Simon "Sai" Asher Savage
Age 25 Birthday July 20th, 1995 Gender Male Pronouns He/him Orientation Bisexual Faction Citizen Class Ranger Rank Coffee Gopher Occupation Wannabe Forest Ranger/Trainer Hometown Rustboro, Hoenn Current Residence Ivy Town, Arciel | Tell us a little about yourself. How would you describe yourself? "Well, I'm Sai Savage for a start." The young man sat in the chair, leaning back comfortably with his legs parted slightly. "Yeah, I know your sheet says Simon, that's my birth name, but I prefer to be called Sai." He corrected the interviewer, hazel eyes narrowing slightly before he sighed. "Fine, call me Simon. I don't care, let's just get on with this interview. I'm Simon Savage, I'm a kid from a farm outside of Rustboro City. I'm just a guy who's trying to find his own way in life." Sai grumbled the last part under his breath, needing to remind himself to keep a cool head if he was going to get through this. Just his luck he was already getting anxious. Why are you interested in the class you've chosen? "I want to be a Ranger, and they spend a lot of time outdoors right? Well, they do a lot of stuff, but I want to be the sort of Ranger who goes around on the Routes, and to campsites and stuff. Make sure people clean up after themselves, and keep an eye out for wildfires and the like. Catch them before they get too out of hand, ya see?" Now Sai was leaning forward, elbows resting on his knees with his hands clasped in front of him as they fidgeted. "I grew up on a farm, my family taught me to respect nature really quick. But not everyone does that, and it results in some pretty sh-" He cut himself off before he could actually swear in front of the interviewer. Their eyebrows raised and they waited for him to finish his sentence. "Shoddy. It results in some very shoddy things. Wildfires are a big one. But have you seen how much garbage gets left to float in the ocean, or just forgotten in the middle of the woods? It's a lot, and while I know I can't do it by myself, but I still want to make a difference where I can." That was a good answer right? It sounded like one to him. Why are you interested in training in Arciel? Why not another region? "Two main reasons." He lifted up one finger first. "One, Arciel is the place to be right now. Tourism and the people coming in to live here, those numbers have skyrocketed. They beat all the other regions from what I've seen online. That means there is a lot more people here. That means the largest impact is likely to be here." He lifted another finger. "Two, of my family two of them are already here. My sister and one of my brothers, with perhaps my other brother looking to move here too. So a lot of my family is here. So I want to see just what got them so enthralled with this place." Sai couldn't help but smirk, wondering just what his siblings were up too. Wouldn't surprise him if Jun was holed up in some place, and of course Adian likely still had his camera. "Where my family goes, I go." He finished his statement. What do you consider your best attributes? They can be physical, mental, social, or anything else. Sai raised an eyebrow, leaning back and crossing his arms over his chest as he stared at his lap in thought. These were always the worst questions because there wasn't much that he actually say was good about him. So really he was picking the best of the bad, and that just spelled trouble. "I'm passionate." He finally admitted, biting his lip as his foot began tapping a beat on the floor. "That passion leads to determination. I don't like to leave things unfinished, it pisses me off. I skateboard, so I have pretty good balance and can pull off some tricks. And I'm pretty damn fit. I wouldn't go as far as to say I'm ripped, but I'm in pretty good shape health wise." He shrugged his shoulders. What do you consider your worst attributes? Be honest, now! Hazel eyes lifted, nearly boring holes into the interviewer, his arms were still crossed but his foot no longer tapped. "Like I'd want to tell you that." He continued to stare. But they wre at a stalemate and this question needed to be asked. Eventually Sai relented, groaning loudly. "This doesn't leave this room right?" It was already bad enough that he had an entire list for this one. And he already would get enough flak from his siblings for this. "I have a short temper. I'm impatient. I don't always think before I act. Most people's first impression of me is that of a thug because of how I talk and act. I'm easily flustered, especially around girls." Sai more or less blurted this all out in a rush, cheeks starting to heat. "But, I'm trying to work on that you know? It's not easy, you can't just change overnight." His hand actually reached up to his hair, twirling the short lock that had strayed from the rest. What was your childhood like? How was school? Simon gave a little half shrug. "I wasn't the most invested in school. I didn't study too hard or too long. I passed in the end, but the only really good grade was P.E. Everything else was just average with maybe a B here and there. And I haven't found anything I'm passionate about to warrant going to college." Another little shrug before he was smiling a little. "As for my childhood, I wouldn't say anything too amazing? Growing up with three older siblings makes you feel quite inadequate sometimes. We lived on a farm, we weren't rich or anything like that but we had enough to get by." Sai let out a little sigh, closing his eyes as he once again wondered just what his siblings were up to right now. His fingers itched to text them, but that wasn't proper for an interview. How is your relationship with your family? "Now that question I can get behind." The young man smirked. "I'd say it's a pretty good relationship. My parents don't fault me for striking out on my own, in fact they encouraged it. The best relationship I have is with Adian, my slightly older brother. Him and I get along the best, having wondered off to explore many times together." This was where the grin faded just a little bit. "Now my sister and oldest brother, not so much. They both began to get a bit more distant once the started secondary, and I respect that and probably don't reach out as much as I could." The grin came back in full force. "But that's going to change. Don't tell Juni, but I'm actually trying to read one of her papers so we have something to talk about next time I see her." What do you like to do for fun? You know, these seemed like some odd questions to be asking for immigration purposes. Did they file this all away somewhere to get a kick out of the answers? Simon snorted, foot