Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
Elise Bell & Sable Phoenyx are seated at the table.
Three optional icebreaker questions are offered: 1. If you could be granted three wishes, what would they be? 2. What is the cheesiest pickup line you have heard? 3. If your friends compared you to a Pokemon, which Pokemon would it be?
Feel free to discuss any of these or use your own icebreaker!
Elise was barely holding back the tears. Her waterproof makeup was barely holding back the tears. Her cute little pink crop top and white jacket and pink skirt and black leggings were barely holding back the tears. She didn’t want to be here. She didn’t want to be here. She didn’t want to be broken up with and now be here amongst numerous single individuals looking for long. Graces, she just wanted to hole up in her room and cry forevermore.
But here she was trying to steel her nerves and have fun for even a little bit…. To reassure herself there were still fish in the sea— even if Tony wasn’t a viabl catch any m--- m…. m— Elise squeaked a little as she nearly walked into someone and had them turn around to stare at her. She immediately looked down again and muttered out an apology before looking around again for her table. Oh, ok here it was. Sitting down and taking a breath, she tried to calm herself again before whoever it was sat down across from her… Oh goodness.
[attr="class","momoPBody"]Sable had signed up for the speed dating event the moment she heard about it. It sounded like a lot of fun and a good opportunity to meet more people! Considering this was meant to be a series of dates, Sable had taken care in her appearance and was wearing a red ruffled dress that fanned out in a mermaid style. The single strap on her shoulder held a red rose and a few red lacy ribbons for a choker and bracelet with matching rose earrings completed the ensemble. Her hair still looked a little messy, but at least she'd made an attempt to comb it out and the red and pink glitter in it was a good distractor at least.
It took a few moments for Sable to find her table but what she found was a rather cute looking girl sitting at the table. Was... she near tears? Hmmm, well that wouldn't do~. Reaching into her bag, she took some of the pink glitter she'd brought just in case and sprinkled some over the girl, ah, Elise judging by the name on the table. "Hey there~!" Sable chimed, quickly putting the glitter away as if it never happened, "You're sparkling today, beautiful~ I'm Sable, nice to meet you!" Hopefully that turned Elise's day around, at least a little bit.
A cascade of pink glitter fell before Elise’s pink-purple eyes, and she blinked a couple of times before fully registering it. Looking at the girl across from her now, she stared for a moment in silent awe of just how beautiful she was. That red dress accented her black and red hair so well, and her blue grey eyes were gorgeous and oh gosh she was talking to her. The warmth of Sable’s words warmed Elise just a little in turn, and she even managed a smile thereafter. “T-thank you,” she replied at once a mix of pleased and sheepish.
….And then it hit her. “You’re— are you Sable Phoenix?” she squeaked putting face and first name together. Oh wow, oh gosh. Oh. Oh what was she even… what did she say or do or— A swell of mixed emotions ran through her all at once, and she just didn’t even know what to do. Wait— wait wait ice breaker. Right there was an ice breaker… Fishing up the card, she read it out loud. “If your friends compared you to a Pokemon, which Pokemon would it be?”
[attr="class","momoPBody"]At seeing Elise's smile, Sable was glad that she'd managed to turn her day around. This was meant to be fun after all! There was no use in even calling this a date if one of them was about to cry. It probably wasn't a good idea to ask about that given the state the girl had been in. A nod would be given at the thanks before it seemed she was recognized. Eyes sparkled in mischief before putting a hand to her lips, leaning forward thereafter. "Shhh, it's our little secret~," Sable hushed, giving Elise a wink before sitting back once more, "And I tried so hard to mask my appearance~," otherwise known as not at all, but if it earned a laugh, that was the point of this little charade.
The ice breaker Elise chose after that earned a soft laugh, "That's an easy one~. Zorua of course~," Sable grinned, "They're cute, but are a little bit of a trickster. I do love them dearly though. I suppose that's why I'm the dark gym leader though, isn't it~?" Another soft giggle followed by a wink would be given after that. "What about you? What would pokemon would your friends say you are? I'm going to guess Kirlia~."
A little secret. She had a secret with Sable Phoenix. Elise blushed and giggled a little softly. “I just saw one of your videotaped battles the other day,” she admitted smiling a little softly now. “So I don’t think everyone would…. Know right off the bat…” Eheheheh, Zorua. She guessed she blew that ‘illusion’ of sorts without meaning to. The thought of Sable also being a little trickster was… something. Elise wasn’t sure what, but something.
