Gilbert carefully walked across the hills with the egg carefully placed in his arms. He wanted to spend some time with the Noibat egg while he could. He smiled, it was cold today but he had the egg wrapped up in blankets and on a pillow. Thanks to his backpack it could hold up to three eggs at a time. So if anything happened he could place the Noibat egg in there. His plan was to do some training with Birb and Nancy. His faithful companions always travelled with him. Birb was perched on his shoulder, the shiny rowlett enjoying a nap. Nancy however walked, or rather... slithered? Next to Gilbert. Their stare continuing on over the hills.
"Think we'll run into anything exciting?" Gilbert asked Nancy as the shiny ditto giggled along. For sure he and his companions probably would attract some wild attention. Both were of a special coloration, though Gilbert didn't know if wild pokemon cared much about that. He stopped, looking over the hill at the beach a good ten feet away. He sat down on the grass and took in a deep breath, the air was so nice this year around. He loved it, Gilbert hummed carefully rocking the egg back and forth before looking over at Nancy who looked onto the water. It was hard to believe it could be as peaceful as this.
A Poké Ball with 50% chance of capturing a wild Pokémon, with a higher, 80% chance of catching the wild Pokémon if thrown at the very beginning of an encounter.
While Gilbert was sitting there, enjoying the breeze, he noticed something in the grass next to him. Onto his left was what seemed like a pokeball. Gilbert blinked with a bit of confusion using one hand he picked it up careful to still hold the Noibat in his grasp. The pokeball was strange, but within a few moments he was able to identify it as a quickball. "Look Nancy I found a quickball." He showed the ball to the Ditto making them wiggle excitedly. Gilbert grinned giving a bit of a laugh as he placed it in his pocket. It definitely would come into handy later. Gilbert looked at the egg, carefully stroking the top before he decided to stand up again.
"We won't find any pokemon like this I guess. Let's head down to the beach." he began to walk down the hill. His legs hitting the grass until it turned into sand. The water glistened with the sunlight, making Gilbert smile. He wasn't a big fan of water types but he was a breeder! There was no choice of his to just catch whatever he could. Not to mention that he wanted to have all pokemon in his inventory. His team was good as it was, but he dreamed of owning a ranch and opening it up to the local trainers to buy from. The imagary made him grin with glee.
Gilbert was both equally excited and nervous when he saw the seviper crawling through the sand. The snake was probably looking for something to eat, that or had just decided to take a slither down the beach. As he held the Noibat egg he knew that the Seviper probably had come down from the hils. He wasn't sure if they lived in holes or not but regardless he felt Birb perk up at the sight of the pokemon. "Alright Birb it is your time to shine then!" Gilbert called out as he pulled an empty pokeball out from his pocket with his free hand. The Seviper shot up at the sound of his voice, giving a hiss towards the newcomers.
It was rather small for a seviper too wasn't it? Gilbert smiled looking to Birb, "Why don't you start off with a tackle?" Birb shot up into the air. The shiny Rowlet racing forward and slamming into the Seviper's neck. He recoiled back in surprise coughing a bit as the Seviper fought back. Using feint Birb fell for it as it dodged off to one side and then hit her. Making her go flying backwards. "Now Leafage and watch out for that tail." Gilbert gripped his pokeball. As Birb shook herself and glared at the Seviper.
She ran forward or rather flew forward with force. Leaves pulling up and flying at the snake, the Seviper whipped his tail around. The poison hitting her wings as she was forced to land. Gilbert took the chance, throwing the pokeball into the gray. Even if Birb seemed to be recovering, Gilbert bit into his lip watching the ball suck up the pokemon inside. Holding his Noibat egg close to his body he eagerly watched the ball rock back and forth.
Tl;dr: Birb put up a fight, Gilbert threw pokeball as Seviper!
The Seviper was caught! Gilbert jumped in excitement, carefully holding the Noibat egg as he then stepped forward and grabbed it within his hand. He turned to Birb as she panted, her beak open trying to catch her breath from the short rush of the battle. "Look at that Birb! We caught him!" She ruffled her feathers. Hooting before flying back to his shoulder. Nancy moved forward as Gilbert placed the pokeball into his bag since he already had a full team on him he would have to send it to storage. Gilbert stretched a bit as he gave Birb a pet under her beak near where her little bowtie leaves were.
"Alright let's keep going, see if we can find anything interesting." Gilbert led the two down the beach some ways. Searching on the shore and the hills along with the water for any potential wild pokemon. Though maybe he'd level up Birb some, after all she was actually very close to evolving which would be a delight for him! He held the Noibat egg closer to him, wrapping it in its blanket. It still seemed like a far away chance of hatching but in his head he wondered if the Noibat would come out special. Though, all his pokemon were special to him.
