Aster wasn't one hundred percent sure how she'd been roped into this one, but she had been recruited to help clean a Pokemon for the grooming service here in Cedar and here she was, armed with rubber gloves, a big bottle of Pokemon shampoo, and her good boy Ivysaur, Rafflesia. Raff had a pair of gloves on his vines to help, but he realized after trying to pick up a brush that it was a lot harder to manipulate objects with the gloves over his vines, so he shook them off with a huff. In Aster's bag sat a few eggs she needed to get hatched.
A customer walked in, snapping her gum and texting vigorously with her phone. "Hey. My Miss Priss needs groomed and washed. I'll be back in an hour." As soon as she finished speaking, the woman turned to leave, but there was no Pokemon. Aster opened her mouth to ask when the lady tossed a Luxury Ball out behind her and Miss Priss appeared in a flash of light and a trail of sparkles. The door was closed and the customer gone out of sight by the time the Pokemon was fully visible. Miss Priss was a large Delcatty who seemed to be on the dustier side, and under the grime she appeared to be a red-pink color where she should be purple. Aster wasn't sure if she was a special color, or if she was just that filthy, but that's what she was here for!
"Alright, Miss Priss.. can ah call ya Miss?" The Delcatty gave a delicate cry and sat down, staring Aster down. "Ah.. Priss, then..?" The Delcatty's glare told her she would only accept her full, unaltered name, and Aster nodded. "Alright. Miss Priss, then. Of course, Miss Priss. Could ya come up this way please?"
Aster motioned to her assigned tub, which did happen to be quite large enough for the Pokemon. Miss Priss seemed to know the drill, clearly having been here before, and marched over, leaping gracefully into the tub, and stood, waiting. Aster wasn't certain of where to begin, so she looked at Rafflesia for support. Raff wiggled his vines and reached over, turning on the tub to begin.

Aster and her Ivysaur waited until the water was warmer to plug the tub, then Aster checked the wall and picked out a gentle, rose-scented bubble bath to put beneath the running water. They went ahead and let it fill about halfway, nearly covering the Delcatty's legs with sweet, bubbly, perfumed water. The Delcatty seemed to appreciate the extra detail, and inhaled the scent, wiggling a little in delight.
"You're doin' good there, Miss Priss. I didn' think cats liked water." Miss Priss twitched her whiskers at Aster and lifted a paw out of the water, flicking it to get water on the trainer. Aster laughed and covered her face with her arms. "Ah, I'm not th' one that needs a bath right now, Miss Priss!" She looked at Rafflesia, who nodded seriously and picked up a pitcher in one vine and the shampoo in the other, handing Aster the shampoo first. She dipped her hands into the warm water, then poured a bit of the shampoo into her hands, holding it out for approval from the Delcatty.
"If ya don't like the smell o' that one, we can pick somethin' else." Aster stated, but Miss Priss seemed content with the shampoo's smell and closed her eyes with a nod. Aster scrubbed her hands together to create a foam and then worked it through the Delcatty's fur, picking up a bit more water in her hands to dampen up the rest of her body when needed.
You work your hands through Miss Priss's fur, down her back, along her sides, and ... uh-oh. It seems like your finger has gotten snagged in a giant mat on her belleh! Dare you risk the trap?

"Uh.. Miss Priss? Ya mind uh. Liftin' up this leg here for me?" Aster felt awkward asking, and the Delcatty seemed for a moment like she wouldn't comply, but seeing Aster's sincere face and feeling that big old knot on her belly, the reluctant Miss Priss lifted up her leg to allow better access to the underbelly region. Aster took a good look, wiggling her fingers around and gently prodding at the knot; she wasn't experienced at this, and knots in fur tend to be uncomfortable to the attached skin, so she wasn't as careful as she could have been and had to yank her other arm away from a Scratch attack from her client Pokemon. Miss Priss hissed in displeasure.
"Whoa there.. Sorry, Miss Priss. Didn't mean t' hurt ya. Ahm not sure how we're gonna get that knot outta there.." Miss Priss sniffed and turned away, but Aster stopped messing with the knot. Rafflesia moved his vines to another nearby table, selecting a steel toothed comb and handing it off to Aster. She grasped the back leg again and asked, "Miss Priss, if I'm very careful, d'ya mind if I try to tease out that knot under there? I'll use this comb an' I'll go real slow."
Very, very reluctantly, Miss Priss gave a nod, pouting about the humiliation of having knots in her fur and at the mild tugging pain it was causing. It had been uncomfortable before, but not unbearably so; however, Aster figured that if she left it alone, it could get worse before it got better. Carefully, slowly, Aster began to work at the knot with the comb, watching Miss Priss closely as she did so to avoid another possible swipe.

