Oh she was so excited that Jamie wanted to take part in dance classes! Thankfully he already had all her details, so now he just had to text the requirements through and the next time she was at the studio... which was... tomorrow? She'd be able to register him! "Yeah, home address- annnd... I can just text you the studios address and rehearsal times, you can attend whatever's easiest for you, since they teach different styles and techniques on different days- and like some people might not be too comfortable with ballet." Which is why ballet days at the studio were always so empty- but it gave her time to her and her thoughts!
As he continued speaking she couldn't help but giggle, "Oh yeah, you're super charming, you'll probably be able to sweep a pokemon off their feet if you tried hard enough!" An eyeroll then, her words are probably more dramatic than necessary but Jamie would totally be able to charm a mon, probably by playing around with it though rather than using his words, but it didn't matter!
As he talked about her new Brionne Arietta smiled faintly, yeah, she'd make a great contest mon if Arietta trained her properly. "You wont be totally doomed! I may be great at showcasing their moves, but i'm awful at battle and multitasking, so if you focus on that... maybe you'll beat me, Jamie!" she was giggling through, especially at his dramatic spiel, and had to bring a hand up to cover her mouth. "Woe is me~" "I don't expect you to go easy on me- oh, and you'll be against Elie too, don't forget that! Two PNG girls, and don't think we'll go easy on you either. Infact..." She brought her hand back to her hip and grinned, "If you're not going easy on us, then just expect for us to be at our A-game!"

People didn't like the ballet classes? Ouch. Jamie could almost feel the knife twisting in Eliza's back, had she been here to hear that. She loved ballet. Maybe he would give it a try, too? "Don't tell Liza that--she'll get on the instructor's for not teaching it well enough to get a good crowd, or something like that." He spoke with a faint laugh, but the way his brow furrowed said he wasn't joking. Dance styles aside, though, he would just be happy to be around his friends and trying something new--something they had a lot of love for that made them happy. He could hardly wait.
Jamie dramatically flicked his bangs to the side. "Damn right I am!" The cockiness was a hundred percent an act, but he did take the compliment--even if she was teasing him more than anything else. Probably. Jamie dropped the theatrics and started backwards towards the trail again, walking and talking with his cheesiest grin. "You can't multitask, yet you're a choreographer? Doesn't that require a lot of multitasking to know where all your limbs are and sing at the same time? Sounds like you're selling yourself short, Ari!" Though whether or not she felt like she was genuinely bad at battles he had little room to judge; he hadn't even really had his first real battle, and he had no idea how to really pull it off. Doing it on stage would also be tricky. While his team so far was great for the showcasing part of contests, he needed something with a bit more punch to get through the battles. And if all his Pokemon were part flying type...he'd have a huge weakness.
Maybe Arietta isn't the only one. I've got no idea how to stat out a team for combat...
"Oh yeah? How is Elise lately? Still playing piano, I assume, as the sky has not started raining fire..." Jamie did a quick glance upward like he was doubting his own words, before returning to his brisk walking pace, "And how's Callie? What's she up to lately?" Eliza had been giving him most of the break-downs between visits, but it was still nice to hear things from another source. Especially when Eliza tended to leave out things she didn't think were important. Everything was important, dang it. She was weird someti--
Hm? Jamie's heel landed on something decidedly not the ground, and he gracefully slid on the mysterious round object before catching himself, managing not to fall but still winding up in a less-than-comfortable pose. Ouch. "Auurgh, who leaves pokeballs just laying around..." he grumbled, picking up the offending ball and looking it over. It was empty, and he hadn't actually seen a ball like this before. He tucked it into his bag, the same logic as before still ringing true in his head. "Man, between this and those potions, I bet it was some lazy tourist just dumping their trash everywhere. How awful..."
A pause, then, with a small wince, Jamie backpedaled. "I mean it could have been an accident. I'm not...urgh, that came out way harsher than I meant it to sound. Hahah, I've been hanging out too much with...um...yeah. Oh, look, the water's stirring."
Pfffft, no she'd never dream of telling Liza, arceus only knows what the girl would do- probably storm into her studio and make a scene mid ballet class, or force her to drop out since obviously a studio that has a luck of ballet studios is obviously not teaching it's students right. "I wouldn't dream of it! It stays our lil' secret!" A finger was put to her lips, imitating a shushing moment as she continued at her pace. As he questioned her ability to multitask the girl could only shrug, like, he had a point buuut... "I am not!! Those things come naturally! I've been doin' em since I was little, after all- I had worse when I was a gymnist! Battling is like, a whole 'nother world, I swear!" A dramatic sigh left her and her arms crossed.
Arceus, her gymnastics days... oh how times have changed. That's all she lived for until she was fourteen and cut from the team- until her whole life was switched up- and since then she's devoted her whole life to dancing, which was good! It was had to master so much, but after Arietta had hip-hop down pat she was totally gonna start that one dancing that had the silk ribbon tied to the roof- it looked so cool!
