With the call of a horn, the ferry was off - departing from Bass, to make its way north through Route 5. The noon sun's rays beat down on the ship, warm with the summer that arrived as strong as ever; but any excess heat was cooled off by the ocean breeze, and the occasional fluffy cloud that'd eclipse the sun above. All in all, it was a nice summer day to be sailing; the handful of passengers on the ferry simply enjoying the sights that'd drift past in the waters, typically the local wild pokemon.
Andrew, though, would be sitting away from the crowds of people; hanging towards the back of the ferry, with his assembled pokemon. It was quieter here, even with the sound of the engine - and it was all around calmer, too. Sitting crisscross on the deck, Andrew would peer out into the ocean; admiring the way that the light glistened off of the surface of the water, and the occasional glimpse of a pokemon he could spot. The hood to his hoodie would be pulled up - protecting his sensitive skin from the sunlight - and the photochromic lens on his glasses would be darkened, to protect his sensitive eyes as well.
Andrew wouldn't be completely alone, however; his pokemon all milling about on the deck of the ship. Inari would be sprawled across his lap - the large Vulpix visibly enjoying the sunlight and the scritches that Andrew was giving her, if the gentle and lazy wag of her tails implied anything. Kudzu, too, appeared to be enjoying the sun; coiled up around one of the railings, and idly photosynthesizing. Circuit, the brave little Dedenne that she was, would be perched next to Kudzu on the railing; idly grooming herself and happily bruxxing. Jeanne and Kith, meanwhile, were both tussling; the duo sparring in the background, as Jeanne seemed to be squawking a jolly little marching tune to herself. Flo, meanwhile, would be seated next to Andrew - leaning against him, as he gently pet her head with his opposite hand.
All in all, this was a very nice day - and it was another step on his journey, too. Andrew looked forward to seeing just what all sorts of pokemon this trip might have to offer - even if he wasn't necessarily interested in catching another water type! In fact, maybe to pass the time...
... Quiet still, Andrew would set his bag aside for a second so that he could rummage through it; pulling out what looked to be a little box of sewing supplies. Curious, a few of his pokemon would perk up to see what he was up to - watching as he pulled out some thread, a needle, and some small squares of pink and yellow cloth; beginning to sew something...! What was their trainer doing, they wondered? Only time would tell, it seemed; the young boy being quite engrossed in his work right now, as he snipped the squares in half with a pair of sewing scissors, and began sewing them together in a stripe pattern. The horn for those unprepared may have been startling, but that most certainly was not Adi nor Tri. Though perhaps the smaller and younger Joltiks had not been as prepared. There was tingling against his shoulder and neck as Tio began to spark threateningly with static the white Joltik could not control just yet. But how could he not try when his larger 'sister' was cowering into the collar of the young man's jacket.
"'Ey! It's fine Tio, I'm sorry you got so scared Ani. I promise nothing will hurt you Ani, just some noise. And it's done for now." A finger was carefully lifted to pet down on the yellow and larger Joltik, giving the white one some attention as well to settle them down. They were still newly hatched, and maybe they weren't quite ready for a ferry ride yet, but Adi didn't have much of a choice. The life of an Explorer was always moving, and he didn't really settle down for long. And right now, he needed to make a trip to Ivy town. He needed to know everything he could absorb, and having heard about a potential electric type fossil Pokemon he hadn't heard of before, well his curiosity was sparked.
And maybe, just maybe, he could find some more information on the ultra beasts and which ones had been spotted. He didn't want to do it without Liam as back up, but he wasn't alone. Liam couldn't get mad at him for that right? Only, there was one problem with leaving. Tri didn't really like holding still, and he wouldn't last a ferry ride. Already the pup was wandering off as Adi took in the view.
By the time Adi checked the canine, he was out of view. The blonde cursed and began looking around before actually starting to walk around the boat in the hope of finding his companion.
Said companion was sniffing about, finding various trails of scents and followed them to the back of the ship. It was quieter her, but there was still a trainer with several Pokemon. All Pokemon he didn't remember meeting before. So the huge canine made the brilliant move of yipping to get their attention before trotting up to them and carefully sniffing each Pokemon and person from about a foot away. Besides the two that were... playing? He wanted to play too! His rear raised, front lowering as he waggled what he could of his spiked behind. Did they want to play? He liked to play!
"Tri? Tri!" The calls could be heard as Adi made his way closer and closer,

Working with such small pieces of cloth, Andrew would be taking his work slow and steady, so as to avoid pricking his finger with the needle; using his pincushion to keep the stack of pieces in place, so that they wouldn't flutter away in the wind. One by one, he'd sew together the yellow and pink pieces in an alternating stripe pattern, much to the curiosity of his pokemon watching him. The cloth was soft and fluffy to the touch; sure to keep anyone wrapped up in it nice and warm, which was the purpose.
He was making a little scarf.
And with each piece he sewed together in a criss-cross sort of pattern, Andrew would be using an almost salmon-ish orange thread -a color that you'd expect to see if you were to blend the yellow and orange together - to help it all look nice. Briefly, he'd gesture Circuit over - the Dedenne perking up in realization as she eagerly hopped over, so as to let Andrew briefly hold the scarf up to her neck! "Hmm..."
