Keone still didn't understand what had happened. He just knew yesterday morning, he'd woken up in extreme pain. He hadn't even been home to get dad to take him to the hospital either. No, he'd been in Birch for the night, and not even in a hotel in town, but camping on the outskirts. So he'd simply had to endure for a few hours until it passed. It wasn't until later that day after crashing to catch up on lost sleep and finally waking that he'd seen the news and learned that that sudden intense migraine might have actually meant something.
Apparently, it had been a widespread phenomenon, and affected Psychics and Aura Users. Keone had never thought he was either, but perhaps he'd just never realized it, or was one of those the news mentioned with "latent" powers not yet manifested? He didn't know which he might be, but... Well, he'd heard of a temple in the Weeping Forest that could help one train psychic powers, and on the way there on Route 7, there was supposed to be a wandering group of wild Pokemon who could help one train in Aura... So Keone figured he'd try the nearer option first, and if that proved fruitless he'd continue on to the other.
At his side, his Lucario Luka walked, and on his other side his Cutiefly Tink buzzed along. Both were aura users themselves, so he hoped they'd be able to help locate the wild Aura masters.
Instead, though, as they headed along, he noticed a child on the road up ahead. Hm? Was it safe for him to be out right now? Keone worried a bit, and jogged to catch up to the boy. He'd just gone over a hill, and Keone hadn't quite seen if he had any Pokemon out with him or not, either, but he hurried that way and called out, "Hey there, wait up!" Worst case scenario, he figured he could make sure the boy was all right and maybe ask if he'd seen any signs of the sort of Pokemon Keone was looking for.

Is there a need to go with a full party? No idea, but for the meantime, Agate just let two Pokemons out. The first one is Riku the Riolu, being almost as tall as the boy is, or perhaps a bit over now that he's starting to grow further? According to the other Pokemon who's currently out, Anat the Lucario, he's growing stronger. It won't be long until his evolution to Lucario himself. And afterward, Agate probably would bring two of them to learn Telepathy... there has been rumors about ruins that allowed some visiting Pokemons to learn Telepathy. Of course he don't know whether Lucario have potentials, but... he really wanted to try.
"Hmmm, you know, will they accept me? By the way, you did said that the Route 7 Aura Users are not part of your packs, don't you, Anat?"
The Lucario shrugged, as if saying that it could be, or probably not. Either way, they will help the two of these newbies learning the rope... that's all that's important to Anat, that's all really. But it's then that she immediately pointed at something far away. Eh? What was that, Anat? Agate activated his aura sight to see that there is an approaching person... Oh, that's interesting! Green aura, with brown on the center. Look at how it waves like Aurora too!
...Hmmm? Is he saying something?
"Wait up?"
Agate did that exactly. He just stopped. Maybe the person just want to spar or something... But at the same time it doesn't look quite so? Hmmm... But either way, waiting harms no one. Look, they even got a Lucario with them! That's an interesting coincidence. "Waiting hurts no one, don't you think, Anat?"
The Lucario nodded, but Riku meanwhile looked a bit tense... probably because he was equally wondering if the person is coming for a spar, or if they're just traveler that got lost. Agate would wave his arm, like signalling at the stranger that he'll wait! Hmmm, hoping that this would be an interesting meeting! Coming over the hill, the tops of some blue ears and a waving hand would barely come into view first. As Keone crested it, he took in the sight, surprised and a little awed. The guy had a Lucario and a Riolu of all things, but both were enormous! The Riolu wasn't quite as tall as Keone, but was around the same height as the child and way taller than Keone's Lucario. Luka looked a little bewildered himself as he blinked in disbelief at the big Riolu. The other Lucario seemed less surprisingly-big for its species, but was significantly taller than Keo.
Ah, but! He shouldn't be focusing on their size; the interesting thing here was that they were both Aura-related Pokemon. "Er, hiya," Keone said as he drew to a more conversational distance. "I caught a glimpse of you and wondered if you were okay out here, but it looks like your Pokemon are probably pretty strong, huh?" Yeah... He still worried a little, but remembered a lot of kids this age were surprisingly strong trainers. Just because he hadn't trained seriously at 10 or his early teens didn't mean others didn't.
"Um... So that aside, I was wondering, I guess. Have you seen any wild Lucario or other Aura-using Pokemon around here? Or... these ARE yours and not wild ones themselves right?" He supposed he ought to ask just to be sure there. "B-but yeah um. I was... hoping to find a pack that lives around here that's supposed to be willing to help train humans to use Aura?"

