Elliot offered a sad, sympathetic smile Levy's way as she let the Dedenne scamper off. "It's okay," he said, voice soft. "You're right. I'm sure there's a reason for everything. Who knows? Maybe one day you'll see him again." One mischievous Dedenne, equal to yet apart from countless others out there. What would it mean if it did find Levy again? Would it mean they were fated, just at a different time? Or would it just be happenstance? Really, who knows? But to Elliot, accidents were rarely, if ever, just accidents.
At mention of his walking stick, Elliot blushed brightly. "Y-you saw?" he squeaked, stammering over his words in the process. Nevertheless, he obediently sat down without a moment's hesitation. "Y-yeah, yeah . . . I guess the Espeon really wanted to make sure I couldn't break that fight up. But its really like nothing I've ever experienced before. I know we won, but . . ." As he trailed off, Echo squirmed out of his arms and marched over to the Ultra Ball. She brought it back over to him, hand hovering over its release button, but as she felt a wave of fear rolling off of him she let her hand drop. Instead, she shyly handed the ball to Elliot, who stared deeply into it as he took it.
"You've given me a lot to think about, Lord Beerus."
He tucked the ball away, a strained smile returning just in time for Levy to start explaining her fabric choice. Even in his worn, nervous state, Elliot had to admit that it was some amazing stuff. It looked so smooth, and its color was so rich! "A nice, reflective silver'd probably contrast really nice with the blue," Elliot said, trying to keep the enthusiasm captured in his voice. "Not too much, though. The blue should be the main event."
Or, rather, the egg in Levy's bag should've been the main event! Dumbfounded, Elliot looked at the egg that nobody had any recollection of. Who sneaks an entire egg into someone's bag? Not even Elliot, lover of all random acts of kindness, would've done that! "D . . . Did it come with the fabric somehow?" he asked, shaking his head as if he knew that answer was wrong from the start. But what else could it be?
Echo, much less concerned with the little details, simply hugged the egg for warmth.

"Maybe, though there will also be other Pokemon." Levy smiled, still a little down from it all. "Just sucks I couldn't catch my first Pokemon. And a Dedenne would have fit so well. But, oh well. Out of my control now." She looked out longing in the direction the Dedenne had gone. Was there really a chance she could see him again? There was so many what ifs going through hr head. And now that was just another to be added on top of the pile. She pushed away her disappointment though, wanting to be sure that Elliot was alright.
"I didn't see it happen. I heard the snap and it's hard to not see the fact it is broken now." Levy gestured to the remains of the walking stick, frowning at what it implied.
"Sounds like a very aggressive battle." Levy frowned, sitting beside him. "As much as it sucks, not everything can be resolved peacefully. As much as I wish that were the case. Some Pokemon are just impossible to talk down. But, now you have a strong new ally once you earn it's respect." Levy gently pushed her elbow against Elliot. She was surprised that she was already comfortable coming in contact with him. Maybe it was because of how kind he was? Or he was just one of those guys most people get along with. Levy was definitely getting a little brother vibe from him, so why not roll with it?
"I do definitely have some silver thread. And I definitely want the blue to shine. So I was just thinking the edges of course to keep the fabric from fraying. But I was also thinking of just some small details. Maybe something akin to a circuit board? Only a few lines though so it's not too busy." Levy explained, feeling very passionate about it, especially right at the moment.
Then... there was the egg.
The egg that Levy was staring at, even as Echo began to hug it. "Hold on a second Echo." Levy requested, waiting until the young Pokemon pulled away so that she could actually pull out the egg. There was also some thicker fabric in the bag. "Well, I was going to make a new bed for Zei out of this, so it should still be pretty warm." Levy muttered to herself, already pulling out the largest section of fabric in the bag. It was thick, and plush and was quickly wrapped around the egg. Even getting folded and tucked into itself to pin the makeshift blanket in place. "There." Levy gave the all clear for Echo to resume the cuddling.
