Somehow, Koray was able to make it across the room and... into a room with creepy dolls. Normally, he wasn't scared of dolls but these... could those eyes stare into his soul or something? Even Rowan didn't like the way they looked at him and exchanged a worried glance with Koray. Well, it looked like the dolls needed to be dressed according to the riddles... hmmm...
The first doll talked about grace, poise, and entertainment. Scanning the options, it was apparent that the doll was a ballerina. The second doll talked of pure hearts and meadows, and also rarity... right, out of the options that had to be a unicorn. The third one was a maiden fair which, out of the options sounded like a princess. Actually, the further Koray read, the more he was convinced that the third doll was indeed a princess especially after reading the bit about a status symbol.
"Alright, Rowan. Dress the first one as a ballerina, yes in the tutu. I'll work on the others," Koray explained, chuckling a little as the Phantump struggled to dress the doll. It was amusing, but after dressing the second doll in the unicorn outfit and the third in the princess outfit, he helped Rowan finish dressing the ballerina. Hopefully he was able to go to the next room. It seemed like he was right at any rate.
You hear a sound of slightly creepy but happy laughter before the door slides open. Congratulations! Onto the next room!
Congratulations! You have advanced to the fourth room!
You have entered the room.
What will you do?
You enter a room littered with pumpkins! Small, medium, and large pumpkins cover the floor, without leaving a clear walkway. Several Pumpkaboo watch from the sidelines. Make 3 Dexterity rolls to see if you can navigate through the pumpkins without tripping on the vines and squishing any. The Pumpkaboo will probably forgive you if you can't make it completely, but still be careful.
Mercifully, the answer had been correct which was a relief to both Koray and Rowan. The creepy laughter he could've certainly done without but oh well, the door was opening and revealed... several Pumpkaboos littering the room. Wasn't that dangerous? Of course, it was just the kind of stunt he'd expect Pippin to pull. Then again, the Pumpkaboo had been raised as a Halloween decoration so it shouldn't surprise Koray that he loved people so much. Still... getting to the other door would prove problematic at best. Too bad Rowan couldn't just make him incorporeal for a few moments. That would make this so much easier.
"Wish me luck..." Koray mumbled, stepping carefully around the Pumpkaboo. Please don't be angry... If the Pumpkaboo so much as moved, he'd be in a heap of trouble.
The Pumpkaboo are thrilled you didn't squish any of their friends! They're so happy they give you 5 Rare Candies! Please update your bag. Onto the next room!
You have entered the room.
What will you do?
You enter a room that looks bigger than it should. In front of you is a pit you cannot see the bottom of. Jutting up from the pit are stone pillars arranged in a 4x4 grid, with just enough space between them that it's possible to fall, but even a clumsy person should be able to jump between them with enough ease.
The tops of the pillars seem to have one glowing button each, and are engraved with images. The row of 4 on the far left side of the room depicts witch hats. The mid-left 4 depict moons. The mid-right 4 depict bats. The far right 4 depict pumpkins. At the front of the room is a backlit plaque with four pictures: A leaf, a wolf, an open set of fangs, and a broom, in that order.
Special note: Staff characters must roll a special die and get 30 or higher for their character to figure out the puzzle, since they know the answer.
Words: 237 | Tag: --- | Notes: pumpkin, moon, bat, witch hat
Mercifully, he managed to avoid all the Pumpkaboos. Good, if he had hit or stepped on one of them Pippin wouldn't have let him live it down. Koray certainly didn't want to hurt a pokemon either so that was another reason he was glad he'd managed to get past them. Right, on to the next room.
This room looked... a little more daunting to say the least of things. There were a bunch of pillars and then some symbols on top of the pillars. At the back looked to be a plaque with four pictures. The answer maybe?"What do you think, Rowan? Could that be a clue?" The Phantump looked puzzled but Koray was already looking around the room. Hmmm. Well, there were moons, bats, pumpkins, and witch hats. So... they could be related to the wall?
Walking up to the pillars, Koray scanned the room and jumped to the pillar on the row closest to them with a pumpkin. Woah, he made it... but this was a little more precarious than he thought. Right, next... a wolf, werewolf so... jump to the closest moon. Whoo, made it. Now... fangs, vampires. Soo... that meant jump to the closest bat. And... got it! That meant the witch hat had to be the last button. If he could just... made it! But... was it the right solution?
All the pillars light up, and the door opens. You guessed correctly! Onto the next room!
Congratulations! You have advanced to the sixth room!
You have entered the room.
What will you do?
You enter a room with walls lined with shelves containing all sorts of spooky oddities. To one side is a bubbling cauldron watched over by a Mismagius, and next to it a wrack of ingredients with a sign: "Complete the brew." Use the big wooden spoon to stir in ingredients, making a Cooking roll!
