Lynnette Aria
Age 16 Birthday April 1st, 2004 Gender Female Pronouns She, Her, Hers Orientation Pansexual Faction Citizen Class Trainer Rank New Trainer Occupation None Hometown Hammerlocke, Galar Current Residence Traveling | Personality Lynn is ultimately a good person. She tries her best to follow society’s laws and morals, she respects and cares for Pokémon, she generally wants to help people, and she’s a surprisingly sweet, sometimes shy but earnest teenage girl with a clear objective in life: to become the strongest Pokémon trainer possible. Despite such a serious-sounding life mission, she brings with her a playful, light-hearted and humorous attitude that doesn’t take what life throws at her seriously. Sometimes this means simply acting melodramatic for the sake of a joke and other times this extends to further mischief. This can be surprising for those who expect her to be a meek and timid girl, as that isn't who she really is at all despite her often demure mannerisms. Running under her calm and cheerful surface are powerful and fierce forces, ready to do whatever it takes to move forwards. And yes, that also means she’s up for adventures and misadventures alike – experiences make trainers and their teams stronger, after all, even if said experience is weird and/or dangerous. Indeed, she is an unfettered individual. Danger and mystery don’t bother her, nor do topics of gruesome or unsavoury things deter her. This is what life has to offer her and she’s going to take it all, even if it might mean breaking a few rules in the process. In battle, she is somewhat analytical and sees the value in strategy. However, Lynn is no basement genius, instead having a surprisingly straight-forward, almost vicious mindset. She’s a person that can clearly visualise the most efficient route from ‘A’ to ‘B’ and not care about anything but the fact she has the solution. If it takes ‘X’ to achieve ‘Y’, then whether her conscience makes her feel bad or not, she’s going to do ‘X’. This doesn’t mean that Lynn desires to be cold or unfeeling. She is as emotional as the next person and she communicates her feelings clearly. There are a few emotions she’d rather not let others see though, namely the darker, violent ones. Though she wants to be a force of good in the world, she’s an individual that often times forgets how much she can hurt others with her actions, whether through words of brutal honesty or going overkill through other means. Not everyone sees the world as clear-cut as she does, and neither is she a perfect individual capable of reigning in her own emotions one-hundred percent of the time. Though Lynn prefers honesty and openness, she is quite the adept actress. She’s not a naive individual, and if she believes she has a reason to withhold information from someone or outright mislead them, she’ll do it without hesitation. Spinning tall tales isn’t really her style, though – the best liars are the ones that keep their stories simple and straight, after all. Besides, she doesn't like to act to deceive people for any sort of malicious gain; acting is her guilty pleasure. Without a drama club or any plays for her to participate in though, she often resorts to playing out scenarios with her Pokémon. She figures it’s a good bonding exercise, and that isn’t an excuse for playing pretend when nobody’s looking at all. Of course, she enjoys other simple pleasures too. Playing games with her Pokémon, playing computer games, playing carnival games – oh, sometimes reading is good too, even if all these activities sometimes detract her from her own goals, which even she needs a break from sometimes. Really, at the end of the day, Lynn is just an immature person trying to do her best despite her lofty ambitions. History Lynn was raised in the city of Hammerlocke under the tutelage of her two loving and adoring parents, Grace and William. Both proud contractors of the Galar Taxi company and with a pedigree of being powerful trainers, they earned all eight gym badges and in fact, met each other on their journeys, only to retire to raising and training Corviknights when they discovered Grace’s pregnancy. Thus, Lynn grew up around Pokémon as an integral part of her childhood, both as protectors during the Ultra Beast invasion and as companions during times of peace. Her father even allowed her a Pokémon of her own – a Rookidee that would’ve otherwise been raised to join the Flying Taxi service and the direct offspring of her father’s Corviknight – to be her constant companion. They’ve been together for so long that Lynn can’t even remember when they first met. Wolfram, or 'Wolfie' as she likes to call him, has simply always been there for her. Her parents were also fiercely protective of Lynn. They knew first-hand just how dangerous a Pokémon adventure could be, and as they themselves didn’t set out on their journeys until they were older, they forbade her from setting out on her own at the mere age of ten. That didn’t mean they weren’t thrilled to discover their child’s love