And Levy stared at it thoughtfully. "That may have been what happened actually." She admitted. "I'm the one who put the fabric in to begin with. However the cashier came running out as I was leaving because I forgot my bag of threads and they were giving me free fabric samples and he was the one who put it into my bag for me. Or there was the guy who was hovering around my bag while I was sitting and enjoying my drink." She frowned in thought. "Either way, I can't exactly return it so I guess it's mine now?" She shrugged, putting Zei down so he could check out the egg and give it a cautious sniff.

Elliot blushed slightly, eyes widening in surprise as Levy gave him a gentle nudge. It was some of the first human contact he'd had since leaving on his journey, and from someone he looked up to and respected so much to boot. He completely hadn't expected it, but if Levy was looking to give him some manner of comfort she'd succeeded in her goal. Almost without thinking about it, Elliot leaned against the girl, letting his weary eyes ease shut as he rested against her for comfort. It was the same kind of defeated flop he had done against Isaac many a time before. Did he already trust Levy so much?
"Yeah. I know you're right," he said. His attempts at keeping his voice strong had all but passed now. Instead, his weariness and guilt came out in earnest, underlining every word he said. "But Echo's just hatched, you know? I didn't want one of her first moments to be something so scary and painful, you know? I . . . I feel like I should've done more to protect her. But I was so scared, too."
Elliot sighed softly, leaning a bit more into Levy as she went into a passionate description of her fabric choice. A slight smile spread across his face as he let himself be carried away by her description. "A circuit pattern could be interesting," he said, not wanting to leave her hanging. "It fits your look, you know? And the whole streamer thing." His insights were half-mumbled, as if he was already drifting asleep.
Yet Elliot let his eyes flutter open, noticing that Echo's fear had already started to ebb away. She just went right back to snuggling the egg after Levy had given her permission to go ahead. "I'm starting to wonder if this all stuck with me more than it stuck with her," he admitted, before letting out a gentle, weary laugh. "You're gonna totally laugh at me for this. But is it silly if I was almost hoping you wouldn't have noticed the walking stick?"

Okay, so maybe this wasn't quite what Levy had expected. But surprisingly, she didn't have any complaints about it. So her head turned a little, eyes glancing down to see how he leaned against her. He looked relaxed, almost comfy. But, also tired. Emotionally drained. So if her head tilted to press her cheek against his hair gently, she had no qualms about it.
"No, I totally get it Elliot. However, one thing you have to know is that the minds of Pokemon work differently than ours. Yes, battling can be scary when you are unprepared, which you both were. But it's also how they do things. You did everything you could given the situation to protect her. But in the end, she still protected both of you and that's okay. Because you'll both get stronger, and you'll do amazing things together." She finished in her attempt to soothe him. Though she had no idea if it would actually work as she didn't know him well enough. But she hoped it would.
"It's also a type I'm interested in. Electric types can be so fascinating. Otherwise I was thinking some sort of wave design, for like water. I'm sort of torn on which to be honest. But the circuit pattern was my first idea." She admitted, though kept her voice softer. It did sou d like he was drifting off, and after such an emotional incident she didn't blame him for needing to take some time to relax.
"Like I said, it's natural for them I think. That, or she knows that moving onto better things is a lot more helpful. Dwelling on it is like picking at a scab, it heals a lot nicer when you leave it alone?" Levy offered kindly. "And no, I get it. It's still a weakness, and typically people don't like to show their weaknesses to the world. But it doesn't make you any less of a person because you need some help. I need help too you know? That's why I adopted Zei, only he's more my emotional crutch compared to your physical one." She smiled down at Echo and the egg.
Zei shifted a little from Levy's side, peering up over her knee at Echo and the bundled up egg. He let out a soft bark before he was standing up and moving to curl himself against the other side of the egg. Curling up into a fox croissant, he wiggled himself backwards until he was as pressed to the egg as he comfortably could.

