Elizabeth crossed her arms and gazed out over the water. She'd spent a few days in Bass now and thus far things had been interesting. Now it felt like it was time for a bit of exploration. The ranger had always fancied herself a rather versatile pokemon rider however she rarely spent much time on the water. Flying was her true passion and racing or leisurely riding over the land was always pleasant, but the open waters weren't something one really came across often.
Back home there had been few islands and the waters were treacherous, traveling them often required knowing certain techniques to make it safely. Also mapping the waters wasn't a common practice, typically you traveled straight through without stopping or remained close to shore. Really exploring the seas just wasn't something the girl had ever really focused on.
With little else to do for the moment and no where specific to be, why not take a little time off just to see what this little channel between the mainland and the island had to offer? The girl had come prepared with a bit of diving gear if necessary and lots of warm clothing. The weather wasn't exactly wonderful and the season was just wrong but she was never one to put things off just because it was a little cold. And she did after all have her pokemon to help.
The ranger tossed two pokeballs toward the water releasing the two water types within. Drago raised himself up full height looking quite menacing as gyarados tended to do. Lavender trilled and happily splashed in the chilly water completely content in the lower temperatures. Sure she only needed one to ride but it made things easier if she could be flexible. Liz was also accompanied by Raya, per usual, Cecylia, Ayla and Damara. Having the flying grass types and the electric mouse ought to handle anything these waters might throw at them.
The ranger beckoned to Drago who lowered his head and allowed the girl to climb aboard. Cecylia remained perched on Liz's shoulder while Raya jumped down to Lavender's shell. Ayla and Damara took to the air after the group and the ranger directed the gyarados onward out into the icy waters. Sure she could be flying but the whole purpose was to be riding with her surfers today. The grass fliers just made things easier as they didn't require their own transportation.
Liz smiled at her group as they set out and gently stroked Cecylia's cheek causing the pikachu to give a happy 'chuuu'. "Okay guys, let's see what we can find."
