Shalin paddled her way to Levy, having to sit close to her tail just to keep the Buizel within contact. The water-type's Poké Ball glinted in Senara's light. Shalin smiled at the cute wild Pokémon, now wishing she had sent back someone else instead of Prower. "Come on, that's not yours," she said, outstretching and opening her hand to the Buizel. "May I have it back please?" Being nice about it didn't seem to help. She turned toward Senara. "I think the little one wants it more than I do," the green-clad girl said to her in a somewhat forced laugh. "No big deal - it's replaceable."
Dejected, Shalin gently pat Levy's tail. "Could you gently swing your tail over toward Crepe? I'm going to need to recapture you, as this Buizel is being a party pooper. And greedy." Levy gently did as asked, allowing the blonde to climb up Crepe's fin. Once she felt balanced, she procured an empty Poké Ball and touched it to the Milotic, using it to recapture him. That annoyance past her, Shalin scampered onto Crepe's back, behind Senara. "Lead the way!"

The new Pokeball... didn't seem to want to work? The red light reached out to serpentine Pokemon but then seemed to bounce off a couple of times. That was right, Pokemon needed to be released from one Pokeball to be caught by another. And that Buizel was making a beeline through the water of down the way with said Pokeball. Better follow it.

"You may need to rethink you plan." Senara's lips pursed up when the ball failed to re-catch the Milotic, and when the Buizel seemed to realize it was about to lose its shiny toy, it darted off in the black water towards the further darkness. With a small annoyed sigh Senara turned her body forward on Crepe, patting him on the head between his "horns". "Follow after it, and once you're close enough, hit it with a supersonic."
Crepe nodded as best a Mantine could nod, a low sound bubbling out from beneath him, and the five of them--two humans, a Sableye, a very cramped Milotic, and Crepe--were off down the underground stream after a very annoying Buizel. Senara kept her light directed towards the water, keeping an eye out for glints of red as an indicator of the Buizel's location. They needed to hit it enough for it to drop the ball, then they could go.

Once Crepe and Senara had left the small underground lake and back to the river leading farther down into the cave, Levy was able to stretch his tail and meaningfully swim again. Her large frame completely unwound, she took off after the Buizel, listening for the telltale hum of its whirling tails. She knew the Buizel line were among the fastest Water-types, and catching it would likely require coordination from both of the pursuers.
Shalin bobbed above and below the surface as Levy built up speed, water loudly splashing everywhere behind him. "Heads up Senara!" she called out to her friend, the Milotic rapidly closing in. "Levy, get ready to pass Crepe, then shoot a Water Pulse at it when you're close enough!" She leaned completely down on her serpentine Pokémon, wrapping her arms around his body the best she could as he further accelerated. The two later surfaced in front of the Mantine, Shalin hoping the Milotic's thrashing tail didn't graze their partner's Pokémon in the process.
The Bizel had a good lead and was very quick. It whipped around some corners and managed to avoid the Water Pulse and Supersonic for- for a short bit at least-- until it seemed to go toppling through the water and through a large cave hole. Should they follow, they'd... find an interesting little tunnel 'ending'.
Sunlight from tiny holes carved up through the rock shined bright in the darkness reflecting off... numerous coins, rocks, and priceless treasures it seemed the Buizel had been storing away up to that point... Including a few Pokeballs?? Whoops.
Aurgh, the damn thing was too quick in the water, and it new the current better than Crepe did by a long shot. Senara muttered a quick series of Kalosian curses as they started losing sight of it through the water. What was the worst that can happen? There had to be a way to un-catch a Pokemon without the ball, right? That felt like super faulty design if there wasn't. She'd never lost a ball or had one stolen, though, so she had no idea if that was the case. And if that was the case, then wouldn't a stolen Pokemon be able to fly off to their original trainer to get re-caught by them?
That...makes sense, but...
Senara didn't like to think about it, so she chose not to. They'd found something much more interesting than musing over pokeball mechanics anyway. Oh, goodness, that was a LOT of shiny things in one space. Senara's eye lit up, hand rising to cover her mouth as it split into a grin. "Le cul plaqué brillant d'Arceus! That's a treasure trove if I've ever seen one!" Baby Girl made a noise somewhere between a squeal and a purr and started hopping up and down on her shoulder. If the coins and stones were under the water, she'd need to find a ledge to stand on so Crepe could grab some. If it wasn't, though, she would reach for some of the stones herself. Money was fine, sure, but she was far more interested in rocks than coins.
Though...those pokeballs were interesting as well. They were empty, right? She would need to make sure, because if not, well, they might be trapped in there. Maybe there was even a reward for missing Pokemon, if they'd been recently brought here...?
At the very least, the somewhat faster Milotic could keep the Buizel in sight. Knowing the tunnels was a big advantage - Shalin was forced to react to every twist and turn. Adjusting to the shifting current was difficult for the Water-type as well, Levy seemingly not reacting to some of his rider's commands. It took the girl a couple of wide turns to get the general idea of how the current was affecting Levy, but it was too late - she just barely caught a glimpse of the Buizel tumbling into a surprisingly well-lit cove.
Distracted by Senara's scream, Shalin's eyes left the Buizel for a second or two. There was a lot of treasure down here--it looks like the Buizel was an experienced thief. She could have sworn she even saw some specialty Poké Balls in the mix. Levy flipped his tail around to try to kill his speed and avoid crashing into the end of the tunnel. He managed to slow down just enough to arc along the far wall, keeping her eyes open for the bubble-trail the Buizel had been leaving, as well as her ears open for the sound of its tails humming. "Did you see that thief drop my Poké Ball?" Shalin asked Senara, raising her voice a little.
The coins and stones and multitude of shiny things seemed to practically grow up from below the water offering places to stand. There were also a few ledges over the water as well. What one would find was that among the Pokeballs deposited into the shiny treasure trove, one of them was actually the missing one. Well, that was good. The other pair, should they be released… actually did contain Pokemon— a confused looking Wartortle… and a distressed looking Absol? Oh, poor things.

