Somebody shouted something at her as she whipped past them--some kind of curse, or maybe a concerned yell--but Senara failed to notice as she went down the cycling road with a probably unsafe amount of speed. Her grin was wide as she went, if not a wee bit manic. Last time she'd been on one of these accursed things it had been in the snow, for the sake of some stupid letter to some random extra. Now, though, it was warm and the sun was setting and everything was aglow in that pretty golden twilight that made the whole world shine. Her long hair was tight back tight enough to keep out of her face as she went barreling down the road. In the basket in front, Baby Girl was actually fast asleep, not seeming to mind the recklessness of her trainer's driving.
Little Lady, her Murkrow, was less enthused or relaxed about the whole thing. Perched in the middle of the handlebars the poor bird let out squawks of panic and protest every time they sailed too close to another rider or made a corner a bit too close. Senara was being too harsh with the bike! And she was driving half-blind! Well, sort of. Living things she could at least perceive with her aura sight, but the tight turns were a little more dangerous than dodging the people was. If only by a little.
It had been ages since Senara had actually gone for a joyride. Sure, this was a bike, not a car, and yes she rode on her Pokemon plenty of times, but she hadn't had the chance to go out and steer herself around. And maybe she didn't care if she crashed a little. She didn't have anything on her at risk of breaking--the only egg on her person was nice and safe inside its incubator, and if anything she wanted to ride it around specifically to hatch it faster! Little Lady would get used to the rush sooner or later. She'd have to, if she was going to survive being Senara's Pokemon.
They passed another person a bit too closely and earned another shout, but Senara just laughed and kept going. Fuck it! This was fun! It had been too long since since she'd done something just for the sake of fun and thrill. Stupid work and drama, eating her life and leaving her no room for wriggling. Screw that. Nothing was bothering her tonight.
WC: 420 (blaze it) @whomever! This is going to go either very well or end in flames

Senara came to a slower roll as the bike path lead over a bit of a hill, but only because momentum wouldn't let her keep at the pace she'd been at. With a little grunt of annoyance she pushed her legs to go as hard as she could--which, alas, was not that much because she wasn't strong at all. Little Lady gave a small caw at her. She could only assume the bird was lecturing her about not keeping up with exercise or whatever, or maybe even about the speed she'd been going at before. Either way Senara stuck her tongue out at the Murkrow. "Je porte un casque! Et vous pouvez voler! Ce n'est pas comme si l'un de nous se blessait." She snipped back, and got another caw in her face. "Pourquoi ne fais-tu pas aussi une sieste, hm? Épargnez mes tympans."
Little Lady huffed, feathers fluffing, and tucked herself into the grate besides Baby Girl, whom she used as a weird sort of ghostly pillow. Baby Girl didn't even stir.
At the top of the hill, Senara put down her kick stand, and pulled a bottle of water from her side-pack to take a sip. At the same time another bike, coming the other direction, began to push their own way up the hill. They were a young woman, probably no older than Senara herself, and on her back was a very small and very weird Lickilicky. Senara fell into staring at it as they approached. Some Pokemon she wondered if Arceus just kind of went "Yeah, sure" and threw things together. Lickilicky was one of them.
Lickitung was already one of those "Oh Arceus Why" Pokemon. Did it really need to evolve into something even weirder? That it was bright pink was it's only saving grace.
The girl got to the top of the hill, and caught Senara staring at her abomination, but must have misread the look on her face for something less filled of contempt. "Oh hi!" She greeted with a chipper, cheerful smile. Senara's eye snapped to her instead. "Did you want to battle? You're looking at Slobber so intently! Isn't she lovely?"
"Slobber"? Man, what is wrong with some people?
Still, the girl looked pretty well-off, from her cute, fashionable clothes and absolutely designer biking jacket. Senara grinned back to hide the greedy little gleam in her eye. "Sure!~ That sounds like fun!~ Petite fille," she nudged the sleeping Sableye, "Vous voulez sortir un affront à nos sens avec moi?"
Baby Girl grumbled and lifted her head enough to see...a bunch of black feathers. She had to push Little Lady off of her chest--she let out another indignant squawk--to actually see the other trainer and her Pokemon. Emerald green eyes took in the look on its face.