Warmth spread through Elliot'd body as Levy leaned against him in return. While the fight had left his pulse pounding, Levy's soothing words were slowly starting to bring him back down to a calm. Had he really done everything he could? Innately, it didn't feel like it. Yet when Elliot tried to think about it, he realized just how right Levy was. Even when his walking stick had been broken and his entire team had been defeated, he still did his best to intervene. Even without any experience in battling, he still tried to come up with strategies for keeping them safe. And even after he was freshly recoiling from these troubles, he still tried to be strong for Levy.
Maybe he was stronger than he thought.
Elliot could feel his eyes starting to mist up. He blinked, trying to keep them back, but after a few attempts just gave up and let them flow. He wasn't turning into a fountain of fears or anything, but a hot tear or two started to roll down his cheeks. "Thank you," Elliot said, the slightest quiver in his voice. He didn't dare turn to face Levy, not wanting to disrupt her as she rested against his hair. But it couldn't be more clear who was talking to right now. "I really needed to hear that. Like, all of that." It was weird, hearing that one of his heroes had many of the same struggles as him. Yet at the same time, it was weird currently resting against said hero trying to hold back tears as she reassured him of the merit that his journey held. Really, this whole situation was one in a million.
"You know, if you ever need a hand, or an ear, or anything like that, I'm here for you, too," Elliot offered, his own voice soft. "It's the least I could do after all you've done to help me, you know?"
For example, he could keep weighing in on this fabric! That would be helpful. "I think this kind of blue would work really nice for a wave pattern. Maybe if you have anything left over from the circuit board, you could cut it into a wave-like trim and put it over a nice sky blue base?" he offered.

There wasn't much to look at, so her eyes drifting down to their laps and the egg was a natural occurrence. Once again there was the barely there puddle of blue green as it tried to bubble back up into the mist she saw earlier. She squinted for a second, trying to figure it out but there was an odd balance of focusing on it too much that made it disappear, but not focusing enough it faded away.
She both felt and heard the quiver in his voice. She was frowning, just the slightest downwards turn at the corners of her lips. Then she gave a little smile. This kid was seriously too sweet. "Your welcome. And thank you. I'll make sure to keep that in mind. Maybe we could exchange numbers, or emails so we can keep in touch?" Levy offered. That was something she really wouldn't mind if it would let her keep Elliot as a friend.
And that, that was perfect! "Yeah, that would work. There should be enough. I got enough for a couple attempts at least, or spares in case they get chewed or damaged." Levy pulled away enough to unfold the fabric. It had been folded into four sections. And each one if folded in half diagonally would be enough for a scarf with Zei's current size. "Sky blue base, white thread. It would make a nice ocean scene." She held up the fabric, already visualizing it. She nodded before setting the material back in her bag and pulling Elliot back against her side, this time an arm draped loosely over his shoulders.
"Let me know when you're up for moving on again? We can still take it slow, but we'll have to get moving eventually if you'd like to see about getting a new walking stick today."

Elliot smiled softly as Levy wrapped an arm around him, pulling him closer to her side. In turn he let his arm wrap around her, as if it was the most natural thing imaginable. But how could it not be? The girl had already given him comfort, support, reassurance, stability. Everything that he feared he had lost after turning his back on his home and his brother, he was finding here in this chance encounter. It was all from someone he looked up to so much, too! Frankly, it was almost like a dream. And yet here he was. He let himself stay leaning on her, counting on both her arm and his to account for the lack of a walking stick going forward. "I'd love to trade numbers once we're back at town," he said, all smiles. "I should be fine making it through the rest of the route. I might need to stop for a break more often than usual, but . . . I think we can survive this together, you know?"
Little did Elliot know, it was about to get so much more complicated than this.