As the door opened, Koray breathed a sigh of relief. Good, so he'd guessed right after all. Rowan scurried in after him and both stopped suddenly when they saw a Mismagius next to a cauldron. Complete the brew? Immediately, a huge grin appeared on Koray's features. This was more his speed certainly and he was already looking at the ingredients to see if there was either some sort of recipe he could follow or if the Mismagius had any clue as to what to use. Well, from the looks of it there wasn't anything added to the pot... No, that's not right either. The instructions said to complete the brew, not make something new.
"Alright, Rowan... what ingredients do you think we should use?" Koray asked, not sure what he should choose. None of these ingredients were familiar to him... if only there was a recipe... Oh! It looked like there was an open book by the cauldron. Oh... ew... he hoped he wouldn't have to drink this gastly concoction afterwards. "So... eye of newt, calf's snout... and graveyard dust? Can you find any of those?" It looked like there were other ingredients already in the brew but those might be the only ones missing.
Rowan found the missing ingredients fairly easily and even added them in to the pot. All that was left was to stir and see what the Mismagius thought of the brew. Hopefully this did the trick.
The Mismagius seems pleased with the brew! She takes a taste, then gathers 4 Rare Candies from one of her shelves to give you. Onto the next room!
You have entered the room.
What will you do?
You enter a room lit by a single torch in its center. Six candles line the walls. On the left wall is a green, a red, and a purple candle. On the right wall is a yellow, an orange, and a blue. Each candle is also labeled for the colorblind. A backlit plaque reads: "Do not fear the storm. It comes after."
Special note: Staff characters must roll a special die and get 30 or higher for their character to figure out the puzzle, since they know the answer. Remove this if no one is staff.
Koray couldn't help but grin when the Mismagius seemed to enjoy the brew. It seemed that he had followed the recipe correctly after all! Good. What he hadn't been expecting however was the treats he was given after the fact. Hazel eyes grew wide at the sight of the rare candy and he couldn't help but grin. "Wow! Thanks a lot, Mismagius!" Koray replied, waving goodbye before wandering into the next room.
Rowan followed close behind as the door clicked shut behind them. Hmm, this was something quite interesting and not unlike the other rooms with the puzzles. Do not fear the storm...it comes after... Sounded like a... rainbow perhaps? Eyes flicked over to the candles, each a different color of the rainbow. Seems like I just have to arrange it in order, huh. Easy enough. "Alright Rowan, gather up the candles and arrange them in the color of a rainbow." The Phantump nodded and gathered the candles. First, red, then orange, yellow...green...blue, indigo... violet. Or well, the purple candle was close enough. Hopefully this works.
The door lights up with a rainbow glow before sliding open. Congratulations! Onto the next room!
Congratulations! You have advanced to the eighth room!
You have entered the room.
What will you do?
You enter a dimly lit room with three doors. In front of each door is an Eeveelution, one Vaporeon, one Flareon, and one Jolteon. A backlit plaque near the entrance reads: "Two tell lies. One tells the truth." Make a perception roll. (This is not tied to a Skill, it's just a flat die roll.)
Koray grinned when he saw the door light up. He'd gotten it right after all! "Good job, Rowan! We did it!" Koray cheered, entering the next room and squinting a bit at the dim lighting. Oh, so it looked like there were Eeveelutions in this room, how cute! Hmmm... but like the other rooms, there had to be some kind of puzzle, right?
A brief scan of the room revealed the plaque in front of Koray. Alright, this was probably the hint that he needed in order to pass to the next room. "Two tell lies... One tells the truth..." Koray murmured, looking over at Rowan, "Who do you think is telling the truth?" If he had to make a guess, he'd say Vaporeon was truthful but... what exactly was meant by 'lies' anyway? He couldn't exactly speak to these Eeveelutions like he could with Rowan. Maybe there's some kind of trick?
It's almost hidden by the dark lighting, but you notice the Vaporeon has a Zorua's tail! Furthermore, you can see that the Jolteon has cyan slitted eyes like a Zoroark! That leaves only the Flareon! Will you go through its door?
It would be Rowan that drew Koray's attention to the Vaporeon's almost invisible tail in the darkness. Wait a minute... That looked a lot like Mabel's tail. A Zorua? That had to be what the plaque meant by two liars. With this in mind, Koray looked at the remaining Eeveelutions closely and noticed that the Jolteon's eyes looked rather strange. Hmmm...
Smiling softly, Koray stepped towards the Flareon and gave it a pat before choosing to walk through door behind it. This is the right choice...hopefully. Oh well, it was Koray's best guess at that point.
As you open the door, the other two Eeveelutions revert to a Zorua and Zoroark! The foxes all cheer for you. Onto the next room!
You have entered the room.