<What the hell is wrong with their face.>
Little Lady sniffed. <That's just their face. Does it matter? Be fast so we can go.>
A wide, sharp grin split over Baby Girl's face as she stood up in the basket and nodded. Senara's own smile got a little sharper itself, which the other trainer missed. "Parfait! Let's make a little space between us then." Both blondes stepped off their bikes and pulled them to the sides of the road, giving plenty of room for their Pokemon to battle. A Normal-type Pokemon fighting a ghost was more than a little unfair, and could have been impossible if neither side knew moves that could actually hurt the other. But lucky for Senara--or rather because of her--Baby Girl was perfectly suited for fights like this.

"Allons-y, petite fille! Commençons par un bluff!"
As quickly as Baby Girl had jumped from the basket to the biking road, no sooner had she lunged towards the Lickilicky, claws stretched behind her like she was going to strike. The little abomination braced itself for a hit, but before it could come, Baby Girl instead snapped her paws together right in her face, stunning the weird little creature on the spot. The other trainer winced. "Slobber, return it with--Slobber?" Alas, the Lickilicky was too spooked, and had flinched. Senara smirked a little.
Perhaps using that move was a bit cheeky, but it was the perfect opener. Literally, as it had no effect after the first strike. "Avant de récupérer, utilisez le sabotage!" She called out the next attack. Baby Girl, still quite close range, jerked her body upwards, smacking her paw down over the Lickilicky's head. It whined and took a quick wobble back, and its trainer looked increasingly distraught. Had she thought a Sableye would only have Ghost moves? Or maybe she just underestimated such a simple Pokemon.
Alas, she was not the only one to underestimate the opponent. "Use Power Whip!!"
Wh--shit, that's not a Normal-type move!
The Lickilicky's tongue glowed a weird green color, like when a Grass-type Pokemon was charging an attack of their own, and swiped it in Baby Girl's direction. It hit her in the chest and sent her backwards a decent amount of space, landing on her back. Senara winced, hands holding tight at her sides. Okay. One grass move wasn't the worst thing. Lickilicky's signature moves were still Normal-type and Ghost-type, so those weren't very strong on her. Lickilicky didn't learn any Fairy-type moves, did it?...did it??
"Se relever, se relever," she spoke somewhere between a cheer and a huff, "Utilisez l'attaque feinte! Frappez avec tout ce que vous avez!"
Baby Girl flipped back onto her feet, just in time for the other trainer to shout: "Lick them, Slobber!" The Lickilicky drew it's tongue back like an arm ready to slap, but Baby Girl was faster than them. She ducked under the oncoming tongue and swiped a pair of elongated black claws across the Lickilicky's torso. The weird little thing tumbled back, thoroughly exhausted. The trainer let out a worried squeal and ducked down to scoop them off of the bike path. "Ohh, my poor Slobber! Let's get you to a center...!"
"Ahem?" Senara cleared her throat, still with a fake grin on her face. She felt kind of good about beating the weird little creature. "I won, didn't I? Don't I get--?"
"Oh...r-right..." The girl moved to place her Lickilicky into the basket of her bike, then returned to give Senara her winnings, looking sour all the while. "...here. Have a good rest of your travels, ma'am."
Ma'am? Do I look that old to you? Senara bit back the less than friendly response. "You as well! Bye bye, Slobber!" And good fucking riddance, Arceus' mistake in this universe. The other girl got onto her bike and rode away, and Senara tucked her winnings into her bag while Baby Girl climbed up into the bike basket. "Retrouvez votre santé, petite fille. Tu as vraiment bien fait~" Senara coo'd over her precious Pokemon. Little Lady pecked at the top of Baby Girl's head as she settled in, pushing her aside.
<Hey, don't squish me!>
<This was my spot first. I just got up. Move.>
<But you got up! So I have it now!>
<I'll bite your feathery butt if you don't move.>
<You wouldn't dare!>
Senara snickered at their squabbling, even if she didn't understand it completely, and kicked up the kickstand and rolled on down the path once again.
For as warm as it was.... as you cycle you start to get... colder.... Goosebumps perhaps are a better term for what you're feeling (even if you are shivery too). As you look around, you notice other cyclists... aren't around. When did you become mostly alone out here with your Pokemon? Did someone sense something you didn't?

