A very flushed Cricket was attempting to jog around in the Training Area, but she was doing poorly; despite the biting cold in the air, she was red-faced, sweating badly, and her breathing sounded very, very bad. Her Ponyta ran alongside her, encouraging her to keep going, but Cricket needed to rest. She stopped, putting her hands on her knees and leaning forward to breathe, then got tired of standing at all and flopped down into the snow, feeling like she'd never cool off again, or catch her breath, or anything!
Eventually, Cricket did catch her breath, and when she did, she sat up and pulled a few Poke Balls out of her bag, releasing the eggs inside to check on them. As it turned out, four of them were just about ready to hatch, and wouldn't take too much longer to emerge! But the last one was newer, and the Pokemon inside seemed stubbornly determined to stay inside, as if avoiding the cold. Cricket knew it was an Alolan Vulpix nestled inside, however, and wondered why it didn't want to come out and play?
"Ponyta, what do you think the new Pokemon will be like once they hatch?" The Ponyta came over and nudged at one of the eggs with her nose, the warmest one; it was a normal Ponyta egg, and she'd had that particular egg herself! It had been before Cricket got ahold of that neat, magic powder that let her change forms into the magical shape she was now. She tossed her mane, as if saying, this one is the best one! Cricket laughed, putting the eggs safely back into their Poke Balls and returning them to her bag. She stood up, stretching her arms up, and got ready to keep going, even if she had to go back to walking instead of running, and Ponyta readied herself to move too!
"After most of these hatch, do you think everyone else would enjoy coming out to play with us? We could play Tag, or Hide and Seek, or just run around in the snow, maybe! If.. I can keep moving, that is..." Cricket was already having trouble breathing again, just walking quickly through her established tracks in the snow. Concerned, Ponyta nudged her, trying to get her to slow down, or rest again, or something. Exercise was good, but hurting yourself by exercising too hard when your body couldn't handle it was terrible!
Cricket did slow down, but she kept walking. These eggs weren't going to hatch themselves, after all! And she was eager to meet the Pokemon inside of the eggs! One of them was supposed to be a shiny Pidgey, too, so that was an interesting motivation for the heavyset trainer to keep on trying!
