She didn't even know that this shack had been here. She had mainly just been walking the route, trying to get to know Asami and Sivan better. Both of the Eevee were at her feet, Asami, the shiny one, on her right and Sivan, the normal colored one on her left. She was trying her hardest to show them that she could be a good friend to them, and she felt that by taking walks like how this one had started was a good idea.[break]
So when she came across this shack and walked in, she hadn't expected it to turn into an opportunity that she was going to want to take. He had told her that she was to go and dig up some items for him. He apparently didn't care about the items, he just wanted to see the aptitude that she had for mining. There was also the promise of there being some kind of reward if she came back with the right amount of items.[break]
This was the moment that she was glad that she had left the eggs at the daycare for the day. The ladies that she worked with promised to watch them carefully. This left Lilly's bag open for more things to be put in. With the mining kit that her new found mentor had given her, she walked to the, very convenient, mine shaft that was next to the shack. Sivan seemed to shy away from the cave though, refusing to go in. "That's okay Sivan." After rubbing his head lightly, she had him return to his pokeball.[break]
That just meant that there was only a single pokemon that she had to keep an eye out for the cave now. Asami, for her part, seemed to be adamant to go into the cave and start looking. So much so that her little tail was flicking back and forth out of irritation a little bit at the fact that Lilly was moving so slow. Once she put Sivan's pokemon into it's slot in her bag, she walked into the cave.[break]
She walked for a few moments before she looked at a spot, wondering if she actually saw something sparkle or not. "Well, let's try and see what happens." Readying the mining kit, she started to work carefully, wanting to see what it is that she might find, or not find.

Before long your digging spade hits something hard. As you scrape more along the surface you find that it's large, and round, and... oh. Very rough and bumpy indeed.
A Geodude pulls herself out of the little hole you excavated. She crosses her arms and glares at you.
She didn't spend much time digging before her spade hit something hard. This was curious indeed, so as she investigated it, she instantly regretted what happened when the Geodude went in front of her. Lilly was fully waiting for the Geodude to attack, even Asami was prepared for it, however the Eevee would have been able to attack. But instead of attacking the Geodude just crossed her arms and stared at her.[break]
Lilly did one thing first and that was look over the Geodude to make sure that she didn't hurt the rock pokemon on accident. "I am so sorry Geodude. I didn't mean to disturb you, honestly. Here, I'll grab my supplies and go to a different spot." She didn't waste time in gathering her items, grateful that the pokemon was just mad at her but not so mad that she was just going to initiate a battle in the dark tunnel. Perhaps next time she goes into a cave, she should bring a pokemon with her that would create some kind of lighting.[break]
That might be helpful. Once she had her mining kit together once more, she backed away from the Geodude and her resting place. Once she was a few feet away from the pokemon, Lilly turned around to see that the Geodude had already gone back into her little hole to go back to sleep. We got lucky. Lilly looked down at Asami and nodded lightly. "That we did Asami. It's nice to hear your voice again.""Eevee!"[break]
So that was short lived that's okay, it was progress, and enough progress that put a smile back on Lilly's face as she walked the cave once more. As she walked, she noticed something else shiny catch her eye and she looked at the spot. She took her time to make sure that it was indeed shiny, hopefully, and not just another pokemon sitting there. After a few moments of no movement from the spot, she set her stuff up once more, and got to work on trying to find some items for her mining mentor.

