Route Post 11/15

Riding high on the find of her great ball - as the norm usually went - Fembra led the march southeastward, making tracks with her (not so) little lizard feet as the next town started looming ahead in the distance. Faolan had looked up enough info for the time being and followed along as a leisurely pace, though her gaze did sweep over the hills and rolling plains that seemed to span for miles all around them. There had to be a quicker way to get between cities and towns, she thought. Perhaps it would be best to invest in a flying-type to get her between the cities, or at least a bike of some kind. Something that would make traveling easier until she was able to evolve and/or train the two mountable pokemon she had just hatched.

There was another patch of flowers which Fembra began to speedwalk over to, her arms held out at her sides and her feet kicking up little rocks here and there. She had hardly gotten more than a few feet away before a Sylveon suddenly popped its little head out of the thickest part of it and cooed softly at her, at which point Fembra paused and shied away a little as though frightened. But the Sylveon didn't seem to mind her presence, nor take it hostilely - with her gentle nature, she allowed Fembra to move a little closer to dabble in the flowers for a bit, although Faolan kept a watchful eye - until Mudbray suddenly burst out of her pokeball again and brayed obnoxiously, then began to tuck in heartily to a decent-sized pile of mud.

As preoccupied as she was with making sure Mudbray didn't ingest any rocks or anything she shouldn't, Faolan didn't notice the way Fembra plopped herself down and began to chat with Sylveon, the two exchanging stories about life as a domestic and a wild pokemon, respectively, before the Sylveon heard a tinny call from far off and scampered away to tend to family issues. Fembra returned to the sight of Mudbray being returned to its pokeball, and when Faolan turned around and noticed the Sylveon was gone her shoulders visibly relaxed, which actually filled Fembra with a sense of contentment before the pair continued on their journey.

Route Post 12/15

As the next town over began to loom ahead of them, Faolan began to feel the faint ache of overuse in her legs. As much as she would like to continue on through Pine Town to the next route over, it might be necessary to take a rest once she got there. She found herself grateful not for the first time that pokecenter hostels were a thing, though admittedly she did kind of miss the comforts and privacy individual inn rooms provided her. Perhaps when she had a better source of income, then she might look at treating herself.

Fembra, for her part, was trotting along contently beside her master, eyes peeled for any additional items or pokemon that might pop out. The sky was still cloudy, but bright enough it didn't affect her vision too badly, and it wasn't long before she was scooping up a pair of spray bottles full of some odd colored liquid and running it over to the blonde on the path. Faolan wondered over what lucky creature was watching over them to have them consistently keep finding useable objects along the path, but she gave Fembra a pat on the head and dropped the items into her pack regardless, where they nestled against the Great Ball from before along with the slightly shifting egg.

Route Post 13/15

How many months had it been since she'd left Galar? She was starting to lose track, but it was beginning to feel like an eternity. Since then she'd met quite a few people, more than she would have initially befriended had she been living in Circhester, she thinks; but then again, she probably wouldn't have made much of an effort to befriend all the people she'd met of her own accord, especially if she'd met them around Circhester. They didn't exactly seem to fit with the theme of the various social circles she'd run around with, and shameful though it might have been she was entirely certain she would have just... ignored them and went on her way.

It was probably better for her in more ways than one that she'd managed to make it out of that region. As unhealthy as it was, it probably would have stunted any kind of emotional growth if she'd remained there.

Faolan pauses for a moment - not to sit or take a rest, since the closeness of the city served well enough as a kind of adrenaline shot for her - but to readjust the now shifting egg in her pack, making it so it wouldn't crush any supplies or berries she had stored in there unnecessarily. Which was just as well, because it's as she's re-organizing her items that Fembra chooses at that exact moment to run up, two more minimized pokeballs in her old and a triumphant look on her face.

Route Post 14/15

Once she had situated both pokeballs and egg within her pack properly - the egg now wiggling rather vehemently now, as though the creature within couldn't wait to break free and greet the world - Faolan stood just as there was a brilliant flash of red light and Mudbray appeared again, impatiently kicking her little legs out in a kind of happy dance. Faolan looked from the pokemon to the next town, whose buildings seemed to be even closer... and sigehd out a breath. Well, a bit of walking wouldn't hurt. Aside from eating dirt, Mudbray was relatively calm.

And then the donkey creature shoved its face into the nearest puddle and began horfing down mud at an alarming pace. Faolan tried not to wince at the gluttonous sounds of eating, all the snorting and heavy breathing as the pokemon had their fill (would it carry the same habits with it when it evolved, she wondered) and she only became concerned when it lifted its head and started to gag and wheeze. With no idea of how to perform the heimlich maneuver, much less how to do it on a four-legged donkey, she hesitated for a moment before hurrying forward - just in time for Mudbray to spit up something round and berry shaped into the grass at her feet. This was followed by a second object, and as it went back to happily eating dirt Fembra crept forward to peer at what it had just coughed up.

Needless to say, when she ran over to Faolan with a pair of Leppa berries waving about in her hands, the blonde was a little wary.

Route Post 15/15

True to her assumption, once the Mudbray had eaten her fill of mud and dirt did she calm down considerably, trotting alongside them and braying happily with a mess of grime and guck smeared all over her mouth and over her jaw. Faolan debated the merits of giving it a bath when she got in - did PokeCenters even have bathing areas for pokemon? She liked to think so, but that wasn't so much a necessity as a luxury - but just then the Mudbray took that exact moment to butt its head against her shoulder, sending dirt crumbling over her pant leg and smearing gunk on her hip and she felt a huff of breath escape her.

It let out an obnoxious braying noise and immediately kicked off, hopping around in little circles safely away from her as the gates of the town came within view. Faolan watched the display with eyes narrowed in ire, but when she saw how purely happy the donkey was she felt her expression relax slightly, and she -

- Oh, her egg was hatching. Thinking she'd rather be in the town than inside of it, Faolan called out to the Mudbray still kicking up bits of grass and dirt - narrowly avoiding kicking at a passing Lilligant, who immediately went back to her wandering down the path - and the trio moved into the town, Faolan moving a quiet area so she could let the egg hatch in peace.