Aster gave Miss Priss a whole lot of attention for being so good, and even Rafflesia gave the good kitty a scratch under the chin with his vines. The water drained from the tub, swirling away, and Aster filled a pitcher with warm water a few times to rinse all of the soap off of Miss Priss, rinsing away the rest of the dirt to leave a beautiful, shining, red and cream kitty. She absolutely sparkled with cleanliness, but was still in need of a fur trim, a claw shine, and a few other small things to finish her grooming.
The groomer came in from the back, where he'd been working on a very pretty Herdier, leading that Pokemon out to sit and wait for its trainer in the waiting area. The groomer was impressed with Aster's handiwork on the Pokemon.
"Wow, most of the interns have a hard time getting little Miss Priss here to hold still for bath time! You did great!" He marveled at the great job Aster did, while Aster blushed and kicked at the floor a little, bashful and modest. "Aw, it weren't nothin'! Miss Priss's a total angel!"
"Hm.. How would you like to help me finish the job? Under the table, of course; you're not licensed to do the full grooming, but you did a fabulous job with this wash job, and maybe you'll like it enough to pursue a license?" The groomer goaded, hoping to get Aster to try it out and maybe someday hire her to this particular branch of the parlor. "You can't do the trimming or anything like that, but you can help with the claws. They need buffed and sharpened and polished, according to her paperwork today."
Aster didn't have any prior engagements today, and she looked at Rafflesia; the Ivysaur had lost interest in grooming Miss Priss and was trying to play with the freshly groomed Herdier in the waiting room. "Raff, you stay here an' keep outta trouble, y'hear? I'm gonna keep workin' on Miss Priss." The Ivysaur waved at her cheekily with a vine, not minding being left alone to play one bit. Aster followed the groomer into the back room, Miss Priss following behind gracefully, stepping high and showing off her clean fur.
Choosing to continue the job for bonus stuff Additional levels will go to Radish the Oddish Axew egg 10/15, Anorith egg 10/15 Jjq532Dy
Miss Priss is more than eager to get further grooming done, they're going to be the prettiest kitty! Her nails are rather long and scraggly though- it's about time you got to work on those!

The groomer led the Delcatty up a very small set of stairs leading up to the grooming table he worked from, and Miss Priss daintily stepped up and stood proudly where she always did. Her sparkling fur gleamed in the fluorescent lights, but she knew it would look even more impressive in natural sunlight. Aster followed the groomer into the room and stood awkwardly next to the table as Miss Priss positioned herself the way she wanted.
"Alright, so first we're going to work on these little claws, okay Miss Priss?" The Delcatty mewed at the groomer, giving him innocent eyes. She hated this part, but she wasn't going to make it difficult until she needed to. The groomer reached into a cabinet and pulled out two little foam blocks, handing one to Aster and placing the other on the table.
"Now. I'll get the front feet if you get the back feet, okay? Watch what I do." The groomer gently grasped Miss Priss's front left paw and placed it on the block with her toes hanging off of the end. He very gently pushed down on the front of the foot, extending the claws so he could get a good look at them, then picked up the plier-like clippers and gently snipped away the long, scraggly excess claws, being very careful not to cut too far up the nail. Aster watched intently, not wanting to mess this up, then followed the groomer's instructions as well as she could, putting Miss Priss's back right foot up onto the block and carefully clipping at the claws.
Oh no! It seems Miss Priss is ticklish on that paw! As soon as you start cutting at her claws she begins wriggling around and squirming- it seems hard to get a decent cut if you don't calm her down!

"Ah.. Miss Priss, please stop movin', ah don't wanna cut too close!" Aster said, maybe louder than she meant to. Miss Priss stopped squirming for a few moments, long enough for Aster to get a firm grasp on the leg and clip away the claws there. The groomer nodded his approval for that foot and moved over to the other front foot, moving the block over and gently lifting her leg to place the paw on the block so he could trim that one as well.
Aster moved to the other side of the table and tried to do the same, having Miss Priss put her left back paw up on the block and letting the claws spread so she could get at them, and attempted to trim those ones as well. The Delcatty held still to the best of her ability while Aster clipped, but she definitely twitched a bit while it was happening!

Aster wiped her forehead with relief, glad that the claw clipping was over with. She had been worried she'd hurt the poor kitty, but Miss Priss seemed no worse for wear, and her claws were all trimmed up nice.
"Excellent job! I'll have to have you come back another time, for sure!" The groomer seemed pleased with Aster's work; she smiled sheepishly and said, "Aw, it weren't nothin'! Really, Miss Priss is an angel!"
The red cat gave her a purr, rubbing her head on Aster's arm. Aster gave the cat a good head rub, earning more purrs. "I can take it from here; she only needs a little bit more primping after her bath and claw trim, and doesn't need a haircut yet. Miss Priss's owner babies her heavily, so sometimes she gets a bit fussy, but she seems to like you a whole lot. Please come back another time and learn more, it would suit you well!"
"Well, ah do got the farm t' worry about too, but ah suppose ah could come back now an' again.. It was pretty fun, an' I'm usually good wi' Pokemon." Aster thought it through; she wondered if there was a branch closer to home, perhaps, but she'd never looked into it. "Ah'll give ya a call sometime, an' see if ya got any more work fer me!"
Aster went to the waiting room to retrieve her Ivysaur, and Raff waved goodbye to the groomer with his vine through the back room's viewing window. The groomer waved back, and they were on their way back into town.