Gilbert's passion for eggs was what drew him onward, for pokemon all the same. He was grinning with glee as Birb happily sat on his shoulder now resting from her previous battle with the snake. With Nancy beside him the cool grass drew him onwards. Nestling the Noibat egg in his large arms as he stopped to see another pokemon in the tall grass. Nibbling on what seemed to be an acorn. One closer look at the yellow tail exposed it as a Pikachu. A male one at that judging from the tail Gilbert grinned, Birb wouldn't stand a chance against an electric type like that and with Nancy battle could go on forever which had been a main reason he rarely used her in battle.
Gilbert decided to sit down where he was, now that the Pikachu had noticed him. The pikachu perked his head, cautiously regarding Gilbert for a few more moments. He then noticed something peculair in Gilbert's arms... the egg! Pikachu began to creep closer. Keeping a keen eye on the ditto and the rowlet though he was sure he could take the both of them on. Pikachu came just close enough to sniff the Noibat egg. "Hi there, my name's Gilbert." Gilbert softly introduced himself. The Pikachu startled a bit flinched, backing up as Gilbert shook his head.
"Oh no I didn't mean to startle you, here." He pulled a poketreat out of his pocket. Something he cooked at home for his own pokemon. The Pikachu slowly crept forward, before taking the treat and nibbling on it. Cheeks spreading a bit of electricity in happiness. "Would you care to join my team?" As he said this the Pikachu blantantly turned around to finish his food. "I don't battle much, but if you do like to battle I can! I'm a breeder you see." The pikachu's ears twitched a little at the statement. Eyeing Gilbert as he pulled out a pokeball from behind the Pikachu's back. The pikachu turned again not sure of the pokeball, but at Gilbert gently tossed it the Pikachu curiously touched the ball. A red light engulfed it and the pikachu was sucked inside. Gilbert only hoped that his talk would help the pikachu along to get caught. If not than it just meant he really didn't want to be part of his team.
Tl;dr: Gilbert attempts to befriend Pikachu. He throws a pokeball!

Gilbert stopped at the beach when he noticed something. At first he didn't know what it was, with Birb perking her head. She watched tilting her head to the side, the sand was moving as if it was alive! Then suddenly a shovel popped out of the ground. A Sandygast made itself known and Gilbert jumped a bit almost dropping the noibat egg. "That was a close one." he breathed as he rewrapped the egg within its blankets. He looked at Birb and Nancy for a moment debating if he should use either of them. Then he remembered that he had a special item on him that he wanted to use! He had never used a quick ball before and if it worked than he would have a sandygast at his disposal.
"It's alright Birb, I got this." Gilbert raised a free hand, reaching into his pocket and pulling out the yellow and blue ball. It was definitely an interesting design compared to the normal pokeballs. Gilbert took a few steps forward getting the attention of the Sandygast. The little pokemon didn't seem too happy that it had been disturbed. Before anything could happen though Gilbert touched the button and threw the ball at it. Sucking the sandygast inside it left an indent in the sand. Falling down the ball began to rock back and forth.

The Sandygast was sucked inside of the pokeball and it clicked. Gilbert gave a little dance in his excitement his hair bouncing as he did. Carefully holding his Noibat egg he walked over to the quick ball and quickly picked it up. That was two pokemon caught so far, but maybe instead of catching the next one he should consider leveling up Birb. Perched there onto his shoulder he was sure she was close to evolving as she was. He looked around, wondering what would be a good area to train. Water types weren't very affective against grass so perhaps near the beach!
He began to walk closer to the water. Looking at the waves as he looked over at Nancy also making their way over. The two shiny pokemon seemed to be two in the same as Nancy. Gilbert placed a free hand in the water for a moment feeling the coolness of it. He smiled as Birb made a small chirp upon his shoulder. He cherished moments like this, he couldn't wait to show the Noibat the world.
His peace was interupted when they came up near the grassy hills bordering the beach. A young man was standing there with a pokeball in his hand. Gilbert made eye contact with him and he knew exactly what that meant out here in the wilds. The brown haired trainer came crawling towards him as Birb tilted her head in curiosity. "I'm rising star Merlin and I'm challenging you to a pokemon battle!" he wasted no time. Clicking his pokeball and out popping a Ducklett. If Gilbert was being honest, this didn't seem like too bad of a time. He grinned, "I'm breeder Gilbert, come on Birb let's take this guy down." He held his Noibat egg close as Birb flew forward fully prepared. This gave Gilbert some time to cradle his egg as well.
