When Lynnette saw the job up on the Groomer's recruitment board, she'd shrugged, mouthed a quick 'what could go wrong?' and taken the flyer for herself.
Bass City was known for its music. It was known for its art. It was known for being big and it was known for being a water type specialty. Gyarados was a Pokemon only known for being two of those things.
She supposed, Lynn thought, looking up and down at the Goliath of a monster that was currently resting in the bay that maybe somewhere out there, there was an artistic, music loving Gyarados. A Gyarados that just instead of destroying Pokemon and buildings with hydro pumps, preferred jamming out to a good tune.
Lynnette whistled appreciatively as the Gyarados shifted in the ocean and rivulets of water came streaming down its sides. She turned to her team of trusty Pokemon, each of them armed with scrubbers and buckets of Pokemon friendly soapy water. Even Alpha, who was using her Psychic to hold her things.
Hell, there was even an egg along for the ride. Moral support, Lynn convinced herself and her team. Eggs made everyone feel happier.
"All right guys, are you ready for this?"
Coincidentally, Lynnette was in a swimsuit. She wasn't on a beach, though. Not technically. She was actually on a concrete wharf. It was inevitable that in taking on this job, she was going to get wet. So she'd turned up to the job in a swimsuit.
That'd been... interesting.
Now she just had to coax the Gyarados out of the water and onto the wharf so that she could actually try and wash the thing. Apparently its name was 'Bubbles', which Lynn didn't think was the most suitable name for a gigantic sea monster, but she was willing to roll with it.
She spared a glance towards his owner and one of the groomers, who were currently waiting in the lobby in the nearby building. The glass was wide and tall, allowing her to sneak a peek at whether they were watching or not. Thankfully, that wasn't the case.
"Hello Bubbles," she started, trying to be as welcoming and smiling towards a gigantic fish as she could. Bubbles turned his huge head towards Lynn and he grumbled deeply. Still, Lynnette continued smiling and acted as if Bubbles was no different from any of her own Pokemon.
"We're here to wash you for your trainer and get you squeaky clean for the groomers. So... could you come out onto land for us so we can get started? It would be a huge help for everyone!"
