Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
A large open area is all that Levy needed. She wasn't looking for any Pokemon to fight in the training grounds, her only intention was to work with her Pokemon and learn some new moves. And her living room was in no way a good place for that. Not after she was still waiting to get a new coffee table.
So she went to the only place she could think of where things could get drowned, singed or otherwise destroyed and no one would likely care. Levy surveyed the area, nodding when she found it to her liking.
"Alright everyone! Showtime!" She called out encouragingly, rhythmatically tapping her fingers against all six balls attached to her belt to release all of the Pokemon she could have on her. Zei, her obvious favorite, Ophi whom she was hoping to bond with more. And the newer Pokemon of a recently named Magikarp, the newly hatched Harmony and Decibel with the recently caught and named Tacet the Alomomola.
"Alright, just like I said earlier guys! We have a big important Showcase coming up that I want us to be a part of! But we can't do that without teamwork!" Levy clapped once, shifting from foot to foot in her excitement. "We need teamwork, and I need to know what we are all capable of at the moment, so let's get down to it." Levy cheered, her team giving up a victory cry of their own.
Her hand shot out to point at Zei. "Start us off buddy, move call!"
Zei smirked, shifting down into a crouch before he was darting forward quickly. Quick attack. Then he summoned up shadows, each one for the current members of her team before he was slamming his tail into the ground. Beat up. He waggled his tail cutely. Tail Whip. And then he ran his claws together, making them enlarge with glowing silver energy. Hone claws.
Now Ophi was up! She coiled herself tightly about herself. Wrap. She snapped her jaws, and flicked out her tongue. Bite and Lick. And then she lifted herself high, wiggling her body while giving off red energy. Swagger.
Sadly, Sheldon was the most useless of all and just simply splashed about. That wasn't going to be very helpful.
Harmony toddler his way forward to present himself, making a very high pitched squeak of a sound. Growl, though was almost too cute to be threatening. Batting his eyes as he waggled a hand and gave off some hearts. Charm. Then he smacked the ground! actually leaving a sizable dent. Pound.
Decibel ran forward to be next, tackling into Levy's legs. And then she waggled her tail for a tail Whip. That just left Tacet, who hopefully give them a bit more to work with.
The fish smacked his fins against the water that his pokeball gave him. Another pound. Then he shot off a fountain of water from his bubble which left puddles on the ground. Water sport? At least that was something. A dash forward with his water rippling about him. An aqua jet? And lastly, he formed a ring of water around himself, separate from the bubble his ball gave him. Aqua ring.
So admittedly, she hadn't given herself much to work with.
Yeah, this crew would take some creativity to work with, though Levy supposed it was somewhat easier not having to worry about the Magikarp who could literally do nothing but flop and splash about. Still Levy looked for a slightly different area, hoping to find a pond while her team dutifully followed after her. Even Sheldon as he swam in short bursts while still encased in his bubble of water. Thankfully finding one wasn't too hard in this diverse area. It was still small, likely not housing much in the way of anything too big which honestly worked for her and the tiny magikarp.
"Hre ya go Sheldon, a nice little pond for you. I got something very important I want you to do for me." Levy kneeled down as the low floating fish came forward. Something important!? That only he could do? "I want you to splash, and swim, and jump. All over the place. It's very important that you practice it all, and make it look as good as you can. Okay?" Levy smiled, tilting her head at the fish.
While it couldn't really be seen, the fish was actually quite delighted! He eyes went as wide as they could go, his fins fluttering before he was hurrying into the proper water and swimming about with vigor! Well, that would definitely keep him occupied for awhile! And hopefully do him some good. If he could at least learn tackle that would be great.
Now she just had to figure out what to do with the others.
"Alright. Harmony, Decibel? How about you too just play for a bit while we figure things out? Just don't run off too far." There was some very delighted squeals as the two youngest ran off and immediately started chasing each other in play.
So that left Zei, Ophi and Tacet for now. Levy frowned, a finger tapping her lips as she thought about just what she could do for combinations. She couldn't even consider the theme of the showcase right now. There was too much general training that needed to be done.
"Alright, Zei. We are going to work on your hone claws. Work on getting them as long, and as sharp as they can be." The nicket nodded and Levy turned to the fish. "Tacet, we are going to work on your Water Sport and Aqua Ring. I want you to make as much water as you can, and spread the ring out as far as you can. Deal?" Both human and large pink fish nodded.
