup came from deciduous maple trees, not from coniferous pine trees, but sap was sap!
