It was later in the morning, about 11:45, and Soph was in need of something to do. She'd joined a social media group that let others know when certain jobs were available and decided to check that out. There were a few that she considered, but eventually settled on helping the baker who was having a difficult time with an order that was needed the next day. She posted saying she'd be there soon to give them some piece of mind. Despite the sun shining brightly, it was still rather cold and she bundled up, took some of her Pokemon that may or may not be able to help, and headed out.
Once she arrived, she removed her extra garments, hanging them up in the correct place and got herself an apron. Once that was done, she rolled up her sleeves and decided to help the baker with the big order of cupcakes. That seemed the most beneficial to her.

Eri had a special mission from the stars today, one of her contacts who she'd met on the street a week ago had told her about a local bakery who needed help, because apparently some party was coming up? There was no hesitance from Eri when she took on the job, excited to help! She adored baking, and being able to see faces light up when she offered them her creatures dressed in stardust and star-dazzled coloured- let's ignore the bit that she always went about recipes in a particularly... unorthadox manner.
She'd worn something fairly simple in comparsion to the huge, eccentric pieces she'd usually wear, since she was going to be required to wear an apron anyway. She'd entered the place with a huge beam on her face, a bag with her two latest eggs (Vulpix and Passimian) tucked away to her side, bundled in blankets and being kept warm. A bakery would be a great place for them- maybe the smells and the utter rush of creating something lovingly would be able to help mould the eggs characters- or something?
"Ittt's a starry day~" She called, as she weaved her way over to where the aprons were, tugging one on and tying her hair back. She'd moved to put her satchel with her eggs to the side, out of the way from all the benches just by the pantry before making her way over to where the baker and another girl stood, her hands extending outwards in an attempt at a double-handshake. "Eri Novae, breeder to the stars, here to help the stars with the cupcakes?"
The baker is pleased as punch that the two of you have arrived to help, and shakes your hands eagerly. "The cupcakes, yes? Well. No time to waste, the party is tomorrow morning!"
They show you the cupboards where the ingredients and baking trays are kept, before bustling off to another part of the kitchen and leaving you to your work.
Oh! Soph... didn't realize she'd be working with someone else. As Eri approached, the black-haired woman got a touch anxious. She was very bubbly and Soph was definitely not. She could do this! Returning the handshakes to both the owner of the bakery and the other girl, she would go about taking out ingredients.
"I am Soph Abelen," she'd introduce herself in turn. "It's good to meet you. We should be able to get this done for him quickly." All of this was said quietly, which was the only reason she managed not to trip over her own words. Once she'd gotten the ingredients out, she moved to wash her hands and then get the bowls and utensils they'd need.

"Pleasure to meet you, Pandora!" As Soph had begun gathering ingredients, Eri had moved to search through the cupboards for the biggest bowl she could find, that and piping bags, mixing bowls, some pretty shiny metal things, anything that grabbed her attention- really she got a little distracted, but could you blame her? When Soph came back for the things and also did the same Eri quickly took stock on what was grabbed, her eyes moivng to check on her eggs for a second before- oh!
A recipe book! Eri rushed over to the front of the kitchen, panning through a few stacks that she saw before picking out a baking one, running over and presenting it to Soph excitedly, "We don't have to follow it fully, but the stars led me to this~" there was a giggle to her tone, and she moved to place it on the table, opening it up as she spoke.
"So we gotta combine all the dry stuff in... the really big bowl?" There was a tilt to her head, and she glanced back at Soph, as if making complete sure that was the case., as she watched the girl, however, she couldn't help but notice. "You- you're gonna be a big star one day!" It came out in a gasp, and she beamed at Soph- it was completely off topic, not that Eri really cared or noticed.
Pandora? She wasn't sure how the girl had gotten that out of Soph, but she wasn't the argumentative type and just went with it. Looking over the things they'd gathered, though, she was pretty pleased with her cooking partner. Eri had grabbed plenty of things that she would've forgotten. When she started speaking of the stars leading her to the recipe, though, Soph felt a bit of concern. She didn't know much about mediums or psychics or anything like that except that there was a lot more questions than answers when it came to the supernatural.