Now that just left Ophi. Which Levy had a particular idea for. But she needed some gloves for that first, just to be on the safe side.
"Ophi, I want to see your tail." She coaxed the snake into turning around. Ever since the incident, the Seviper had been extra careful with both fangs and tail lest she accidentally poison her trainer. Not again at least. Though Levy was prepared this time, and could come up with an antidote quick enough.
"It's alright. I'm protected this time." Levy pet down the tail, away from the blade to ease the worried snake. At least as much as the snake could be eased. "You, my darling Ophi, will be learning a move today." Levy encouraged, patting the blade of the Seviper's tail with her protected hands. "But, in order to do so, you'll need to learn how to move this tail of yours. Show me how much you can move it." Levy then backed away.
She was hoping for some serious swing, but it was pretty clear that Ophi wasn't used to her tail being used as a weapon as the limb only swayed a little. Though it swayed a bit more when Ophi glowered at it.
"It's alright, that's why I'm helping you. You don't know what the motions feel like, so I'm going to guide your tail in the motions. Then once you get a feel for them you can try." Levy smiled encouragingly, shifting so that she was straddling the length of the snake Pokemon, her body behind the blade and out of harm's way while Ophi looked around her trainer to watch. With one hand at the top of the blade, the other at the base while Levy guided it through the motions of a simple slash through the air. Ophi watched, tensing a little to feel the muscles.
The her tail jerked from Levy's grasp, the entire lower half of her body getting into the motions of the slash. "That's it! Now, focus on it, feel the energy within, and push it to your tail."
Now this was harder, Ophi glaring at the offending limb that wasn't listening. Then it began to flicker until the limb was beginning to be covered in a purple glow. "Now slash!"
Ophi gave it a good downwards swing, leaving a sizable dent in the ground which the two admired for a moment.
"Good job! Now keep working on it!" Levy kept encouraging until she deemed it time to check on the others.

(Not a participant! Just a guest)
In a way, it was terrifying seeing Levy so close to the Seviper's venom-tipped tail. In another way? It was absolutely heartwarming seeing her fawn over the serpent. The poor thing hadn't meant to hurt Levy like that, after all! And with how beautifully she spoke of the Seviper, Elliot knew it was time for him to let go as well. He released his white-knuckled grip on his walking stick, shooting the Seviper and his trainer alike a warm, gentle smile.
Yet it wasn't to get over his own fear that Elliot was here. No, today he was here to support Levy. It was almost time for her first showcase, and the girl was going beyond the extra mile to get prepared for it. Elliot's real role today was to be her backup and support as she handled training her Pokemon into tip-top shape. Apparently, that included the hand on approach. He couldn't help but giggle as Levy laid against the snake and chopped her hand through the air, like some kind of horizontal martial artist. No giggling for long, though! It was an unorthodox technique, but the brilliantly-executed Poison Tail was proof that it was a successful one. Right on cue, Elliot started to clap. "Excellent work, Lev!" Elliot cheered, whistling a little as he saw the dent that Ophi left behind. "And that was some serious power you're packing, Ophi. I'm impressed!"
Of course, that was just one Pokemon. Even with the younglings distracted and the Magikarp doing what he did best, there were still two others that Levy would be coming up with training routines for. In addition to move practice, they'd also be working on structural work for their Showcase routine. Pretty much anything could happen today, and Elliot was at the edge of his seat waiting to see what Levy would do next. "I swear. Seeing you get down to business like this is getting me even more excited for the big show. I seriously need to buy my ticket soon . . ." he commented.
Ophi's tongue flicked out, head tilting upwards at the praise. Serious power alright! And that was just the first bit of practice. The glow of her tail continued to flicker, rippling and moving over the blade but not quite forming fully. However that didn't stop the very determined snake from swinging her tail around and better practicing the movements. She was still very aware of her surroundings, stopping the movements when the little ones ran too close. Ophi gave them a head tilt, only for both Togepi and Dedenne to return the gesture. Nope, that was very unsafe for them! Ophi gave her head a little shake and butted her head against the pair, sending them off so the game could begin anew.
Now her tail could swing more freely. And with each swing the energy grew, covering up more and more of her tail until there was sort of a pop. Blade entirely purple now, and glowing more vibrantly than before. Another swing at the ground left an even bigger dent! Perfect! The Seviper hissed in pleasure!