As the question was returned to her, though, Elise paused. Hmmm a Kirlia? Maybe? But she wasn’t near as athletic and strong as Arietta was…. “Actually I think Jigglypuff?” she said a little quieter than intended. “I… really like to sing…” And then she remembered Jigglypuff put others to sleep that way and immediately smiled much weaker than before. Was that why Tony left—
[attr="class","momoPBody"]As Elise explained how she'd recognized her so quickly, Sable grinned and winked again. "How was it~? she mused, winking again before sighing in mock relief, "Well thank goodness for that. I shudder to think what I would do if my fans knew I was here," she continued. No, really, Sable would love all the attention but that wasn't the reason why she was here. Right now, her focus was on Elise and making sure they were having fun.
The comment about Jigglypuff had Elise grinning all over again though, "So that's why you're so beautiful~!" Sable chimed, clapping her hands once as if to emphasize this, "Jigglypuff can evolve into Wigglytuff and are quite strong, powerful, and even brave! I can see it now~," she continued, picking up a few speckles of glitter that had landed on the table and sending them towards Elise. "You must like fairy types then? You certainly look like you came straight out of a fairy tale~. Shall I call you Princess Elise?"
Before she could stop herself, Elise squeaked. “Y-you think I’m beautiful?” she smiled softly turning a precarious shade of pink. Some part of her wanted to compliment Sable back, tell her how her hair was so pretty, or how her dress was so gorgeous or anything but— But Sable was going on and Elise found herself soaking up the praises. Someday she would be as strong and powerful as a Wigglytuff…. E-even without T-t-tony…….
Oh no, oh dear, oh wow….. Elise was stunned to silence again right then. Maybe it was just the mix of all the other emotions she had going on right then, but she both wanted to cry and wanted to squeak and… uh…. uh….. Wow her face was very warm.
[attr="class","momoPBody"]Oh my Arceus, that squeak was adorable. Sable just grinned and smiled that much more, "Of course~! I said as much when I sat down! Did a sneaky pokemon use Amnesia on you?" she giggled, teasing only slightly before she went on, talking of fairy tales and princesses. Except, after that, Elise was blushing and oh, well that was endearing and pretty cute that the girl got flustered so quickly.
A hand reached across the table and took Elise's hand, rubbing it lightly with her thumb. "So, Princess Elise~, if you had three wishes, what would you do with them?" Sable asked, humming as she thought about what her own answer would be. For someone as flustered as Elise was right then, maybe falling back on the icebreakers would be a good idea. "That would be something, wouldn't it? If a genie suddenly appeared?"
A hand reached up to cover Elise’s mouth as her features turned even redder. Oh gosh. Oh dear. Oh gosh…. If she could have slid down off the chair and fazed through the floor, she just might have. Instead, a small weird giggle escaped from her as the flurry of emotion swelled in her chest. Before she could say anything, though, a hand was on her other one. Elise’s eyes dropped to it. Sable’s nails were super pretty too….
What would I do if I had three wishes? Elise’s features fell a little behind her hand. I’d wish Tony was back… I’d wish he had proposed instead of broken up with me just a few days before Valentine’s day… I would have wished…. Wish…. Elise’s eyes stung a little, and she blinked hard before reaching up the hand on her mouth to rub her eyes. “I’d wish for PNG… t-the idol group I’m a part of…. Pixie Nightmare Girls… I’d….wish all of us would… be very successful…” she spoke quietly, shakily. “And….I’d wish to be able to make shooting stars happen in the sky w-whenever…. And I’d…. I’d…” Elise broke off, a whisper barely escaping from her before a choked sob came again.
[attr="class","momoPBody"]That giggle was enough to encourage Sable to continue talking, hoping that the icebreaker would be a good distraction from whatever had flustered Elise so much. Surely it would help, right? Apparently not. For whatever reason, Sable could only watch as Elise dissolved right in front of her. There was no thought put into her next actions as Elise was promptly pulled out of her chair and ont Sable's own lap. Arms would wrap around the girl as she hummed what sounded like a dark lullaby of sorts. It... probably wasn't the most soothing, but it was the only song that Sable could think of off the top of her head.
