Andrew adored pokemon - that much was safe to say. Talking to people was nerve wracking on a good day, and sometimes even impossible for him on a bad day - but on any day, he has never found a problem in interacting with pokemon. He isn't sure what, exactly, makes them so much easier to talk to - though something about them has always just clicked, and he's always adored them, no matter the shape they come in.
And no matter how dirty they are, either, it seemed.
After having arrived in Bass City, and having bought some proper supplies that he had been lacking before, Andrew had noted that he was starting to run a little low on cash. The idea of getting a job was a little nerve wracking - given that he'd have to talk to someone to get it, which his social anxiety made difficult - but... At the same time, it was astounding to see the different variety of jobs that a trainer could pick up in a given city.
And of all of those jobs, picking up a job to wash some pokemon seemed like a wonderful choice; minimal human interaction, and plenty of interaction with other pokemon. Certainly, they wouldn't exactly be happy pokemon - at least, unless he was assigned to a water type of some sort - but he still enjoyed having a chance to interact with pokemon, and he figured this would be a great way to practice being a groomer, too..! Thus, Andrew would be gathering together the supplies and tools he needed, to wash the large Arcanine that he was assigned to; a rather muddy looking one, at that. And as he got ready, he'd speak to the large canine all the while - softly and friendly.
"Hey there, buddy; how're you feeling? I imagine that a fire type like yourself doesn't enjoy getting wet - I know my Vulpix doesn't - so we'll try our best to get this done with as quickly and as pleasantly as possible. I just need you to be a good Arcanine for me, and cooperate the best you can; okay?" He'd begin - smiling over to the canine in a reassuring fashion. Working solo like this, Andrew felt relaxed enough to talk openly; explaining the process he had in mind to the Arcanine "We're gonna start by rinsing all that mud off of you, put in some nice smelling shampoo, rinse that out, and then dry you off. Then if you're feeling up to it, I'll give you a nice and relaxing brushing afterwards to get out any stubborn debris before the groomers take over; doesn't that sound nice?"
Once everything was gathered, Andrew would go for a hose - setting it low at first, and then slowly adjusting it up until it was at the perfect pressure to rinse the Arcanine off. "Alright; we're gonna start off with the rinsing." He'd speak, once he got the hose's pressure to where he wanted it "Hold still for me, okay buddy?" LaGDFYPz

So far, so good, Andrew figured. The Arcanine seemed friendly and surprisingly happy to be here, despite the fact that he was gonna be receiving a bath. However, as the young man would be quick to find out...
"Gahck!"
... The Arcanine was, perhaps, a little too friendly...! Instead of sitting still, the fiery canine would immediately turn around, and managed to get a few biiiig licks across Andrew's face; nearly dislodging his glasses in the process..!
The young man, understandably, would yelp a bit in surprise - taking a step back, and nearly dropping the hose as he did so. He'd use his free hand to fix his glasses - briefly drying them off on his shirt - all the while softly laughing to the Arcanine. "Pftahahaha; someone's a loveable fella, huh?" He'd tease playfully; smiling warmly. "Hang on just a second, okay?"
Taking another step back from the Arcanine, Andrew would slip off his shoes and socks - setting them away from the bathtub - and roll up his pantlegs a bit. Once finished, he'd approach the bathtub once more - stepping in - with the hose in tow! "Here; you can lick me all you like, while I wash you. That sound good to you?" Andrew suggested, smiling warmly to the larger canine. "I just need you to be careful about my glasses, okay? I need them to see you and your beautiful fur coat, after all!"
With that said, Andrew would return to rinsing the Arcanine; allowing the canine to lick him as much as he pleased. Meanwhile, he would use this as an opportunity to run the fingers of his free hand through the Arcanine's fur to loosen up any mud, and continue to rinse the pooch's fur out with the hose. Hopefully, with the Arcanine's focus on him, the canine would hold still and continue facing him all the while!
As you run your fingers through the Arcanine's fur, it comes off in huge patches! Despite... despite him still having a full coat. It's spring which means spring shedding, and good god this Arcanine is blowing out his coat.
Speaking of fur coat... Andrew, briefly, would be alarmed to see that there was patches of fur coming out of the Arcanine's coat..! However, just as quickly as he was surprised by it all, it hit him: It was spring. Which, surely, meant that this Arcanine was shedding practically bucketfuls of fur...!
"Whew... Looks like getting that shed out is gonna have to be added to the table, too." Andrew mused out loud; grabbing a de-shedding brush, and a large bag to put all the shed fur into. He had brushed Inari's fur enough time, to know how to handle a shedding canine! With these tools, he'd alternate between rinsing the mud out of the Arcanine's fur, and also getting all that shed fur out and into the bag. "It's surprising, just how much fur one pokemon can shed." He'd lightly joke, chuckling.
As he worked though, he'd continue to praise the Arcanine - making sure that the fire-type's cooperation was much appreciated. "Such a good boy, being so cooperative." He'd hum to the fiery canine, smiling brightly. "Gonna need to do just a little more work before we're finished, and I'm sorry for that, but I'm happy that you're being so patient for me; thank you for putting up with this for me, buddy!"

