The flying-types of Schera and Mithril cleared away enough of the foliage that Flit was visible, though still quite camouflaged due to his dark green exoskeleton. As Agate pulled out a couple of larger limbs off Flit, she saw the extent of the Yanmega's wounds. Most of them appeared to be from a Power Gem attack - no doubt the Grumpig's doing. She closely examined the unconscious Yanmega, and felt a surprising amount of heat from around where his wings were - unsurprising, given how much energy it took to move them. Their tips moved faster than a tornado's winds, after all!
The worst of the wounds was around the front of his abdomen - the wound from the Power Gem had pierced quite deep. Administering Revive, followed by two doses of Potion, would at least bring the brave Yanmega back to consciousness. The rattling of wings against a larger branch still floating on top of him made Shalin smile that her ace Pokémon was still okay. She caught a glimpse of a Voltorb headed her direction at high speed, Queen Zing chasing it away from where she was tending to Flit.
"Thank you so much," the blonde said to Agate. "You're a life saver. Normally I could use Flit to blow something like this away, but when he's the one who gets hurt..." She recalled the Yanmega and scurried back aboard her Beedrill, the yellow insect bobbing a bit more than normal to try to make Shalin laugh. A continued giggle from her trainer was a sign of success as the explorers continued westward.

"That's alright," Agate replied "but it's a bit too fast to celebrate. We're not out yet..."
...Yes, not out yet. The moment another ghost type appeared, Agate just... dropped to his knee. Anat facepalmed. Oh Lord, why must ghost types favor him? Has there been something that makes him so desirable for all these ghost types, seriously!? But this is not the time. Durandal pointed at a sight of another Pokemon. But that one is thankfully just a shy one that seem not in mood for fighting. The one in front of them though... is most likely a trouble... Agate gritted his teeth.
"...Fang, can you deal with that one? I really can't order you, I'm sorry... just... just get it as far as possible from me... um..."
Anat meanwhile shook her head. Eh, what? "Anat?"
She barked while offering a Pokeball. Eh!? Capture it? She signed that even if it's defeated, it's going to chase him again in the future if he did not at least catch it or use the Pokeball as a distraction. The Lucario then nodded at Fang. The Luxray roared before jumping to the fore. A naughty one that wanted to disturb her trainer huh... Nope, not today, mister... er, Miss, apparently. Anat goes to Flit, healing him with Life Dew just in case.
Fang meanwhile tangled with the Arcielan Stantler. She Bites at it. The attack hits and it was super effective, but it also made her hit by Stomp from it! Fang reeled in pain from the sudden attack, but immediately followed with another Bite. it hits--but her opponent somehow vanished-- Crap. The Luxray, not sure what to do, was left puzzled... and it was then that the Stantler appeared again to attack! That hits her strongly. Fang yowled in pain before zapping the Stantler with a Spark! In turn, Agate tossed an Ultra Ball at it, hoping to capture it... and hoping that it will not disturb him. They were not out of the woods yet - not by a long shot. Shalin had traveled these woods several times, and had a good idea exactly how far west they were. While the two were getting close to the west side of the mountain, there was still quite a ways to go. Jasper would speed things up a lot, which would let Shalin and Queen Zing let loose again. When Agate stopped to battle a wild Pokémon, the two landed, letting the Beedrill rest her wings for a bit. While they were fast, they weren't good at flying long distance, and needed to stop and rest every so often. Except for that one queen Beedrill - the big one from the Golden Tree. She was so fast she could fly just about anywhere in Arciel without stopping. It would be a moment she would never forget.
The Stantler she watched Agate's Pokémon brawling with was unsettling to look at. The translucent body made it look like a ghost-type, and those empty eye sockets were nothing less than chilling to behold. No wonder Agate was so scared! The two wandered south, off the path and into dense woods, Queen Zing having to climb around some trees before making it around the battleground. On its other side, Shalin caught a glimpse of something bright in her peripharal vision - an Exeggutor glowing bright as the sun! She had never seen anything like this before. While she wasn't one to keep this type of Pokémon normally, such a rarity would certainly be appreciated by Professor Elm back home. She procured a Quick Ball from her stash of spare Balls, pitching it like a baseball toward the gleaming wild before it could get away.

