It's been hard for the past few days. Initially, he thought his travels would be a bit easier. Getting his pokemon was easier then expected, but he remembered that not a lot of people know about his criminal background. This means that the local professor didn't have that information to hang over his head, to make an excuse to not give him a pokemon. Good thing too. He didn't want to go into the wild to get one, b himself. Sure, he hiring someone was an option, but money was on a tight budget.
Yuki was happy to say he left town with enough supplies to last him the trip, to the next town. However, the world had other plans for him in the form of a snowstorm. It forced him to seek shelter in a unknown cave for several days. This depleted his resources by a good amount. It was after the fifth day that he decided to not eat very much, so he can save on food. The boy went hungry one day and had only a small amount to eat the next. On the tenth day it was clear for him to get back on the road.

There was a pond near the path. It was close enough for him to spot from his position and wasn't blocked by any trees or bushes. Not too much that he can't make it out. Yuki dug into his pocket to find his water container and felt the weight of it, judging it's contents. It was too light. Opening it confirmed that it was empty. Looks like his day was turning up a little.
His path diverged from the set one in front of him and turned towards the forest. It stopped right in front of the decently sized gathering of water, where he got down to his knees and drowned his container. His guard was brought down enough for something to take it's chance at him. A strong stream of water jets it way out of the pond. It made it's mark right on his forehead, sending him on his back from the force. It was clear that Yuki wandered into someone's home.
The pokemon made itself known and had an expression that said it wasn't going to let this go. It fired another water gun, but the boy was more than prepared for it. He rolled out of the way and was on his feet in less than a moment. His hands reached his pokeball like a quick draw and Bulbasaur was released into the open.
Bulbasaur went on the offensive faster than the attacker can. her vines whipped at the binacle over and over again, not letting up for a minute. It was honestly a brutal sight. It was more effective than Yuki thought it would be, seeing at the pokemon sunk to the bottom of the pond.
Their time at the pond was a rough encounter, but one that they didn’t come out of with nothing. A refilled water container occupied his rough hands, which he took a conservative sip from. The rushing water revigoring him from the long journey. Bulbasaur earned herself something from saving him back there. So he poured a little water over her, refreshing her a bit. The grass pokemon smiled, contently.
Their path took them down a slopped hill and around a mountain. This took a little longer to navigate as it went off the straight path. Eventually, both of them found themselves at a sandy shore, with weak waves crashing onto it. The first thing to greet them was a krabby running around with a sandle in it’s pincer. Behind the krab pokemon was a beautiful young woman in a bikini. She only had a single sandle on her feet.
Bulbasaur was kind enough to catch the krabby with her vines, holding it in place until it released what it stole. It did so and ran into the water after it was released. The beachgoer thanked the both of them, profusely, causing the boy to blush. This and from being so close to him. The young woman introduced herself as Ana and explained that she was working on her sun tan before krabby messes with her.
Yuki was ready to leave until Ana stopped him. She asked to battle him with her pokemon. The young man hesitated at first. He could see that she had three pokeballs on her person. One more than him. But he never had a battle against another trainer. If he wanted to be a good trainer he will need to fight other trainers. He agreed and decided to lead with Bulbsaur.
Her lead was a Buizel. The water type went on the offensive right away, but it wasn’t quick enough to dodge Bulbasaur’s vine whip. The strength of her vines was considerable enough, but the type advantage only added to the damage. Buizel stood no chance. Ana returned her fallen pokemon and sent out her Spheal, another water type. Bulbasaur went on the offensive again, throwing vine whips at the water type like she did her comrade. This opponent was already looking in bad shape, but it wasn’t going to go down easily. It launched a powder snow attack at Bulbasaur, stopping it dead where it stood. For the first time, she was taking considerable damage and was shivering. However, she put an end to this fight with another vine whip.
Bulbsaur was going to fight again, but Yuki refused the notion and called her back. The fight was in Froakie’s hands now. Ana’s final pokemon was a Wingull. The bird spat out a water gun attack, which Froakie jumped out of the way of. He countered with a pound attack and made the bird stagger in the air. The frog was about to hit the ground until Wingull tired a supersonic at him. It was effective in leaving him open for a quick attack. Froakie regained his senses to hit Wingull with a bubble attack at close range and continue with several pounds. The accumulated damage made Wingull fall to the ground, defeated.