Using Crepe as a platform more than a raft--look, he was a large boy, he was fine--she took up the pokeballs, holding them out to Shalin to look over and, hopefully, recognize. Senara then pressed the button to release whatever was inside the other two. Her eye went wide. A Wartortle and an Absol? They looked just as confused as she did to see them. A moment's thought passed through her mind--if they were left here or lost here, then she and Shalin could take one a piece and it would be fine, right? But thinking of if it were Baby Girl who'd been lost and stolen like this...no, she couldn't even entertain the thought of keeping them. She extended her hand to both of them. "Hey, now...it looks like you two got snagged by a Buizel and brought down here. We can get you out and try to find your trainers. You'll just need to travel with us for a little while, okay?"
Baby Girl chittered at the other Dark-type Pokemon. She could related to it--they both had reputations of being bad luck or misfortune. Then again, so did many Dark-types.

Shalin took a look at all the Poké Balls Senara was holding. There were a lot of them. It took a bit of sifting, but she recognized hers instantly - there was a green decal at its white bottom. "Aha! This is the one," she confirmed with her partner. She quickly recalled and re-summoned the Milotic to verify she indeed had the correct one. "Phew...crisis averted," she breathed a big sigh of relief, briefly shivering. Being exposed to the cold air after doing all that swimming wasn't exactly helping her any, and there was nowhere near enough room for Caprice to stand.
When Senara emptied the contents of the trove of Poké Balls, she was befuddled to find two of them were occupied with a Wartortle and Absol. Absol were particularly rare, and Wartortle were almost never seen in the wild, period. Shalin quizzically stared at her fellow adventurer for a few seconds, collecting her thoughts before letting out another sigh. "I have a really bad feeling about this...like we've walked into a trap. Best case, this Buizel has been abandoned by a trainer up to no good. Worst case, it's trained to...I don't even want to think about it." Levy tensed up at her trainer's words, ready to charge at anything that moved into the tunnel next.
The Wartortle looked at the humans trying to understand what was happening. He nodded at Senara’s assurances and gave a small salute. The Absol was much less calm. She starting pacing with as little room as she had. Looking at Baby Girl, she started to ask where her trainer was and then immediately began to describe her: a bright, friendly girl who she hoped wasn’t lost here or something. There seems to be no sign of the Buizel right then, so maybe it had run off through the water therein. The Absol glanced up at the lights peering through the ceiling and immediately started to form a Razor Wind to knock some of the rocks loose— which could possibly fall and cause problems, of course.
"Please. There's no way somebody would have a reliable way to get to this stash if it was a trap. We found it by total accident, and by solving some weird puzzle-trap-thing. We'd totally hear the rumbling from the next room if somebody was coming through."
And what kind of thief would leave their belongings pirate-style in a cave like this? There were some huge idiots in the world but she wanted to believe that nobody would be that stupid. There was a reason she kept her "catches" locked up tight where she knew not a soul could get to them. Not that that was anything to think about now. They had time to collect the shiny things in here and make a rush for the exit before an angry Buizel came back looking for their baubles. Or...well, that had been her plan, before the Absol decided to throw a giant wrench in it. By beginning to charge up an attack aimed up.
Does it want to bring the whole cavern down?! Aren't Absols' supposed to be smart?!
"BÉBÉ FILLE, BLUFF!!" Senara managed to shout, and her outstretched arm provided her Sableye the perfect running path to leap right into the Absol's face. With claws out and ready to strike she appeared to be moving in for a slash, but at the last second--
CLAP!! Baby Girl used Fake-Out! [Weak Attack (40), 90% Accuracy] [Will cause Flinch if it hits!]
Baby Girl brought her paws together right in the Absol's ear, the sound hopefully enough to cause the damn thing to flinch before it caused any more trouble!!
Shalin was a bit skeptical to believe Senara at first, but she did bring up a point. She may have been overthinking things. Then again, she wasn't as experienced at delving ruins and caves as the cheerful, green-clad rider was. "I'm planning on filing a report with the local Rangers - see if a Wartortle and Absol inside this cave match any missing Pokémon reports. The gold we split fifty-fif--"
Suddenly, a whirlwind was forming around a very menacing-looking Absol that was staring toward what looked like a very unstable ceiling. By the time Shalin could shout for Levy, the Milotic was already on the case, swimming in a corkscrew to reverse his direction and face the rogue Absol. "Water, Pulse, Levy!" The water-type opened her large maw, feelers waving up and down as a sinusoidal wave of water raced toward the dark-type trying to make sure the explorers didn't leave the cave alive.