As she was nodding, Eri looked over and spoke of being a big star, which caused Soph's cheeks to flush. "M-me? N-no, that's... there's no way, I'm, I'm nothing spe--I'm not that great at anything," she responded and went about trying to measure out the dry ingredients to add to the bowl.
Eri moved to help Soph measure ingredients, double checking before adding the dry ingredients to the big bowl and reaching for a spoon, all but keen to mix them all together! As she spoke however Eri found another laugh bubbling up from her throat, the girl said she wasn't great at anything? No! That couldn't be true! Pandora was a star, she could see it now.
"Aw, that's just not true, Pandora!" She peered at the mixture for a second before working at the chunks, wet ingredients would have to be soon, right? "The stars tell me things- they let me see into the fates, actually! And I can see it now, you, you're going to be big, and something special to the people around you, and i'd love to be able to help you however I can~" There was a melodic tone to her voice as she passed the sppon to Soph so she could continue mixing while Eri moved to grab at the wet ingredients, all but ready to combine them in a smaller bowl. Her eyes passing over where her eggs were settled for a moment as an idea came to mind.
"If you don't believe me, Pandora, I could predict your stellar future after~"
Uh oh... it looks like Soph, in her flustered state mixed up the sugar and the salt! Will Eri notice before it's too late? Hopefully the stars will be able to guide her in time.
See the fates? Oh, goodness. Oh, what was she to do? Soph was a bit of a skeptic, even if she'd never outright say she didn't believe in future sight in humans. Now she was being offered a fortune? She'd probably have to entertain this girl on it later. "Predict my future?" She murmured quietly, contemplatively. If this girl thought it would be stellar, it really couldn't hurt, after all.
She looked over at Eri's hands, holding the eggs and getting ready to start the wet ingredients. They were making pretty good progress, she thought. Hopefully the cupcakes would taste all right... "OH! Let me... um, I'm going to make sure the oven is ready, or well, at the right temperature." Preheating was important and although it probably was already on, since the baker was so swamped, she wanted to be sure they didn't accidentally burn what they were trying to help with.
As Pandora moved to preheat the oven, Eri took her time finally combining both the wet and dry ingredients! Grabbing a spoon she folded and mixed them in the best she can- a bit of stardust here- a bit of milky way here... Keep it in order, Eri! Thick, creamy, no chunks! Folding, moving, that was the jist of it, right? "Yeah! I get it from my mothers- i'm able to predict your future given to me by the fates, if I chose to ask them~" There was a soft hum to her tone, and she moved to dip her finger into the mixture and put it to her mouth, tasting to see if it tasted alright. "I can do yours after, if you want?"
As she tasted, she thought about what the stars would want in the mixture. A bit of sugar? A bit of love- she glances back at her eggs for a few moments, deep in thought. "...When do we add the sprinkles and the icing sugar?" She moved to peer at the recipe for a moment, in thought. Was it to the decorations? Or should it be folded into the batter for a special surprise? She turned back to Soph, quirking an eyebrow and waiting for a response-
all the while grabbing out the pan that they'd have to put the batter on.
"Um... Sure, why not?" Soph could think of a few reasons why not, actually, but she was willing to entertain the girl and her supposed abilities. It couldn't really do any actual harm, so... yeah, anyway. With the oven at the right temperature and Eri wondering about the decorative ingredients, the black-haired woman walked back over.
"Well, I think in this case, they're just for decorations. Maybe we can ask the baker if we can make some sugar cookies with sprinkles mixed in for ourselves after," she suggested lightly. Surely they could use his supplies and such in exchange for slightly less pay or something if they helped him catch up enough.