You see something shiny and red on the ground, and hustle over to pick it up.
When you get closer, you notice another red gem right next to the first. Strange. You could have sworn you didn't see it before. Maybe it was just the angle you were at? You look around. There are more gems on the floor, sticking out of the walls, heaped over the rocks. A veritable treasure trove! And yet, at the same time, you get the creeping suspicion that you are being watched.
One by one, you see grins appear below the eyes of the Sableye.
As she started to get ready to dig, she noticed that there were red stones almost everywhere. This is what she needed to finish this quest right? But, just as she was about to bend down and pick on up, she noticed the smiles that were forming. These weren't stones, these were Sableye. Asami was faster to react than Lilly had been, the shiny eevee quickly biting at Lilly's pant leg, attempting to drag her away. N, no, no, no. Away. Between Asami's huge sizing and her voice loudly presenting itself in Lilly's mind, the pair were moving, Asami leading the way.[break]
That was a really close call now that Lilly thought on it, and even though there was still a quest to be done, she wondered how many more pokemon she was going to run into first before she actually got to find the items that she needed for the quest. At the same time though, she didn't mind this at all? It was a learning experience, and she was learning what not to try and dig on. So far, she's learned not to dig on a Geodude's head and not to go near red shiny stones.[break]
After briskly walking for a few minutes, the pairing did stop and the first thing that Lilly did was bend down and lightly scratch Asami's head. "Thank you Asami. I'd be in trouble right now if not for you." Asami didn't answer, but she did rub her head against Lilly's hand. This was progress in the right direction of getting to know the shiny eevee. Too bad Sivan seems to be scared of the mine shaft, or she'd be bonding with him as well. Every pokemon had their fears though, and dark coves seems to be Sivan's.[break]
But right now, Lilly put her mind back on the task at hand, wondering if she was ever going to find what she needed. She didn't want to feel down and depressed on that, so instead, she looked around where she was standing, and instead of going for the shiny thing, she instead went for something else. This spot looked promising. It was just a slightly darker patch in the mine shaft's wall. Maybe the third time was the charm? "Keep an eye out for me please Asami." The eevee happily answered as she started to look around, watching their surroundings.

Your instincts pay off! As you begin to hammer away at the wall, what looks like a broken off piece of - earthware? Plastic? It's hard to tell - comes tumbling out. It's a decent size, though, so... maybe there's some use for it?
What's this? You've found...
Cyan Shard!
Combine 3 Cyan Shards to give one Pokemon +2 Move Slots.
She hammered and hammered and soon, found something. She didn't know exactly what it was at first, it took a few tries to get it out of the wall anyways. But once she had the item, she just looked at it, then at Asami. "What do you suppose this is?" She didn't have a background in this at all, so this piece of plastic, if it was plastic, went right into her bag. She would show it to the miner in the shack anyways. He might even be able to tell her what exactly it is.[break]
For now though, she had a feeling that there wasn't anything else here for her, so she cleaned up her things and got ready to move. Once the mining kit was all back together, she looked down at Asami and motioned for the Eevee to lead. "You choose this time. The first two attempts I did led to some.. interesting encounters." Asami seemed to purr in response but waited a few moments. It was almost as if she was looking for a good and safe direction for them to go.[break]
Lilly was going to let Asami take her time, she was going to show the Eevee that she trusted her, even if it meant chancing the run in with some more pokemon. It wasn't what they ran into that really bothered Lilly. She knew that she was going to find two more items soon enough, plus, who ever said that adventures in a mine shaft were horrible? Asami seemed to make a sound that crossed a chirp and bark before she started to Lilly's right.[break]
Lilly carefully followed behind the Eevee until they both came to a stop in front of a wall of the shaft. "Here?" "Eevee!" Lilly smiled as she nodded and took the supplies out, prayed, and started to hammer into the wall.

