Dressed up in their Halloween best, Cricket approached the manor. Tonight, they were dressed to the nines. Atop their head, a cloud-like hat stayed in place with strategically-placed bobby pins; in their eyes, bright red contacts that were UV reactive; a short, poofy purple dress with puffed sleeves, one that clung to the chest and abdomen but ballooned out into a rounded skirt ending just above the knees, all in purple; their legs were covered with light purple leggings that ended in yellow; bright yellow sneakers with dark purple laces; and, on their face, a mask that completed the look with a huge yellow X. They were dressed up as a Driflblim. Her Ponyta stood next to her, wearing a specially-made fireproof outfit of her own. The Ponyta's outfit was a lot simpler, so as not to compress her body too much, and was mostly just a rounded headpiece meant to look like a Drifloon's body, complete with eyes and an X above the Ponyta's face and with Drifloon's heart-tipped strings trailing beneath. A cape followed behind the headpiece, covering some of the Ponyta's body in a fancy manner. On Cricket's shoulder, a bag containing her stuff plus two Eggs she'd gotten shortly after arriving in Arciel hung down to the other side, hopefully safe from being pick-pocketed.
"This is so cool, look at this big spooky manor! This is going to be such a fun party!" The front door was centered by a large demonic knocker, shaped a bit like Giratina's head, and Cricket reached forward to grip it, but the door swung open before they could even touch it, causing them and their Ponyta to dart backwards out of the way. "Eeee, let's go in!" remarked Cricket, then the pair entered the manor, unsure of what exactly to expect after the interesting door.
Once beyond the threshold of the door, it swung closed behind them with a terrifying creeeeeak.. SLAM! Which further delighted the already starry-eyed Cricket, who was dancing up and down on her toes in glee. "This is the best place EVER!" they exclaimed, rushing towards the sound of music and howling winds. They entered the ballroom, Ponyta in tow, to see that it was full of purple and pink fog, spooky lights, cobwebs, and people in fancy dress. Cricket took a deep breath to calm themself, then stepped in, trying to look the epitome of grace and like they belonged at a fancy ball like this, even if they were so excited to be in this spooky place that they wanted to scream with joy!

Halloween was Ffion's favorite time of the year, mainly because there weren't all that many other opportunities for people to get dressed up in costumes and there was always a chance for candy. She had struggled to come up with an idea for what to dress up as, but eventually it did hit her. She had styled her hair just so that two sprigs of it would be split and hanging upright on top of her head while on the sides of her pale blue dress she had meticulously worked on sewing together some impromptu cotton and fluff for the wings. A ribbon sash keeps a couple of tail feathers clinging on to her back, and she wears a beaked mask over her mouth. She was a Swablu! A cute and fluffy bird that always got to live with its head in the clouds. She had to admit that she loved seeing them in pictures, and still wished that someday she'd get the chance to see one in person. [break][break] Speaking of Pokemon, she carried her Litwick in her arms. Litwick's costume was fairly simple. he just sat atop of a little ornate silver candle-stand that Ffion holds in her hand. Not only was it something comfortable that wouldn't get in the way of his flame, but it would provide an eerie purple light for Ffion wherever she goes. As she walks down the path to the house, she keeps her head tilted back to look around the decorations that were put up for the party outside of the manor. They were all very beautiful in her eyes, and she about how it must have taken so much work to get them situated. She reaches up to tap the knocker, only for the door to open and slam shut behind her seemingly stirring some new clouds of dust that leaves Ffion coughing in the entryway. [break][break] Once it's settled again, she looks around the party floor and walks out to take note of the other people that had arrived before her. Her meandering brings her to a stop beside of Cricket and her Ponyta, and she smiles at the pair. They had matching costumes! It was adorable. She had thought about having her Pokemon match, but the both of them had different ideas and comfort needs so she decided to make whatever would make them the happiest. "It really is great, isn't it?" She asks, following her excited exclamation. "I've never been to a party like this before. Oh! Um, m-my name is Ffion by the way." She looks down at her own Pokemon in her arms to introduce him in turn, "The little one is Tanion."

