No Pressure, No Diamond

Sage wasn't sure what to expect from Sid. She knew they had a Rotom, and then the sword pokemon they had been using. It seemed like the sword pokemon was fairly close in level to her own, but it had also taken a beating, like her own pokemon. What would Sid decide?

Her nervousness turned to shock as their Rotom set off a powerful attack. "Oh no..." Sage gasped out, following Sid as they hurried over to the pokemon. "What should we..." She cut herself off as she realized Sid was removing supplies from their pack. "Oh you're a nurse! That explains... a lot" Well not really, but it did explain their concern for her wellbeing earlier. 

"Anything I can do to help?" She asked, though she stayed a bit back out of their way, to give them the space they needed. She jsut didnt like to watch and not do anything to help.

“Ah, yep,” Sid replied to the exclamation with little more than afterthought now. “Humans and Pokemon…” But right then Pokemon specifically. The bird twitched some, and Sid’s attention returned entirely to it once more.

Darn, it was paralyzed too. Where did they put that medicine again? Here we go. A quick spray of their medical grade paralyze heal was enough to have the Oricorio flapping its wings again. “Calm down calm down calm—“ Sid received an angry Peck for their troubles and immediately pulled back their hand. “Would you mind holding it still? I don’t think it’s strong enough to pull away just yet, but medicine is sort of an arduous struggle for humans and Pokemon alike…”

Sid looked back to Sage and offered a smile. “Just set your hands over its wing spread like this…” they made a small gesture, and the Oricorio screamed for their efforts. “Shhhh shhhh it’ll be alright Odoridori, you fought a hard battle.” The bird looked from Sage to Sid and then backa gain, more defiance in his gaze than ever before. He just wanted to scramble away and lick his wounds. He didn’t want to be shamed with their help in turn.

Okay after a rest Im back and better than ever!

Sage watched nervously as Sid worked at the Oricorio. Well at least they looked like they knew what they were doing, Sage would have been hopeless had she tried to fix up the poor pokemon. 

She smiled when the Oricorio started flapping around again, but winced as it pecked Sid. When they asked her to try to help hold the pokemon down, she nodded and moved to do so. 

"Of course, that's easy! You're doing the hard part." She agreed as they mentioned how rough healing could be. 

Despite her assertion, it wasnt easy, even though she followed Sid's instructions. The Oricorio was not pleased at being manhandled at all, and protested and struggled vehemently. Soon Sage was breathing hard, trying to keep her face and arms out of the reach of the Oricorio's beak. She had to keep flicking her head back, as strands of hair fell into her face and eyes. 

"Any--" pant "luck?" She gasped out, hoping Sid would be done soon.

With Sage’s assistance, Sid found it easier to work. Though the Oricorio struggled still, they could at least focus on smaller parts of the bird now rather than having to worry about all of it. They got kicked a few times, but it was nothing compared to being pecked at. Their hands worked smoothly, and soon they were coming to a close. “Almost there—“ they replied to Sage’s words before finally going “Done!”

They let go of what hold they had maintained on the Oricorio and hoped that Sage would release the bird as well. Once it had struggled away either way, the Oricorio checked over his plumage and then scowled at the two humans before turning and fleeing finally. Sid physically deflated some and sighed softly. “My, what an unruly patient…” they smiled, though, looking sideways at Sage. “Thank you for your help.”

Sage held on as Sid continued to work on the Oricorio. Since she was holding it, it couldnt flail nearly as bad, but she could tell it still wasnt happy. "A little ungrateful dontcha think." She muttered at the pokemon. Thankfully Sid finished up quickly, and as soon as they released it she followed suit, letting go and jumping back. It didnt take long to run away.



She nodded at Sid's words. "You would think it would appreciate not being hurt anymore. And of course, you're welcome!" She looked off towards where the pokemon had escaped. "That was pretty rough on my pokemon." She said with a sigh. "I might need to head back to see if the nurses at the pokemon center can help them out. What about you, are your pokemon okay?" She asked Sid.



Sure she had potions, and Sid was right there as a nurse, but she wasnt going to assume they would help her and her pokemon, so she didnt really ask. If she needed to head back to town to fix up her pokemon she would survive. They were more important.

A small, forced laugh came and went from Sid at Sage’s assessment. They would have appreciated a thank you, but they already knew that it probably wasn’t coming. Packing away their supplies again, they hummed a little to themselves. I may have to restock soon… The clinic would have plenty of supplies, but this was more of a personal stash, so they’d need to be vigilant regarding it. And with that said….They could probably help Sage’s Pokemon, but it would be much easier and more efficient at a clinic. “I … think I may head back and have them looked at. I’d rather not have to resort to Glitch again,” they admitted softly. “Want to walk back together?” They smiled a little. If so, they’d start walking.
