Pale grey fog drifts along the path of Route 1 rolling its lazy tendrils across the shores and trees nearby. It was still mild enough to be enjoyed, as one could still see a few feet in front of their face, so it cut down on the worry of getting lost or turned around. Ffion didn't want to have to worry about getting lost right away, anyway. The child was still dragging her heels when it came to getting started on her journey. Who could blame her? Her egg still hadn't hatched and Tanion was still recovering from where she had found him in the pouring rain. She didn't want to put either of them at risk by trying to rush ahead. However, it didn't mean that she couldn't at least try to plan ahead. She had just finished getting a blanket spread out a ways outside of town and was getting ready to get settled in with a folded map. It was just an hour or so before noon, so Ffion decided that she could work on making plans over a nice picnic with her Pokemon.

It would give them a much needed break and room to roam, and it would be a quiet setting where Ffion could make her plans in peace.Her egg remained wrapped securely against her lower-torso while Rym and Tanion, the Mienfoo and Litwick, playfully chased each other in a game of tag. Though she unfurled the map to try to get an idea of how long the trek might take, Ffion often looks up to check on the two playful Pokemon. She can't help but giggle to herself when they would both jump up to try to bat and wave off the fog whenever a thicker string of it drifted by. Seeing them playing together so well had Ffion timidly glancing down at her map to reconsider why she came out here. The route looked simple enough on paper, and she had been working so hard lately on her other responsibilities. Perhaps today could be a day that she tried to take it easy and enjoy herself.

She turns around to her case to open it up and fish out a lavender violin that she rests at an angle against her collar bone. She works on making sure that the strings are in tune before getting out the bow to prepare to play her scales. She was still getting the hang of the instrument, but she was at least getting closer to a point that they didn't sound like a Meowth and a Purrloin screeching at one another over an abandoned fish bone. Rym and Tanion almost freeze in their tracks from the sound of the music and turn to look at their trainer. It was the first time that they had ever heard their trainer get out the instrument before. Ffion is about to stop as her cheeks flush with pink, but when the Mienfoo and Litwick rush over to sit around her with pitiful looks that begged for more, she started to play again. Rather than boring them with her simple practice notes, she attempted to play something with a more lighthearted and upbeat melody to it. The Pokemon cheer in unison and begin to dance around with one another while the song filled the air.

[Misa Yukimura]

As much as she loved wandering the forest, Misa hated this part of her job. It was her teams turn to patrol the woods near Birch. Usually she would adore any opportunity to explore the forest, but whenever she went on patrol she had to leave her Pokémon in their pokeballs. And it always ended with her Pokémon being upset with her, she had to give them so much food to make it up to them.

She pushed through a clump of brush, pouting. The senior members of her team had told her to go check near the hatching grounds. It was smart to send someone to check on the area, that place was the most likely to be hit by thief, while the mothers are away the babies are defenceless.

A few minutes of wandering pass, with the occasional Pokémon passing by her. Suddenly, she had heard the sound of music. She curiously moved closer, hoping to find the source. Soon, she had come to a clearing, there was a Litwick and a Meinfoo dancing nearby. What really surprised her was the girl sat by a tree, she had an egg strapped to her front and a violin under her chin. She was playing such beautiful song, so upbeat and energetic. Moving closer, Misa spoke "That's a beautiful song, you're really talented."

Ffion opens an eye to peek at Misa when the older girl draws near and she offers a friendly smile to her. "Thank you." She finds a place to stop in the song and starts to lower her violin. Tanion and Rym both pout at first since they weren't quite ready for the song to end, but their attention is stolen by the newcomer they curiously look up at. Rym leads the way circling and inspecting the Ranger, while Litwick drifts a little ways behind her. Ffion rests the instrument gently to the side, "I'm still learning a lot, but I'm starting to get better so that's something. My papa always said that practice is very important. But...sometimes it's nice to just have fun every now and then."

She introduces herself, "My name is Ffion. What brings you out this way? Are you heading for Cedar Town?" Not long after she poses her question, the egg swaddled begins to gleam with a bright light. Ffion tilts her head down and her eyes widen when she realizes what's happening. She tries to unwrap the egg and sets it down to give it space, watching it with a fascinated expression. "Rym, Tanion, look! It's hatching!" The other Pokemon squeeze in beside of Ffion to get a look at the egg as the light begins to slowly form its shape. It starts to grow, and grow, and grow until it stands nearly six and a half feet tall. Ffion looks confused when the egg won't stop growing, and she quietly asks Misa, "Is this normal with a baby Pokemon?"

Finally, when the light begins to clear, a Drampa takes up the majority of the blanket. It's tiny for its species, but still stands two feet taller than Ffion at least. The Drampa blinks and cranes its long neck, twisting and angling it to help her get a better look at the world around her. When she spots Ffion with her Pokemon, the girl timidly speaks up, "H-Hello!" The Drampa's eyes light up when she realizes that this is the trainer that's been taking care of her and she lowers her head to but it against Ffion giving her a nuzzle and cooing out affectionate sounds. Ffion brushes over the white fur on top of the Pokemon's head, smiling tenderly, "We've been looking forward to meeting you!" She tilts her head down to look at the Mienfoo and Litwick. "These are our friends, Rym and Tanion. You've probably heard before."

Drampa lowers her head to sniff at them both, leaving Rym giggling while Tanion nervously scoots back to have his space. "But...now that we know who you are," Ffion starts to say when Drampa turns her attention to other things, "We need to give you a name." She tilts her head, looking up at the large dragon, "Umm...well. You're very nice, and you look really fluffy. How about...Thendra? It means gentle in th eold stories." The Drampa happily cheers and raises her two wings to test them out, sweeping the trainers' hair back with the gust of air it creates as well as making Rym and Tanion have to brace themselves to avoid getting knocked over.

[Misa Yukimura]

Misa's hand shot behind her to her pokeballs, Maemae should be able to help her calm the Drampa down quickly. Releasing him from the pokeball, she stepped forward; Misa put herself between the girl and the Drampa, it was common for new-born pokemon to be unable to control their moves. Both her and the Mareanie stepped closer, her hand gently rising to cup the pokemons snout. "Hello there cutie. Welcome to the world, it must be so nice to be out of that egg, hm?" Gently petting her snout. "You're a pretty big girl and that means you're going to be strong, so you need to be careful where you swing these wings, ok? Don't want to hurt your trainer." Misa motioned back to Ffion, smiling as Thendra flew over and rested her head on the girls lap.

Misa let out a breath, sitting on the grass near Ffion. That could have gone a lot worse... Raising her hand to pet under her friends spikes, she thought for a moment before speaking. "So you had some questions... My names Misa, I'm a ranger, though you can probably see that." she let out a small laugh. "I'm in these woods because I'm on patrol, looking for people that need help."
