Pine Town was… something. Gabe’s eyes flickered from one building to the next as he made his way around it. He wasn’t particularly fond of the rough and rugged look, and the looks he was receiving in turn were kind of annoying. In the back of his mind, he was reminded again why he often shipped things from Pine rather than coming down himself. Never mind that it was a trek to get down there to begin with. But he had something of interest to follow up on, and if he had found out she lied well… Well.
Gabe stopped in a few shops and stores before actually heading out towards the mines themselves. He wanted to see what was there and was glad to find that he had most of what he needed to be walking down around there already. His steel toed winter boots and cleats were good enough for mine walking, and his long tan coat wasn’t new enough to worry about dust and debris. He already had a white air mask in his bag, and the only really new piece of clothing on him was a bright orange scarf that had been wrapped around and folded down to keep him that much warmer. He was fine.
Thereafter… it was down into the mines he went, wandering around and occasionally asking those he ran into if they had seen a girl with long pink hair. A few of them pointed in different directions, and Gabe went with his gut on those matters. When he finally made the corner of one of the tunnels, though, he stopped on seeing a flash of pink. “Well now.”

"Facile là-bas, petite fille. Ce n'est pas une pierre légère." Senara scolded lightly the sound of her voice reverberating down the tunnel just so. It was a quiet day in the mines much to her delight. She'd called out Baby Girl to help her locate some choice gems and shards--under her watchful eye, of course, so that she didn't snack of them instead--and Polochon her Snorlax to do the heavier lifting, then set off to dive deep into Pine Town's numerous mines for the physical part of her research. She liked doing this sort of thing. It was relaxing to be in the cool, quiet depths of the earth, finding treasures both literal and metaphorical alike. It wasn't always fruitful but it was always very interesting.
Baby Girl let out a small grunt as the green gem she'd been reaching for went from her master's hands to her own, and nearly knocked her clean over with its size and weight. Polochon snickered before lifting it off of her with ease. "Je t'avais prévenu! Oie idiote."
Senara pushed aside a bit more rubble that had settled around her heavy boots, kicking the more obviously worthless pieces to the wide. Her overalls were covered in dirt, but at least the gloves and helmet kept her hands and hair from meeting a similar fate. Her nose had a little but of dirt on it behind her safety goggles. It wasn't a clean or tidy job. She wasn't embarrassed to be seen like this, though, by the other miners in the town. They knew her well enough, weren't any more social than she was on a good day, and tended to trust those who did their job well without complaining, such as she did.
So when she heard a mostly unfamiliar voice speak up she turned to look, furrowing her brow when she couldn't make them out quite clearly. They were on her bad side and it wasn't especially well lit in this part of the tunnels, so unless she wanted to blind the person with her mining helmet's light they'd need to come closer.
How many pink haired women were in the mines, Gabe had to wonder. Hopefully not a lot to begin with. And not many with a Sableye in her party. And hopefully not many who also spoke Kalosian like that. Gabe’s lips twitched up. No, he was pretty sure he had the right person. “Well…”
Setting his hands in his pockets, Gabe walked forward nonchalantly. “I’ve been looking for you, Blissey,” he mused with a particularly catty grin. “I’m glad you didn’t lie to me about these Pine Mines…” He came to stop almost a little too close to her now. “The Birch Halloween ball was a lot of fun wasn’t it?” He was grinning now, but with the lighting the way it was, it was probably hard to tell just what kind of grin that was. “I came to see what it is you do aside from steal from random people at social gatherings.” Was that too much? Was his voice laced with venom? Or was that just the sing song tone he was using for every statement now?

Well. There goes today.
Senara's mouth thinned into a line at the very first sentence, and only dipped lower in the corners with every word following it. Blissey. Shit. This was the bastard who'd dressed like a Purrloin at the ball, whom she'd tried to rob and...well, she had successfully gotten the money, but not through stealing. She still didn't understand why he'd bothered to give it to her when he could have just scared her off empty-handed, but for whatever the reason, he'd chosen to let her go without telling the police and without taking the money. They were either as bad as she was--with much better luck--or insane. Or an asshole.
When he got within a few feet, Baby Girl stepped between the stranger and Senara, her sharp teeth exposed in a grimace that nearly matched Senara's own. She snapped her teeth at him twice and growled. An obvious display of distrust and anger. Touch her and you lose those fingers.