Mmmm would you look at that, a Geodude and a Hitmonchan. The two of them looked at Agate and the rest of his party before going back to their usual bantering. The Geodude seem to be scolding the Hitmonchan about something, but... this is not his business for the meantime. He decided to thank these two because he really don't have any time. As good looking as Alolan Golem is, he prefer to not waste more time than enough.
"Sorry, but I think we should haste more. The destruction of those trees are heading toward these way. I just hope they're not Ultra Beasts, although seeing Arcielan Noctowl is kind of quite an event also. Aren't they meant to be in colder area? I wonder if they're here because there are some shift in the air..."
At times like this, Agate seriously wished he took Aura Tracking, but according to Anat, he's bad at it... hopelessly so. There are thing that an aura master can master, and there are things that they're bad at. Noticing shift in aura is something that he's bad with, and tracking aura is another that he's bad in too. So his only way to find up what's wrong is to probably doing it manually.
For the meantime he'll trust Jasper. Party: Jasper the Arcanine (Lv 32) (3/5) Anat the Lucario (lv 27) (3/5) Fang the Luxray (lv 30) (31) (2/5) Schera the Skarmory (lv 20) (4/5) Durandal the Honedge (lv 24) (2/5) Mithril the Arcielan Noctowl (Lv 33) (4/5)

"I agree with you," Shalin replied to Agate's comment to pick up the pace. "Come on, girl, let's pick up the pace!" Leaning a bit lower into her Beedrill's harness, the two kept pace with Jasper and Agate. "You do have a point...that Noctowl looked like an ice-type. Perhaps it was hibernating and whatever came through here woke it up?" It seemed like Jasper and Agate were both incredibly focused on getting to the bottom of this mystery. To Shalin, the tree damage looked like something a psychic-type would cause. But what psychic-type that powerful was native to the woods?
Further down the road was a young, black-dressed girl, a threatening-looking Plusle...well, as threatening as a cute Pokémon like that could look. "Agate, we don't have time to deal with this one." She pulled back on Queen Zing's reins and shifted her body weight down, descending to just a few feet off the forest floor. The blonde rode at an awkward angle as her Beedrill mount outstretched her deadly lower barb, pointing it right at the center of the other blonde's chest. "Leave!" Shalin shouted. The girl stood her ground...until Queen Zing hovered lower and closer, all three of her stings less than a foot from the ruffian's leg. That was enough of a threat for her to turn tail and let the two trainers pass. "Arceus, the nerve of these people!" she shouted the louder, easily audible even through the Beedrill's buzzing.

"But in a forest so close to a volcanic area?" Agate asked. "That sounded a bit too strange for me... and I had no idea that they goes on hibernation on summer either. Sounded like they would instead goes to the unexplored north instead you know? Then again I wonder if Hoothoot and Noctowls are migratory birds? I guess not, but still..."
He once again stumped by the sudden situation like this. "If I can guess, the aura from before is what caused the Noctowl to come to investigate... The damage that happened around here, we have no idea what the sources are... I only can think it as an impact, then whatever impacting decides to uproot a tree or something... Whatever it is, this felt like a chaos incarnate..."
Agate looked at Mithril's Pokeball again. "...Oh wait! If my phone have Pokedex, then most likely... I can see what's up with it! It should have been registered in my Pokedex!"
Upon checking... there's nothing that seem to indicate any sort of clues as of why the Noctowl is here... "Alright then," Agate muttered, slightly disappointed.
...Speaking of which, Shalin managed to chase away the delinquent, and on the place where they were standing Agate saw a great ball. Well, his now!
"Let's just continue our journey," Agate suggested. Jasper the Arcanine (Lv 32) (3/5) Anat the Lucario (lv 27) (3/5) Fang the Luxray (lv 30) (31) (2/5) Schera the Skarmory (lv 20) (4/5) Durandal the Honedge (lv 24) (2/5) Mithril the Arcielan Noctowl (Lv 33) (4/5)