Oh, so it's just a good samaritan. Agate smiled at the explanation. "No problem, glad to see that you're not calling me out to fight though, ahaha. I think I need my Pokemons to be at full health for journey up ahead. Cool Lucario by the way!" he praised. "and is that Cutiefly? They're cute!"
Pretty strong? "Well, we're not the strongest, but," Agate lightly punched the air. "We got spirit! We'll train as best as we can to get stronger, that's all that's the most important. Self improvement, yep!"
Wild Lucario? Oh... Oh! "Oh you're going the same way as me then! These two are mine, yeah. Anat was part of a Aura Using Pokemon troupe, but she's not sure that the ones in this route are the same ones as her, or different one, and even if she knew, she mostly would not tell at all," Agate smirked at the Lucario who looked away, smirking back. "This girl, she just love to give me trials for whatever reason... And Riku here is not a native. He's from Unova, my pal, my fur brother," Agate joked as he gave the Riolu a noogie, which he quickly returned back.
"Heh, well, looks like we're going together. But yeah, no I don't know where should we go, to be honest... But if you want to, why don't we go together? Name's Agate by the way! Agate Valyn. As you know it easily, I'm an Aura User, although still a newbie. Only can see aura, that's all. What about you? Oh, right, what's your preferred pronoun...? I'm bad at those... guessing I mean..." Hm? Wanting to fight? Keone laughed weakly. "Ah, nah, I'm not the battling type really." He would, but doing so with other trainers for sport had never been his cup of tea, even as a kid.
The kid's mention of spirit brought a faint smile to Keone's face. He seemed like a good bean. But oh?? Oh he was looking for the pack, too? "Oh! Wow uh, okay, yeah." What a coincidence. Or maybe it was fate? Hahaha. Yeah, right. Keone didn't much believe in fate anymore... But eh, not something to dwell on now.
Agate, huh? Neat name. He opened his mouth to reply, but then Agate's last question caught him a bit off-guard. For reasons he couldn't explain, that brought a faint blush to his face. "Oh erm... Just 'he' is fine? Um..." His amber eye averted as he rubbed the back of his neck. "I do actually.. identify as a demiboy, but I don't like... go out of my way to present any special way or anything? So I'm sorta.. surprised you asked, but not in a bad way, heh." He forced himself to look back at the boy and smiled weakly. "A-anyway, my name's Keone Kaimana. And I'm um.. not sure if I'm an Aura User or not... But I... got that headache when all the power people did yesterday, so... I'm hoping the pack can help me figure out if I am or not," he explained. "...I um, guess I should ask too just to be safe? What your pronouns are, I mean?" He would guess Agate was a boy, or at least masculine-leaning, but he knew presentation didn't always equal gender. So best to make sure, especially since Agate had asked first.