And of course Levy clapped at the progress. Awesome job Ophi!" The bluenette cheered. It was sort of a shame that Ophi wasn't so far going to be a part of her Showcase performance. But with what Levy had in mind, Ophi just wouldn't fit too well. Neither would Sheldon, and she still wasn't sure if she would be able to find a spot for Zei. As much as she wished that her first partner could be in it.
"Thanks Eli!" Levy smiled, also taking in the amount of damage Ophi was able to create now. It would definitely be helpful on her next day out on a route. "I'm honestly surprised that worked as well as it did." Levy couldn't help but giggle. It probably had looked odd she thought as she took off her gloves and tossed them back towards her bag. There was a lot she wanted to do, and she wasn't totally sure where to start. Alright, if she was going to focus on Tacet, Harmony and Decibel she needed to establish their roles in the performance.
And Elliot cheering her on was both encouraging her, and making her that much more nervous. Levy wanted to do well, who wouldn't? But there was just so much that needed to get ready. "I'm honestly as nervous as I am excited. It's all a bit overwhelming. I'm pretty sure the other girls will be participating as well, so I don't want to take time away from their own practice. But at the same time, we've always done practice together and I feel a bit lost and unsure where to start." Levy frowned, using her fingers to comb her hair into a ponytail and tying it into place with an elastic she had on her wrist.
Just where did she begin? Her lips pursing as she tightened the ponytail so it would stay up properly. As if the fish had understood the silent plea for guidance, there was a loud splash as Sheldon flopped down onto the water and giving a very impressive leap (for a small fish at least) before he hit the water.
"Looking good Sheldon!" Levy called, giving the fish a thumbs up. Not that he really heard her at first, though he continued jumping as gracefully as a magikarp (which wasn't really, but don't tell him that). Now onto Tacet, the larger fish looking quite tired now, and the grass around him a very watery, almost muddy mess. And the ring of water had grown as time went on to being almost twice it's original size.
"That's good enough Tacet, thank you. How about you get some rest?" Levy gave the quietest Pokemon a gentle pet. And the young woman wasn't overly upset when the new member didn't lean into the contact but instead leaned away to float to the pond for a rest. Even with the very energetic magikarp stil splashing about. Now how was Zei doing?
"Oh no." Levy sighed, shaking her head at the situation her poor Nickit was in. The energy from multiple Hone Claws had built up as expected. But now Zei could barely walk with how large they had become, each paw had to be lifted extra high to allow the extra length the clearance it needed without cutting up the ground too much or otherwise tripping the fox. "Well, it will fade with time, so just relax Zei and I'll work with the little ones." Levy actually felt a little bad about putting Zei in this position, even though she hadn't expected for it to go this far.
So, with sheldon and Ophi doing their own training, and Tacet and Zei needing a break. That left the only two members of her team that she wasn't sure how to train. That and they were having such fun toddling about and chasing each other.
"Oh dear." Levy sighed again. "Just what will I do with you two?" She asked herself, more so because with what she had thought of, these two would be the brute of the performance. Tacet would act as effects, but it was these two who would be the ones in stage with her.

It came to her quite suddenly, the bluenette actually feeling like quite a ditz that she hadn't thought of it earlier! A Showcase was all about dancing and singing with your Pokemon, and yes it was meant to incorporate Pokemon moves, but they also could dance too rather than just be effects! She clapped suddenly, the sound sharper than intended. "Decibel, Harmony! You two are up!" Levy called out, probably louder than she intended as well, but didn't totally care. They needed to start now so that they could be ready for the Showcase.
And Levy needed to teach dance and music theory first. Or at least enough for the babies to understand what they needed to do. Then they would have to get coordinated. One couldn't dance if they had no coordination!
"Mind helping me with something Elliot? It'll be quick and fun, I promise." Levy smiled, kneeling down to sit as the young Pokemon toddled over. "Sit down everyone. We'll be doing a little test by playing a game. Harmony in front of me, Decibel in front of Elliot." Levy instructed gently, waiting for them to sit.
"Now, we are going to play a game called 'pat a cake'." Levy started, smiling at Elliot. "First, you clap your hands, then clap them with your partner, then we'll pat our laps and roll our hands. It goes with a song." She instructed, smiling the whole while. This was so silly, but it would work!
