After some promising results from his first aquatic race, which was his temporary escape from reality, Josh knew he had to get back to work on raising his team to be able to defend against Ultra Beast attacks. After all, he was one of Arciel's Pokémon Trainers - the first line of defense in crises like this. If he ran into one now, though, his team would get demolished. With Resheph having recently evolved, there was only one answer for her to get strong enough to take them on, and it was in the Dragon's Den. One of the most dangerous places in Arciel, it was...but he had to brave such danger to prepare himself for an even bigger danger that threatened the entire region he was becoming increasingly invested in.
Even getting there was going to be a big challenge: this trek through the valley plains of south Arciel would be the easy part. After that, he would have to travel through a cave complex, followed by some of the most rugged terrain east of the mountains to be able to reach the entrance to the fabled Den. Once he actually reached the Den, it was going to get even tougher to travel. He sighed deeply, knowing how far he had to travel. "Alright Blinky, gonna give you one last once-over before we head down there," he assured the Jolteon that stood almost as tall as he did. Good thing he had checked - indeed, several straps on her harness were a bit loose. He tightened them back up, firmly but not uncomfortably, then hopped back on. "Perfect. Alright, Blinky--"
The white skies turned grey rather quickly around Birch's south gate, sprinkles turning into a moderate rain. Blinky's fur started to droop from all the rain water getting caught in it. Josh nudged to one side of her, turning her around, the two taking cover under the gate as the rain became heavy. "We should probably wait for this to pass. Good thing I brought my helmet," he said, dismounting Blinky and procuring his helmet from his traveling gear. Josh donned the helmet, leaving the visor up so he could see a little bit better. "Hopefully this dies down soon," he remarked aloud, startled when Blinky started trying to shake her fur dry. "Whoa!"