"Ahaha, yeah, I can get that~ Not everyone likes battling, eh? As for me, I simply battle because it gives me reference of how strong my Pokemons are, so it's good idea~ But I won't really go out my way to fight another trainer unless prompted," Agate answered with a grin. "But yeah, don't worry, you're cool. Anyway, got an inkling of where to go?" Agate asked. He activated his Aura Sight again just be sure... Hmmm, are there anything around here...?
"Oh don't worry about that, heh... Sorry if that was awkward, but I just don't want to step anyone's toes, accidentally or not, that wouldn't be fun at all, especially not to a travelling pal! As for me, I'm a guy. Keone huh? Nice to meet ya!"
Ah the headaches... man, that one made Agate wince. "Ah yeah, that... how to say... I got knocked off my feet. Before I knew it I was already on the ground, my two Pokemons howling in pain, and everything was like..." Agate made a gesture of opening his closed hand. "Like fireworks. Burst of colors, blinding, it goes out of control and it made me very nauseous you know? Did you get that sort of reaction? Apparently it's different from people to people, but one thing is very same... migraine. One that knocks you off to the next day if you're lucky, howling in pain if you're not."
Agate shrugged. "...It seems to be related to the opening up of wormhole... Ultra Wormhole was it? Were you OK? Like, did you manage to get in hospital and such just fine? That one was dang hurt even with painkillers. I wonder how it feel for people that did not have the chance to get to the hospital... Ahh, so he was one of those trainers who wanted to be really strong. Keone had never been that type himself, but he supposed in light of recent events, he ought to try becoming more like Agate. And ah, so he was just a guy after all. Good to know for sure though.
When he asked about the terminology for Ultra Wormholes, Keone just nodded to assure him he had it right. But then he started talking about the headache experience, and Keone winced. "Ah... I uh... didn't go to the hospital..." He frowned. "Didn't really have transportation, since I was all alone and couldn't direct my Pokemon to take me." If only he was still traveling with-- Fuck shit no, don't think about him now. Keone's brain swerved hard from that line of thought. "I just kinda laid there until it finally passed." And cried a lot from the pain, but that was more embarrassing to admit.
When Agate asked about Aura Sight, Keone shook his head. "I don't. Even during the migraine I've never seen the kind of stuff aura users describe. I..." Hmm... This felt a little silly, but he supposed Agate was a literal actual child, and as such less likely to judge him than someone older might be. "I've done a little research in the past day of different powers Aura Users and Psychics have, and the only thing that sounds like it might apply to me is... sometimes when Pokemon are really upset, I can calm them easier than other people. I always thought I just had a way with them, but.. it COULD be related to Aura Channeling?" he explained. "Or it could be uh. Psychic Empathy, or I could've been right all along and it be nothing special, but yeah..." It was worth looking into, right?
"Anyway, we probably shouldn't just stand waiting for them to find us, right? Which way should--" Before he could ask, Luka suddenly perked up. Huh? The Lucario barked briefly, and pointed off into the distance. He could see some concentrated Aura there, like perhaps there was a gathering of some kind. He couldn't be sure from this distance if it was the pack they were seeking, but it was worth checking. "Ah, let's go see what's that way then?"

"...Ouch..." Agate could only comment that to the fact about the guy in front of him was unable to go to the hospital and just held his pain until he passed out. "...That... wasn't pretty the slightest... um, are you OK now? Like, there's no side effects or anything, right? I heard if you passed out from really extreme headache you usually would get some lingering pain or something like that..."
He took out something from his pocket. "Oh by the way, candy? Headache or not, having chocolate sort of reduces stress."
Hmmm, woah, he already did research huh... "Actually, that's very smart thing to do. It's just I never researched about Aura before aheh... I'm... always the 'on the fly' kind of guy, do you know what I mean? I guess that's part of the bad reason why I often get into trouble a lot. But still, Aura Channeling huh... That's quite interesting... I do heard that apparently your Aura can affect how you're seen by Pokemons. Calming them, intimidating them... So I can get behind that. But... how to say..."
Agate once again activated his aura sight. "If I can say, you got... how to say... I can't really point it out, but I think compared to mine, yours are..." Agate made a more thoughtful expression before settling... "I can't really point out what is it, but if I may say it's very... the presence is more pronounced? But either way, I have inkling that you might be in the right road after all. Regardless, I like how your aura looked. It's... calming. Feels refreshing to the eye."
Looks like the first to find the sign of Aura was Keone's Pokemon. Riku squinted, and nodded. He seem to also agree going to that direction.
You are headed in the right direction! Lucario definitely senses something!! As you follow after, however, Agate stepped directly into a hole--! Hitting the ground, he barely has a moment to recover before the ground starts to give way! A pot hole turned sink hole, perhaps??