"Petite fille, arrête." Senara snapped back, putting her hand on her Sableye's head. It did nothing to deter the glare Gabe was still getting. "...wonderful seeing you again. I don't know why you'd assume I would lie to you. Unless you're used to such dishonesty yourself?" Slowly she stood up from the kneeling position she'd been in to her full (still far shorter than Gabe's own) height. She didn't bother smiling. "What else do people do in mines but mine, oh observant one? Now that you've sated your curiosity, will you go?"
Without a crowd she was much less jumpy, but the facade had broken that night and wasn't coming back. She had no reason to be nice anymore. At least right now, they were on even ground. He could hurt her, but not without getting bitten in the process.
Polochon, absolutely not giving a shit about the tension in this meeting, waddled back to where Senara's backpack was up against the wall and put the gem inside, then up to Gabe to pull on his sleeve. The tiny Snorlax looked up and him with a bright smile.
Senara glared flatly at her Pokemon. You traitor. You just want to see if he'll feed you.
Gabe’s gaze flicked down to the Sableye as she got between him and her trainer. Those sharp teeth and fierce diamond eyes didn’t seem to scare him nearly as much as it should have, though. He had plenty of backup if need be that day. “My, aren’t you cute,” he grinned instead.
His gaze flicked up immediately again as the woman started speaking, and a soft puff of laughter escaped from him in response. “No, of course not myself, but plenty of people have lied to me,” he answered sweetly. At the follow up question, he smiled and shrugged his shoulders. “No, I don’t think I will,” he answered. “I’ve never mined myself so I’m… curious.”
Hm? What was this? Looking down at what was most definitely a Snorlax but felt much more like a Munchlax staring up at him, Gabe smiled. “Why hello there tiny friend,” he smiled unwilling to extend a hand to pat the creature least it bite. “I don’t have anything for yo— hm actually….” He shifted the bag at his shoulder and pulled a zipper to quickly pull a berry. He held it forward and waited.

Did she think he would actually take the "request" to leave? No, of course not. Did she hope he would? Absolutely. But it was a fool's dream. Senara let out a little huff and took a few quick steps to her backpack to open the main compartment, pushing things inside around with a series of clinks and clanks, until she procured a mining helmet--one without a flashlight in it--from within and held it just ever-so-slightly from arm's length to Gabe. "Then if you insist on staying and annoying me, at the very least put this on. If you get hit with a rock and knocked out the process of me dragging you back out through the tunnels, or having to report your death, will eat up valuable research time."
Baby Girl growled again and scampered up Senara's body to perch on her shoulder, now primed to pounce and bite him if he went for anything other than the helmet itself.
"J'ai dit arrête ça. Pas au travail." She hissed at her Pokemon, but nothing changed.
The offered berry was quickly plucked from his palm with nimble little claws, examined once over, and then popped whole into Polochon's mouth where it was quickly devoured. He looked so damn pleased with himself for getting a snack, Senara wanted to walk over and bop him in his smug little face. Deceptively cute was her thing, dammit, and Gabe already knew it was an act from her. Why bother giving the same attention to a Snorlax. I mean, I fell for it the first time...
Thanks for the vote of confidence, brain.
"I'd not give him any more, he's already eaten about..." she pursed her lips as mental calculations ran through her head, "One and a quarter times his weight in food today. And he won't stop if you don't." Polochon stuck his tongue out at his trainer. She easily ignored him. "If there's nothing else you want than to stand there staring at me I do have work I was doing. Feel free to loom further back. Or, hell," she pointed towards the far edge of the tunnel, "Go do yourself a favor and try to find something interesting."
A look of surprise flashed across Gabe’s features as the mining helmet was produced and held out to him. The explanation that followed, though, earned a sharp snort back. “Thanks for your concern,” he mused stepping forward and taking it. His gaze flicked up to the Sableye before down to the helmet again. Fiddling with its edges in his hands, Gabe slowly set it on his head only to wince. “Oof…” That was a lot heavier than he realized even in his hands. “How do you not strain your neck with these?”
As the Sableye hissed, Gabe glanced up again. “She the one who eats your jewelry, I take it?” he asked already assuming. As the berry he’d been holding was snatched, though, his gaze shifted down to the tiny Snorlax again. He’d never seen one so small… He kind of wanted to squish it for some reason. Like squish it till it squished into nothingness. “Hm?” Oh wow. “A hungry boy heh…” Gabe snickered softly at that remark. “I see….” Well, he wouldn’t waste Pokemon food at least.