As they staggered through the route, Elliot heard an alarmed call. "Hey! Guys, come on, snap out of it!" a rough, almost surfer-like voice said. The despair behind it was fresh, as if someone confident just had the rug pulled out from under their feet. Elliot shuffled a little in Levy's grip, untangling his arm from her back before staggering forward. Maybe it was a reflex on his part; he didn't want to just drag her into trouble without her permission, after all! "We have to help," he said, moving onwards into battle with a determined glint in his eyes. Even if his footsteps were off-tempo and shaky, he didn't want to waste a moment he could spend helping out.
Whether Levy let him stagger on his own or promptly brought him back in step with her, the duo would arrive just in time to see an Oshawott and Chansey leaping at one another. The Oshawott tackled towards the Chansey, who stepped forward and smashed him in the face with a rough Pound. As he staggered back, he shook off the blow and let loose a torrent of water from his mouth at the Chansey's bulk. Not only did this leave her staggering back in turn, but he was able to run towards the muddied grass to lunge forward for an even stronger Tackle. It was a direct hit, and would've had a chance of ending the battle there if the winded Chansey didn't grab him before he could bounce off of her.
The two stared each other down, but didn't expect to see another Pokemon looming behind them. A Wigglytuff rose up form behind, grabbing their heads and bopping them against each other full-force. The two rambunctious Pokemon's eyes swirled as they sank down, fainting. The amped-up Wigglytuff posed over their bodies, doing a few flexes. All the while the three's trainer watched, distraught. "Big Wigs, no! Now they're gonna-" he called, but was interrupted as a pair of Seviper leaped from the nearby bushes. They coiled around the Wigglytuff, leaving its arms pinned to its side. It was helpless to attack, but defiantly struggled and flexed as they tauntingly snapped their jaws in front of its face. In the distance a Seviper at least twice their size loomed, swaying back and forth in an almost hypnotizing pattern.
Elliot looked at the trainer, concern in his eyes. "What happened?" he asked, only for the trainer to nod his head over to the snakes.
"Little dude, you gotta get outta here," he warned. "I tried to catch that big Seviper, and suddenly these other two just rose out of the bushes and started doing this weird dance. My team saw it, and suddenly they were just hitting each other. And themselves! Way harder than I've seen 'em hit anything before. I'm hoping if I just wait it out they'll leave Big Wigs alone and I can bail." Yet it didn't seem they'd be leaving the poor Wigglytuff alone any time soon. They just kept twisting around it, making menacing barbs and teases while their large companion watched from afar.
Elliot grit his teeth. His team was weak. All of them were on the brink of fainting, or incapable of fighting altogether. And yet, there was that Ultra Ball he had freshly mounted on his hip. The idea of letting him out of his ball was still concerning, but Elliot couldn't think of any other options. He bit his lip, then took the Ultra Ball out and tossed it on the ground. "Come on, Lord Beerus. I'm depending on you," he admitted.
Lord Beerus looked right at Elliot, scoffed, and started to walk away. He stretched out and yawned, settling in the grass to take a nap. He looked a little bit better rested than he did after the initial battle, but he was still very worn. And, frankly, whatever was happening with the snakes didn't concern him in the slightest. He just lay there, tail swishing lazily.
That all changed when he noticed a large shadow looming over him. It was the biggest of the Seviper, peering down at Lord Beerus with a warm curiosity in his eyes. Elliot perked up a little. Maybe this was another misunderstanding. After all, the breeder had tried to catch the Seviper. Before that point, it could have been a gentle creature. It could have just been trying to defend its territory, its kin. Its methods were brutal, sure, but as one of the most notoriously tricky and dangerous poison types what else could it to? Elliot took a step forward, opening his mouth to speak.
Then Lord Beerus's eyes and gem glowed, a Confusion rippling out from his body and uppercutting the Seviper in the jaw. The enormous serpent reared back from the force of impact, falling in a coiled mass behind Lord Beerus. That just left the Espeon blinking a few times before returning to his nap. The Seviper deserved it for being in his light, after all.