"Ducklett use Aerial Ace to start!" Gilbert was impressed as the Ducklett sent itself forward. She quickly made an ace of Birb as the rowlet was thrown back by the attack. As far as he knew though the pokemon was a water type and grass type moves were super effective. "Don't mind it Birb, use Leafage!" he said as Birb shook herself to pay more attention. The Rowlett began to shift the leaves around her, as she did she threw them at the Ducklett. Making the pokemon skid backwards with pain. Marlin scoffed, clenching his fist as he looked at Gilbert he wasn't going to give up that easily.
"Water Pulse!" he called out to his pokemon. However, the water type move wasn't very effective. While the water hit Birb, she simply landed shaking herself off. That wasn't so bad! She was still hurt though as Gilbert bit into his lip hoping that this wouldn't turn out bad. "Alright Birb hang in there, use tackle!" he didn't want to overuse leafage or the Ducklett would begin to learn the patterns of his pokemon. Nancy began to jiggle for support as Gilbert held on closely to the warm Noibat egg.
Birb threw hereself at the Ducklett, slamming into it as it was forced back again. Looking tired from the fight, Marlin wasn't going to let this be the end! "Aerial Ace one more time now!" as the Ducklett's wings made contact with Birb it nearly looked as if she was down for the count. "Birb hang in there!" Gilbert called as he clenched his fist, the both of them looked tired. This however would be the deciding move. "Use Leafage, give it all you've got." Gilbert said as Birb let out a chirp. She raised her wings and with a mighty yell pushed the leaves forward. Hitting the Ducklett as her head moved back, until after the attack was over and she fell. Making Merlin return the pokemon to his pokeball.
He gave a sigh and looked at Gilbert, "That was a fine battle... I aspire to be like you." he grinned as Gilbert shook his head. "It was nothing." he walked forward and let Birb perch tiredly on his shoulder huffing from the fight. He would be happy to continue on with the journey.
Tl;dr: Birb has defeated Ducklett, Gilbert beats Rising star Merlin!
Gilbert shifted his Noibat egg in his arms. Carefully giving Birb a bit of support as he decided that maybe they should relax on the side of the beach for a bit. Nancy relaxed with them, the three of them looking out onto the shore as Gilbert lifted up the egg for a quick moment. "You wonder what will hatch?" he half asked Birb perched on his shoulder. The rowlet tilted her head, it was a Noibat egg but he was mostly talking about what if it was shiny maybe a boy or a girl? Either way he was excited to bring the pokemon to life.
It was then that he spotted a wild lapras out on the water. Gilbert looked at it curiously, the pokemon seemed to have taken an interest in them. Gilbert stood up, nestling his Noibat egg once again. The warmth was getting higher and he was happy to feel that. As a breeder he knew it meant that the egg was being well taken care of and with the amount of walking that they'd been doing today he was hoping it would hatch before dark. "What do you say Birb? I know it's a part Ice type but with your grass type moves I don't think you'll have a tough time?" Birb cooed at Gilbert. She nodded her head in agreement.
"Alright then, run in there and give it a leafage show him where its at!" Gilbert said as he pointed to the lapras. The pokemon lifted his head, his ears perked forward. He heard the challenge and it seemed a grin covered his face. He had been staring after all. Preparing though the Lapras took the first attack. As Birb got near from flying she was shot with a water gun, throwing her back with wet wings but she quickly sprung back shaking off the water. Leaves appeared and ran towards the Lapras. Causing the pokemon to rock in the waves as he narrowed his eyes at the opponent.
The Lapras used growl as Birb took the growl with confidence. Gilbert then clenched a free fist, "Use Razor leaf Birb!" Birb raised her wings, visciously the wind picked up with the leaves from the air. They were sent flying, injuring the lapras greatly. One more hit and it seemed like he would be done for but Gilbert watched as the pokemon had a trick up his sleeve. Out came a song and Gilbert watched as Birb listened.
To his dismay Birb began to fall asleep, She quickly tried to land on the shore. Snoring as Gilbert watched the Lapras. He had the advantage now as Gilbert watched the Lapras release another Water gun, again not much of an effect but with Birb asleep she only took damage. Gilbert held his breath, as the lapras sent out a mist and then used a growl against Birb trying to protect itself. It was then that Birb began to awaken and Gilbert knew this was it.
"Now Birb finish it off with a Razor Leaf!" He called, cradling the Noibat egg. Birb shook herself awake, drowsily she flew into the air. Letting forth the attack as it hit the lapras spot on. He sank into the water, as Gilbert watched the fainted pokemon retreat back he quickly ran over to pick Birb up. "I'm so proud of you." he stated as she perched on his free arm. Nancy wiggled with excitement, today was going great for the three of them.