tapping heavily at the ground again. You know, this would be a lot easier if he could at least pace. "I like to move, so all the stuff I do for fun involves moving. Well, other than fishing, but I still find that fun. Otherwise there's hiking, swimming, climbing, skateboarding and I do enjoy farming a fair bit." He shrugged. "I'm not really into the just sitting here and doing nothing. Gets me to antsy." What are your feelings on romance? At this, the young man spluttered, if he had a drink a good portion would likely be on the interviewer's desk and person. "Are you serious?" He asked, amber eyes staring unblinking at the person before him. Why did they need to know this?! "Well, if you really need to know," Sai was already blushing profusely, making sure not to look the interviewer in the eyes. "I think romance is something special, something meant to be shared between partners and no one else. And no matter who my partner is, I'm going to treat them like damn royalty. And I hope that they'll at least treat me decently for it. That they'll like me for being me, not because of my money or anything materialistic like that." He was still blushing, but cleared his throat, trying to calm his erratic heartbeat so that they could continue. What are your goals for the future? Short-term and long-term. "Goals? Haven't really thought of anything other than being a Ranger. I'd say something like 'save the world' but I'm not stupid enough to believe I'd be able to make enough of a difference." Now he leaned back in the chair, one leg lifting to cross over the other as he stared up the ceiling. "I think I'd want my own farm someday, keep up the family tradition you know? Otherwise all I really want is to work on my flaws so I can be a decent Ranger. Might try a gym challenge or two if I have the time." Another shrug as his chin tilted down to look at the man again. If you could be a Pokemon, what species or typing would you choose and why? "No question about it. I'd totally be a fire type." His nod was determined, like this was something he had decided a long time ago. "Yeah, I know exactly what you're thinking. 'But doesn't fire destroy everything?'. Yes, it can, but it does more than that. Even a tree dies eventually, and ash is actually a good fertilizer. Combined with water and it can actually help many new plants grow. And we use fire all the time to create new things. You know of glass blowing? That's melted glass getting turned into new things with the help of fire." Sai sat back, nodding his head vehemently. "Fire doesn't just destroy." What do Pokemon mean to you? Sai just looked at the man for the longest time, blinking slowly as he registered the question and pondered it. "Shouldn't that be obvious?" Simon asked himself. Silence was the response as they waited for him to answer. "Pokemon are, well, Pokemon. They are living beings just like us, each one it's own individual with their own wants and needs. Each one has it's own potential depending on how they are raised. They are more powerful than humans, but are simply used as tools to some. But if you let them grow, treat them like you would a person, then they can grow into something so much more. They don't need us to do so, but some choose to bond to a human because the partnership makes us both grow into something better than one could do alone. It's a simple, yet very complicated bond." Simon stared forward, shaking his head as if that should be common sense to everyone. "They are deserving of the same respect and adoration that you would give to any human." Amber eyes stared forward, he was completely serious. Anything else you'd like to tell us about before you go? "Uh, not really? Thanks for your time though, and not totally, ya know, getting pissed off with me." Sai waved, making sure he hadn't dropped anything before leaving the room. Once the door was shut, he pressed his back against the wall to ground himself while he tried to will the anxiety away. |
Appearance
Height 5'06" / 167cm Build Fit Hair Color Auburn Eye Color Amber | Simon is first of all short, not short short, but short enough. He's shorter than both of his brothers, and he hates this fact as he feels like it means he'll always be figuratively looking up to his family and won't be able to do anything worth while. Like the rest of his family he has auburn colored hair that in some lights can look quite brown, and even more intensely red in the dark. Sai wears quite a wide variety of clothes, though his typical outfit usually makes people think he's some sort of thug, more so when he has his skateboard with him. The most casual outfit is a blank tank top, covered by a slightly oversized white sweatshirt, with dark green shorts and a red sweater tied around his waist. Top this off with a black beanie and of course he looks like a thug. However he does have several other outfits. A tan jacket over a black or white button up shirt with jeans. Another tan, hooded jacket also makes an appearance. He also has more hats. A brimmed black beanie and a brimmed black hat mainly. Another thing that Simon has that most people don't see, is a tattoo of a stylized flame on his left collarbone. Aura Sai's aura is most easily described as a flame, in both color and movement. It is especially visible around his hands, and trailing up to his shoulders. It radiates off of his shoulders in near constant waves of a red with a hint of pink. While not as constant or as noticeable, flames also come from his feet, more so his heels. |

That when you hear the name Simon you think a glasses wearing twerp, a total bookworm. So he chose Sai instead though he won't make the effort to legally change his name. He is the youngest brother of Juni Savage and Adian Savage His tattoo is from the result of a dare from a group of his friends. They all decided on a single design they all liked, though there was a draw as to who would get it where. One of his friends was the unlucky one and had to get it on his buttocks. Sai was lucky enough to get it on his collarbone instead. He still messages this group of friends, but after their 'leader' left without a word they all split up. His awkwardness and behavior around other women stems from his relationship with his mother and Juni. Juni has been more distant with him, so he doesn't know how she acts regularly. So his perception of her is to treat her as he would any other guy as that he how he believes she acts. So for other girls, he doesn't have a baseline other than stereotypes to go off of. Meaning he gets flustered and embarrassed while trying to treat them as respectfully as possible. Pokemon