It didn't take long for the Seviper to wheel back in front of Lord Beerus, its expressive eyes now brimming with anger. It started to perform its swaying dance again, but the Espeon simply responded by using its tail to scoot itself around in a small circle. The Swagger's effect may have been devastating, but it couldn't effect a Pokemon that couldn't see it. Offended, the Seviper circled around to try again, but Lord Beerus just kept scooting himself away from the irritated snake. He didn't even give it the satisfaction of opening his eyes, instead just futilely trying to hold onto his catnap.
Only after the Seviper made an angered, hissing roar did Lord Beerus finally crack a lazy eye open. It was just in time to see the Seviper lunging at him, any plans of a more non-lethal battle interrupted in favor of more direct combat. Yet the Seviper only impacted with dirt and grass, landing in a tumbled mess as Lord Beerus blurred out of the way with a Quick Attack. The Espeon let out an irritated grumble, then focused its shimmering psychic light on the tip of the Seviper's tail. The telekinetic punt sent it spinning in a circle, and when its face was once more facing Lord Beerus he blurred forward to tackle it directly in the snout. The force practically sent a ripple up the Seviper's back, its entire body moving like a wave as it traveled from tip to tail of the creature.
Elliot sighed in a strange mix of relief and frustration. "I think Lord Beerus has his battle under control," he said to Levy, hovering a hand over Echo's Pokeball. "Let's go help that Wigglytuff, before anything bad happens to it."

This, was definitely nice. Levy didn't realize that she was really this touch starved. But having her arm around him, and having his arm around her in turn just felt so natural. And it was so warm. Maybe she needed to see about at least getting more hugs from her friends. "We can still take it slower, then I'm sure we'll do fine." Levy added, taking a moment to pack up her bag and the egg, making sure it sat on top and that she left the flap open. So with that on her opposite shoulder she used the other to help support Elliot as best as she could while they made their way through more of the Route. It was definitely slower going, but Zei sat on her shoulders and cheered them on with encouraging yips.
It certainly felt like awhile before there was something grabbing their attention, especially Elliot's which had him dashing forward. Knowing that she couldn't stop him, and holding her own desire to help she dashed forward quicker, ducking herself under his arm to support him the rest of the way.
At first the scene was odd, and somewhat confusing. As she had said earlier, it was a normal thing for Pokemon to fight as that was how they learned. But they weren't receiving orders, the Chansey and Oshawott fighting on their own before they were getting near annihilated by a Wigglytuff. Then the true offenders came forward, and Levy couldn't keep the stars from her eyes.
"Sevipers! They're so gorgeous, and look at how strong they are!" The girl cooed, voice sounding oddly familiar in her starstruckness. "I so want one." She murmured, having to tear her gaze from the gorgeous looking snakes and giving her head a firm shake.
Come on Levy, you can want them as much as you want, but there is a problem at hand that needs to be solved. So she clapped her cheeks, shaking her head again and taking a deep breath. Already the pieces were clicking into place as her phone was pulled out and the pokedex app was started. "Sevipers are poison type Pokemon. And that one looks like a boss with the sheer size of it. They are weak to psychic and ground type attacks. So Beerus has the advantage." Levy rattled off quickly, making sure Elliot knew just what they are getting into.
"None of their attacks will cause Echo much pain, and her Confusion will give us the upper hand. We are going to need her help, Zei won't be able to fight both of them at once, so I have an idea to remove one from the equation." Levy explained quickly before she was switching into attack mode.
"Zei, showtime! Use their bodies as a steps, jump high and use your tail how that Dedenne did earlier!" Levy instructed. Zei barked as he jumped down, already dashing forward with a quick attack, body blurring around the edges. Touching the Sevipers as little as possible, he sprung off of them three times. Once he reached the peak height, he flipped himself backwards to slam his tail down on a Seviper's nose, hard. It hissed and the stronger of the two began to unfurl itself from the Wigglytuff. The weaker was also very quickly smacked in the face, Zei pivoting his rear towards the other's face and slapping it right in the eyes. With both snakes removing themselves from the Wigglytuff, their attention turned to Zei.
