Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
To participate in the Swarm, first post in this thread looking for a Pokemon. A mod will tag you and reply with stats for one Pokemon you find, including color and possibly even evolution depending on the species. Reply again encountering and trying to capture the Pokemon. Once you succeed, do not post in the thread again.
You may only find one per character, no rerolls. This is to prevent spamming to find special Pokemon. If for any IC reason you need to encounter another, use the same stats originally rolled and pretend it's a different individual.
Pokemon in Swarms have a 20% chance of being a special coloration!
Pokemon in swarms have a +20% capture rate with any ball, and will never flee.
This swarm closes at 11:59pm site time on October 7. After that, no new encounters will be spawned. However, anyone who has an ongoing encounter that isn't yet finished has until 11:59pm on the 20th of October to finish trying to catch their encounter. After that, the thread will be locked and archived.
Activating Swarm Map 1/1 Well, here he is... He heard of Arons and honestly? He'd love to have one in his team. They grew up to be behemoth of a Pokemon, but all thing considered, they are still very... nature friendly. In fact according to pokedex entry, they're very into natures. The difference between what they looked and what they likes stood out for him. He also feels the same about nature. Here hoping that one that he could recruit would be a nice addition to his team.
Riku suddenly barked. Hmn?
"What's that, Riku?"
Surrounded by glowing mosses are some Aggrons and Lairons. There are a lot of them too, but... rather than the two of them, Riku instead pointed out at the Arons.
"...Huh? You're saying that rather recruiting the Aggrons and Lairons who would definitely came to us because our strength, it's better to recruit the Arons?"
Riku nodded. There's indeed a merit in that... for example, he can understand their strength and weaknesses better if he raises them from the start. He guess that he'll recruit the smaller ones, then.
"Riku, can you ask Aggrons and Lairon for permission to recruit their cubs?"
Riku nodded and saluted. He immediately walked toward the colony... maybe some of the young un's would come. Level - Irrelevant. Please roll for low level to befriend.
To his surprise... one that came with Riku... wasn't a normal Aron, but a strangely colored one. He never seen any Aron with this color before, so he guessed that it might be something... like a mystery of Arciel or something. But either way, he's not going to ask for anything better. He approached Riku who pointed at the Aron.
"Well hello there!"
He looked and found a Mama Aggron who glancing at him nervously... ah, that's the mother huh. This little lady decided that she wanted to give going with him a chance, but because her obviously smaller size compared to her clutchmates, did they think that she might be rejected? Agate decided that he should immediately dispel their concern.
"...So, I'm looking for Aron... And looks like you came to answer me, huh? Thanks a lot for coming. Well, first and foremost, I believe that any Pokemon have a fair shot in whatever they want to do. I'm an explorer, so all I'm asking is for a companion that can help me adventuring... what do you want to do, little one?"
...Oops, he didn't bring Ales with him. Oh well... but one thing stuck out to him is how calm is the little Aron is acting. Hmmm... in that case...
"...How about we learn about one another as we go, hmn? Come with me and let's journey together. How about it?"
While doing that, Agate offered a Pokeball to the Aron. Pokeball Go!

The Aron swarm was just east of Pine Town, which she'd visited only recently, it felt like, and so there wasn't much effort on her part to get to the Glowworm Caverns just east of the settlement. She knew that beyond that she didn't have much options to continue, having neither a bicycle for the Endless Overpass or a ride pokemon that would make things go by a little smoother. But that was perfectly fine; she was content just meandering through the caves, Fembra's tail giving off a faint orange glow as she kept dutifully at her master's side with Reddy pulling up the rear.
As far as caverns went, this was pretty much the norm. Well, save for the glowing moss lining the walls, which Faolan did her best not to touch. Reddy's handsy grabbing had ensured his little paws were glowing brightly, alerting Faolan to his presence at all times though she wondered over whether or not it would affect him negatively once they'd gotten outside the cave. She hoped not, and thinking on it she didn't think she'd ever heard of glowing, poisonous moss or anything like that before.
The steel-glinting egg in her satchel still showed no signs of hatching, and she adjusted her pack over her leg as she continued, mindful of the glowing plants growing all along the cave walls. She had yet to see any Aron and she wondered if they'd burrowed somewhere far from human eyes.