Seeing Agate wince, Keone couldn't help but feel bad. He didn't want anyone to pity him or feel bad just because he'd been in pain for a while. Besides, he was fine now. Before he could say too much, though, Agate changed the subject with an offer of-- "Chocolate?" Keone blinked, then smiled weakly but genuinely. "I'd love some, thanks."
After taking a piece from the redhead and popping it in his mouth, he listened to Agate describe his Aura. He seemed to be running circles around his own words trying to describe something, but Keone thought he understood. He was saying his aura reminded him of other aura users in some way, yeah? Perhaps he'd get lucky today then... Keone nodded with a simple, "Guess we'll see," as they followed the Pokemon's lead.
Then suddenly, Agate started to trip, and Keone startled for a second before turning to try to catch him. Before he could, the boy was gone, sucked down a large hole in the ground, and a sudden very primal terror froze Keone in place. There'd been a slight delay in his reaction. He felt like he should have been fast enough, but he wasn't. Now what if Agate was hurt? What if he was--
Tears immediately sprung from the teen's eyes at the thought, but a moment later another fear set in. One that Agate could be saved, but not for long. What if he was bleeding out, or risking the hole sucking him deeper at any moment, and Keone was just standing here scared? That thought got him moving again, and he scrambled to drop to his hands and knees in front of the hole. "Agate!?" he called, eye searching. Fortunately the hole was pretty wide and let a fair bit of light in, so he quickly spotted the boy, but it was at least as deep as wide, and there was no way Keone could reach him right away. "A-Are you all right??" He was trying to hold back his tears, but it wasn't working too well.

His attempt turned to be quite successful, and Agate came out of it with just a little bit of sore on his back and dirt here and there, but he's definitely unharmed! Not a blood on him at all. He heard Keone sounding panicked, so he immediately turned around and waved at him. "I'm alright! Just a bit surprised!"
...And his clothes are dirty, but that's normal for any explorer.
Riku barked at him, like asking if he need any healing, pointing at Anat.
"No, I don't need healing at the moment! I'll be out soon!" Agate told the two. Just while he's here...He looked for any sign of any items. He takes out his mining kit and struck at one of the walls there, just to see if he could get something. By the way, he also activated his aura sight. Whether he get something out of it or not, he'll pull himself back up, climbing... hopefully this time around they can move.
Once on the top, Agate would stretch a bit, dust himself, and checked for any injuries... Nothing, at least for the meantime.

Agate does find a nice little shiny Sun Stone lodged in the wall of the hole. Pulling that out is awkward, uncomfortable, and... whoops. That's him falling right back down in the hole again. Keone, meanwhile, would start to feel eyes upon him from somewhere else... somewhere in the trees or brush or something...
[attr="class","fadedkeobanner"]But the more I try to move on, the more I feel alone.
[attr="class","fadedkeotext"]
Keone breathed out with visible relief at seeing the boy unharmed. He didn't know how he'd live with himself if-- He shook his head fiercely. No sense thinking about that when it didn't happen. That said, Agate seemed pretty unphased himself, even taking some time to explore the hole a bit? "What are you..." Keone mumbled so low Agate probably didn't hear him, but before he could finish the boy held up a shiny sun-shaped stone. Oh??? Keone blinked. "Oh wow."
Anyway, once Agate had that squared away he tried climbing up, and Keone winced as he slid right back down. He was no expert on holes, but even he could've expected that wouldn't work. Ah... Did he have any rope? Nah, he couldn't remember if he'd packed some or not, but if he had it would've been a small amount of thin rope with intent of using it to set up a makeshift tent. It wouldn't hold Agate's weight very well, most likely. So then--
A-actually, Keone got the sinking suspicion he was being watched. Feeling suddenly spooked, he looked around, but saw no one immediately around. ....Brrrr. Well, if there WAS someone watching, he wanted backup if they decided to show themselves, and he otherwise just wanted to help Agate out of the hole, so back to focusing on that.
Mmmm-- OH. "Hey I got it. Hang on, back up," he called down to the redhead. He pulled out a Pokeball and opened it, releasing Kalea and Kapua down into the hole. Kapua waved at Agate from inside her mother's pouch, while Kalea looked up to Keone. "Kalea, can you lift him up out of this hole?" The Kangaskhan was nearly 8 feet tall, after all. Between that, her arm length reaching up, and Agate's height, they should meet or surpass the depth of the hole and Keone could help pull him up if needed.
The Kangaskhan nodded, and leaned down with her hands laced together like someone about to help another mount a Rapidash, an offer for Agate to climb onto her hands.

