Irina Yozik Nikolaevna
Age 17 Birthday April 1st, 2003 Gender Female Pronouns She/Her Orientation Unsure Faction Freelancer Class Explorer Rank Backyard Adventurer Occupation Wanderer Hometown Gloire City, Kalos Current Residence Pine, Living with family. | Personality Irina is a bright soul, innocent, and incredibly naive to the workings of basic society. She relies on others to tell her the basics of how things work, especially when her memory could fail her at any moment and she could all at once lose months, years of her life. However, the girl doesn't let that bother her. She finds happiness in the smallest of things, things that always amaze her no matter how many times she sees them. As she's very trusting of other people, it can be easy to manipulate her, or tell her something that's wrong in the real world is actually the right way to go about things. She doesn't have quite a good sense on right and wrong as well, which could be a big part of it. Awfully cheerful, its hard for her to feel bad. Often, shes seeing the world around her for the first time, and she finds a thrill in discovery. She constantly begs to see new things, and often might come off as annoying to those who don't know her. However, there are small things that might itch at the back of her brain and set her off. Irina has a fear of heights, from what she can't remember, and often when faced with something that once had set her off in her past could set her off in her present. Apart from heights, she's terrified of locked rooms and yelling. She can be selfish without realizing a lot of the time, having attention always on her, people caring for her there are times she carries on like their lives revolve around pleasing and making her happy. She'll drag people around without a care in the world to see pretty sights, and get upset when they don't go along with what she wants. Irina is constantly curious about the world around her, about how it works, how things look the way they do. And, like a young toddler, isn't afraid of asking question after question until she understands. History Before everything went wrong, Irina was the gorgeous treasure to three loving parents, elites in their field. They lived in a large mansion, surrounded by forestry and flowers and were the proud owners of Lae Coorperation, a multibillion dollar company who owned thousands of resorts across seven regions, as well as managed their own clothing and lifestyle line. Irina was supposed to be the heir, being the oldest child of Alek, Misha and Lev, and was all but babied by the three of them- she was their doll, their darling dark haired princess, and was treated as such. It would be incredibly hard to tell that young Irina somehow became the Irina she was today. Loud, spoilt, prissy and a total brat, she made the lives of the maids, the chefs, arceus even the pokemon around her house hell. She would find humour in causing as much chaos as possible and blaming it on one of the maids, and would watch with sparkling eyes as hey got fired and replaced by a new oblivious caretaker. Her parents refused to believe that their darling angel would cause such chaos, and when it was brought to their attention only wiped away the concerns. Of course, things took a turn when Irina’s Zaza had twins, she was no longer an only child and the attention by her parents was suddenly all on the newborns. Irina didn’t like that. She would take her anger out on those around her, throwing tantrums, breaking valuables, ordering the maids around and crying when she didn’t get her way- she really was not unlike a spoilt princess. Her younger siblings often received the blunt of her chaos, from outright being taught things that were against the house rules just so they would purposefully get in trouble to being set up like they’d done something deviously bad. Thankfully, Irina soon became six, school age, and her parents, who were now able to distinguish her unruly behaviour decided it was best to send her off to a boarding school so she would be about to get her behaviour on the right track, and learn to not become to needy off of attention. She should be the perfect little princess, not just a picturesque one. Unfortunately for the Nikolaevena’s, the boarding school would be the end of Irina as they knew her. Irina refused to change, the young girl a true menace for her schoolmates and teachers. Nobody is sure what happened, the fateful Tuesday afternoon. Barely eight, it was said that Irina had stirred up trouble with a group of older girls. Some claim she fell, others claim she was pushed or that she jumped, but Irina was spotted falling from a fifth story window from the girls dormitory. She sustained traumatic head injury and was in and out of a coma for the better half of a year. When she woke up, doctors had called it a miracle. There was minimal external injury other than a few scars and breaks that, by the time she had awoken, had healed. Unfortunately, the blunt trauma had affected her brain in a rather… unpleasant manner. At