The swarming pokemon seemed to be out in full force this month. Liz's Rotom Phone, or Flick Phone as she called it as Flick was the rotom currently possessing the device, had indicated that aron were presently swarming in the glowworm caverns. Of course Elizabeth had gathered a team and ventured forth into the oddly glowing caves to seek out the steel type pokemon.
Cinder lead the way, his silver flame still giving off plenty of extra light. Though one could navigate fairly well simply on the caverns's natural glow it never hurt to have a bit more light. The ranger was glad the caverns were quite large, allowing for Tansy and Avery to manage moving about fairly well. The dragonite wasn't entirely thrilled about being stuck underground instead of being able to stretch her wings, but she was glad to at least be out with Liz and the others.
Valda was crawling along the ceiling, the arciellian galvantula feeling at home within the caves. Raya walked alongside Liz whilst Mystral the amaura flounced ahead just behind Cinder, the amaura's head held high in a haughty manner. Everyone was of course on the look out for any aron and were rather eager to explore the caves a little as well.

Avery had fallen behind and noticed a strange sound coming from a smaller side cavern. She ventured down the passage and located an aron adamantly ramming itself into one of the walls. The dragonite blinked and watched curiously for awhile until the aron finally managed to crack the wall and get at what appeared to be an iron vein that ran the length of the wall. The aron was looking for food.
The bulky dragon ventured a bit closer, ducking her head and folding her wings close to her as this was a bit of a tighter fit than the main tunnel. She waved gently to the aron who'd begun chewing on some of the iron ore he'd procured.
"Drag. Hello there friend. I'm Avery. My you seem like a strong one. Must take a lot of effort to mine up a meal like that." The dragonite spoke in a gentle tone and smiled kindly at the little aron. He chomped on the iron and watched her warily a bit before swallowing then smirking and puffing out his chest.
"Aron. Oh yes it does but it's worth the effort. I know where all the best veins are, no other aron can find as much ore as I can." He pipped up, bragging a little and looking a bit smug. Avery nodded enthusiastically and looked him over.
"Nite. Wow, that's very impressive. Funny though, I would think one as strong as you would be a Larion by now." She inquired looking puzzled. Aron bristled seeming to have taken offense to that and narrowed his eyes.
"Aron! Hey I'm as strong as any Larion." He retorted looking put out. Avery gently raised her claws in a submissive manner.
Dragon. Oh forgive me, I'm sure you are, no judgement's here. However if maybe you needed any help..." She trailed off and watched the aron curiously. The little steel type frowned as he eyed her.
"Ron. What sort of help? Are you wanting to battle me?" He asked in a more aggressive tone. Avery shook her head then pointed back down the way she'd come.
"Nite. Oh no, nothing like that. You see I'm here with my trainer. She's a ranger and is very good at helping pokemon. Maybe if you met her and perhaps came with us, we could help you get even stronger and possibly evolve to become the strongest Larion and then Aggron of all. She's also capable of providing all the iron and other foods you might want." The dragonite proposed with a raised brow as she beckoned for Aron to follow her.
"Aron. Hmm, I'm not so sure but I guess I could meet her." He said hesitantly but followed after Avery.
Liz had noticed the sudden distance of Avery's thoughts and paused as she turned to look back down the main cavern behind Tansy. The others also stopped to look to the ranger curiously. She briefly closed her eyes and searched along her telepathic connection to the dragonite.
"Av? You alright?" She inquired then waited as the dragonite's mental voice perked up enthusiastically.
"Yep! And I found an Aron! We're heading back your way now." Avery informed her, the raw power within the dragon's mind swelling with her joyous emotion. Liz couldn't help getting a little giddy herself, the dragon's emotional state easily catching to the empath.
"Alrighty! We'll be here." The ranger chuckled aloud as she turned and waited with the others for Avery to appear, readying a bluk berry and pokeball, her usual swarm kit. Honestly the ranger had more than plenty of each and this was a great way to put them to good use.
The dragon and aron soon turned back onto the main cavern and caught up with Liz, Tansy, Raya, Valda, Cinder and Mystral. Aron hesitated at first by all the various pokemon surrounding the ranger who stood casually amongst them simply smiling. Avery gently nudge him as she moved passed and then introduced the aron to the ranger. Liz dipped her head to the steel type then knelt down and gently touched aron's mind.
"Hello Aron. I'm Liz. Avery says you're interested in getting stronger and evolving. She's right, I think I can help with that, if you'd like me too." The ranger informed him then extended her usual offerings and letting Aron decide if he'd like to join them or not.
Ranger Befriend attempt with Bluk Berry and Pokeball!
While he did promise that he would accompany Josh into the caverns soon, but after he heard about the swarm of Aron that was currently occurring in Glowworm Caverns. He did have a Lucario that he obtained somewhere, but he wanted to catch another Steel-type for his gym battles. So he hoped that catching one here would give him a bit of an advantage.
As he stepped into the cave, he took a few minutes to scan the area. Since he would be catching an Aron from the swarm, he couldn't stay here for long. So his objective today was to get in, find one, battle if necessary, capture it, and leave. He would think it might be easy, but he has already been through some crazy misadventures from his previous jobs. So all he could do was to take a deep breath as always and focus on finding the Steel/Rock-type.