"You know what I would wish for? A room full of never ending glitter in alll the colors of the rainbow~," Sable started, giggling a little before touching Elise's nose briefly. These weren't actually the things she'd wish for but they were the things that Sable believed would make Elise smile. "I would wish for the biggest ice cream sunday in the world and let all of my challengers enjoy it! Then laugh at all the ice cream headaches they got trying to eat it before it melted." One more left hmmm, better make this last one good. "And for my last wish, I would wish that you would smile for me, hmm? Because you have a smile that brightens up the darkest night. Did you know that?" Sable asked, putting a finger to Elise's lips thereafter.
"It may be cheating, but I wish that you would never have reason to cry, Princess Elise~."
Elise’s breath hitched. She didn’t want to cry. She didn’t want to be upset. She didn’t want to— Before Elise could think of anything else, she found herself pulled up and around the small table. Suddenly she was seated on Sable and being hugged. She might have blushed and squeaked if she wasn’t so busy rubbing her eyes and choking back a few more sobs.
She was listening, though. A room full of never-ending glitter…. Like a rainbow… That sounded so pretty. The biggest ice cream sundae…eheheheh… That sounded funny, and she knew it probably hard to be hyperbole or maybe a soft lie but then who knew? The last was… a little cheesy but perhaps being able to cry a little had eased some of her nerves for a short period of time. Oh gosh she was… making such a mess of things… oh gosh… oh dear…. Oh gosh…
Her eyes flicked up to Sable’s and stayed there for a moment. An almost awkward smile pulled at the corners of Elise’s lips, a bit forced and struggling but there none the less.
[attr="class","momoPBody"]It seemed like her wishes were making an impact at least, that was good! Sable continued, smiling a bit more as Elise seemed to relax some. Of course then that smile came and Sable ran a finger over Elise's lips lightly. "There you go~, see? A smile that lights up the sky~," Sable mused, giggling a little more. Elise was so cute when she was flustered like this.
As Elise looked up at her, Sable held her gaze for a moment before grinning all over again, "There's my sweet Princess Elise~." With that, she leaned forward and kissed Elise briefly, grinning all over again thereafter, "Did I break the spell? Or was it a curse... mmm, I couldn't quite tell, princess~."
Elise blushed. She couldn’t tell right then what she was feeling but it wasn’t… it wasn’t painful at least. M-maybe the rest of this wouldn’t be so bad. Maybe? She’d been about to say something. Her lips had parted, and words were certainly forming.
But all that was lost when she found lips briefly on her own. Elise froze— and then immediately went scarlet. As Sable sat back and spoke, Elise just stared wide-eyed again, her features warm and her heart swelling. Her stomach tightened, and she found herself straining to smile again. “Mhmmmmm….” she nodded a couple of times. Think, think, think. Say something, anything.
Elise gulped, and a softer smile came to her features. “….Definitely a curse….” she admitted. She wanted to say more, but a timer was going off, and she was quickly realizing again where they were…. o-o-oh…. Oh. Oh gosh. Oh. And she was… eepppp…. Elise scrambled a little to ease up off Sable. “S-s- I … you…. Ah… uh….” She took in a breath and said nothing else, just forced that smile again.
[attr="class","momoPBody"]Oh my Arceus, that blush was so adorable. A light touch of color met Sable's features in turn and that deer in the headlights expression Elise wore was certainly not helping either. The hum thereafter had Sable tilting her head curiously, waiting to see what Elise would say, if anything at all. Had a kiss really left her that tongue tied? Maybe this 'curse' lay deeper than Sable realized.
At the agreement that a curse had befallen Elise, Sable would've said something but a timer was going off and a sigh escaped her lips. Right. This was a speed date for a reason, and just when she was getting comfortable too. Hmph. When Elise stuttered and attempted to say something else, Sable just giggled and stood to kiss Elise's cheek this time, "I do believe we'll meet again, sweet princess~. In the meantime, I can give you a card, hmm~?" she mused, holding out one of her cards to Elise but not before scribbling down her personal number on the back of it, "I do have one more wish. Have fun this evening yeah? I'd hate to have to break another curse~." she continued, winking at Elise. All that was left to do was wait for instructions on who her next date was. Hopefully it would be just as fun as this one had been.