"Return your Wigglytuff right away!" Levy called out to the other trainer, fearing that the Wigglytuff would turn on her Nickit. "They used Swagger, it ups attack but confuses the target, return it now before it attacks our Pokemon instead!" Then levy turned to Elliot. "Please, get Echo to use confusion on the stronger one closest to us. It's all I'll ask of her." Levy spoke more softly to Elliot than she had the breeder, already digging into her bag. Once her hand came out, she gripped the pokeball extra tightly as she stared at it. She swallowed thickly, feeling anxiety overcome her about her choice to catch it. Could she? Two of the balls had already failed on her, it felt like a very real possibility that this one could do the same.
She was startled from her thoughts, the close one was poised to strike at them! Levy panicked, pushing Elliot out of the way. Hearing her cry of alarm, Zei dashed forward with a concerned bark. His body blurred as he rammed himself into the lunging Seviper as hard as he could. It just wasn't quite enough, the Seviper's open maw still scrapped across Levy's arm. Tearing fabric, and skin.
Levy didn't shriek out in pain, though she did gasp, her empty hand coming to the injured one that still held the pokeball. The minor pain sending spasms up and down the limb, causing her grip to loosen and drop the ball without her even realizing it's absence as she stared down the snake.

Elliot nodded. "Right. They're pretty famous where I'm from," Elliot said. "Though I expected them to poison much more than confuse. I'll make sure Echo doesn't look them in the eye." His hand wrapped around Echo's Pokeball, even if he felt a pang of guilt in his chest upon doing so. Levy was right. Pokemon were natural fighters. The way Lord Beerus manhandled that snake without even needing Elliot's command should have reminded him of that. But Echo wasn't a fighter. She was Echo! She was just a small little thing! And it had only been days since she hatched. Being ambushed by Lord Beerus was one thing, but it was fair of him to just release her into a fight?
Then the closest Seviper shot towards Levy, and Elliot felt his heart drop. He fumbled with the Pokeball, the world around him seeming to slow down as he unhooked it from his belt. When he threw it from his hand it spun through the air at agonizingly slow speeds, one of Elliot's eyes following the ball and the other following the Seviper that sailed towards Levy. He couldn't tell which was going to arrive first. He couldn't tell which was moving faster. All he knew was that neither was moving as fast as the beat of his heart, so loud that he could practically hear it.
Elliot sighed in relief as he heard Echo's ball hit the ground. The gleaming white silhouette of a Ralts was like a guardian angel touching down on the battlefield. Yet as he opened his mouth to issue her a command, he heard a rip of fabric. Then, a rip of flesh. Finally he heard a gasp, so quiet that he almost disbelieved what he was hearing. Or maybe he just wanted to disbelieve it.
Yet as he turned around and saw Levy cover her injured arm, he knew he couldn't disbelieve.
Elliot's eyes went dull and flat as he turned towards Echo. He could feel himself mouth the words "Protect her," but he couldn't hear anything but the hitching of his breath and the pounding of his heart. Echo tilted her head, reaching towards him in concern, but Elliot could feel the words again. They had to have been louder, this time, with how they trembled in his throat. Echo startled back in surprise, but nodded and ran over to the Seviper that dove towards Levy.
She raised a hand to her head, then fired off a pulse of psychic energy beneath the Seviper's coils. Elliot could barely hear her high pitched battlecry. It warbled as if everyone was underwater. Despite Echo's best efforts, her aim was off. Her target had gracefully leaped out of the way. It hissed as it slithered towards her, the Ralts taking a few steps back but maintaining her pose. Before she could strike again, it lunged forward, wide-opened jaws causing her to cower away. It stopped a mere inch away from a successful bite, instead smirking and licking the Ralts across the face. Echo let out a disgusted cry, too horrified to move as the Seviper started coiling around her. It lunged in for a bite, but Echo was on the ball this time. A shimmering psychic pulse formed right between the Seviper's jaws, holding them open before it could bite down. The two pushed against the force in opposite directions, neither giving the other any quarter.
