Somewhere deep in their heart, Sid knew that they would never return to Kanto of their own volition. The world outside their mother’s walls of traditionalism and hard work was so much greener than they could ever have imagined. Still, if it made someone feel connected in another way, they were willing to say that.
A small smile came and went from their features at the returned thanks. As the Pokeball was held up to them, Sid blinked a couple of times at it before registering what Koray meant. “Oh, right, thanks,” they answered taking the Pokeball and pocketing it. “Ah….” their eyes raised to the cameras across the ice again. They could probably get them the same as they had set them up beforehand.
Rather than pull on their skates again, though, they were pulling their shoes out of their bag and pulling those on instead. “I’m done for now, I need to screen my photos and run some image software back home.” They answered. “Are you sure you're well enough to skate?”
Koray nodded at Sid's thanks and retrieved the Spiritomb's pokeball. He would need to practice with him quite a bit before he was comfortable releasing them again. Thank goodness ghosts don't need to eat. It would have been cruel to keep the Spiritomb in his pokeball otherwise. Lacing up his skates, Koray was more than ready to get back out on the ice. He'd take it slow at first certainly but it would help his overall mood certainly.
Nodding at Sid's explanation about being done for the time being, Koray smiled at their concerned question, "I'm well enough," he assured, stretching a little bit before attempting to go out on the ice. "I need to move, anyway... Dancing has always been calming to me and ice skating is as close as I'll get right now." Arceus knew he needed some sort of outlet after meeting the Spiritomb.
After a moment, Koray stepped out onto the ice. He was a little shaky at first but got the hang of it well enough. The cameras would be retrieved easily and handed back to Sid thereafter. "Here you go. Maybe next time we can do something together?" Koray asked, smiling lightly.
Sid’s lips pressed together, but they nodded. “Alright…” They didn’t quite understand how dancing could be calming considering all the work involved, but Sid wasn’t going to question a niche interest when they were who they were. They watched him carefully skate and retrieve the cameras and would take them gently once they were produced. Setting them carefully in camera cases and into their big duffle bag, they glanced up again only after. “Let’s swap Instachu profiles and talk from there…” they answered.
By the time Koray retrieved the cameras, he was feeling quite a bit more comfortable on the ice. Maybe he'd be able to work on a few more complicated moves since it appeared the problematic kids weren't on the ice at the moment. If he could perfect those, it would be easier to pull off more of the complicated dance moves as well. Not that he had to worry about recitals or contests coming up right then. Still, it was a personal goal he had and the challenge was something Koray enjoyed.
The offer to swap Instachu profiles earned a nod as Koray looked towards Rowan who promptly retrieved Koray's phone, handing it over to his trainer. "Thanks, Rowan~," Koray hummed, unlocking the phone before going to the messaging app. Wow, I missed a lot of notifications... Nevermind a lot of them were from a certain someone he didn't want to think about right then. "Alright, here we are... oh, wait, you said Instachu right?" Koray murmured, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly, "I have Chubook but that's about it," he continued, smiling a bit apologetically.
Hmmmm???? Sid looked up from their phone and blinked a couple of times. Who in the modern era didn’t have an Instachu these days? Well, technically they did have an old Chubook account, but how long ago had they even used it? Eh, let’s see. “I can’t remember if I’ve got a public profile or not, try looking up Sidney Ridley…” They then flicked around and redownloaded Chubook before quickly signing in. Ah yeah, it had been almost a year since they had signed in last. Times changed, hahahaha. Ah well.
Sure enough, Koray would see that their profile was available to be found and he’d also notice their location read Kanto rather than Arciel. Once he sent the friend request, Sid would accept it and then flip to the messenger to text -- How’s this? -- Good enough.
Koray shrugged a little at the reaction Sid gave at hearing he didn't have an Instachu account. "Yeah, I've been meaning to make one but keep putting it off for some reason or another," Koray explained briefly, nodding when Sid explained that they did have an old Chubook account. Oh good, that would work for now. Maybe one of these days he would actually get around to making the account and would be able to switch over.
Sidney Ridley... That was simple enough to search for honestly, but it looked like they were in Kanto before Arciel? That's kind of neat. Weren't Kanto and Johto's dialects similar? He had spent several years in the Johto region beforehand. Actually, he hadn't updated his Chubook from Johto either. Woops. "Found it," Koray murmured, sending a friend request thereafter before pulling up the messenger.
--Got it--
"Great, I think we're set. When I set up an Instachu account, I can message you my username," Koray explained, handing the phone back to Rowan. The Phantump placed the phone back in Koray's bag. Considering both Elanor and Rowan were out, Koray didn't think he would have to worry about any would be thieves. "See you around then, it was nice talking to you, Sid."
As the friend request came in and the message went through, Sid nodded their head. “Looks like it,” they answered looking up again. At the mention of Instachu, they shrugged their shoulders. “Alright.” One messenger was enough for them, but theyd prefer Instachu, so whatever yeah. A small smile came and went from them before they moved to pick up their bag. “Seeyou…” was the final farewell.