Oh look at that, a Sun Stone! Score! He can probably sell it for a little bit of money one of these days... maybe. For now, though? He have to get out, but... yep, he fell. He did not feel like it's because his legs or anything are wounded, but... He guess he really can't jump his way out of this one huh. The option is to dig way out or ask Anat and Riku to pull him out, but... Even when the Riolu and Lucario attempted to reach him, it's still not enough.
"Hmmm, looks like that's a no go," Agate told the two Pokemon, who looked at each other. Technically, they can just jump there, support him, and get up but... that going to be really cramped at the same time. They instead opted to look at Keone who sounded like he got a plan. The plan apparently is in form of Kangaskhan!
"Keone? Are you doing alright up there?" Agate asked, ever the people worrying. The powder blue haired guy said that he got a plan but... what plan exactly? As for Agate, he doesn't care himself as much as he care for another people, that's how he works really. He just hope that his new acquaintance (or hopefully friend) did not push himself too much. Agate at first blinked at the shadow that was looming, a result of something else is in the pit... and found a cute little Jollaby waving at him! Awww, look at that, so cute! Agate covered his mouth reflexively to hide his wide grin at the cute Pokemon!
"Aw, hello there friend!" Agate greeted the pouch dwelling Pokemon, then looked at the big Kangaskhan. Dang, she's huge! But that makes Agate all the more happy. "Hi to your Mama too. Oh, your name is Kalea? Thank you very much, Ma'am! Sorry for my discourtesy of climbing you up..." Agate climbed the Kangaskhan and attempted to once again scale the leftover wall. Hopefully he'll be out soon. However, Riku barked at him, like signalling for something.
"Sup, bro?" Agate asked. The Riolu make a sign, pointing at his own eyes, then at Agate's. Something watching them above? Hmmm...

As Keone managed to rescue Agate, something in the shadows would move. Stepping forth from the underbrush, an aged and absolutely tiny Lucario with a cane-like staff stepped forward to stare at you both. Behind her, a massive Gallade stood toweringly.
The Lucario is the one to approach you both, or rather Keone, it seems, and as she comes forward, she looks up at you with a curious look. Her head tilts, and a low noise escapes from her. Yes, she likes you, it seems. She then turns to Agate and steps forward to check you next with the same level of care. A small nod would be given, and she turned back to the Gallade before tapping her staff a couple of times. The Gallade gives a small salute and makes an arm gesture for you to follow them. The Lucario walks after him.
It's a somewhat short walk but none the less a walk before you come to a clearing of various height grasses. From the shadows of a tree, a pair of Riolu show themselves first. Coming out from another tree a Sawk and Throh show themselves. You have found the pack, it seems.

"I'm fine," Keone answered. "Let's worry about you." He was the sort to care more for other people than himself as well, but Agate was the one in trouble right now.
Kalea didn't seem to mind the child climbing up her-- as a matter of fact, she was used to young Pokemon using her as a jungle gym and found it rather endearing when they did it, so this wasn't bad at all-- but she still appreciated his polite apology as he climbed. What a sweet boy.
As Keone expected, that pushed Agate above the edge of the hole, enough that he could climb out on his own probably, but Keone offered a hand to help him at least steady himself regardless.
As Agate got to his feet, though, the presence watching them quickly made itself known in the form of-- OH. Oh no she was???? adorable??? Keone was so endeared. She was... so smol. She looked so old, too. Hunched over and making herself look even smaller. He worried about her health being out in the wild, actually, but she also gave off a... sort of vibe of wisdom and power, and Keone couldn't help but freeze up as he was judged.
Luka was momentarily happy to see a smaller Lucario after feeling sub-par next to Agate's partners, but he too quickly picked up on her powerful aura and offered a bow. Tink, on the other hand, pretended not to be impressed, but still behaved herself.
Once they'd been judged, Keone stuttered, "I-- I think they? want us to follow?" He hurried after the Pokemon, but made sure to keep behind the Lucario. Upon seeing a few other fighting-types in the clearing, he smiled softly but brightly. "The pack..." Or part of it at least? Who knew.
Giving a small bow to the Lucario and Gallade, he said, "I hope you can teach me."