As Echo held the serpent in a stalemate, Elliot noticed the Pokeball rolling away from Levy. That wasn't good. She was vulnerable. Defenseless. She could've gotten hurt again. Immediately he ran towards her, not even processing the dull pain that shot through his leg. In fact, he barely felt himself move. His approach to Levy felt like a stop motion movie, the world jerkily pulling him closer to Levy with each step. He was faster than the girl may have expected, were she even able to pay attention. Would she, too, be having a crisis like this? Was it even right of him to be losing himself so badly when it was her problem?
These questions gnawed at the back of Elliot's head like a swarm of Grubbin. By the time he finally reached Levy, he had already fished a second Ultra Ball out of his pocket. The first was his own insurance against disaster. Perhaps the second could be hers. Without thinking he pressed it into her hand, surprisingly gentle for someone who looked incapable of breathing at the moment. He didn't say a word, instead letting her hand drop and turning back to the battlefield. He didn't move a muscle, and refused to let his gaze fall off of the Seviper. If Echo couldn't hold it back, and it tried to lunge again . . .
Well. At least Levy wouldn't be getting attacked this time.

It wasn't until the pain really started to set in that things began to slow. Each pulse, each throb of pain counting several seconds of time. And now that she wasn't moving, she could actually take stick of the situation. Blue eyes opening wide in fear as the snake lunged for her. Surely she'd get bitten again, and each inch, each foot that it moved closer put it too close. Not even Zei's quick attack would be able to stop it now...
But, there was a sound, a high pitched cry. But Levy couldn't see the source as her arm came up to cover her face. Eyes looking towards what she thought would have been her source of safety. However Zei yelped, and Levy watched him struggle as he was currently in the coils of the weaker Seviper. As of yet, he couldn't escape. Her eyes closed, fearing the worst as she prepared for the puncture of fangs yet again. It wasn't until she felt the warmth of a hand pushing something into her's and the warmth beside her that she could snap out of it and see that Echo was finally in play in this battle. And currently trapped in a stalemate with the Seviper.
Looking into her hand, she saw the other Ultra ball. She gripped it tightly as the minorly injured limb would allow as she began to collect herself and stand up again. The Seviper wasn't weak enough to capture yet, and the Espeon didn't seem keen on helping. And Echo couldn't push it back.
"Zei!" Came the encouraging, hopeful shout from Levy. Zei stilled in the snake's grasp, which is not what it expected. It's grasp loosened, which was just what Zei needed. The Nickit flung himself free, bouncing forward and out of the coils. An amber eyed glare was directed towards the Seviper, the fox growling before their heads connected as he bounced forward like the daring, foxy swashbuckler he was. The startled Seviper couldn't react yet, hissing in pain. Crouching down, Zei bounded forward with another quick attack, panting as he did so but once again rammed himself into the stronger Seviper's head, throwing off it's focus and letting the pulse of psychic energy hit it full force. And though it may have pulsed around the Nickit as well, he was immune to the attack.
And that was just what Levy needed. Lengthening her stride she ran forward. And just as the Seviper's head came up to prepare for another bite, the snoot was booped with the black and yellow ball.

Lord Beerus may not have been helping out, but that wasn't for a lack of anything better to do. The Espeon was still locked in a rather one-sided combat with the giant Seviper. Currently he stood in front of a tree, making a few yips and growls to try and get the dazed snake's attention. It turned towards him, the curiosity in its eyes replaced with a burning hatred, and promptly stopped to coil itself inwards. What was it doing? Frankly, Lord Beerus didn't quite care. He smashed it in the side with another pulse of psychic energy, not even noticing that the Seviper was starting to glow. He curled up again, glowing brighter and enduring a second pulse to the gut. Finally, he coiled up one last time, opening his mouth and letting out a massive beam of energy. Lord Beerus' eyes widened in shock as the beam sailed towards him, seemingly vanishing beneath its blinding light. A few trees got taken out in the process, reduced to ash from the attack's pure power. There was pretty much nothing left in the Seviper's path as the attack finally faded. It panted in exhaustion, letting its coils slacken so it could finally rest.
