FULL STEAM AHEAD
befriend capture attempt!
befriend capture attempt!
It felt like forever as Liv and her little party continued onward, a small bit of sweat dripping from her brow as she mentally applauded herself for not falling for what felt like more and more Pokémon trying to trick her. Really, it was just the one or two, but she was having some weird luck with water Pokémon. As the group continued down the route, she looked back at her partners and couldn't help but feel a smile pass over her lips. What went from just Aster and Marigold was now almost like a full family together, following after their hopefully amazing trainer.
While she was doing that, the trail begin to have a slight bend to it, so she didn't notice her feet walking her astray as she very nearly collided face first with a tree, only catching herself at the last moment with her hands. "Ah!" She yelped in surprise as she stumbled around the trunk, trying not to trip up over herself from her momentum. A rustling next to the tree gave her pause, making the blonde freeze as if she'd been caught red-handed... doing... something?
No, she can't continue to be afraid of things. She has her partners who... really didn't warn her this time, but they were preoccupied, right? She peeked around the tree to catch sight of a Skiddo, having itself a little munch on some greens as he gave Liv some thought before returning to what he was doing before she unceremoniously nearly knocked herself out. As Liv stared at the Skiddo, she couldn't help but admire it and everything it stood for as a Grass-type.
Okay, maybe she just figured that Skiddo would really fit the aesthetic she wanted for herself, not that her other Pokémon didn't.
But she didn't want to battle him to capture him. No, that wouldn't do. She crept around the tree, earning another stare from the Skiddo that made her pause in her tracks. When the Skiddo went back to eating, Liv began to creep forward again at a quicker pace until it looked back in her direction. This kept up for what felt like ten more times as she slowly, slowly made her way forward until she was in spitting distance of the Pokémon.
At that point, Skiddo definitely noticed something fishy going on and got on the defensive. "No, no! I don't mean any harm! Look, no sticks or anything in my hands, just... air?" She showed her empty hands, wiggling her fingers through the air as she stood her ground. "I just want to be friends. Look over there—" She pointed behind her to the five Pokémon watching from the trail, Aster in particular having moved closer to Liv during her stupid little approach. "—Those are my partners, and I take real good care of them. I wanted to know if you wanted to join our little crusade? We're trying to appreciate everything around us."
It was like she was trying to sell a journalism piece or something. "Whatever happens, happens, right...?" She reached for a normal Pokéball and made for a toss.