Looking back up again at the pink haired woman again, Gabe slowly folded his arms and leaned against a wall. “A couple of the miners I asked called you Sena,” he stated instead. “It’s nice to put a name to a face.” Yes he was going to keep standing there bothering her, heh.

"I have one specifically fitted for me, since I'm down here a lot. That's just a spare, so it's not as perfect for your gonflé head," Senara, now empty handed again, returned to the place she had been picking at before hand. Kneeling in the rubble she pushed aside some debris and started to pick at some of the larger clumps with a small implement that was to soft to scratch anything of value that might be inside, but sturdy enough to chip the dirt and mud away. "Or you just get a stronger neck. If it bothers you too much, you can stick your scarf or something between it and your scalp to help with the pressure."
With her trainer back to focusing partially on her work and partially on the thing that did not leave, Baby Girl dropped back to the ground. Her eyes still did not leave Gabe.
"She is. Watch any rings you might have on, they'll just make your fingers appetizing."
Polochon looked less thrilled that his trick had been blown open, but not ashamed that he'd tried it in the first place. It had gotten him a snack and that's what mattered. Still, he hung around closer to the backpack, waiting for another heavy thing to lift or for one of the two humans to give him more food. Whichever came first. Lucky Baby Girl, being able to eat rocks like berries. If he could do that he'd be perfectly happy in these caves.
Senara brushed away what she'd loosened with her implement with her thumb. There was something harder inside here but it wasn't too clear what it was yet. It wasn't just plain rock, though. Not dense enough for the size it was for that. She shot Gabe a look from under the rim of her helmet when he opted to stand there and keep talking. Irritant. "Senara." She was a little too quick to correct him, and immediately wanted to ask who'd given him that name in the first place. It wasn't only a name she didn't go by but people around here weren't too kind to strangers; they should have run Gabe off.
So much for that Pine Town hospitality.
"It's better than 'Blissey', I suppose. Pas que je m'en soucie." With more than half of the dirt cleared from the object she switched out the plastic implement to a small brush, dipped it into a small amount of water, and began to gently clean the stone inside. "Well you've got me now, both name and face. Félicitations, you solved my final riddle." Was that a faint green sheen she saw beneath the dirt? She kept cleaning. "Do you want a cookie for your effort or just indifference? Because I have one of those to give to you."
Gabe Alim WC: 468 Casually building up my [Mining Skill] while bitching at Gabe. <3
Gabe’s yellow eyes watched unblinkingly as debris was moved, cleaned, and prepped. She knew what she was doing. As if that wasn’t obvious from having a fitted helmet. Among other things.
He could feel the gaze of the Sableye on him but wouldn’t meet it just yet. If she wanted to attack him, she was free to— But that wouldn’t be a good idea. At the mention of rings, though, he habitually spun the gold one on his index finger. There was no gem attached, so she’d really have to bite his finger off if she wanted it. “Good to know,” he murmured back.
Senara was it? A catty smile flashed across Gabe’s lips at the spurned response, and maybe for a moment it was clear that he just might have said the prior to irritate her. His features flattened again though just as quickly. At the follow up question, though, he let out a small hum. “No…. though I would like to offer you a proposition,” he paused and waited for any sign she was listening before going on. “I plan on robbing a bank.”
Senara gently ran her thumb over the shining stone beneath its shell of dirt and clay, the sheen of it more visible under the direct light of her mining helmet, but not perfectly. She needed to get a better lighting than the mines to discern what it was and she wanted to do the extraction as gently as possible in case it was something valuable...bah, but she didn't want to go home yet, not while Gabe was lurking around her. If he followed her or asked to come along she could just tell him to go away, but he still had dirt on her, didn't he? He'd said he wouldn't turn her in that night, but that didn't mean he wouldn't just change his mind, or that he wouldn't make good on his "promise" now instead of later.
Even if they were interesting to talk to in a "I don't need to be fake around you" sense, they were still an enigma. An irritating, slightly frightening, very confusing enigma.
She slid the stone into a thatch bag and held it out to Polochon, who took it and set it, too, into her bag without any fuss. As she did so she glance at Gabe, showing she was listening to this "proposition"...and then he opened his mouth again and she nearly dropped the stone mid-pass off from how goddamn blunt he was in his...what the hell???
