After arriving in Arciel, Graeme had first made the move to look into where he was going to be living now before anything else. As a parting gift - or gifts, rather - his father and most of the crew working the shipyard had ended up dumping a bunch of eggs on him, all of which he was carrying on him in addition to the one he'd gotten immediately after his interview. How did one manage to carry five eggs at once? Very carefully. Graeme's gait was such that he was waddling from place to place, making it look like he was the one about to give birth rather than someone who'd just turned into a pokemon wetnurse.
The place where he'd ended up renting was small, just off the main street and snug enough for one person. It wasn't anything like back home and his father's house that seemed to have add-ons every year, but he reminded himself that he was on his own, so roomy apartments and bedrooms were luxuries he couldn't rightly afford right now. Maybe when his career as a trainer took off, but who knew. The first thing he had to do was actually get pokemon to battle with, because if he got into a fight and he sent out an egg? That really wouldn't end well.
After doing a quick walkthrough of the apartment and making sure everything was right and in working order, he'd decided to stretch his legs for a stroll and maybe see if he could scrounge up some furniture or something so his new place wasn't pathetically empty. The eggs he'd brought with him were nestled comfortably against both hips, his front and back, and then an additional one hanging from his neck. Needless to say, people gave him plenty of room despite the crowded environment of the city, and he was able to enjoy a relatively lengthy walk without fear of damaging any of the eggs that he had on him with unwanted jostling.
His wandering took him through the streets and all along the main shops, past the road marked by clear signs denoting the professor's pokemon lab, past the ornately decorated Birch Contest Hall... everything around him was decorated with nature in such a way so as to appear natural, trees and hanging planters and bushes integrated seamlessly with the architecture throughout. Having grown up in a port city all his life, he had to say it was different, but not different in a bad way. Refreshing, almost, and so it should have come as no surprise that he found himself steering into a vast open area with a sign off to the side proclaiming "Birch City Botanical Gardens".
It was around noon, so there were a handful of people milling about here and there. The gardens themselves were actually rather beautiful, with an assortment of multicolored flowers and different fauna proudly on display in their natural habitats. There was a small pond nearby and benches and walkways scattered throughout. Some of the paths took one beneath overhanging vines and hanging flowers, making everything pretty magical, almost ethereal, in a sense.
Graeme was so caught up in looking around, trying to take everything in all at once that he didn't notice that he'd ended up straying into someone else's path until he'd bumped into them. Thankfully, it was in a spot where there wasn't an eggy, but he still made sure to check on that side to make sure it wasn't injured too badly. "Shit, sorry--" He began, caught sight of just who it was he'd bumped into - a really tall, rather female-shaped object - and immediately just sort of. Slicked back his hair a bit, immediately taking on a suave grin.
"-- sorry I'm late. But I'm here now, so what are your other two wishes?"