As he questioned about her friends Arietta uncrossed her arms, a happier expression crossing her features. "Ellie's doing great- we actually think her boyfriend might propose soon isn't that exciting?! And yeah, obviously she'd basically married to the piano but Tony's accepted that, so it'll be fine!" She paused though as Callie was mentioned... the girl was probably dealing with the backlash of her actions- all she did- all the PR- all the chaos- all the- all- "She's doing great, doing her managing stuff and... stuff." Her expression was probably a little downcast now, however as Jamie tripped she was quick to snap out of it, eyes flicking to where he was in concern- huh?? Oh- oh another stray item?! What is his luck? "Hey, it's fine! It coulda' been a tourist, or maybe a clumsy kid- but tourists are the ones comin' to our concerts, remember?" She winked then, "So we best not call them lazy!"
Huh?? The waters stirring? Arietta was confused, and turned on her heel- only to spot a really, really sad looking mon reer its head- was it- it was looking right at her?! "Oh the poor thing..." Arietta approached the water then, moving closer, and the Corsola stared back at her, merely blinking- arceus it looked so sad, so upset- she wanted to help it!
"Hey, sweetie..." She moved to usher her closer, and the Corsla swimmed closer, body shivering slightly. Yep. Arietta was gonna help her! A hand moved to gently brush at the mons body and she attempted her best smile. "You're awfully pretty, do you know that?"
It... didn't make the Corsola brighten up, but she did let out a confused coo, and that was good enough for Arietta, who continued! "I bet all the other water mons are jealous- you could make even a primarina cower!" She shifted to grab out a great ball, offering it to the mon. "Wanna make land people jealous too?"

"Toby's going to propose??" Jamie's eyes went wide and blinked a few times, then after a moment his brow furrowed. "Wait, no, not Toby. Tony. Duh. Tony's going to propose? Oh wow! They've been together ages, so I guess it shouldn't be too surprising..."
Man, though, it was crazy to think about any one of their friends getting married already. Elise was older than him, yeah, but not by that much! It made his head spin a little. Would that make Eliza say anything weird? No, no way, she was too smart--and they were way too young--to see Elise getting engaged and think something like "Well when is he going to propose to me". They'd only just started dating. Or...not-dating now.
Aurgh, my head.
"Managing stuff and stuff sounds time consuming. But at least she's got you three to manage. Elise is a saint, you're an angel, and Eliza's only awful when there aren't any fans around," he snickered. Yeah, of all the idols Callie could be stuck PR-ing for, the PNG girls were probably the best ever. And Arietta made a good point about how their popularity was mostly from tourists. Even then, though, he couldn't shake the gut feeling that had prompted him to say something so blunt in the first place. Or rather the words of his girlfriend who'd put those bitter thoughts in his head.
Metaphorically.
At least the distraction did its job. When the waters parted, Jamie had to blink. Was that a Corsola? It didn't look so good. Its usually bright pink shell was bone white. That wasn't even what a shiny Corsola looked like. And it looked so sad...Jamie's lips twitched into a worried frown even as Arietta complimented and caught the little 'mon. "Was that a Corsola? What was wrong with it?" He spoke aloud, concern thick in his tone. "I've never seen one that shade of gray before. Is it sick? Should we take it to a Pokemon Center?" He glanced at the water, wondering if there was something in that that could have hurt such a vibrant Pokemon. It looked normal? But still, he worried.
This only makes what I said feel truer. If there's something wrong with the river, then...
Arietta Ostinato WC: 393 Consider the dex entries for those little guys... :( (10/15)
Arietta could only giggle at Jamie's words, arceus the kid was too nice, but yeah she was glad Calliope was there, all the girls really. None of them were really, really bad, and Calliope was really good at managing them! Or... well, right now it could be argued that Arietta was causing media hell, what with the blog, with the pictures of her being choked by the charmeleon... ugh.
The poor Corsola seemed a little anxious to join her, shifting back and forth before very gently bopping the pokeball and dissapearing inside with a soft click, causing the girl to let out an excited noise and stand upright, clutching the ball to her chest, only briefly flicking her attention to Jamie as he spoke... was it sick? It was kinda weird, yeah but... Arietta shrugged absently, "I dunno, maybe? She seemed a lil' sad but..." A hand moved to push through her hair as she pocketed the ball, "I can get her checked up later!"
Upright now, and with Aumia squeaking nearby she was back to walking, hopefully with Jamie keeping up. For a brief moment there was silence as she surveyed the area around her, trying to figure out what to bring up or speak about. Uh... uhm... "So you're planning on coming to bass a heap more, then?" A head tilt, "A lot of our concerts are going to be local, at least for a little while so Eliza can get her bearings and we introduce more and more practices..."