Water Pulse PWR/ 60 {MID ATTACK} ACC/100 Hit: Confusion (20%)
The clap freezes the Absol and the Water Pulse manages to knock her straight off her feet. She's stunned and confused and upset ready to throw out more attacks at the ceiling unless you return her. Best just to try and find an exit out, though. There's light coming from somewhere, and one of those rocks atop some of the other rocks and coins actually does look moveable as opposed to supporting.
The goddamn MOMENT the stupid Absol had been stunned and knocked asunder, Senara grabbed the ball that had been its home and slammed her thumb against the button in the center to return it. Damn thing could have caused a cave-in and gotten them all killed! Hopefully it was returned without a fuss. She was going to expect a pretty good reward for getting this ding-bat back to its trainer, that was for damn sure.
"...well, that was exhilarating." She grumbled, lowering the arm that had been out-stretched with the pokeball in it. She slid it into the pocket of her bag and zipped said pocket up tight. No more surprises, thanks. She did the same with the far calmer Wartortle. "Now what were you saying about splitting it? Half and half? Fine by me. Just help me collect it and let's find a way through." She stepped off of Crepe and onto the rocks holding the treasures, collecting as many as her admittedly packed satchel could manage. It would be fine. She needed more space for whatever stones there were scattered about in here! "Don't suppose you have a Pokemon that can move that stone? All of mine are kind of small and squishy. Or don't have arms."
Baby Girl hissed in disagreement. Senara leveled her gaze at them. "Eh bien, pourquoi n'allez-vous pas le pousser?" Silence from the Sableye. "C'est ce que je pensais."
Phew, that was a close call - a cave-in in a location this remote would mean little to no hope for survival. "Quick thinking, Senara!" Shalin complimented, breathing a big sigh of relief herself. The rocks that the treasure was sitting on looked a little unstable, but nothing she couldn't handle. "I'm a little low on supplies, so I should be able to fit in my bag whatever you can't. We'll sort it out when we make camp today."
As the two scooped up the relics and coins piled in the chamber's corner, she heard Senara point out a big stone and that her Pokémon were all too small. None of Shalin's Pokémon had arms either - they were all quadrupedal, aerial, or aquatic. "It's not ideal, but Prance, my Stantler, could probably shove the rock aside once we pick up enough of this loot that she can actually stand there," the green girl sheepishly suggested. "It's too far away from the water for Levy to reach, and the rest of my squad has the same size problem. I'm just afraid she might slip." Unbeknownst to her, the Stantler shot her trainer a confused look from within the Poké Ball.
After the two had cleaned up and stowed most of the gold and relics, there was plenty of room for Prance to stand. Shalin released the tall, horned Normal-type atop the natural shelf. "Alright, Prance, we need you to get this big rock out of the way. Think you can do it?" The Stantler confidently nodded. Her antlers not designed for pushing heavy objects, she aligned flush with the center of the rock and let out a grunt as she pushed against it.
Shalin had to set her pack down - it was getting very heavy with most of the cave's hoard in it. "Phew! There was a lot!" Shalin remarked through a heavy breath. "Might have to load up Prance and just walk to the nearest town to sort all of this out...once I figure out where we are." After a louder grunt from Prance, Shalin could have sworn the lighting inside the cove increased... Senara continued grabbing more of the treasure, putting the stones in first--because that was her interest--and coins in after. It was only while Shalin was distracted by directing her Stantler that she recalled a certain trick she'd seen from a...business associate. Taking out Baby Girl's pokeball she held out a good handful of coins to the Sableye, who looked at her in a moment's confusion. Those weren't shiny stones, why was she giving them to her? Senara rolled her eye and put them into Baby Girl's paws. "Nous pouvons stocker une partie de l'excédent dans mes pokeballs, tant que vous les tenez. Je peux faire de même avec le reste de l'équipe." Baby Girl managed to do the pause-and-blink face without eyes to actually, you know, blink, but nodded after the logic settled in. Senara then returned her with a flash of red light, and the coins went along with her.
Hm, it would be very easy to put a lot of things into her party's pokeballs and hide them from Shalin. Would it be worth it though? The girl had been nothing but friendly toward Senara thus far, and if she was being perfectly honest the only thing on her worth taking was that fire stone she'd flaunted. Senara wasn't going to try to pick-pocket her. But skimming a few coins of the top...wouldn't hurt, right? She quickly slid even more into the pokeballs of her other Pokemon, watching them disappear in beams of red light.