You continue hammering into the wall, and hit upon a rather aggressively hard chunk of black rock. Despite your best efforts it doesn't give, and when there's a lull in digging it starts... moving? Rotating, in fact, turning this way and that until you see... an eye. A glowing orange eye that looks angry at having its home disturbed. The Rolycoly shifts in the mess of wall that had given way under your pickaxe to turn at you before it begins to spin, faster and faster and sending dirt and rocks flying everywhere. It looks like it's about to hit you with a Rapid Spin! Better skedaddle out of there!!!
She was starting to understand why some miners could be cranky, this wasn't an easy thing to deal with on a daily basis. It was difficult and kind of annoying. But, it was also necessary for advancement in things. She started to wonder if the miners still liked their jobs while doing this. But during her thinking on this, she wasn't really paying too much attention to what was going on with her current spot, at least, until she hit a hard black stone.
She put the hammer in the kit before she looked at the black rock, not noticing that it was rocking back and forth. Once she looked up, she saw something that hadn't been there before, an orange eye, and it didn't look happy at all. "Asami, run." She grabbed her mining kit just as the Rolycoly was starting to spin faster, and she knew what that meant, she was about to be hit with Rapid Spin, and she wasn't about to be in some major pain for a while.
She didn't want Asami to feel like she needed to take the damage either, so once Lilly had her hands on the mining kit, she took off in the opposite direction with Asami right on her heels. After a few minutes, they both stopped, out of breath and panting, and Lilly doubled over to place her hands on her knees as she just panted. She looked at Asami who was sitting now and panting just as hard, all this running had to be both good and bad for them. But, the job wasn't done yet. So, instead of giving up, she gave them a few moments to rest.
Then, with her mining kit ready, she walked to the next wall she found and started to hammer away, hoping that things were about to change for the better.

Upon closer inspection this is not a wall at all, but a vertical sheet of ice. Through the crack you can see a Piloswine and an Alolan Ninetales, engaged in what seems to be some kind of territorial dispute. Ice attacks are flying back and forth between the pair. They seem focused on each other, not paying attention to anything else, least of all the collateral damage from their battle.
A layer of ice is steadily spreading out over the ground. You start to shiver.
So far, this wall seemed to be going well for her. She was able to hammer away, and she hadn't hit any pokemon. Just as she was starting to think that her luck was turning around, the wall shattered like glass. She jumped back a foot and just stared at the wall and then the hammer in her hands. "I didn't think I was that strong." She muttered the words to herself before she put the hammer away and took a good look at the wall on the ground.
It actually wasn't a wall of stone when she took a closer look at it. Instead, it was a wall that had been made of ice. That was interesting. But as she studied this shattered wall, she felt the cold start to creep into the air and she shivered. The shivering didn't stop and she started to look up, to see that there was a layer of ice starting to spread. What was causing that? She looked at the hole that she had created, and saw a Piloswine and an Alolan Ninetails fighting.
Without even thinking on it, she grabbed her things and she started to back away slowly. There were two reasons for this; she didn't want to be spotted by the feuding pokemon, but she also didn't want to fall flat on her face because of the ice floor that was forming. Asami was slowly moving with her, and once they were both back on solid, not frozen ground, they briskly walked to a new wall. She was starting to feel like her luck was running out almost. This was starting to become slightly annoying.
"Is it too much to ask for some good luck?" She muttered the new set of words to herself before she stopped in front of a new wall, looked around for any pokemon who weren't Asami, and started to hammer into the wall.

Things seem to be going swimmin-oh look at that your hammer broke. Oh dear. It wasn't terribly expensive, but it wasn't terribly old, either.
It's then that the person who had set you on this task shows up, as though magically summoned. He's got some snacks and some juice because clearly mining is hard work, but then he pauses, looking at the broken hammer and then at you. The look on his face is definitely Not Pleased.
You get a replacement hammer, but also a feeling of shame and disappointment. And the guy who had set you on the task? He's left muttering something heated under his breath. Oh, and he took the refreshments too. :(
Okay, this wall seemed to be holding some kind of progress. She was hammering away at the wall, until the heaviness disappeared from the hammer. She looked confused for a moment and looked at the hammer, to see that hammer's head just broke off. There was a dumbfounded look on her face as she just stared at this, unable to believe what had just happened. This didn't seem normal, was her luck just this horrible? As if to make matters worse, the person who sent her on this quest, showed up.
At first, it seemed like he was happy, until he saw the broken hammer. She sighed lightly, feeling defeated at this point and she waited to be reprimanded or told to bugger off, but neither things happened. Instead, the not so pleased guy just handed her a new hammer, and just as she was about to ask for the snacks and refreshments that he had brought, he turned around and walked away. With the snacks and drinks. This was the moment she felt like she could actually cry. The guy didn't take the old hammer, so she bet down, picked up the hammer head that was on the ground, and just threw it at the wall in front of her.

