Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
To participate in the Swarm, first post in this thread looking for a Pokemon. A mod will tag you and reply with stats for one Pokemon you find, including color and possibly even evolution depending on the species. Reply again encountering and trying to capture the Pokemon. Once you succeed, do not post in the thread again.
You may only find one per character, no rerolls. This is to prevent spamming to find special Pokemon. If for any IC reason you need to encounter another, use the same stats originally rolled and pretend it's a different individual.
Pokemon in Swarms have a 20% chance of being a special coloration!
Pokemon in swarms have a +20% capture rate with any ball, and will never flee.
THIS swarm closes at 11:59pm on MARCH 15. After that, no new encounters will be spawned. However, anyone who has an ongoing encounter that isn't yet finished has until 11:59pm on March 31 to finish trying to catch their encounter. After that, the thread will be locked and archived.
[attr="class","queentext"] After the rather unfortunate encounter between Saber and the wild Doduo, Kaisei had wandered off down a side trail through the hills, following the sound of buzzing wings. Bugs weren't normally a type he was interested in, but in the back of his mind he vaguely remembered an alert ping on his phone, warning of a Heracross swarm. Perhaps it was their mating season? If so, the larger, more aggressive individuals would be out in force, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to catch one for his team. Haru walked beside him, as they looked around to catch out a suitable individual before it was lost among the swarm. Or became bug food. One of the two. [attr="class","queentext"] A short distance away from the main swarm Kaisei encountered a pair of Heracross - one male and one female, specifically. It was obvious the male was trying to woo the female, as he kept talking after her in Pokespeech, swinging his arms around to flex them and generally being a show-off. Eventually the female had had enough and spread her wings to leave, the male still pining after her. Taking advantage of the distraction, Kaisei instructed Haru to use an Ember attack. [break][break] The burst of flame quickly diverted the Heracross's attention toward the pair, the blue beetle rising into the air for an easy dodge as another small fireball was hurtled his way. The two Pokemon traded battle cries, the Heracross forced to glide and roll through the air as it dodged Ember after Ember, before finally seeing an opening and nailing Haru with an Aerial Ace that he could barely see, let alone dodge. As the Heracross circled around, extending forward for an Arm Thrust, Kaisei gave the command to duck. Haru crouched down, but leaving his tail up in the air, the flame scorching the beetle's underbelly as it flew overhead. Another Ember was shot at the fleeing foe's back, and this one finally landed a hit. As the Heracross crashed onto the earth, Kaisei threw a Pokeball at it. "Lady Claworthy!" Came the shout in the relatively quiet area.
Simon sighed, tiredly marching forward in the hopes of finding this 'Lady Claworthy'. She was a Purrloin, a shiny one at that, and it was his task to find her. He didn't know exactly how she had run away, her trainer hadn't been open about that kind of stuff. All he knew was that the feline had escaped and it was his duty as a Ranger to find her. Even if he had a feeling the owner wasn't being honest when he had said that he had no clue how the Pokemon got away, or why.
"I have no proof, but I'm certain he knows exactly how she got away. And why. Probably treats her poorly or doesn't like her." Simon grumbled under his breath as he looked for some sort of signs as to where the Purrloin had gone. There were still muddy patches and soft ground. There had to be tracks somewhere. Plus he already had Kushina and Misha out looking for the feline from the skies as well.
Sai sighed, not having much luck in finding any tracks. He was beginning to fear the feline may has slipped into the river until Kushina came down to him, tweeting and chirping at him to get his attention.
"Found her?" Sai questioned, already hurrying towards the bird so that she could lead hi to the lost feline.

Sai ran as fast as he could, having to keep slower than he would have liked in order for Kushina to keep the lead. It didn't take the Fletchling long to lead him to the lost Purrloin, though as he had feared she wasn't in the greatest shape. Lady Claworthy was hissing, one paw lifted and clearly hurt even though her back was arched and striking as fierce of a pose as she could.
Though she didn't need to defend herself from the heracross that stood in front of her anymore. The Heracross chittered, the sound an interesting mix of playful and anger. A sound that set Simon on edge, but still stood bravely between the dark type feline and the bug type. "Pick on someone your own size!" Sai growled, knees bending slightly as he shifted into a fighting stance.
There was more chitters from the now confused big. Her eyes narrowed, almost like she was smirking before green eyes began to glow with a Leer. Simon snorted, not intimidated. The fun really began when the Heracross's head tilted down and it charged. Simon easily side stepped with his own smirk, Kushina ushering the feline away. Like a matador Simon dodged the charging bug several times before getting a grip on the horn, and using all of his weight to push the horn into the ground. Then using that as leverage he swung a leg upwards and slamming his heel back down on it's back.
Simon grunted at the impact, gasping again as he was thrown backwards, hitting the ground and landing on his back. The young man was then quick to roll away, the Heracross now stabbing the ground where he had been the purple black energized claws. This dance went on for awhile until Sai angled himself in front of a tree, the next blow sending the Heracross ramming into it.
Simon stood there, catching his breath while there Heraccross did the same.
"As fun as that was, I think I could come up with better way to use that agression. What do you say? Come with me and we can fight many different Pokemon together? Ones even stronger than this Purrloin." Sai grinned something perhaps a little more wicked than usual before he was tossing a pokeball at the dual type Pokemon.
[attr="class","queentext"] One... two... POP! The Heracross broke out of the Pokeball with a snarl and then stomped on it, destroying it completely. While Kaisei was still recovering from surprise, the Heracross had already bolted over, nailing Haru with an uppercut from its horn. The Charmander flew back and slumped onto the ground, his tail flame dimming, and Kaisei could see a large red mark on the lizard Pokemon's belly. Night Slash... Damn it! Was that a critical hit? [break][break] "Haru, get up!" [break][break] Kaisei glared at the Heracross as it flexed again, a combative expression on its face. Understandable, given that the female it was chasing had long since fled. Am I going to have to fistfight this thing? Kaisei thought. I mean, not that I'm worried I would lose or anything. But still. It would be messy. As the Heracross stomped forward, he sighed, dramatically rolling up his sleeve and balling a fist. [break][break] "Ch... a..." [break][break] "Haru?" [break][break] "Chhhaaaarrrr!!!" The little Fire-type had leapt to his feet, his tail flame burning with renewed vigor and reflecting off the fire in his eyes. The Heracross had only just turned to face this new threat when a Blaze-powered Ember was launched out of Haru's mouth, the flame engulfing the entire bug except for the very tip of his horn. Not wanting to miss out on this opportunity, Kaisei dug through his backpack for a fresh Pokeball, aimed carefully, and let it fly.