"Here we go. Patty cake, patty cake..." She sung slowly, alternating between clapping her hands, and holding one out for Harmony to high five. She kept it slow to make sure she could see Harmony doing it properly. "baker's man. Bake me a cake as fast as you can. You roll it..." Levy demonstrated, taking her fists and circling them around each other. "And pat it..." She patted her lap. "And mark it with a P." She just drew a little P in the air. "And put it in the oven for my Pokemon and me. Yay!" She cheered, bursting out into a fit of giggles at just how silly that was.

"Ah c'mon, you're Levy! You always have such fun, creative streams. And you put on some great performances, too," Elliot said. While Levy seemed to have her doubts, Elliot was all smiles here. "You've been talking about wanting to do this since the showcase was announced. And I'm going to be right there, rooting for you, no matter what! So no matter how nervous you get, just know that your number one fan and little bro always believes in you, okay?
I know training can be hard sometimes, so maybe try and follow your Pokemon's lead? See what they naturally gravitate towards, and then think how you could put your own Lev-tastic spin on it." He couldn't help but giggle a little at Zei's claw predicament. Oh no! He didn't even know that could happen to a Pokemon! "Try focusing more on sharp, not so much on long," he warned, shooting the poor thing a sympathetic smile.
More giggles followed as he played patty cake with Decibel. The Dedenne looks so happy and cute! "You really raised her well," Elliot said as the game continued, following Levy's motions to the letter. "I'm so glad I trusted you with the egg. Can't think of a better home for little Deci here." As the game finished he giggled some more, his smile ear-to-ear at Levy's dorky enthusiasm. "See? Bring that kind of earnestness and enthusiasm to the stage, and I know you're going to do great. The most important thing about this Showcase is that it's truly, completely, and entirely You."
Levy couldn't help it, a blush tinting her cheeks. How long had it been since someone supported her like this? Well, the girls of PNG always did as they all worked together, but it was still different when she was working on her own versus as the group. "Yeah," She admitted with a soft sigh. She had been looking forward to this ever since she had first heard the rumors about it, thinking she could show her growth as a person and that she could perform without the crutch that was her best friends or Zei.
But she was still worried. What if she let her friends down and performed badly? And what if because of that they didn't want her in PNG anymore? Granted, they were her best friends for a reason. And Elliot, oh Arceus, Elliot was her biggest fan (or least one of them, but the only one she had met), the most active in her chat streams even though he had been living with her for awhile now. Levy still sighed again, feeling tears threaten at her eyes. Happy tears of course! Elliot really was an awesome little brother. "Thank you Eli." Levy said, pulling him into a hug. She really needed that.
And that might be a good idea, but how would she get that to work with what she needed? She pouted in thought, fingers grabbing a lock of hair and twirling it. Okay, so the babies wanted to play, and could handle simple instructions. And she needed to teach them how to dance....
Then it hit! Follow the leader! Make each little thing into a game. The little ones would surely listen if it was a game!
And the game of pat a cake went well. Even Elliot was laughing and Harmony and Decibel were happy. "I've tried my best. But I think having Harmony with her has really helped as the two have always been together." Levy admitted, looking at the two fondly. And while Levy was very happy to have Decibel with her, she had wondered perhaps if there had been a better home out there for her? And it was really hard to say yes or no. There was no real singular way to raise a Pokemon. But so far Levy felt like she had done a good job. "I'm happy she's with me too. She's a real sweetheart."
Bring that kind of eagerness and enthusiasm to the stage? Well, that was going to be hard, that was for certain. There was still a theme she had to work with, and the little ones probably wouldn't remember a full routine yet so a lot of it would be copying her. Which was both a good thing and a bad thing. Dancing was all about movement, but in a group if the movements were all the same it got boring. And she was somewhat counting on the little ones to break that up with their moves. Well, they'd have to give it a sho5 anyway. "Well, I'll try. But it's probably not going to be perfect. But my best will be good enough. So, time for another game! This time, it's called follow the leader, and it's easy. You just got to do what I do ok?" Levy explained to the little pokemon who nodded.
"First, we're going to walk in the shape of a box. One step forward, one step to the left, one step back, one step to the right." She started before doing as she said, leading the two babies in a simple two step dance. "Now swing your arms, first to the right, then the left. There ya go!" She cheered, smiling as the two Pokemon with much smaller limbs were able to keep up and wave their little arms. Too cute!