As Soph agreed Eri let out a cheer, pausing in her baking duties for a moment to clap her hands once in celebration. “The stars will grace you, I’m sure of it!” Oh, the girl wouldn’t be disappointed at all! She’ll be sure to ask the stars for the best prediction possible, and just hope that they give… something that doesn’t result in her getting slapped again. Probably- maybe. But first- right- baking!
As Soph explained how they probably couldn’t bake in the decorations Eri hummed softly- right that probably made sense. “Well, if you say so, Pandora!” A laugh, “Hopefully we can ask to make sugar cookies with the extra bits, then? I’m sure they’d be stellar!” Eri checked the temperature of the oven, making sure it was right before moving to pick up the tray and slide it in, closing the lid right after and setting the timer. Her eggs were a little further off, so hopefully the heat wouldn’t get to them.
“…About…twenty minutes- do we prepare the decoration stuff then?”
Everything is in order, and all is well. There appears to be some sort of instant-frosting already prepared in the fridge, but making your own might be a good idea as well since you don't know how long it has been sitting. Either way, you have some downtime.
The cupcakes went in and Soph allowed herself to relax a little bit as she watched Eri set the timer. "Hopefully," she agreed. Honestly, even if he wasn't willing to just give it to them, the dark-haired female was more than willing to pay him to allow them the time and ingredients to make some cookies.
"Hmm. We'll need, uh... frosting," Soph said quietly and went looking for any the baker had premade. Okay, so there certainly was some, but... "Let's... make some," she offered, pulling out her phone to pull up a simple cream cheese frosting recipe and went about gathering up the needed supplies. "Can you grab a medium bowl and... if he has a hand-held electronic mixer, that would... that would be great," she asked of her temporary coworker.
Oooh, frosting? Eri clapped her hands once in excitement, pausing to check on her eggs for a moment before going to awkwardly peer around the kitchen... what was needed for frosting, again? Eri wasn't the best baker, unless the stars wanted her to be, she was just... mediocre. As Soph gave her intructions and something to get, however, her smile returned full-force to her face, "Anything the stars want, Pandora, i'll gladly get!"
She moved now, across the room to the cupboard, and shuffled through for a moment until she grabbed out a bowl that looked around medium sized, as well as.... what looked to be a mixer? Eri wasn't too sure, but she returned to Soph with a giggle and a fancy presentation of the items, "Retrieved! Let's get to work, star!"
You go about whipping up the ingredients, but one of you notices one of the sticks of cream cheese smells a little funny. Better toss that one out and get another one or risk it tasting bad.
The lavender-haired girl's enthusiasm was infectious. Which, for Soph, really just meant she was smiling and less nervous. She still felt awkward, but hey, that was like her constant state. "Perfect, thank you," she said as Eri presented the items she'd asked for. The dark-haired girl herself had gathered cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. She forgot to check the dates on the cream cheese, however...
Soph went about putting a few of the room temperature sticks of butter into the bowl and then onto the cream cheese. By the time she'd gotten to the one that wasn't good, Seseli had forcibly emerged from his Pokeball and leaped up to snatch it out of her hand. The woman looked a little taken aback by the Lucario doing this, only for him to extend his arm to make her sniff the cream cheese. She did have to lean down to do this, but realized quickly what the problem was. "O-oh... Thank you, Seseli..." The fighting type was excessively small, standing just a little less than a foot and a half tall. He gave Eri a curious look and stared at her as he tossed the bad-smelling cream cheese into the trash.
Eri bounced foot to foot as she watched Soph begin to combine the ingredients, excited for the sweet decorating goodness- however was startled back as the small Lucario burst from it's ball! A loud gasp left Eri's lips as she stumbled around for balance- it was so unexpected. She was almost going to make some sort of comment about the star guides want to be out, however instead blinked as it... found some off cream cheese?
Oh! That's actually amazing! A gasp left Eri's lips as she beamed at the starguide, "Oh, they're just the sparkliest, Pandora!" A giggle as she moved over to help with the combining, readying the vanilla extract to add in and getting a spoon ready. "A perfect star guide!"