Shalin blushed at Agate's rebuttal. "Ahahaha, I had it backwards! Ice-types would come down for the winter, not the summer! Shalin, you silly goose!" She sighed. "This whole Ultra Beast thing has me not thinking straight! Though come to think of it, such a dense forest would probably be the next best place for an Ice-type to hide in the summer. You almost never get direct sunlight here because of how dense it is, except on the plateau..."
Shalin paused for a moment, her eyes catching a Lum tree that had a ripened fruit close to the top. "Hey, girl, can you fly me up there?" The Beedrill lifted off from her hover just above the ground, sending a few twigs flying in her wake. Once the two had reached the top of the tree, the yellow Pokémon gently poked the Lum with one of her white stings, landed again, and let her pick it from the end of the sting. The barbs themselves weren't venomous - it was easy enough for Queen Zing to avoid pumping poison into whatever she stabbed, if her trainer requested it.
"Oh, the plateau! Right!" Shalin perked up. "When we come back, I have to show you the plateau around here! It's my...sanctuary. My romping grounds. It's not far from here, but it's back the other way."

"It will be really damp though," Agate commented. At least it's what he felt! It would feel really disgusting, and sticky, and you know what else. It's going to be probably uncomfortable for Pokemon who likes cold weather... the air is supposed to be dry. But either way probably it's not the best time to do this... He saw a Rhyhorn and decided to just wave at it asking for pass. She was seem eager to battle, but... after noticing the nonhostile gait from the team, she left after nodding.
"Romping ground huh. Mine is like on route 8. It's not that big, but it's enough to currently become some sort of sanctuary for my thirty Pokemons I guess... around thirty, I think. It's... I have lost count, really. But all of them are good boys and girls."
Are they really heading to the right place? He really have no idea... If there is a way to go check on it...
"...I guess I'll try using my aura sight more..." Agate muttered, activating his aura sight.

As Queen Zing rounded a corner after the Rhyhorn tromped away, the Beedrill started flying lower to the ground before eventually landing. "Right, I completely lost track of time!" Her wings were completely still for the first time since she had been sent out in the woods. "Sorry, I didn't realize you had flown for so long. Do you need a rest?" The bug-type nodded, Shalin dismounting and recalling her newest partner, then popping her earplugs out. "Won't be needing these for a bit!" The sound of forest ambiance rushed into her ears, something she hadn't heard for almost the entire trip.
Apparently, Agate had his own place, too, on Route 8! "You should lead the way to it next time we're over there! I do want to go back to the volcano at some point, see how that Larvesta and Combusken are doing!"
The green traveler called on Kiku for relief, who immediately bolted after a Shroomish and tried out one of his new attacks on the wild - instead of spraying his musk in a cone, he let it collect on the top of his tail, then swished the tail toward his foe, tossing a musk bomb at it. The purple sphere exploded right above the grass-type's cap, drenching it in unbearable-smelling musk. Thankfully Agate and Shalin were on the west side of the battle, so they wouldn't need to pass by it! The Shroomish, coughing unceasingly, pointed the top of its cap toward Kiku and shot an explosive seed out of it as a parting blow before collapsing from the poisonous attack, some of the shrapnel getting caught under Kiku's saddle.
Shalin discovered what had happened when the Skuntank let out a cry as she tried to climb aboard. After loosening Kiku's gear and sliding it back, she indeed did see a piece of a Seed Bomb lodged beneath his fur! With careful use of tweezers, she was able to extract the object. She quickly scanned Kiku's back for more places where shrapnel could have ended up before sliding the tack back into place and climbing on. The tip of his tail was still a bit unpleasant-smelling, but it was nowhere near as bad as that unconscious Shroomish.