"Pardon?" Senara turned to stare wide-eye'd at Gabe. She had not misheard them, as much as she had hoped she had. Well. If they were being serious, this would give her the proof she'd been wondering on about why he hadn't taken her to the police for trying to rob him. Polochon snickered behind his claws at the dumbstruck look on her face. Slowly she stood up to her full height (which was, still, far shorter than Gabe was to her great annoyance) and looked him over for any sign of jest, one blonde eyebrow raised high enough to be hidden behind her helmet. "...you're serious? If you are, then talk a lot quieter. I know it doesn't look like it but there's a lot of ears in these mines."
Senara glanced down the tunnel behind her, her voice dropping to a hush when her eye returned to Gabe's again. "Three questions before I even consider this. One," she held up a single finger--well, her thumb, but same thing, right? "Where, because if it is anywhere near Pine, I'm going to say no, because I have a reputation here and would be far too easily recognized if anything went wrong. Two," a second finger, "How, because if you haven't got a ghost of a plan there is no way I'm throwing my hat in the ring. C'est stupide. And three," her third finger went up, "Why the actual hell would I help you?"
"If you haven't noticed, I have a job and a profession. It doesn't pay too badly, either." Senara crossed her arms over her chest. "So I've got no monetary reasons for wanting to commit a crime on that high a level. I don't need to steal to keep food on the table or even to be comfortable. I just do it for fun, and my idea of "fun" isn't "I end up in jail"."
"So what's in it for me?"
She paused, and her cool expression twirled into a slight smirk.
"Hmm, guess I had four questions after all."
Gabe Alim WC: 583 She's totally in, she's just being difficult. ...like most criminals are apt to be.
Gabe’s lips sealed shut but quirked upwards as Senara turned wide eyed to him. His gaze held hers, and he shrugged his shoulders once as if he were discussing the weather or something equally mundane. The look in his eyes even unlit, however, was serious enough. His gaze shifted as she stood, but his features never once moved.
The question after earned a small nod only in response. Ears were the last thing he really wanted to deal with, so actually— “Hah, no, I meant finding a pocket of gold here in the mine, of course… hoped you would show me where it was,” Gabe said a little louder, his voice raising to a half laugh even though his features and gaze didn’t match in the least. “Who would ever actually consider robbing a bank in this day and age.” The dissonance between his words and voice and the seriousness of his features was probably creepy by that point, but Gabe left it there.
He was quiet after, listening more carefully now as Senara whispered out a number of questions. He waited until she was done before raising a hand in a similar manner to hers. “One, it’s in Plum City, quite a bit a ways away from Pine and easy to get lost in,” his voice was quieter now yet fluid enough to be understood. “A particular bank transfers physical money on a biweekly basis from its main branch out of the country to the one in Plum. It has to restart many of its security measures during this time in order to not set off its own alarms. This is by far the weakest point in time for physical security. Sharing further details before we have a deal would be misguided on my part.”
Gabe paused and seemed to shift his weight from one foot to the other before fishing out a phone from his pocket and flipping through some screens before holding it forward. “This should answer your other questions.” The image was that of a stunningly priceless sapphire necklace and earring set. “The Regice Sapphires are currently located in a safety deposit box in this bank.” Sad to say, such a regal name was only in name only. The sapphires were claimed to be as reflective and polished as Regice itself, hence the name, but they were in no way related to the actual legendary Pokemon. If that hadn’t been the case, Gabe would have been much much more interested in them for himself.

It was dumb to be having this discussion here. Senara had worked her tail off to build a positive reputation in Pine Town given how harshly they treated outsiders, and even just thinking about how they would treat her if they knew she was a criminal made her want to scream. It was why she didn't steal from people here, or even from people she knew to be from here as well when out in the world. She couldn't risk destroying her facade.
But before she took any precautions she wanted to be sure this was worth it.
Alas, Gabe knew--whether it was intentional or whether he thought it was something she'd be interested without knowing her preferences--just how to grab her attention. She leaned in a little to get a better look at the phone screen, then pulled back with her hand over her mouth to try and hide the small "o" of surprise that appeared on it. Oh. Oh my. Those gems were absolutely gorgeous! What were they doing in some safety deposit box in a bank? Gathering dust? Jewels like that were one-of-a-kind and should be kept in a place they could be cherished and shined and adored, not locked away to never see the light of day or the adoration and admiration they brought. That was criminal in itself!
