word count: 261 The dimly lit, one bedroom apartment was all Victor could afford for the moment. Despite his affluent upbringing, the male had wanted to travel light and had already sunk much of his cash into various tech and equipment for the purpose of tracking down leads on the Beast Ball. Plus the ginger had dumped whatever he had left on the only other living thing in the room. Tucked under the messily made bed was a simple looking little egg.
Victor'd been told that it was a rare and precious egg that contained a highly valuable pokemon, but the researcher didn't really believe the bull. But he'd needed a pokemon and having never been very good with money in the first place he'd gone ahead and purchased the thing. Now he just had to wait for it to hatch into whatever it was and try to make back a little of that cash he'd lost.
Thus the male had looked up an online listing for what he was best at, beta testing. The little indie game he had pulled up wasn't anything fancy and couldn't compare to the latest AAA games on the market, but it was an honest paycheck and gave him something to do to pass the time. Victor had programmed a bot to run his character through the system only half paying attention while he propped a foot up on the edge of his desk and watched the latest online vid on his dual monitor setup while waiting for the bot to notify him if something had gone wrong. 8eSJN_IVp_ Job: Beta Tester Reqs: 100 words min, 4 posts min Rewards: 100 Pen, 3 Rare Candies, +2 Gaming Job Posts: 1/4 Egg Posts: 1/5

A random event has occurred! What will you do? Victor MarsAs a reminder, because this is focused on finding bugs, a pass here is actually a random event: you found a bug. The bot gives a notification; it has found a bug! In a dialogue option, it seems that it keeps repeating over and over rather than letting you exit out and continue laying. Unfortunately this means you might also have to restart the game to get it to stop doing that.

word count: 346 Victor stood and wandered from the room and into the small kitchen area to grab a soda from the fridge. As he returned to the room he glanced over the quiet egg nestled on the bed still curious what it might contain. Victor was pretty sure he'd been screwed over in this deal but he supposed that didn't matter. He'd never really had his own pokemon before. Sure the family had pokemon but not one that was considered his own.
The gingered male settled back in at the desk and boredly spun in the computer chair a moment. Beta testing wasn't as much fun or interesting as some folks might think. Sure get to play a game early but your focus wasn't on the game itself but on all the things that made the game unfun. Such as this dialogue glitch.
A notification pinged alert Victor to the bot's discovery. His golden gaze flicked over to the secondary screen and he started with the usual troubleshooting methods. Nope clicking off the dialogue box didn't work. Nor did trying to back the character out of the chat menu. Esc wasn't working either. Not even going into the console and killing off the clingy NPC worked to remove the black of dialogue.
Victor sighed and rolled his eyes. This was what one might call a game breaking bug. Oh well, this was exactly what beta testing was for. He switched to his other monitor and pulled up the bug report form making meticulous notation of what was happening at the time of the bug, his chat log, how long he'd been playing for, plus a copy of the save game file. Fortunately Victor had an autosaver program running to save at five minute intervals.
With a bit of grumbling he pulled up the task manager to kill the game program then loaded it up again, idling tapping a finger on his mouse as he waited for the loading and splash screens to finish their run through and he could begin loading up the game's save file once more. A random event has occurred! What will you do? Victor Mars Thankfully not too much was lost, and the game seems stable and ready to go again. This... doesn't seem exactly like a game breaking bug, but as you start up the game the grass models are now.... blue? For some reason???

word count: 183 "What the?"
Victor groaned and rolled his eyes at the monitor now displaying blue grass. Not that it didn't look kind of cool, this was a scifi fantasy mash up game after all, but still it wasn't what it was supposed to do. Victor leaned forward and pecked at the keyboard then went through the settings double checking nothing was off.
He sighed then tabbed out of the game and went to dig into the game folder and files. It would be best to be sure the texture files were in the right place. As they had been where they were supposed to be the first time he doubted that was the problem but it was always good to check. Of course this could also be a problem with the graphics driver though he'd been sure he'd updated that earlier.
On the bed the little egg twitched a bit. It seemed to like the warmth of the room though Victor was too busy trying to dig up the cause of this blue graphics bug and took little notice of the egg at the moment. xQhgTUXsp_ Job Posts: 3/4 Egg Posts: 3/5

Nothing happened! All rolls were failed. Victor Mars The game really didn't like you alt-tabbing in and out - it crashes as soon as you try to go back to it. However, when you start up the game again, all the colors and settings appear to be back to normal.

word count: 140 "Bah you piece of..."
Victor grumbled as the game straight up crashed. He scowled and doubled checked his graphics driver anyway while the game booted back up. Surprise, surprise everything looked fine now. Victor sighed and ran a hand through his bright hair as he loaded back in and restarted his bot.
The game wasn't all that interesting to be honest. He ran it through the previous levels until it got near that earlier dialogue glitch. Carefully he tapped in a few cheats to get around that particular dialogue initiation and to be able to move to the next part of the game.
The egg on the bed began twitching more visibly and a few faint cracks could be seen along the shell. Victor was too wrapped up in watching the game to pay much attention to the egg however. ha9aeL8sp_ Job Posts: 4/4 Egg Posts: 4/5

Nothing happened! All rolls were failed. Victor MarsFor once, cheaters did prosper this time around! The game continues on smoothly, not a bug in sight to be found. The next part of the game proceeds on as expected, regular gameplay leading up into a pretty low-grade cut scene. Maybe a good time to check on that eggy!
