Sunset had heard of a new quest that would be interesting for her. Mining! And, 'cause she had never done mining, she could use some learning while doing it. So there she was on route 2, heading to the house she was pointed. There it should be Sunset kncked the door and a man opened. 'Hi! What can I help you with? Are you here to learn about mining?' The man asked. Sunset nodded. 'As a matter of fact I am!' She answered. The man picked up a bag next to the door and handed it over to her. 'Here you have a Mining kit. Just go to the nearest mine and start smashing in those rocks! Pick up anything shiny!' She briefly explained some techniques and Sunset was off again. She entered the mine, pulled her axe out of the bag and started using it.

As you hammer away, you actually dislodge a large pierce of rock that hits the ground with a loud thud, sending echoes rippling throughout the cave. Oof. There's the sound of a few rousing growls and rumbles of irritation, and it's apparent that you've angered something deeper within the cave that doesn't appreciate being woken up. Before you can investigate further there's the mad flapping of wings and a sudden flock of Zubat burst out, whipping this way and that and scattering your bag and supplies all over the place. Oof. Careful with that hammer!

Sunset held her breath as she heared something further inside the mines. As she hit a rock, a large piece of it had hitted the ground, louder than she had expected. The echoes kept going on. As an answer, a Pokémon, probably, let out a growling side. Whatever it was, it was clear that it wasn't happy that Sunset had woken it up. As she was thinking what to do - going inside to investigate, or run like hell - a swarm of Zubat rushed over her. Sunset yelled and docked, so they wouldn't fly into her. Pfew. Luckily it was only Zubat... Sunset stood up and started picking her supplies back from the floor into her bag. Okay, she needed to be more carefull. Sunset picked up her gatgets and took some time to look at the rock again. Maybe it would go better if she aimed at weaker looking spots...
And you do hit a weaker looking spot!! .... but unfortunately it's enough to send another cascade of rocks thundering down onto the ground all around you, narrowly missing hitting anything too hard and sending up a cloud of dust that makes it impossible to see. What you can hear, though, is the growling getting louder... and if you happen to look up you'll see a very cranky looking Ursaring ambling towards you. Uh oh! It doesn't look too happy. It might be best to put some distance between you two, and fast!

Sunset's face lighted up as the hammer seemed to have some effect on the rock. But the expression disappeared as she noticed that she had sent another set of rocks falling down to the ground all around her. Sunset fearfully stepped a few meters away to avoid getting hit by anything. Maybe this mining thing just wasn't for her. But then, another sound caught her attention. It was another growl, but Sunset didn't think it was coming from a Zubat or anything... Sunset looked deeper into the cave. And indeed, this wasn't a Zubat. As the Pokemon came closer, Sunset recognised it as an Ursaring. A very pissed off Ursaring. Sunset hasitated, but it did seem a better idea to run. So she did. She turned around, grabbed her bagpack and sprinted out of the cave. She kept running, turning left and right randomly, as she found a place to hide. She slid under some bushes and carefully scanned her surroundings. Did it leave?
You manage to escape the Ursaring. And while you're at it, you stumble on some treasure as well! You probably just didn't see it in the dark at first, because it's so... Dark.

The Ursaring was indeed gone. Sunset sighed with relieve and headed back to the cave. She wasn't finished, and she didn't want to be scared away. Sunset hammered carefully in a rock, and yes! She found something! She picked up the Gem and carefully tucked it away in her bag. Okay, she was on the right track now. Hopefully. Sunset kept hammering on the rocks, but now nothing seemed to fall from it. Sunset picked up her bag and decided to go a little deeper into the cave. Maybe she could find some better stuff here. Sunset had thought that it would be darker, but it seemed that the entrance was large enough to let a lot of light in. Which was good for Sunset. When she found a spot she liked, Sunset let down her bag again and started hammering into the rocks again. Hopefully she would find something beautifull again.
Uh oh! It seems the loud hammering woke up a group of Zubat! They aren't too happy and are trying to take your tools away. Better get somewhere safe and hope they pass through the cave or go back to sleep.

As Sunset hammered into the rocks, she again heared the sound of wings coming her way. Not again... Couldn't she do something that would keep them away? She would need to think about that later, because the swarm of Zubat was coming for her quickly. Sunset quickly grabbed her tools as she noticed they were going for them. She pushed herself against te wall, trying to stay out of their way. In a minute they were gone. Sunset sighed and stepped back to the middle. Maybe she could ask Fennekin to light a fire. Maybe that would help a bit? Sunset ran outside to pick up some branches, she ran back into the cave and layed them in a circle. 'Fennekin, come help me out please!' Fennekin appeared and looked at Sunset. 'Time to practise your Ember, okay?' It took a couple tries, but the fox Pokemon managed to light the wood. Warm light lighted the cave, making Sunset feel a little more safe. Okay, back to mining...
Fortunately, it seems the fire worked well to ward off any other potential pokemon troubles! As you hammer into the wall, there are no additional noises from deep within the cave, so maybe that means the threat is gone? Or perhaps all the Zubat that live within have settled for the time being.
A glint of something sparkly under your pickaxe catches your eye, the stone gradually falling away under your efforts.

Yes, her second gem from her mining adventure. Maybe she wasn't so bad at it after all. And she didn't have any interferance from other Pokemon. It seemed Fennekin's ember was working. Feeling relieved, Sunset kept hammering in the cave, but nothing really came off from it. Maybe she needed to find another spot. So Sunset packed up her bags and walked a few inches deeper into the cave. There she lied down some branches again, which Fennekin lighted. Sunset took her hammer again and started hammering, while Fennekin stood on lookout. Just a few more gems before she would return to finish this quest of, and would went on to get her first Gym Batch. Sunset could not wait. What would it be like to stand against a Gym leader? Hopefully she would find our very soon. Sunset continued mining, sunken in her battle related thoughts. Fennekin turned around as she heared something. What now?

She found something else! Sunset started to move away to rocks that had fallen and found a protector. Nice! Sunset tucked it away in her bag - which was overly full now. Okay, now she was satisfied and ready to return to the man. Sunset packed her mining gear. 'Are you coming?' She asked Fennekin. The Pokemon turned around and came running towards her. Sunset walked out of the cave and followed a small trail back to the cabin where the man lived in. Sunset knocked the door and the man let her in. He made her some tea and sat down on the table. 'Now, what have you found?' Sunset picked the items out of her bag to show it, and was ready to give the mining tools back. 'Oh please no, you keep it! An old man like me, do you see me mining? My joints wouldn't like that. Please keep it, and use it much! You can keep what you found as well!' Sunset thanked the man and continued her journey.
