Here she was now, staring at Birch City. She had been in Arciel for a few weeks, but she hadn't known if she wanted to do this, until right now. She had a daycare that she was helping out with in Maple City, but that wasn't enough. She wasn't going to be able to start her dreams using their pokemon. No, she needed her own. Some pokemon that she can bond with and not have to worry about going elsewhere. Pokemon that she would be able to call her friends. So, when she asked about this, she was told of the single place that would be able to help her with that. The Birch City Lab. Of course, it was one heck of a trip from Maple City to Birch City, but, she had some help. Speaking of. She looked at the daycare workers who escorted her to the new city and she smiled and, with a small wave, she thanked them for their help.[break]
"Thank you both, I wouldn't have made the trip safely without you. Who knows, in a couple of weeks, I might be able to come back and show you the pokemon I get today." There were some well wishes and a small hug before the two women who helped her were gone. The daycare center felt like a home, and she was happy that she was able to help out with it. Breeding pokemon and Daycare centers were all that she knew, but that didn't mean that she wanted to change. She liked who she was, and she knew that she could always branch out a little bit without abandoning her true goals.[break]
Her goals. That's right, she needed to actually walk into the building that she was staring at. That would be helpful to start on these goals that she had. She just stared at the door to the lab for a few more minutes, nervous. Were the people and pokemon here going to reject her like the ones that she tried to befriend before? Or was she actually going to be able to gain a friend today? She was really hoping for a friend, she knew that she wasn't going to be able to replace Aria ever, but perhaps she would be able to create a new friend just like Aria? That was the hopes for today at least.[break]
So, with a big, deep breath, she opened the lab door and walked inside. What she saw took her breath away for a few moments. It was so nice in here, possibly because she hadn't been inside a lab, well ever. With a gentle smile on her face, she knew what she had to do, and that was see about a new friend. She walked over to one of the desks in the lab and she politely smiled, "Hello?"
The desk was worked by a thin man in a labcoat with a high, reedy voice that looked momentarily confused upon being approached. The way he stared at Lilly was telling, his expression a little awestruck before he quickly realized that no, he wasn't dreaming and yes, this was someone here for an appointment. The assistant cleared his throat and, after checking the proper paperwork stammered out a quick "be right back!" and scurried off to one of the rooms off to the side.
Unfortunately - or not - the man didn't reappear, and was instead replaced by a tall, blond woman carting a cache of what one could only assume were pokeballs. "Lilly Vaughn, I presume?" The woman spoke, heading over to the desk that had previously been vacated by her assistant and setting the case on top of it. There weren't much notes to push away, which was fortunate, since it seemed to take up most of the surface area. The cache was unlatched, the lid lifted to reveal two pokeballs within and a few empty spots for more. Perhaps it had been a busy day.
"There would normally be more, but your records indicate you've already made your choices." The professor took out first one ball, then the other, opening them to reveal the pokemon within.
She felt horrible for surprising the poor guy. It made her wonder how many people actually came about now a days if the man was this shocked and confused at the encounter with her. When he told her that he'd be right back, and smiled and nodded, mainly because that was all the time she had to answer him with. That was okay, he was probably just getting her pokemon, or Professor. It hadn't taken long for a person to come back to her though, and she smiled at the tall blond woman.[break]
"Yes ma'am." Politeness was something that Lilly was going to hold onto right now, only because the professor did scare her a little bit. Mainly because this woman was holding her new start at a new life in her hands. Lilly looked from Professor Holly to the case that she had with her. When the case was opened, there were only two pokeballs inside, which was perfect. That meant that her request had been received before hand.[break]
"Oh no, that's perfectly fine. I was excited when I learned that Eevee was a choice." There was a perfectly good reason for her to choose the pokemon, and it was the fact that she just loved them so much. When she looked at the two Eevee, she noticed a few things. First, one of them was a female, but she was shiny and huge at that. All in all, she was adorable. Thank you. The thought was quick, and then gone. It brought a small smile to her face as she looked at the other Eevee, a handsome tiny little male he was.[break]
No thoughts came from him, so that was okay by her. She didn't mind working up the bond with of the Eevee to make sure that they feel comfortable talking to her all of the time. With her judgement over her new pokemon done, she looked at the Professor and smiled again. "Thank you Professor. I will treat them with all of the love and affection that they could possibly need and want." She didn't know if there was anything else that was going to be needed of her, but she was ready to go if she was dismissed.
Despite Professor Holly's relatively serious countenance, seeing the joy that broke out onto Lilly's face was enough to pull at the corners of her lips. It was always a delight to see a trainer take to their new pokemon as well as Lilly was doing now, nevermind the fact that she had chosen the Eevee from the start. She allowed them some privacy to get acquainted with each other, choosing to peruse over the notes regarding the rest of the appointments for the day. It seemed they had an influx of new trainers recently.
Lilly's thanks brought her back to the situation unfolding, and the Professor gave a curt nod. "I have the utmost confidence that you will. You should consider giving them names, however that is entirely up to you." She moved to another crate that had been sitting inconspicuously nearby and withdrew from it a few starting supplies. A few pokeballs, some potions and what looked like an egg incubator. These were all handed off to Lilly briskly. "Some items to help you on your journey." The professor said by way of explanation. Once they had all been squared away she set a hand on her hip, the other tucking her clipboard of notes under her arm.
"Do you have any additional questions for me, or are you ready to start your journey?"
Professor Holly had been kind enough to let her and the two Eevee get somewhat acquainted, but Lilly knew that she was going to need more time to get them to trust her fully. It was just how things went, she didn't blame pokemon for wanting to be friendly before being fully themselves. She didn't return them to their pokeballs though, instead, she put them into two different slots in her bag, she would walk out of the lab with them. Let them stretch their legs and perhaps get to know her a little more that way.[break]
She looked at the two pokemon and she smiled, knowing the perfect names for them already. "She," Lilly pointed at the shiny female Eevee, "I think her name should be Asami, while his name," she pointed to the male Eevee then, "will be called Sivan." Asami seemed to be happy with the name as she bounced a little with a chorus of "Eevee" but Sivan seemed to look at her and just tilt his head. Probably just trying to see how he feels about her and his new name more than likely.[break]
A few more items had been given to her, some pokeballs and potions, and the best part, her very own incubator. She knew that it was going to come in great help as she furthered her goals. After she put them into her bag carefully and shook her head lightly. "I don't believe so. I think the three of us just need to go and start becoming friends." She paused for a moment, just after looking at the two Eevee and she looked back at Professor Holly.[break]
"Thank you. Everything you've given me is a great help, and it's very appreciated." She wanted to hug the woman, but she opted out of that thought and instead looked at the two pokemon. "Say goodbye to the nice Professor. We are going to start our new adventure together." There were some sounds that came from the two pokemon, and with a final goodbye to Professor Holly, the trio left the lab, ready to begin becoming friends.