Note: This takes place before the journey thread that Josh and I are currently participating.
It's been a few minutes since he entered the cavern and so far, he hasn't seen any signs of the Iron Armor Pokemon around in his area. He did sit near a rock to idle around and wait for one to come. It took about a few minutes for him to sit and wait for something to come out. Eventually, he started to doze off as he hung his head and slowly closed his eyes until he heard some kind of an echoed cry nearby.
A bit startled from it, he stood up and saw a stray Aron walking by. As he stared at it, it continued to walk around the cave for a few seconds when it stopped and turned its neck towards him. He was about to take out one of his Poke Balls but stopped when he noticed it that it just ignored him and continued walking. He was surprised at its behavior as he expected it to be hostile upon making eye contact with a human-like him. But this one was a bit different. It stopped and looked around the area in some intervals and often backed away when it found itself in front of a rock.
But when it tripped, Armand couldn't help but to walk up to it and helped it get back on their feet. To his surprise, the Steel/Rock-type Pokemon happily cried as he put it down. This made him smile at this, who was amused at its surprising cautious behavior.
"U-Um... You're welcome. Are you going somewhere, little guy?" The steel creature just stared at him in silence, which he realized what he just said. "Or are you a girl?"
The Pokemon responded with a nod, which he sighed at this. He was relieved that he didn't need to battle it, but he felt a bit weird interacting with a Steel-type who seemed to be nice and cautious like him.
"Anyways, I'm here to find a Pokemon like you to join my team. If you like, you can join my team and become stronger together. Don't worry, I know how it feels to be cautious about my surroundings. So I'll make sure I'll keep you safe by my side." He then took out an empty Poke Ball and showed it to Aron. "Of course, it is your decision and I won't make you change your mind, okay?"
With that, he threw the ball onto Aron's head as he watched if he succeed in his capture attempt.

Just as it reached the second shake, the Poke Ball popped open as it released the Iron Armor Pokemon, which Armand sighed as he knew of her answer. "I guess it's decided then."
He then picked up the ball and stared at the young Pokemon. "Don't worry, I understand and I'm not going to force y-"
Before he could finish, the Aron quickly moved her little legs towards the trainer's and hugged it, much to his surprise. When he failed his capture with a Huntail before, it broke out of it as their way to refuse his offer and left. But this one seemed to be attached to him a bit literally.
"Wait, are you saying you still want to come?" The Steel/Rock-type remained silent as she stared at him with her eyes perked up, which made the dark-haired trainer confused at her reaction. "Okay? But I'm a bit worried about my Poke Ball break after that. So..."
With a bit of hesitation, he threw the Poke Ball again to the Aron for the second try.