Your lousy strength catches up with you at the worst possible moment. You whiff the throw. Judging by its trajectory, the hammer is about to come down on your foot.
But hey, at least you didn't piss off any wild Pokemon this time?
Her throwing the hammer didn't even work. In fact, she forgot how weak she actually was when she threw the hammer, only for it to land right in front of her left move. It would have landed on her foot, if she hadn't moved it in time. She stared at the hammer head and she just groaned as she looked at Asami. "I really suck at this." There was silence, which was probably a good thing, because she would be scared to know what would actually be said.
She looked at the hammer head on the ground once more and thought on kicking it, but thought better. Instead, she grabbed her things and moved over a little to try hammering at the wall once more. She had only been stopped because of a broken tool, that didn't mean that there was nothing here right? She was trying to be optimistic about this right now, but it was starting to get difficult. She's had too much bad luck in this mine shaft after all.

You hammer away at the wall. Somewhere off in the distance, a Corvisquire caws. You can't see it, but the cawing is incessant. Right on time, every time the hammer makes an impact against the wall, you hear the raven. It's very loud.
You notice something above your head. A ladder leaning against the wall. When did...? Was it just now, when you decided to move over a little, it was at an angle you simply didn't notice? Or weren't paying attention to.
An Alolan Meowth suddenly darts across your path. Perhaps it's chasing after the Corvisquire? Or no. Oh, no. It's being chased. You hear the onslaught of a great many wings flapping.
The Zubat swarm passes overhead. Should you look up, you count one, two, ten, a dozen... no, exactly thirteen of them.
Perhaps you should have remembered to make an offering to Groudon before coming in here.
At least as she was hammering away this time things seemed to be going over well. Nothing was jumping out at her to attack, but at the same time she wasn't finding anything. Perhaps she should of made an offering or said a prayer or something before walking into this mine shaft. Perhaps that was the reason why Sivan didn't want to come in here, he just knew that it was going to be bad luck. As she hammered away though, she started to hear some cawing. It almost sounded like a warning from a Corvisquire. She felt bad for whoever that bird was trying to warn.
She heard something above her head, and then saw the ladder. A look of pure confusion and shock showed on her face, because that hadn't been there moments before, had it? She looked down at Asami who had her eyes on a retreating form, and by the looks of it, it was an Alolan Meowth. Okay, that's not odd, it was probably sleeping. But when she heard the many wings flapping, she groaned lightly as she looked up to see Zubat flying over head. She started to count them, but lost track after the thirteenth one. No wait, there were only thirteen.
What did that Meowth do to make a swarm of Zubat mad? She made no movements though, waiting until they were gone before she grabbed her things and slowly started toward a new section of the mine shaft to work with. She just kept walking too, she didn't bother to stop until she saw something shiny in the wall. She looked at it, then down at Asami and just shrugged. "Why not. Perhaps we will get lucky." That was wishful thinking, and even she knew it was shes tarted to hammer away at the wall, hoping to unearth something useful.

All she heard was hammering, even when she paused to rest her arms for a moment, she just heard hammering. Was there someone else in the mine shaft with her? Or had she just been doing this for so long that she was hearing things now? That was a probability if she ever heard one. She looked down at Asami to see that the shiny eevee was laying down, just watching the area behind Lilly. That made the woman smile, her pokemon was protecting her at least.
She turned back to the wall to see that the shiny thing that she had been hammering for was early loose now, so she gently pulled it from the wall. That's it, she has two items now. The man said she needed three. This was an exciting moment, she didn't have pokemon attacking her or the hammer breaking, just this gem in her hand instead. She gently put that into her bag to give to the guy once she was done, and she turned back to the wall.
She was curious, would she be able to find another treasure from this spot? She shrugged figuring that it was at least worth a try at this point. With a quick and silent prayer to whichever Legendary wanted to hear it and help her, she started to hammer into the wall once more. Her nerves and anxiety piling on with each hammer hit.
