[attr="class","tysontext"]"Ah, umm, thank you!" Tyson thanked the stranger who he had asked for directions to the Pokémon Professor's Lab before running off in the direction they had told him. He wasn't in his Warlock role today, as he wouldn't want to leave a bad or strange first impression on the Professor. Tyson was excited to get his first Pokémon in the Arciel region. Of course, this wasn't his first Pokémon ever, he had a few Pokémon of his own back in Kalos, but since he wasn't allowed to bring them along on this journey he had to start over. He slowed his pace once a building came into sight. It was much smaller than Tyson had expected of an important place like this.[break][break]He knocked on the door twice before entering, looking around for whoever was the Pokémon Professor of this region. It suddenly hit him that he didn't know the Professor's name. Maybe someone told him, but if that was the case Tyson had definitely forgotten it. "Umm... Professor?" he called out nervously. Let's hope the Professor was actually here.

[attr="class","momoPBody"] The Professor was in fact here, though she was in the back room when Tyson came in. Still, she heard someone calling, and set aside an article she'd been reading to go see what the fuss was about. Walking out into the main part of the lab, she spotted the newcomer, a young man. She almost asked if she could help him, but then thought better of it. She knew that look on his face. "I take it you're here for a Pokemon?" she asked. Then, a little softer, "You didn't make an appointment, I see." If only she knew that his lack of preparation extended to not even knowing her name, but fortunately she did not. "It's all right, we do walk-ins when we're not too busy. You came at a good hour," she assured him. "But I do need you to fill out some forms."

Once Tyson was done, she took the papers and looked over them, trying to get a feel for who he was and which Pokemon would suit him. "Hmmm... All right, let's see how you feel about these," she said, going to retrieve three PokeBalls from the back case before coming back to Tyson and releasing three Pokemon.

[attr="class","tysontext"]Wait, he should've made an appointment? Why in the world had nobody told him he needed to make an appointment? Oh, good, he could still get his starter Pokémon. There was a "but" here, though, he needed to fill out some forms before he could get a Pokémon. Well then, time to fill some forms. Tyson didn't say a lot, actually he didn't say anything at all, he just nodded along and looked over the form before starting to fill it out. It was pretty easy, though there were some more difficult parts! The Professor looked over the papers before she walked away for a moment and returned with three Pokéballs.[break][break]Once the Pokémon were out of their Pokéballs, Tyson looked over them. The first one that got his attention was a fairly large Pawniard, who didn't interact with any of the other Pokémon at the moment. One of the other two quickly got his attention once he remembered what kind of Pokémon it was. "An Absol..." he whispered to himself. He knew Absol was known for its ability to predict disasters, and that it would be an amazing companion for his Warlock-self. The third Pokémon the Professor had chosen for him was a Sableye, and while Tyson thought it was a pretty cool one he didn't quite feel a connection with it like he did with the Absol or the Pawniard. Tyson hummed a bit while thinking about which one to choose. Absol would be a very good Pokémon choice theme-wise, but he noticed the Pawniard looked a bit lonely while the other two Pokémon were interacting with each other. He walked over to the Pawniard and kneeled down so he could look it in the eye better. "Would you like to go on an adventure with me, be my partner?" he asked the Sharp Blade Pokémon, who didn't really respond and averted her gaze from Tyson's. "Yes, we're gonna be a great team," Tyson smiled at the Pawniard before getting up again and looking back at the Professor, "I'll pick this one."

[attr="class","momoPBody"] Ne seemed to be taking a good moment to look over the starter options carefully, but didn't look disappointed. That was good! Sometimes Trainers felt an instant connection with one and didn't really even look at the others, which could be a wonderful thing, but there was always the slightest worry that it was impulse making the decision, too. Some trainers took a while because they didn't like any of the options, which always made her feel a bit bad that she hadn't gotten an accurate read on them from their info; she did always try to pick things they'd like, after all. But Tyson seemed to just be putting a reasonable amount of thought into which he wanted, which she appreciated.
Holly smiled gently as Tyson made his choice. "I'm sure she'll make a fine partner," Holly said with a nod. "Do you have any questions or anything, or are you ready to start your adventure?"

[attr="class","tysontext"]"Hmm..." Tyson tried to think of any important things he might be forgetting, but his mind drew kind of a blank on important questions to ask. He had already been a trainer back in Kalos after all, so at least he had some experience. "No, I think I'm ready to start my adventure here in Arciel," he said, "Thank you for your time, Professor." He was going to pet his Pawniard on the head to show her some affection, but as soon as the sharp edges of her arms moved towards his hand, he quickly moved his arm away from her. Getting cut by his new Pokémon partner on their first day together wasn't something he would want. "I'll get going now" Tyson said as he picked up the Pokéball that belonged to the Pawniard, "Once again, thank you for your time."
