The afternoon after spending a day with Agate on the plateau overlooking the Weeping Forest, Shalin caught word that there were a large number of Eevee congregating just outside Birch City, on the south side of Route 1's valleys. Given how much Flit and Queen Zing showed off for her friend, she decided it would be best to give the two bugs a rest, instead relying on Caprice to get to where the flood of Eevee were.
Looking down from the north gate, Shalin's jaw dropped. The size of the swarm was at least an order of magnitude bigger than she imagined it would be - no wonder there was a call to catch them! The girl looked down to see if there was a spot where particularly large ones were congregating. No matter how she evolved a sufficiently large Eevee, it would be a unique thrill to train for riding. Teleporting with an Espeon sounded amazing, but she had to catch one first!

Resheph's dive scared two of the Eevee away from the swarm and into the open. One of them seemed particularly angry, desperately leaping toward her and Josh in vain. The other, a larger specimen, seemed to only be there because her sister was. Both showed promise - the smaller on the field of battle, the larger on the racetrack.
Josh had caught enough Pokémon that simply numbering them was becoming too cumbersome - he had labeled his Poké Balls with simple designs. The one he reached for had a yellow lightning rod design on its red top - the Poké Ball containing Saber. Resheph flew over both the Eevee, letting Josh release the electric wolf between them. "Alright, do the good work you always do!" Josh shouted, the Manectric nodding before encircling himself and the two wilds with a Discharge attack.
Though powerful, the two Eevee managed to withstand the electric shock. They were great at battling together, too - one of them feinted Saber into dodging straight into the other's reckless Take Down! Saber let out a desperate cry, badly injured after the coordinated assault and unable to stand. Seeing little opportunity to weaken them further, Josh decided it would be better for his Manectric's safety to use higher-grade Poké Balls - specifically Love Balls. He tossed a pair of them toward the two Eevee that had the weakened electric-type surrounded.

Two Love Balls used. Saber's level will increase to 41 if successful, and Resheph's will be level 38 by way of EXP. Share.
The aggressive Beedrill dove toward the horde, her deadly front stings pointed in their general direction. This sent them into a panic, two particluarly large ones breaking away from the rest. Both of them had an unusual sheen, the giant Eevee's white sheen glowing in the sun. This was an amazing find, one Shalin was not going to pass up!
"Alright, Kiku!" Shalin cried, releasing the battle-ready Skuntank below. "Let's clean this up!" Backing away from the wilds, Kiku pointed his tail at them, recoiling a bit as he fired two rounds of musk. Both Eevee were drenched in vile liquid in a split second. Queen Zing immediately flew upwind to keep both herself and her trainer from inhaling the noxious vapors.
The two Eevee were coughing, one of them frantically spitting liquid from its mouth. Perhaps it had ingested some of the musk? Though Shalin felt bad for the two Pokémon, Flit's Bug Buzz would likely be overkill on the Pokémon, likely fainting them outright. The wilds' coordinated attacks were the only thing keeping Kiku from running and hiding, letting his Toxic musk do its work. They had boxed him in, darting past him with timed Quick Attacks so that he was forced to fight them in melee.
The poison-type raised one of his paws at the shiny Eevee, swiping at its legs with a Night Slash that left the Pokémon largely immobile--but not defenseless, countering with a chomp at the Skuntank's other exposed paw. The other one continued its rapid Quick Attacks back and forth, slowly wearing the large, muscled skunk down. When it looked like Kiku wasn't going to come out on top of this battle, Shalin tossed two Great Balls, one at each Eevee. Perhaps it was a bit premature (she expected the one with the grey sheen to break out right away) but it would at least give Kiku some breathing room.