The Arcanine is trying to be patient, but so much water in his fur is kinda uncomfortable! He shakes a couple of times spraying water everywhere! (And especially on you for being so close)
As the Arcanine whined impatiently, Andrew would reach up to pat him on the neck in reassurance. "It's okay, buddy..." He'd gently coo and praise; smiling warmly. "You're doing good, just a little - Ahck..!"
Quite suddenly, the Arcanine would proceed to shake his fur off - water flying everywhere...! And Andrew, being up close and personal, would get the brunt of the spray; his shirt and pants being soaked as a result...! He'd yelp a little, before laughing; squinting past the water drops on the lens of his glasses. "PFtahahaha! Now now; I thought that I was here so that I could wash you, not so that you could wash me..!" He'd tease playfully; petting the top of the Arcanine's head, to let the pooch know that he wasn't angry at all. "I know, I understand you're just feeling antsy. Did you get all that nervous energy out, buddy?"
Chuckling, he'd finish up rinsing out the mud, and then work on finishing de-shedding the Arcanine; mentioning "If you wanna have another shake, just let me know with a bark first, okay? Now's the best time to get all that nervous energy out, before I start putting the shampoo in; and then you can have another good shake after I rinse it all out."
Speaking of which... There were a few different scents of shampoos, that Andrew had picked out...! Once the Arcanine's fur was all de-shedded, and the pooch wasn't quite so antsy anymore, Andrew would retrieve them; uncapping them, and holding the bottles up for the Arcanine to sniff - instructing "Pick out whichever one you like best, and I'll make sure you come out of here smelling extra nice!"
Once the Arcanine had picked out whichever shampoo appealed the most to him, Andrew would squirt a bit out onto his hands - rubbing his palms together to suds them up. "Alright; try your best to not shake too much for me, okay? You're doing so good!" Andrew requested, smiling warmly to the Arcanine as he began to suds up the canine's fur. The last thing either of them wanted, he was sure, was for soap to get into anyone's eyes...!
The Arcanine fidgets a little but is mostly still! You find a hair mat or two... and then find ... is that half a fish sandwich??? kind of just stuck in the Arcanine's fur??? How did that get in there???
Even as the Arcanine fidgeted, Andrew would gently ruffle the canine's fur - both to reassure him, and to get some more shampoo in there. "There there.." He'd murmur reassuringly, offering the Arcanine a warm smile. Considering what Andrew had initially expected when he started this work, the Arcanine - though fidgety and with lots of nervous energy - had been quite well behaved...!
However, then came the strange discoveries in the Arcanine's fur. Firstly, there was a couple of mats - nothing surprising, really. With such a large and thick furred pokemon like Arcanines, they required a ton of brushing to keep their fur in order - and sometimes even then, you'll get mats in the more active ones! Thankfully, the mats in question were small, and Andrew would be able to gently untangle them by massaging in some shampoo, and carefully working through it with his fingers.
However, what Andrew didn't expect was for him to end up pulling out... A half of a fish sandwich, of all things...?! One that absolutely reeked, at that; how long had it been in the Arcanine's fur?? Wrinkling his nose and resisting the urge to retch, Andrew would toss out the sandwich, and give the area extra attention with the shampoo; hoping that he'd be able to get the spoilt fish smell out of the Arcanine's fur.
Once he was satisfied with how sudsed up the Arcanine's fur was, though, he'd get the hose once more - working on rinsing out the shampoo now. "We're almost done, buddy; you're doing wonderful. Just gonna rinse this soap out, and then you'll be free to shake while we dry you off."
It seemed that the pooch had gotten all of his nervous energy out, for the most part; he had stopped fidgeting, allowing Andrew to rinse him off completely. "Atta boyyy..." He'd praise, smiling at the Arcanine's cooperation. "Got all the shampoo out; so you're good to shake your fur off if you're still feeling antsy at all. It'll help with drying you off, in fact." Andrew mentioned, going to get the hairdryer and a towel, to dry off the fiery pooch.
After getting sprayed once again by the Arcanine shaking himself - prompting a brief laugh from Andrew - he'd get to work on drying off the large canine; using the towel to get the majority of the water out of the Arcanine's fur, and then using the hairdryer to finish drying the fur out. Although, it was making the Arcanine's fur puff up a little in the process - making Andrew chuckle a little at the puffball appearance that the canine was receiving - though... "It's okay, the groomers will help manage that fluffy fur of yours," He'd mention, trying to smooth out the fur the best he could with his hands.
Before much longer, the Arcanine's fur would be dried out completely; leaving him clean and ready for the groomers. "There we go... All done!" Andrew chirped, smiling brightly and clapping his hands together once in a cheery gesture. Working with pokemon was great; and the Arcanine being this cooperative and friendly had put him in a wonderful mood. "You're ready to go now; I hope that I did a good job, making things as pleasant as possible for you." He'd mention; gently petting the Arcanine's head. "Now, be a good boy for the groomers, okay? I hope I'll get a chance to see you come out all nice and spiffy, when they're done working with you!" OOC: Finishing my job now!