"Eh, I'm tough~ I might not built like a brick, but I'm tough," Agate replied, grinning widely. By the way, he really want to hug Kalea and her Jollaby child, dunno why... probably because he just love them? At any rate, it didn't take long for him to climb out. After thanking Keone for his assist, he dusted himself off. He got earth smears on his pants and clothes, but that's nothing new. A bit of pigments to the fabric is all (but it's going to be a pain to wash for sure)
O... oh wait what's this? Agate looked at the sight of the a tiny Lucario that looked aged. Immediately, Anat bowed to the Lucario like a disciple toward a martial arts master. Both Riku and Agate was still frozen, before they noticed that they have been very rude and followed Anat's gesture, albeit a bit too hastily and panicked than they would have liked.
"Our greetings, elder" Agate quickly offered his greeting to the elder and the Gallade.
Well, he guess that they want them to follow indeed, but... Agate nodded at Keone. He gestured at his Pokemons to also follow. Anat on the front of Agate, because her status is "his teacher" technically. Behind her is Agate and Riku obviously. The large Lucario kept her steps light, and her gait respectful to the elder and the bodyguard in front of her. This is when Agate noticed that they're... going to the heart of whatever this meeting place of the aura user Pokemon would be.
Riolu, Sawk and Throh... Looks like they're in the right place. Anat gently offered a greeting toward the Pokemons that just came out, and so does Agate and Riku, this time better timing and grace wise compared to before. Upon Keone's request for the guru to teach them, Agate also nodded.
"Please, we also request you to guide us in the way of Aura."
The Lucario leads you to the rest of the pack, who bow respectfully to her as she sets her staff on the ground and then -- hops on top of it? With one leg? She closes her eyes, lets out a peaceful breath, and languidly swirls her arms around to various points on her body, as if drawing the energy out. At first, only Agate can see it, but as she progresses in her meditation, the aura becomes brighter and and even without Aura Sight, Keone can see her aura swirling around her as well.
The massive Gallade turns to you both while the Throh, Sawk, and even the Riolu touch their hands to their bodies in a similar manner. Perhaps you should also try feeling the aura within yourselves.

Keone watched in awe as the Lucario elder hopped up on the staff. Amazing! How did she balance like that? Soon, swirling light became visible. Wh- Was this Aura Sight? Or... no, probably not. Lucario were skilled at projecting their aura, so she was probably just making it visible for everyone.
Seeing the Gallade look to them expectantly though, and the ritualistic way the other Pokemon began going through poses, Keone started to get the picture. "You want us to copy you?" The Gallade nodded, and Keone took a deep breath. Okay, um... he hoped this did something and he wasn't just wasting their time. But hesitantly, he began touching the same points on himself.

Aura sight was nifty, but honestly he was completely caught off guard from the strength of aura of this old Lucario. It was bright! He had to turn off the sight for a moment... but he then saw that even without his aura sight, he still can see the aura.
"Amazing... is this aura projection?" he mused. However, there wasn't any time to gawk. The surrounding Pokemon began to mimic the guru's movement.
Riku the Riolu nodded at Agate, telling him that he need to do the same. The Riolu, having trained in the way of Aura, is doing it easier, but not as easily as Anat who can naturally use aura. The movement of the two was akin to a dance, a dance that seem to rouse some feeling from the inside. Agate did the same. Finesse is not his strong point however, and seem he's failed his first attempt at moving with the same grace.
Anat stopped her movement, and patted her trainer on the shoulder.
"Ah, sorry, what's up?"
She repeated the move again, this time slower. Moving like a stream, like the flowing water. At first Agate wasn't registering it, so he made another mistake. His movement was rigid, not fluid, and felt like it forces himself too much to draw the power out. Anat in turn shook her head and once again demonstrated the movement.
"...Oh!" finally, it clicked. The teen relaxed himself and began moving. Move the arm like flowing water, touch the body part. He's feeling it, the aura.