Great Ball x2 used. If successful, Kiku is elevated to level 45 and Queen Zing to 32 by way of EXP. Share.
The soft sound of play would roll upon the wind and catch in the party’s ears almost simultaneously. Atticus paused and smiled as he registered those young voices as Eevee. They made such distinct trills and had such soft cries from his expertise with them. They were familiar… and close, apparently. “Go to them if you see them,” Atticus ordered. Thunder and Nocturne hesitated looking back at Eclipse who gave a cry back. That order was for them, not for him. Both Pokemon straightened and quickly went that way.
As they came upon the Eevee, the Umbreon and Jolteon paused noticing one’s particular coloring. That was strange… but very cute. Looking back, Nocturne and Thunder exchanged a look between the two. Thunder gave a toothier smile which had Nocturne’s ears flicking back. He didn’t… really like that look. Just as she caught sight of Eclipse again, Thunder went bounding forward towards the Eevee pair, both of whom yelped in surprise.
The first was bit hard with a Thunder Fang that only managed to cause a flinch. The second used a Double-Edge, however, and sent her crashing sideways into a tree. The ruckus was enough to have Eclipse and Atticus moving faster in that direction. As they came to the clearing as well, Nocturne had joined the fray briefly using an Assurance to damage the bitten Eevee a little harder than before. Eclipse was quick to make a low note to Atty who pulled out a couple of Pokeballs and handed them over to him just to wait on. Eclipse didn’t wait, however, tossing both Pokeballs into the fray.

What luck! They stumbled upon not one, but two Pokemon in the swarm, one of which happened to be an Umbreon which looked to be large all things considered. Jazz smiled at Pup who could read what her trainer was thinking. Approaching the Eevee, Pup accidentally surprised her and ended up getting a face full of sand from Sand Attack. Barking in annyance, Pup used Bullet Punch that sent the Eevee flying and drawing the attention of the Umbreon. The Umbreon Bit Pup who growled and used Metal Claw to get the Umbreon off her and jumped backwards.
Looking back to Jazz, Pup barked at them. She couldn't keep fighting off both at the same time and knew it. Jazz stepped forward and threw a Nest Ball at the Eevee and a Great Ball at the Umbreon. Hopefully that would be enough to catch both. Pup meanwhile didn't relax, ready to battle in case one of them did escape.

Any hope Wren had of trying to sneak up on the Eevee was negated by the sheer amount of times that Stormi had fallen flat on her face. It would have been funny, if it hadn't been for the branches and rocks she'd run into. Actually, Stormi was the first one to find a rather large Eevee, stumbling into him and sending both tumbling some distance away. The Eevee wasn't too pleased and used Quick Attack only to be hit back with a Brutal Swing that sent him flying back into a tree. "Stormi, sweetie, go easy on the dear," Wren called out, shaking their head at the Stufful's grumbling.
Wren laughed and tossed a Nest Ball at the Eevee only to see a particularly tiny Eevee run forward and use Swift at the unsuspecting Stufful. Stormi couldn't see where the attack had come from and fell on her face again. "Oh Stormi... Mockingjay, dear, transform into Tori, will you~?" The ditto obliged, changing form from the skull hair clip to the Clobbopus that was only slightly bigger than the Eevee out of consideration. The Eevee wasn't one to back down so quickly and used another Swift, only to be hit by a rather abrupt Brick Break. A cry came from the Eevee as she opted to try and Tackle the Clobbopus. Mockingjay just stood there and took the Tackle but retaliated with another Brick Break that sent the Eevee tumbling head over heels.
As much as Wren knew they shouldn't laugh, it was hard to keep from laughing when their dear Mockingjay looked rather nonplussed as the Eevee kept trying to retaliate. Eventually the Eevee looked tired enough that Wren was able to toss a Great Ball at her. Hopefully she would stay inside but given the battle that had just happened, that was questionable at best.
It would be Rowan that noticed what looked like a bundle of as two Eevees were tumbling about, playing with each other while Koray looked on, unable to hold back his laughter. That was enough to make the Eevees pause, looking up at Koray curiously. If Koray didn't know any better, he would swear that they were twins although one did seem to be almost hiding behind the other. Kneeling down, Koray smiled as Rowan came to settle beside them, making a happy sound at the prospect of new friends, "Hey you two, don't be afraid, we won't hurt you," he encouraged, holding out his hands to the twins, "Do you want to come with us?" he asked softly, holding out a couple Nest Balls to the two of them. The Eevees looked at one another before nodding and pressed the buttons on the balls, disappearing inside.