That was when it felt a sharp pressure in the back of the neck. Lord Beerus had dodged out of the way with Quick Attack, waiting until the Seviper's guard to drop before finishing it off with a well-placed blow. The titanic snake's eyes rolled to the back of its head, and it sank to the ground like a ton of bricks. Lord Beerus shook the dust from his head, then curled up to take a well-earned nap.
As Lord Beerus slept his victory off, Echo slipped from the antagonizing Seviper's coils. As she slipped out of its grip like a wayward football, she put her hands to her head to focus another pulse of psychic energy. This one was targeted at the last of the Seviper, which was circling around to try and flank Levy from the other side. Elliot glanced at it, glanced at Echo, and then gave her a single nod.
One last Confusion was all that it took. The psychic pulse left the Seviper's head ringing, and it sank into a pile of messy coils at Levy's feet.
Two Seviper had fallen, and one had been caught. Elliot finally let the breath that he had been holding out. His pale skin started to flush again, and he blinked rapidly as he looked around to get a sense of where he was. No Seviper left. Lord Beerus was okay. Echo was okay. And Levy-
Right! Levy! Elliot immediately stumbled back over to her, talking at a mile a minute as he started looking over her arm. He could barely discern a word that he was saying, but he was pretty sure "I'm sorry" and "are you okay" made up at least two thirds of the words coming out of his mouth. Tears stung at the corners of his eyes, making it hard to peer through them and properly see Levy's arm. And yet, trying to check on her was the only thing he could think to do.
He took a few steps back, blinking rapidly and forcing himself to take a few sharp breaths. "We need to get you to a Pokemon Center," he finally said, voice little more than a dazed mumble. He walked from Pokemon to Pokemon, giving Echo and Lord Beerus a spritz of some spare potions before returning them to their balls. As he did, he shot Levy another tearful look, as if trying to see if she was okay.
His eyes may have been flat, but he tried to be strong for her and pull a smile on his face. He was ready to start running as soon as she was.

Blue eyes started wide, but each wiggle of the ball had them drifting shut slowly. Then it clicked, startling her from her lack of focus and making her blink. It didn't move again, confusing the young woman at the lack of movement, or lack of breaking open. Her vision began to grow hazy with pain, her arm really starting to sting and throb at the lack of adrenaline and lack of focus on anything else.
She'd finally caught her first Pokemon. "I caught it." Levy murmured, voice quiet but full of relief as he legs gave out under her. Her grip remained tight on the ultra ball, until her form went boneless and everything relaxed, even her eyelids drooping. Levy just needed a minute. That was a high intensity situation. Her breathing became deeper as she tried to slow her heartbeat. She didn't even realize that the third Seviper was targeting her.
Levy was the weakest link huh?
Zei spotted it though, running forward as he began to glow with red orange energy. There seemed to be an after image of himself as he tackled into the opposition. Then an after image of the newly caught Seviper appeared around him as he tackled the Seviper again. Then there was the last hit from Echo, resulting I the loose coil of Seviper just before Levy. Her eyes were still a little glazed over as she stared off into space. Zei whined loudly, dashing forward and curling himself into Levy's lap worriedly.
But with the conclusion of the battle, all the focus turned to her and she blinked to clear her vision as Elliot fretted over. "Oh. Right. Seviper fangs and tail are coated in venom...." She murmured quietly, blinking rapidly. She checked her bag, putting the new ball in her bag and checking 9n the egg. She clutched it close to her chest, rubbing the egg gently as she stood herself up. Zei remained at her side, looking up worriedly.
"Sorry." Levy murmured, wincing as she looked to the small gash. The edges were turning quite red, but they would still need to hurry. What a shame.