She managed to only just collect herself with a sharp cough before she lowered her hand. And found Baby Girl was peeking out from behind her leg, staring, too, at the picture on the phone. She was purring. Senara looked down at her and glared at the greedy beast. "Absolument pas! Vous n'allez pas en manger une seule bouchée, pas dans des milliards d'années! Pas dans un million d'années!" Baby Girl hissed up at her.
"You make a very compelling case, peu voleuse." Senara returned her smile to Gabe after scolding her equally-terrible Sableye. She then looked over her other shoulder at Polochon who was looking rather bored by this conversation. "Polochon, collect my bag. Let's find a place more appropriate for this discussion than in public, shall we?"
Polochon shrugged and bent down just enough to pick up the backpack and sling it over his tiny form. Compared to him--hell, even compared to her when she wore it--the bag was huge. It was more of a nuisance to her than him, though, since there was very little that could tip or toddle a five-hundred pound Snorlax, no matter how small he was. He came up to her side and she pulled out a pokeball, holding it over Baby Girl. "Et toi, petit salaud, tu peux rentrer. Les mineurs ne peuvent pas voir que je fais venir un mangeur de pierres précieuses dans les mines." A beam of red light escape the ball, encased Baby Girl's form, and in a matter of seconds she was reabsorbed into her Pokeball again.
With that she walked around Gabe back to where he'd come in. "Come on, come on, before I change my mind." She made sure to keep him on the side of her that she could actually see out of. "And while we're walking, subject change. You actually came to find me. Was it just for this? Or are you expecting me to pay you back for your...donation."
Bingo…. Gabe smirked a little at Senara’s response. He’d hoped someone living in a mining town working in the mines wearing a custom mining helmet would show at least some interest in these pretty gems. The comments to the Sableye were lost in translation but not lost in tone or emphasis. A small chuckle escaped from Gabe. Good, at least he had gotten her attention. The mention of slipping out of public had Gabe slowly stepping back and turning on his heels and waiting.
As Senara walked around him, Gabe set his hand sin his pockets and followed after. “You won’t,” was all he emphasized back. As they walked and the subject changed, Gabe shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t expect things from people. They always disappoint me.” He flashed a grin sideways at her. “The only reason I came to find you was because you happened to have already displayed some qualities I like.” A pause. “But if you want to owe me, then of course you can.” Gabe snickered.
He’d follow after her through the tunnels not entirely willing to admit that he didn’t remember the way back that well anyways.
"Please. I owe you nothing now. You got a means to find me, and now you've gotten my name and my attention. I think that's worth even more than a hundred pen, wouldn't you agree?" Senara spoke with her smirk audible in her tone, even without raising her head enough for Gabe to actually see it. Hmm, if she had half a mind to start analyzing his words, she'd have to imagine he was a pretty lonely, bored, sad little person, especially if he put "has tried/failed to rob me and I found it funny" into his list of qualities he liked.
Not that she was any better. Those gems were breath-taking, but were they worth it?
Duh.
Okay, but is he worth them?
Senara knew the tunnels well, having been working here for quite some time. As she went past a few familiar faces she flashed her most polite smile and offered little good-bye's and see-you-tomorrow's in a cheery tone--not too unlike her behavior from the ball, but ever so slightly calmer just because she knew the people better. Pine Town wasn't exactly known for being friendly or cheerful so she didn't need to put on the saccharine shtick too strongly. The end of the mines were just in sight, a cool mid-afternoon blue-gray glow coming through from the mouth of the cavern.
"You never did tell me what your other costumes were at the ball," she mused as she blinked her eyes, the one that could see slowly adjusting to the light. Polochon yawned. "Did you have any more changes before the evening was over?...I would hope that I wasn't the most interesting thing you found that night, because that would just be sad."
A small snort escaped from Gabe as Senara suggested that a hundred pen was the sum total of her name, attention, and time. Whether she was high balling that figure or low balling it, he wouldn’t get into right then. Still, he followed after her, occasionally glancing sideways as she acknowledged others as they passed.
His gold eyes squinted as they came into the light again, and he distantly wished he had a pair of sunglasses. “I had seven total, Litwick, Mismagius, Purrloin, Gothitelle and three others,” he answered with a small, dry grin. “And no, the award for most interesting individual actually went to a particular Gardevoir.…” A strange thud reverberated in Gabe’s chest, and he took in a slower breath as though to compensate. “But she’s not exactly in my line of work.” To say the least.