first all was assumed to be fine. Irina was a gentle, soft-spoken girl who was just trying to pick up the pieces of her past- a girl who didn’t remember her parents, or her siblings. They had only assumed she’d been joking around at first, a little prank for old times just to watch them crumble and act out, like the menace she had been- only they soon realised they daughter the adored…. Wasn’t who she once was. Irina was lost in a new world she couldn’t remember, faces who claimed to be close to her who she couldn’t recognise. At first, her parents had tried desperately to get the young girl to remember, showing photo albums, telling stories of her chaos, but it was only met with a blank stare and an uncomfortable smile. Her siblings would attempt to rile her up, now older, wanting their sister back just so she’d tickle them or chase them around the house with whatever historic relic she could find- but it was to no use. The new Irina barely spoke, she was quiet and almost timid, feeling as if she was within a house of strangers. She pretended she didn’t hear her parents cries through the walls, the fights, the sound of metal being slammed. She pretended that the name ‘Irina’ was something familiar. There were times her parents assumed they were making progress with her, that they were able to retrieve the daughter they knew. Where she’d giggle at a joke told, or she’d be found accidentally breaking a rule, however when she’d wake up delirious and not being able to recognise them once more all hope was again lost. She was diagnosed with Amnesic Syndrome (ie; Amnesia) by the time she was ten and went to visit a therapist weekly. The therapist was lovely, they were nice. They had given Irina a large, thick book to own where she could write down things that she learned, like names, basic information, just… anything- but little Irina only used the book for drawing. Cute little doodles of whatever she could see- of the flowers, or the pokemon, of faces screwed up in misery and regret. She didn’t feel comfortable around the people in the large house. They looked at her funny. She did however feel comfortable with the pokemon that called the house a home- her parents adored kitten and puppy pokemon, so it was no surprise the mansion was littered with them. One of Irina’s only pasttimes was playing with them, throwing things and giggling as they chased, running her small fingers through their fur… it was calming, it was sweet. Of course, Irina’s life soon became less than sweet- and it came in the form of parents constantly snapping at her. Begging for their Irina back, yelling at her for doing something their princess would never do. They were stuck in the past, still unable to view the little dark haired girl as their own. It was suffocating, and only became worse each time Irina woke up only to forget everything. One of her fathers had created her a large, diary like book that had the basic Nikolaevena history in it, as well as information about herself. It was a book she was to read everytime she forgot things, so she could at least get an understanding of where she was. The first page read basic information, such as her name, the phone numbers of her parents and a small statement about her condition. It was a book, that despite everything, still stays with her to this day. Everything changed one day when she was thirteen. The young girl woke up, as she sometimes did, with no recollection as to where she was. The door must have accidentally locked on her the night before, as she was unable to leave her room. This led to the girl completely and utterly freaking out, screaming, crying… her Zaza was the one to hear her, and quickly opened the door. They were worried for their daughter and attempted to assure her everything was alright, but Irina, in her terror believed the stranger to be a kidnapper. She acted out and attempted to elbow her Zaza, to sneak past them, to get out and escape, only to be pushed and locked back in her room. Irina was now a teen, and unlike her child self her Amnesia must have been getting worse. Lev was scared that it had gotten this bad, that she believed her own parent to be a kidnapper of all things! They’d gone immediately to one of their husbands, not knowing that Irina’s window was unlocked, not knowing that in her terror the young girl had snuck out, fleeing life as she knew it. It was discovered only hours later, an empty room and an open window, and by that time their daughter was long gone. Across Kalos, she ran through a world she cant remember ever experiencing. Through fields of colour, through petals that tickled, past puppies and kitties that seemed to adore her presence. Sometimes, there were strangers who saw the young girl, alone, in torn up pajamas with unruly hair, and they’d take her in for a day or two to ensure she was doing well. It wasn’t long before Irina had forgotten she had run away at all- forgotten where she had come from. And without her book, she probably would never remember. Sometimes, there were