The amount of bikers became fewer and fewer, until Senara was the only one going down the path at this moment. Well, that was fine. She never liked a lot of people around anyway, and it gave her more room to ride around as recklessly as she pleased without the risk of smacking into somebody. That said...it was getting colder, and she should probably focus on speed over fun, so she could get to--
Wait, cold? It was the beginning of summer. And the sun hadn't even set yet.
Senara didn't stop peddling but she did slow down enough to look around without taking any sharp, sudden turns. Something felt off. It shouldn't be getting this cold, and she shouldn't be so alone on this road. This was the time most people were usually heading home--so where was everybody? What was going on? Senara swallowed a lump that started forming in her throat. Was this a ghost playing a trick on her, like that time in the woods? If so then Baby Girl and Little Lady would be able to see through it, right...?
"Chérie, t-tu vois quelque chose?" Her voice came out shaky from the chill up her spine, but still she kept peddling. Something told her not to stop right now. A feeling in her gut.
Baby Girl and Little Lady had ceased their bickering and were looking too and fro on opposite sides of the bike, looking as confused as their trainer. If it was something messing with them then two Dark-type Pokemon should be able to cut through it, right?
Unfortunately neither Pokemon seem to pick up on anything immediately aside from a strange foreign sort of feeling. The chill in the air only continued dropping that much further.... but occasionally there are still warm patches here and there. You feel an internal tug to go towards them, but will you?
Baby Girl and Little Lady looked back up at their trainer, offering a shrug and a shake of the head respectively. Senara kept peddling. If it wasn't a ghost toying with them, then was it an Ice-type Pokemon causing some sort of cold front? She should get out of this spot fast, whatever the case. The sooner she got to the city and other people, the better. And this was probably the only time Senara would ever feel that way.
The temperature was just going down the farther she went though, and she was in no way dressed for that kind of cold. When Senara felt a break in the chill in a stray warm wind, her first thought was to go through it. She was in a tiny summer t-shirt and shorts; if she kept riding through this weather--made even worse the faster she went--she'd wind up with a cold before she even made it to Maple Town. Everything about this was off, though, and she wasn't sure if this wasn't part of the problem, whatever it was.
Senara decided to risk something. As she rode past a pocket of warm air, she extended her left hand to test the temperature, if only with the tips of her fingers. It was just air, or at least looked like it--if it wasn't, well...at least it wasn't her dominate hand she was using to test this theory.
The heat seems to radiate and then immediately evaporate... As you move, you feel it again... and slowly as you cycle on following it, you find... a backpack? lying awkwardly on the ground as if dropped by someone or something. As you look up and around, you don't see what could have dropped it, though... will you check what's inside?
Alright, it didn't burn her to be where it was warm--that had been a bit of a paranoid thought anyway--but it wasn't sticking around either. Senara peddled faster to try to keep up with the warmth. Baby Girl and Little Lady huddled closer together, and she hoped that the incubator would be doing its job and keeping that egg from getting too cold, but something about it felt worse than normal cold. But maybe that was just because she was dressed for summer, not fall.
Spotting something on the road she slowed to a rolling halt. Had somebody dropped their bag? Or been teleported away, evaporated. Senara put down her kickstand (nobody was coming who might have told her off for not being on a bike on the bike path, so fuck it) and approached the backpack with a little more caution than she might normally approach free loot. Even with her eyes scanning for more than just visible people, she wasn't seeing anything out of the ordinary. Just Little Lady giving off her slight blue shimmer and Baby Girl...not doing anything because she was a ghost.
Senara knelt next to the bag and opened it up. If there was anything valuable, she may as well. And if there were Pokemon or something then she could bring them to the rangers. It wasn't like she hadn't done that before. But. Ugh. She didn't want to build up a reputation with rangers in any way--it would mean they could know her face.
You find that the bag is severely damaged.. as if perhaps something had grabbed at it and shredded it open. The flap comes loose and you find what a slew of random camping items about. Either the owner was very careless, or someone or something had recently gone through it and discarded it all back in. You find a wallet... will you investigate?