What will you do?
You enter a room that is lit only by a large moon-shaped light in the center of the ceiling, tiny LED stars that cover the rest of the ceiling like a night sky, and one dimly backlit plaque with instructions: "Pick a partner and sing".
A Midday, Midnight, and Dusk form Lycanroc sit around the room, howling at the false moon. Each has a small barrel hanging from their neck. Choose a Lycanroc and make a Performance roll! Players may choose the same or different Lycanroc.
After making it through the last room, Koray was hopeful that he'd be able to make it through after all. Seeing the prompt to sing with the Lycanroc, Koray exchanged glances with Rowan and stepped forward. There were three different Lycanroc in the room and well... the Dusk and Midday were adorable, but the Midnight looked more Halloween-esque. Maybe that was the right choice? Stepping over to the Midnight Lycanroc, he bowed to it and started to sing Jack's Lament. All that he could do was try, right? Right. Besides, this was a song he knew well after a certain showcase that had gotten cancelled. It seemed to suit the Lycanroc considering it was swaying to the song and even howling along a little. That was a good sign, right?
The Lycanroc is pleased with your performance, and gives you 4 Rare Candies out of its neck barrel! Please update your bag! Onto the next room!
You have entered the room.
What will you do?
You enter a room which at first appears eerily empty save for an ornate coffin lying in its center. You hear a faint sound from above, and realize the ceiling is littered with sleeping, hanging Golbat. There are three small puzzles attached to the coffin. Make a Dexterity roll so see if you can successfully align all the proper pieces. You only need to solve as many puzzles as there are players.
The Lycanroc thankfully liked the song and even gave him a gift! What luck! Smiling at the Lycanroc, Koray pet the good doggo and went on to the next room. Oh... woops, there's a lot of Golbat around. Gesturing for Rowan to be quiet, he walked over to the coffin. There seemed to be some kind of puzzles attached? Hmm... ok, it looked like all he had to do was solve the puzzle? Alright then. The Phantump looked a little nervous with all of the Golbat, but he wasn't about to interrupt Koray's concentration on the puzzle. These pieces were really pretty tiny... hmmm....
The puzzle clicks into a perfect place, and your section of the coffin opens up, revealing 4 Rare Candies. Onto the next room!
You have entered the room.
What will you do?
You enter a long dining hall filled with ornate gleaming furniture and amazing massive paintings lining the walls. Unlike the rooms in the maze, this one feels warm, well-lit, and pristinely maintained, an oddity in what is supposed to be an abandoned home for sure! Several Pokemon come up to you and cheer, taking turns handing over items to you! When they are done, they cheer once more, then your world goes black and you feel like you're spinning. You are suddenly back at the entrance, your prizes still in hand. Seems you weren't welcome to stay long in that private space, but you can rest knowing you've achieved something, and probably seen a glimpse of a life in this house that few others have seen!
You have received: 3 Dusk Balls, 12 Rare Candies, 450 PD, a Shiny Powder, and 3 OOC Gems!
Once Eri had been yeeted out of the maze, she was confused, and slightly lost- and Carinae wouldn't stop screeching. So she'd found herself sitting by the wall outside the door that led to the maze, bouncing and cooing gently to the newly hatched baby in order to make him feel better about everything. For all the Novae knew, Koray might not even come out this door! And if it wasn't in the fates for him to show up here, then she could go in like.. an hour, probably.
Carinae's cries had died down to soft sliffles, and the Ralt was cradelled to her chest, gently pulling and twisting at her hair as the star guide giggled to herself. "Yes! The stars graced me with two-toned hair? Isn't it fluffy?" She brought a hand down to gently pat the pokemon, who leaned into her touch and yanked a little harder at her hair, causing the girl to snort softly- he was far too cute. She was about to tell him off when a familiar form was seen out of her peripheral vision...
Oh! "Sirius!" She called out, raising the one hand not holding Carinae from her spot on the floor to gesture him over.
After finishing the puzzle, Koray half expected to find another room with another puzzle. What he found however, was a well lit room and several Pokemon cheering him for his success. It was...ok, maybe it was worth the grief he'd had at the beginning of the maze. No sooner had he been given several prizes that the world spun around him and... oh, he guessed he wasn't permitted to stay longer. Rowan too was a little disoriented but seemed to brighten when he saw Eri and Carinae were fine. It would take Koray a few moments to recognize that he was out and still longer to recognize that Eri was sitting in front of him with the Ralts in her arms.
It didn't take too long for Koray to put the prizes away and close the distance to Eri, wrapping his arms around her and holding her perhaps a little tighter than was necessary. "I'm so glad you're alright..." Koray murmured, his voice shaking a little. Maybe it had just been an illusion, but it was clear her sudden disappearance had shaken him to the core.
