Splash. The sound echoed in Gabe’s ears, but it was an after thought to the stark cold water that hit his face. He flailed briefly before scrambling back up out of the water again like a dunked Meowth.“Ugh, I guess that’s a wake-up call,” Gabe muttered softly to himself before fully registering the soft laughter of the Gardevoir. Glancing over to her, he made a face.

“Are you alright?” She smiled back at him. “I didn’t expect you to slip so far...”

Gabe snorted weakly. Raising a hand, he dragged his fingers through his hair before reaching back and squeezing some water from it. “I’ll be fine...” he muttered.

Still, the Gardevoir was perhaps more aware of his mind than even Gabe was. “Seems you should rest for longer... thank you for your help today.” Gabe paused and glanced back to her. The Gardevoir drew her hands in front of herself and stared at him with a smile again.

….So that was it, was it? Huh.... Well...He supposed... for a moment or two, he’d cleared his mind. At least he knew those feelings now. Perhaps it wasn’t all for not after all.
