How would you describe yourself? “I consider myself a down to earth person. With a few quirks though. Life would be boring otherwise, right? I’m adventurous and curious, but can also be very relaxed if the situation is appropriate. I suppose I’m a bit mercurial, but I can also be very determined and stoic when focused on something. As you see, I’m a bundle of contradictions!” Why are you interested in the class you've chosen? “Growing up surrounded by Pokemon, I knew I wanted to work closely together with them. And I love having a good competition, so my mind was set on becoming a coordinator or a trainer early on. Truth be told, it took a while until I decided. Both focused on working closely together with your Pokemon to achieve victory and win a competition. But most of the time a battle just lacks that special touch. That’s why I decided to become a coordinator. Because I want to achieve the perfect sync with my Pokemon and create a work of art together with them.” Why are you interested in training in Arciel? Why not another region? “Mostly because I wanted a change of pace. Kanto is nice and all that, but I don’t want to stay at the same place all the time. Plus, with the current development of Arciel it seems like a good place to start a career.” What do you consider your best attributes? They can be physical, mental, social, or anything else. “So far, I think one of my best attributes is my determination. If I set my mind on something, I don’t give up. Though that can also be a negative side to me sometimes. Then again, I don’t blindly follow some goal I set ages ago. I do stop to think about them. Every now and then at least. I’m also pretty good at handicrafts. Like making cute outfits for my Pokemon.” What do you consider your worst attributes? Be honest, now! “Definitely my sense of direction. It’s horrible. The type of ‘I exit the building through a different door than the one I entered it and I’m lost’ horrible. I’m the kind of person who buys a map for every place I travel through but still manages to get lost. I also tend to get overly focused. To the point where I forget other things or even forget to eat. Especially when I’m doing something I’m very interested in or something I desperately want to finish.” What was your childhood like? How was school? “All in all fun, but sometimes a bit boring. I had some friends I liked to play with together. We were all little adventurers. But you know how parents are sometimes. Of course they won’t let you do all the cool stuff like wandering through the forest at night. We did it anyway though. Sometimes we snuck away, or we all said we’d be over at a friend’s place and then we went camping at the edge of town. Close enough not to disturb any wild Pokemon. Mostly. There was that one occasion with the angry Rattata. School was okay. I wouldn’t say it was bad, but it wasn’t especially fun either. Of course we had to learn that stuff, I do understand it’s important. But obviously meeting up with friends was a lot more fun.” How is your relationship with your family? “It’s complicated. Obviously we won’t talk that much anymore, now that I’m here in Arciel. I know my parents will send me letters or call me every now and then though. Though I’m not sure how things will be between my sibling and me now. They were angry that I left.” What do you like to do for fun? “Many things. First and foremost I love to dance. It’s part of my training as well, so it doubles as work and hobby. I also love to do parkour and freerunning. Preferably together with my Pokemon, so we can learn to work together even better. And since we’re already talking about the outdoor hobbies, I also like to go camping. Whenever I’m not outside, I’m usually making something - like sewing new costumes - or playing video games.” What are your feelings on romance? “I’m pretty open in that regard. Since I’m not in a relationship right now, why not try new things? At the moment I’m more in an adventurous mindset. Not really looking for a long time partner. But you never know when you might stumble across that special someone, right?” What are your goals for the future? Short-term and long-term. “That’s easy. Short-term, I want to train more and improve the teamwork between me and my pokemon. I want to take part in some showcases, maybe also a contest. Mostly to assess where my weaknesses lie so I can work on them. Long-term it’s definitely to win many contests and get my name out there.” If you could be a Pokemon, what species or typing would you choose and why? “Definitely an Eevee. It’s amazing how they can evolve into so many different types. I want to be like that too. With some amazing potential and many potential futures ahead to pick from.” What do Pokemon mean to you? “In general or my Pokemon specifically? Well, in general, I think they are amazing. There are so many things Pokemon help us with in our day to day lives. As for my Pokemon especially, they are my family. They cheer me up when I’m down and they’re what drives me to improve my abilities day after day. How can I expect them to train and put effort into improving their abilities when I’m not doing so myself?” Anything else you'd like to tell us about before you go? “Well, I could talk about my Pokemon all day. They’re adorably cute. But I doubt that would be fitting for this interview. One thing though. Thanks for taking the time to interview me. I really appreciate it.” |

Height 5'03" / 160cm Build Thin Hair Color Purple Eye Color Magenta | It’s never difficult to spot Cathryn in a crowd. She loves wearing colorful outfits, her favourite being knee-length dresses. Her purple hair is usually tied to twintails, only left open if she deems it favourable for a specific costume. One thing she is rarely ever seen without, no matter the circumstance is her beret, which she considers her trademark. She also has a tattoo of an Eevee on her right thigh, usually hidden by her dress. Aura Cathryn's aura seems to be in constant movement, colours mixing and separating like colourful clouds moved by turbulent winds. It’s mostly orange and green, with small spots of red and purple moving around inside. |