of Pokémon develop into an ambition to become powerful trainer, of course. When they did, both of Lynn’s parents greatly wished to see her become a first-rate Pokémon trainer in her future and worked to encourage her every step of the way. Her father even allowed her to do some ‘practice battles’ using members of his own team, giving her a taste of what powerfully trained Pokémon can do. Unfortunately, none of Lynn’s friends were super into Pokémon, so she never got the chance to train with Wolfram seriously. This frustrated both her and Wolfram to no end. Either way, Lynn sought to lead her life as normally as she could up until sixteen – she went to school, joined the drama club, made friends, though it didn’t help that she had to watch many of those friends vanish before her as they departed on their own Pokémon journeys before she could. She was getting left behind. Then her sixteenth birthday came. Her parents presented her with enough money and supplies to set off on an adventure in any region she wanted. Having heard great things about Arciel and its variety of Pokémon, and not wanting her own adventure to be too similar to her parents, that was the region she chose. It wasn’t because her parents might’ve been breathing down her neck a little too much and she wanted to get away, okay? So that’s how Lynn came to be in Arciel, poised to work her way up from the bottom to the top and become the strongest she could possibly be. Goals Lynn’s greatest goal is to become the strongest Pokémon trainer she possibly can. In part this is due to a desire to live up to her parent’s expectations, though she also has her own reasons for wanting to become strong. Namely, the independence and freedom that she believes this will grant her. Her first short-term goal is to both acquire the perfect team of six and unlock their full potential. Of course, this will require a lot of time wandering through wild areas and getting mugged by random Pokémon, and also bonding with said Pokémon afterwards to become familiar with their strengths and weaknesses, but this is what she wants to do and by Arceus she is going to do it. Her second goal is to acquire as many gym badges as she can. This is a given, considering it’s what trainers set out on their journeys to do, and maybe once that’s finished, she’ll participate in the Pokémon League Grand Tournament. |
Appearance
Height 5'07" / 170cm Build Slender Hair Colour Blonde w/ black highlights Eye Colour Red | Fashion-wise, Lynn likes to look impeccably perfect. Knowing that clothing and grooming alter how people perceive her, her hair is often near-perfectly styled and her outfits classy. Neutral colours are her go-to, particularly blacks and whites. This means she usually wears dark trousers or jeans, coupled with lightly coloured shirts, though on some days this is swapped around. One thing Lynn always likes to wear though is a waist jacket. She has a few of these in case they ever get destroyed, considering the type of mischief that trainers get up, though her favourite is a red one. It makes her look more mature than she really is and its striking colour means she stands out in a crowd. In terms of footwear, she always wears a pair of mid-calf high black boots on her travels, as they're both practical and stylish. Sometimes, when she’s really looking to impress and there’s no need to go running through rugged grasslands and swamps, Lynn will forego her basic wardrobe and instead wear glamorous and striking dresses, with nice jewellery to boot, something she opts out of wearing on her travels. For the cold, she has a thick grey parka with a nice white fluffy hood that tends to make her adorably cute. Still, it keeps her warm and doesn’t look bad, and that’s all she needs it to do. Aura Lynn’s aura is a deep thrumming crimson cloaked in soft, feathery greys and harsh blocks of chrome that roam across it, arranging and re-arranging themselves in shifting geometries. It changes little whether Lynn is happy or sad, though its movements tend to slow down and speed up when she is relaxed or excited. Streaks of carbon-black run through it when she’s feeling particularly angry or sad. |

In fact, Wolfram greatly hates being in his Poké Ball, especially when he could be with Lynn. He also sometimes refuses to do what she tells him to do outside of battle due to his independent nature and proud stature. Lynn has a dual interest in participating in contests just for the fun of it. After all, contests means she gets to dress up and be on stage, and allows her Pokémon to display their power to crowds of people. Due to certain movies and media, Lynn is deathly afraid of ghosts and ghost-type Pokémon, though she tries not to show this weakness in front of others. To a lesser extent, she is moderately squicked out by bug Pokémon too. She sometimes enjoys being playful and flirtatious around others, though it doesn’t necessarily mean she has an interest in them – she just considers it all to be an elaborate prank not to be taken seriously.