"Oh, hi!! It's so cool in here!!" Cricket gave a happy little hop, grinning wide at the newcomer. "Ffion and Tanion? I'm Cricket!! This is Ponyta, I haven't come up with a good name for her yet so she just goes by Ponyta! It's great to meet you both!" Cricket seemed to be vibrating with excited energy, more energy than a person their size and age should really have in most cases.
"Oooh, are you dressed as a Swablu? That's adorable!" Cricket bounced on their heels, and Ponyta gave a gracious little bow to Ffion as well.
"Oh, I think there might be snacks over there, do you want to go with me to get some? I love parties, but I'm not much for dancing! Unless, you want to dance? I can dance with you if you want!" Cricket chewed their lip, worrying that they were scaring away a potential new friend with their excitable attitude and loud voice, but it was a pretty loud party and there were a lot of people. They'd try to be a little calmer, that should help. "Or did you wanna do something else?" They slowed their voice a bit and toned back on the high pitch, hoping it wasn't too late.

Ffion smiles and hugs her candlestick tighter to her chest, since she didn't want to risk mushing Tanion too much from her nervous fidgetting. The young woman sure was excited! She might be able to power all of Arciel if you gave her enough time and hamster wheels to run in. Still, there was something refreshing about it, and Ffion couldn't deny that it was nice to see since she usually kept herself reigned in when she could. "That's okay, it's nice to meet you both anyway! I'm sure that whatever name you decide on, will be a wonderful one." She looks down at herself and nods her head quickly, "Yeah! I sewed together the sleeves myself. Tanion is just well...a nice candlestick! He's a little bit small for most costumes.." [break][break] She lifts her head to ask Cricket, "You and Ponyta are supposed to be a Drifblim and a Drifloon, right? You did a great job on it, you both are almost spitting images." She considers the choices posed to her and lets her eyes try to trail over to where the snacks are being kept nearby. "Sure, we can get snacks." Ffion agrees, inclining her head in a politely resolved manner. On the way, Ffion does explain, "I don't mind dancing. Rym, my Mienfoo back at home, she loves dancing a lot more than I do. She can do all these flips and spins and it's just adorable...I usually prefer to be the one playing music. I have a violin and I've been working on refining my voice too in the meantime." She shrugs her shoulders and mumbles, "Still...it is a dance, so maybe after snacks I might try to dance anyway, even if I'm not so good at it."

"Oh, thank you so much!! I sew a little on the side, and the sleeves are a teensy bit tight on mine, but Ponyta's fits great and they turned out so nice overall!! I love yours, too!!" Cricket gave an excited bounce again and suddenly rushed over to the snack table, expertly dodging around individuals and couples alike, getting a few startled looks but paying them no mind. They arrived at the table and snatched a fancy clear plastic plate, filling it with snacks.
They grabbed a generous glob of cheese dip, a big handful of mini pretzels, a chocolate cupcake elaborately frosted with purple buttercream and sprinkled with black pearls, a few of the most perfect looking chocolate chip cookies they'd ever seen, a bit of vegetable dip, and about six baby carrots. Once their plate was piled high, Cricket chose to dip into the bright blue punch. The vanilla ice cream scoops floating in the bowl nearly blended into the blue liquid, giving it an ethereal look. She gave it an experimental sip, finding that it tasted somehow like the color blue mixed with vanilla, and chugged about half of the cup, filling it to the top again before she moved to sit down at one of the tables off to the side of the dance floor.
"This food all looks great!!" they exclaimed as they flopped down in the fancy chair, beginning to chow down. Ponyta nudged Cricket and gave them a scolding look, nodding towards where Ffion was and pointing out to Cricket that they'd left their new friend behind! "Oh, sorry.." Cricket's voice was muffled with cheese and pretzels. "Over here, Ffion!!" Cricket called, waving an arm once their mouth wasn't full.