Yuki decided to rest for a little. The hours of traveling were starting to take it's effect on the young man and his pokemon. They also suffered from the damage dealt to them during the last battle. The difference between fighting wild pokemon and trainer pokemon was much clearer to him. He applied a potion to Bulbasaur, tending to her injuries and watching her run off.
Now to tend to his own. He stripped his shoes off and discards them to the side. Rubbing them made him feel how sore they were from the endless walking. He did like to travel by foot, but there was a little to how much they should in one sitting. A little more walking shouldn't hurt. Not if it's to the shore.
Yuki stopped as soon as his feet were completely submerged in the water. They were already feeling much better. He took another step and became victim to a sucker punch from a weird water type. Was water his natural enemy? Is that why he was born in the desert? Today was really making that seem the case.
Bulbasaur came to his rescue again. This enemy was more sturdy then the others, but she managed to take it down in good time. Just required a few more vine whips than normal.
used a potion on Bulbasaur 2/5 energy -> 4/5 Lv.8 --> Lv.9

They saw the pokemon get carried out by the tide, but they didn't care enough to go stop it. it was it's own fault for attacking them when they were trying to have a relaxing time. Sure, it was quiet now, but the mood was mostly ruined by the water pokemon. Come to think if it, he never seen that one before. He'll have to get it's name later, after they get to town.
When they were getting ready to leave Yuki found himself with a small problem. His feet were coated in the beach's sand from walking on it with wet feet. The solution was simple. He took some water from his container and poured it onto his foot, so he can dry it. This was the same for the other. Now there was barely any water left to drink.
Town should be close by, going by the map. An hour or two out from there current location. They should be able to make it in time, with the little water they have. The beach disappeared from their vision as they traveled back onto the forest path. No rest for the wicked, as a snake pokemon ambushed them. It wrapped itself around Bulbasaur, trapping it, and forcing him to draw out his Froakie to defeat it.
The frog mercilessly slammed itself into it a dozen times, taking advantage of the snake occupying itself by wrapping Bulbasaur.
The snake uncoiled itself around Bulbsaur, dropping her to the ground, and skittered back into a nearby bush. Yuki and Froakie checked the grass type for any injuries. Thankfully, she was alright and needed no medical attention. Yuki wanted to get out of this forest now. All the excitement was becoming too much for him. But the forest wasn’t done with him. Out from the bush came another pokemon. It looked like a poison type, but Yuki never saw it before.
He noticed that it came from the same bush as the snake. In fact, the defeated snake was peeping from it directly at the angery challenger. So they were allies? The new foe shot out a series of poison sting attacks. The trio dodged it, but one got Froakie in his leg. However, there was no need to worry. It was very weak and no poison remained on him. Froakie took it out with a pound. This foe was much weaker than the other one.
He was starting to feel more relief than he did when soaking his feet at the beach. They were almost within reach of the next town. It said so on his map. Bulbasaur and Froakie were both happy about this too. Both pokemon were tried from the days of travel and all the fighting they did against the wild pokemon of the route. Yuki found it preferable to be in the wild, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t like to be in a nice pokemon center or a night or two.
But it seems they have another road block to deal with. Quiet literally, in this case. A snorlax blocker their path, with its massive body. It was on its back and in a deep sleep. It was smaller than most of its species, but it still had the size needed to be an obstacle for them. The team kept trying to force it awake with attacks, but they bounced off its belly, harmlessly. He didn’t want to wait anymore. Yuki had a better solution and tried to capture it in a pokeball.
The fat pokemon was absorbed into the pokeball in a beam of red light. It took a little longer than most pokemon thanks to its massive size. It fell to the ground and shook a few times. Both Bulbsaur and Froakie stood back, not wanting to be in range of it were to burst pokemon. All three waited for the results, anxiously. A loud click filled their ears, telling them of the capture success. A collective sigh of relief was left out by all three of them. Yuki collected the pokeball and stuffed it into his bag for later use. He was sure that the pokemon inside was still sound asleep. Nothing was blocking their path, so they kept walking for town.
Froakie found himself being tackled to the ground by a mysterious pokemon. The trio recovered from their shock and prepared for battle, but were left confused at their assailant. The trainer knew it was a Zigzagoon, of the Hoenn Region, but something was off about it. This Zigzagoon was a different color. White and black instead of brown and gray. Was it a shiny? He’ll find out later. Froakie shot out bubbles, but it was too fast. It dodged them all and tackled Froakie right in it’s chest. The small frog grabbed the energetic pokemon and grappled him, taking him to the ground. He shot bubbles at point blank range. Yuki decided to try to capture this pokemon as well.
The multi colored hair boy watched the oddly colored pokemon get absorbed into the ball, saving it from Froakie’s attacks. The ball started to shake, giving him the same anxious feeling he did when catching the Snorlax. But he would also feel the same sense of relief after seeing the ball click. The capture was successful. Yuki collected the ball and moved over to do the same with Froakie, taking him into his arms. He deserved the rest after this eventful day. The town was in reach. He can see it just in the distance. This meant that a warm bed at a pokemon center was also much closer then before.