Post by Senara Spargo on Nov 21, 2019 16:34:00 GMT
Seven total costumes?? Where in the world had he been hiding them? Was the whole costume just a ditto or something? No, that'd be ridiculous. But more or less ridiculous than bringing seven costumes to a single costume ball? Then again if she'd brought a second costume she might have felt less frightened by him catching her, since she could have just ducked away and changed into another costume. Hindsight, twenty-twenty. "Your line of work?...so are you a criminal through and through? Beurk, I'm frightened to know what sort of person you'd find 'most interesting'." Senara scoffed, though she was still a little curious. Pressing would be dumb right now, though, since they weren't in any way friends. He'd have no reason for sharing, nor would she for wanting to know.
From the mines, they went through Pine Town, but only a few streets down from the mountain's edge. The buildings weren't pretty but they were comfortable and well-kept. She enjoyed the feeling of this city--and of course its beautiful and plentiful mines--more than she liked the look of it. She gestured to a short apartment complex on one side of the street a little ways down from their current position. "Not too far. Don't make a lot of noise until we're inside, the land-lady isn't very keen on having unexpected guests."
Senara opened the front door to the building into a small lobby, then pulled a ring of keys from off one of her belt-loops to open the second door that lead into the building proper. There were the expected mailboxes lining the walls for a total of five apartments, plus one that was likely meant for the land-lady herself. Senara's was on the first floor above ground-level so it was a short walk up a flight of stairs to reach it. The mailbox had her full name on it, so Gabe would be able to see it, but whatever. He was already here.
With another key from the ring she opened the simple white wooden door to her apartment and pushed it open. It was pitch black inside; the few windows on the east side were blocked with heavy curtains and the lights were off, naturally. She stepped to the side for Gabe to go first. "Welcome to my apartment. If your boots are muddy take them off--there's a rack on your left. And no I don't have slippers. You'll have to suffer." Not that it was very cold inside the room; but the floor wasn't carpeted except for the bedroom, so it still wouldn't be super warm for those without socks or slippers. She'd slip inside after her guest and flick on the light-switch beside the door as soon as she had her own dirty mining boots off and tossed gracelessly towards the rack.
It wasn't a large apartment, but it wasn't cramped. There was plenty of open space between the living/dining room and kitchen, with a short hallway off to the side that led to the bathroom and bedroom and "study" that had started its life as a second bedroom but had quickly been repurposed for her collections of mined goods and evolutionary stones. There was a rolled up deep-blue futon(?) underneath a quilt atop a comfortable looking white couch...only...the futon was slowly moving up and down, like it were breathing...?
"Crepe, didn't I say to stay in your pokeball until I got home?" Senara clicked her tongue against her teeth in a lightly scolding manner. The futon(?) didn't budge. Polochon went around her, set the bag onto the floor by the rack, and went up to the couch and literally flopped himself up onto the blanket-covered futon(??). A low groan of annoyance came from it, and slowly a long, wing-like fin unraveled and re-wrapped itself over the very small Snorlax, patting it on the back to say "welcome home, now get off me please".
"J'ai une équipe de bébés endormis..." she sighed, but a small, warm smile spread over her face, and she moved towards the kitchen. "Make yourself at home. Want a drink?"
Was he a criminal through and through? Gabe flashed a smile but didn’t answer. Stating it outright then seemed a little silly. Instead, he followed her through the streets of Pine on to wherever it was she resided. He hummed a little to himself up until she mentioned not making a lot of noise and then fell off into silence entirely thereafter. His gaze swept the area as they entered it and continued to do so as they climbed the stairs. He registered her surname only briefly before sorting this information away for later.
The darkness of the room, however, had Gabe pausing. A guarded look came and went from his gaze before he stepped in and just as well stepped to the side to take off his boots. The socks underneath them were mismatched. One was a neon green, and the other was a neon pink. With the mention that there weren’t any house shoes to be had, he left said socks on.
As the lights flicked on, Gabe squinted and then looked around for a moment. He wasn’t sure what he had been expecting, but it looked perfectly adequate. It really wasn’t until Senara had said anything that Gabe registered the futon was actually breathing and very much alive. Oh— that was a…. Gabe slowly scooted over to it and leaned in to squint for a moment. Mantine wasn’t it?
