From his place in the skies, Rep would see the next suspects before they even saw him. The group, a series of speedy Decidueye, were bouncing through the trees rather than flying, using the shadows to obscure their profiles from the ground as they moved. They could easily be missed the shadows of the trees against the sun, but they could not entirely be missed from above. They moved fast, though, clearly on a mission of some sort. And they were headed right after Gabe and Clopper. Rep’s eyes narrowed.

A roar broke out startling the birds just as they were closing in on the human and his Gogoat. The latter two immediately startled as well looking up and then towards what was being roared at. “Shit—“ broke from Gabe as Clopper stopped short right in time for one of the Decidueye to leap down in front of him. “Rep!” The Charizard didn’t need more than that. A Heat Wave came blasting down from the skies knocking down not just the first Decidueye but the numerous ones still in the trees. They scrambled about falling and catching themselves as they did their best to resume composure.

Gabe was not about to let them, though. “Wing Attack!” he called, and the Charizard blasted downwards and swiped his wings fiercely against the first Decidueye, knocking it over. It writhed on the ground, burned. The others were ushering out archer like arrows at the flying Charizard while he blasted them back with fire. Several Spirit Shackles, however, had the Charizard squirming and struggling to remain airborne.

Gabe grit his teeth and grabbed a Pokeball. “Kitty help him out! Fire Fang!” The Pokeball broke, releasing a Litleo, that quickly leapt into action. She was small enough to avoid a couple of Phantom attacks and just fast enough to bite down and burn a Decidueye or two. Between that and Rep’s resumed Heat Waves, the Decidueye were forced back. One still remained struggling on the ground, and Gabe decided to have at it. A Luxury Ball was thrown at the largest, the hugest, and the one in the worst condition.

As the Pokeball dinged in capture, Gabe sighed softly. I really don’t need another Grass Type… But such strong notably starter Pokemon did often sell well in a pinch. Not that I’ve been that pinched in a while… A small smirk quirked at the corners of Gabe’s mouth for a moment. He was pulled from these thoughts as a light started to shine. “Kitty?” The Litleo was evolving?? Tch, about ti— The light broke, and the Litleo was her usual self again. Oh… great…. Not that he hadn’t dealt with that already. Gabe snorted softly to himself and returned her and Rep for now.

Releasing Clopper again, he climbed on once more. “Let’s keep moving…” and she certainly was willing to oblige then.

It was warming just a bit as they ran through the area. They were leaving the densest parts of the forest behind. Ash City was just beyond— as was the Fire Gym of all things, heh. Maybe I’ll see who’s fire burns brighter… This thought would be cut into by Clopper who just so happened to look up and notice something else in the trees. Gabe’s eyes flashed up and back just in time to meet the hard stare of a Riolu. “Clopper—“ The Gogoat immediately stepped and eased around back towards the Riolu.

Gabe stared. The Riolu stared. Clopper stomped her foot a little uncomfortably, watching, waiting. Not only were Riolu rare… heh… there was another particular reason he was interested in them. Too bad it wasn’t a Lucario already. He had just the Fire to exploit that weakness. Well then, next best thing. Gabe grabbed a Pokeball and threw it outwards releasing a large Eelektrik from it. “Paralyze it,” was the order. The Eelektrik’s maw twisted up in a grin, and a bright spark of electricity went streaming at the Riolu. The latter bounced up right into the heart of the electricity and came down with a Force Palm. He wouldn’t be taken down that easily! The Eelektrik yelped and swayed a bit. Gabe grimaced some a bit, but as the Riolu fell to his knees, he was sure he’d trapped it partially. Good, good.

“Spark, weaken it!” came the call again, and the large eel obliged, being much faster now than the struggling Riolu. A Spark was enough to have the Riolu yelping, and instead of attack, the puppy Screeched back. It was loud but not enough to do damage. Gabe ordered another Spark and then threw a particular Ball, a Luxury ball, at the Riolu.

Using a Luxury Ball, The Riolu is also paralyzed raising the cap percentage to 80%. Will evolve on cap.

Recalling the electric Eelektrik, Gabe shifted and climbed back on the Gogoat. They were almost to Ash City now, and it was only going to get colder the later in the day it got. Better hurry now, heh. And thus they did.