people who saw her face, who knew who she was and tried to chase her down, but she’d hide in bushes from them, scared they were criminals or people who’d harm her. Life for Irina was simple, but it was nice. A kind older gentleman was one of the strangers who helped her, finding the girl staring intently at the ocean for hours on end, seemingly lost in the sparkling of the water. He’d enquired about her home, about life. Irina Nikolaevena was not an unknown face to the public, being the daughter of such high-ranking people her missing poster was plastered everywhere. Surely, he knew her. And he knew people were after her, but when she gave the simple answer of just wanting to see all the pretty things he directed her to Arciel and was able to get her a ferry ticket, to a new life, a new place to travel. Arciel was unlike Kalos, in the way the people weren’t as cautious. They were kind, and they were everywhere. Nobody thought twice of the now fourteen year old wondering the routes alone. However, that meant people were less likely to help her. Food was scarce, and there was a point in time she found herself on the streets, asking for food so she’d have high energy to go see the flowers in the big city. That was where he now adoptive father found her. He was gentle and sweet, offered her a roof and food, believing her just to be a homeless child, however when she woke up in a fit of tears, not recognising who he was he was all at once aware something was wrong. Taken to a therapist, connects were made and it was discovered who Irina was. Her parents had been called, only for them to… not wish for her return. They didn’t want a daughter who didn’t remember them, they couldn’t handle her and had given up hope. Custody was given to her adoptive father, and her old book had been mailed to her- the only remaining thing from her old life. He was much gentler with her, and once she was familiar and used to his presence she was introduced to a few of his children. There were a few times through this process that she forgot her life all over again, but he was there to talk her through it, with pictures and evidence he hoped would help. Usually, it was able to calm her, but it would take her days to once more get used to his presence and the presence of people around her. Sometimes, others would look at her with gazes that were familiar, that she could have sworn she’d seen before. With pity, with hurt. She tried not to let it get to her. Her therapist helped work her through her life, since her brain damage was a result of her fall back when she was a child the cost of the therapy sessions fell on her old school. The person who helped her through everything was kind, and nice. Irina liked that! And, when she turned fifteen they even gifted her with a puppy! (Litleo) who wore a cute fluorescent coat with the words ‘Guide-Mon’ on it. Irina called him Puppy. He was very protective of her, and was able to recognise the signs of when her memory was failing. Irina, even when she didn’t remember anything else, was still drawn to pokemon, specifically those who in some way sparked her memory of her home. Since she was surrounded by puppy and kitten pokemon when she grew up, it was assumed that in some way her brain still latched onto their memory. Though Irina had Puppy, she was still watched a lot by her adoptive dad and her siblings, they were wary of her leaving and forgetting them if left on her own. The times between her sudden memory loss has become longer, they’d once been typical to one a week but now there were months that could go by with Irina retaining knowledge on those around her. She adored, more than anything, being outside. Seeing the world around her, the bright flowers, the creams of the clouds, the sparkles in a pokemons moves- and she just wanted to see more and more of that! They made her feel happy, after all! It was when she turned sixteen that she was allowed to explore the region. Every day she was to call one of her family members, and the day she didn’t was the day they would go looking for her to help her through her memories once more- usually with her Litleo leading her back home. Her book with filled with simpler details, little profiles of family with generic likes and dislikes and their relation to her- it was a simple life, a life that hadn’t been destined to her when she was born. She was far from the Irina she once was, but that was alright! Irina adored her life, and as long as she kept getting to see the pretty sights? That was alright with her. Goals Irina has few goals in life, and those that she does have are simple. Irina wants to see as many pretty things as possible, such as flowers, cute rock formations, lively sunsets- anything that makes her heart flutter, and she wants to see it alongside her puppies and kittens! She also wants to see as many people smile as possible, since her little book tells her that when people are smiling they get a similar fluttery feeling in her chest, and she wouldn't want others to miss out on that! |