He stood upright again when Senara started talking and looked back towards the kitchen right after. “Sure, water’s fine unless you just so happen to have Glacepop.” The Glaceon inspired soda was… perhaps a personal weakness, but its rarity in some parts of Arciel made it that much more addictive, somehow.
The kitchen was only separated from the rest of the room by a dining table, atop which were more papers and books than there actually were plates and cups. She opened the fridge to check what was inside. "I haven't heard of that one, is it native to somewhere?" Perhaps to where they come from? I never asked that, did I? "I have lemonade, milk, and a few fancy Poké Puffs, in case you change your mind." She took a puff from the fridge before closing it and stepping just enough over to get to the glasses and plates in an over-hanging cabinet. While they weren't as good as homemade ones, pre-packaged Poké Puffs were all she could really get here in Arciel.
She wasn't a bad cook, but decorative pastries were a little out of her skill-range.
And by a little, I mean "a lot".
The mention of food was enough to get Polochon to roll off of Crepe, who breathed out a relieved sigh and began to unfurl himself. With his length one fin draped itself over the back of the couch and the other fell off it and a ways out onto the floor. Only then did he noticed there was another person in the room asides from his trainer and went stock still, then curled back up tight in a small panic. Senara filled a clean glass up with water from the fridge's dispenser for Gabe as well as one for herself, then, maneuvering around the Snorlax that was now glue to her hip, returned to the living/dining room to hand him one.
"Je promets que ce n'est pas drogué. Anyway," she gestured to the couch, taking her own seat at one of the dining table chairs, turned around so she was facing Gabe, "Now that we're safe, I'm dying to know just what your brilliant plan is, oh excentrique."
She unwrapped the Poké Puff, broke it in two, and gave one half to Polochon--who ate it in one bite, naturally--and held the other in the general direction of Crepe. He squirmed just enough on the couch to be close enough that when he open his mouth she could drop the pastry in without any more effort. She snorted and dusted the crumbs away.
Gabe watched Senara from the corner of his eye. “Hmmm might be, I’ve had it here a couple of times, but it is much more common in Arro,” he answered. Hmmm, did he want to eat? Yes, the answer was always yes, but he decided in this case the answer would be no. He was fine for now. Actually, you know what— Ah, no she just closed the fridge. He’d wait then.
Despite having his attention primarily focused on Senara, Gabe couldn’t help but glanced sideways to the Mantine again as the creature rolled up. Shifting a little to prod it, he might have bothered it more had he not noticed the glass handed his way. Taking it, Gabe sat down on the couch and kind of vaguely leaned against the Mantine in turn. The mention of a brilliant plan, though, had him snorting softly. Sitting back, crossing one leg over the other, and taking a slow sip of water, he took a moment to compose himself before going on.
“The bank is known as Slatewell’s and is based out of the Hoenn Region,” he started up. “It has only recently come to the Arciel region and has only two actual physical banks— one of which is in Plum. As I mentioned, it receives biweekly shipments of raw cash and occasionally other things.” His lips quirked and fell right after. “Its next shipment is in exactly two weeks at six-o-six in the morning at which time the bank will have to lower its security for just a bit in order to get things in the door.”
Gabe smiled. “The plan isn’t to ambush them while transferring— but rather ambush the car before it gets there… and drive it right up to the bank as if nothing’s wrong. Then of course once they open it up for us, it’s just a matter of disposing of those there to receive it and cleaning out the rest of the bank and driving away in their armored car.” He took a slower sip of water after that. “There’s details, obviously, but ….” That was the gist.

Arro, Arro, where in the world was...ah, right. So he wasn't an Arciel native either then. Somewhat interesting but not too interesting. She would have to look up this drink and more about the region later. Wait. No, no she did not. There was no reason to look up things related to them, because she was only interested in this professionally. People weren't nearly as interesting or worth-while as gemstones; he was just a means to an end for her and nothing else. Which was why she had invited them over to her house.
And was kind of enjoying this whole "planning a heist" thing. Dammit.
She made a list of the important details from Gabe's plan in her head. Two weeks from now, Slatewell's Bank, at exactly six-oh-six in the morning, in Plum City. How much time was "for just a bit"? That was important information to be missing out on there. She ran her finger over the lip of the glass until he came to a stop, tilting her head to one side as she formulated her response. One thing stood out more than the rest. "When you say we will 'dispose' of those waiting for the delivery, how do you intend to--or expect me to--do that? Similarly how were you planning on stopping and getting into the armored car?"