So far... there are nothing of interest... What caused all of that trees to get uprooted? Where on earth does it ends up in? Agate had no idea, but all he know is he's getting desperate... for finding the cause. Something told him that he won't rest easy without finding it... but at the same time, should he just leave this place? Could it be that he's out of its league? Not sure, but whatever it is, he's not having the biggest fun here...
"What Larvesta and Combusken?" Agate asked. Probably something related to her travel there? A Larvesta and Combusken...? Are they friends or something? Bug Type and Fire Type are sorta rare found together...
......But what he didn't expect is for Shalin to call out a Skuntank. Agate immediately tried his best to gather as much air as possible, but it was too late. The SMELL. THE SMELL OH GOD. Even if they're not in direct way of the wind, Agate sense of smell is quite good--and this is when he seriously regret having it. Jasper is in worse condition, he pretty much heaved and gagged being a canine with strong sense of smell. The Arcanine was too dizzy that Agate pretty much had to switch him over with Fang, who immediately zapped away while holding her breath.
...By the way, as they zapped away, they found a Probopass laying unconscious on the middle of the road, mouth frothing, eyes empty...
...Rest in peace. (wait it's not dead yet!) Talk about sinus clearing though. Just as Shalin was about to answer Agate, she saw he and Jasper--no, Fang--fleeing the scene rapidly. While she was used to a small amount of lingering musk by now, and it didn't even smell that bad to begin with, Agate probably was not...and an enclosed space was not the spot to get used to it. There didn't appear to be any nearby water sources she could clean his tail off at, either. "Sorry buddy..." she apologized to her Skuntank, coaxing him to a stop before dismounting and recalling him once they were far away from the wild Pokémon he had battled.
The girl called on Serena's help, who at first gave her a stare for not being let out of her Poké Ball in a while. "Got a little carried away with the new one - sorry!" she tried to smile at the purring normal-type, but it quickly faded as the purr changed to a growl. The Pokémon pounced Shalin, knocking her over, then started kissing her trainer. The green-dressed girl couldn't help but laugh at first, quickly closing her mouth to prevent ingesting any feline slobber.
After Serena showed affection to her heart's content, Shalin stretched her shirt over her face to try to wipe as much saliva off it as possible before mounting up and chasing after Agate, the strong cat leaping over a Hitmonlee that looked battle-ready but she was not interested in fighting.

There are nothing at the moment... for some reason. ...There's no choice, maybe it's just an Arcielan Noctowl after all. Whatever it is, perhaps it's heading toward the route 7... "I think I'll end my investigation here," Agate told Shalin. "Whatever it is, I think it's no longer here... I think we're clear to move to route 7... Or maybe I should spend some time here... You did said that your secret base is nearby, right, Shalin?" Agate asked. "Do you mind if I stay there for the meantime?"
It sounded better than going off without goal anyway... Fang doesn't seem to be all that pleased with the turn of situation. She wanted to know what caused all that disaster... but well, can't be helped. She stretched and approached Shalin. Whew, the leftover smell still sticking huh... on the second thought, she backed off few steps.
There are also Chimecho that seem to be so much in a hurry... what's going on? Either way, she's not going to fight it or stop it. She's tired, and ready to conk out...
"Heh, looks like my Pokemons are tired too, so i guess if you don't mind..."
Post by Shalin Nariya on Jun 25, 2020 21:56:10 GMT
Shalin shrugged as soon as Agate mentioned he want to stop at her place in the woods. "It's...kind of back the other way..." she slowly answered. "It's not too far, but it's back some. When you see some out of place trees that aren't native to this forest. that's where we'll turn. You'll know what I mean." As she and Serena turned around to start heading back to her domain, Shalin saw Fang approach, then back away. "I thought it wasn't bad at all...do I really still smell of musk?" Then again, she was more used to it...and perhaps the Luxray had a great sense of smell compared to Serena.
The girl and her Normal-type mount led Agate and Fang back a few miles to a spot where six tropical trees were arranged in conspicuous-looking rows. She pointed between the two rows of trees, almost straight north. "It's straight down here, about a quarter mile." Some of the gaps were a bit narrow for the Persian to move between, but the two managed.
At the end of the trail was a particularly tall, hollowed tree that was grown into a steep, earthen hill that extended for some distance west-to-east. At its bottom, there was a screen door. "This is it...my home away from Johto."