Looks like he got the length right. Though this was missing something; and he wasn't sure if it would be quite as cozy and warm as he wanted it to be. Maybe... He could double layer the cloth together? Yes, that was an idea! Maybe make it a little bit quilt-like! "Gonna work on this just a little longer, Circuit." Working on adding a second layer to the scarf, he'd even make the layers alternate - layering a pink piece over a yellow piece, and the like.
As Andrew worked though, he'd suddenly hear a yip - prompting the assembled group to perk up a bit, and glance in the direction of the sound, to see what looked to be an Electrike...! Eyebrows raising curiously, Andrew couldn't help but wonder whose pokemon this was - cause it was highly unlikely this was a wild pokemon, unless they were a stowaway - but he was nonetheless more than happy to meet another pokemon. Holding out his hand to let the Electrike sniff it, he'd speak softly and kindly, murmuring "Hello there," in greeting. Inari, too, would offer the Electrike a gentle yip in greeting; her tails slowly swishing in a friendly but lazy fashion.
The Electrike appeared to be particularly interested in Jeanne and Kith, however; the duo having paused in their little spar, when they saw the pup approach. And as the Electrike offered a playbow and a wag to the duo, Kith would be more than happy to take the electric pup up on it; bouncing forward, and playfully Tackle-ing at him! The zigzagoon seemed to love to roughhouse, from the looks of things - though his wagging tail implied that he meant well, even despite his rougher playstyle. Watching the antics at hand, Andrew couldn't help a light chuckle as he returned to his sewing; although...
... It wouldn't be long, before a voice could be heard, calling a name. Tri... Was that the Electrike's trainer they were hearing? Andrew glanced up from his sewing to look towards where the voice was coming from, before glancing to the Electrike. "Is that your trainer calling?" He questioned, mentioning "You probably should go back to them, before they get worried." Andrew wasn't the most social person, and he wasn't sure if he could deal with someone else during the ferry ride or not, but he certainly wasn't gonna keep a trainer separated from their pokemon! Oh yeah! This was nice! The boy was nice, even holding out a hand that Tri happily sniffed at, front paws dancing with his excitement. He was just so happy right now, and he was meeting new people and Pokemon and there was the chance to play with them! Especially the zigzagoon that was colored differently than he had ever seen before. That didn't change the fact that it was playful apparently, though Tri didn't expect the tackle! There was a surprised yelp, a bit of rolling and kicking, which then turned into growling and play biting. Though the sound held no malic behind it, Tri was playing as much as Kith was.
But the yelp was loud enough that Adi heard an had better idea as to where his canine was. Though, now he was worried that Tri was in trouble. Frowning, the blonde ruffled his hair, two little girls seeing his distressed form came over with their inner tubes.
"You okay mister?" The first twin asked, the other nodding her head as if to confirm this was her question too.
"Sort of, my Pokemon partner ran off, and I think I just heard him yelp. So I'm worried he may have gotten hurt." Adi frowned, looking at the two young girls. They quickly looked to each other, nodded and grabbed Adi's hands. One on each side, and they lead him to the back where Adi could see his Electrike wrestling another Pokemon. Thouh neither seemed to be hurt, and the sounds sounded somewhat playful?
"Uh, my Electrike isn't causing trouble is he?" Adi asked, frowning with an eyebrow raised as if he wasn't sure what to think of this situation.

For all of Kith's bombasticness, it was easy to tell that Tri had the upper hand in the two's little impromptu wrestling match. Not only was Kith still more or less a baby - being nowhere quite as strong as Tri was - but the rambunctious Electrike was much larger than Kith was; about 4 feet tall, compared to Kith being just under a foot tall! Despite the fact that Tri had the advantage in all of this though, Kith didn't back down easily; nipping Tri in response to the play bites, and constantly trying to squirm his way out from under the pup to do light tackles! For as small as the young Zigzagoon was, Kith had lots of tenacity and energy to make up for it!
Andrew couldn't help an amused chuckle as he watched this - "Too cute.." - judging by the wagging tails and playful growls, it was easy to tell that Kith was absolutely estatic to have someone new to play with; and they both seemed to be having lots of fun, too. Inari, too, would idly wag her tails - briefly fidgeting in Andrew's lap, as though she were debating whether to join in the duo's playwrestling.
Circuit, for sure, seemed curious - squeaking and chittering as she hopped down from her perch on the railing to better watch Kith and Tri wrestle, while Jeanne would squawk out encouragement to the both of them! Kudzu, however, would only cast the group a glance before sighing and closing his eyes once more, while Flo remained where she was, leaning against Andrew's side.
Seeing that the pokemon were doing just fine and didn't need too much supervision though, Andrew soon would return to sewing; letting Kith and Tri continue wrestling, figuring that one of the two would tucker themselves out eventually - and that Tri would eventually head back to his trainer on his own. However, it seemed that the trainer in question would be coming to them, instead..!
Before long, a set of footsteps approaching would draw Andrew's attention- prompting him to glance up and see an older man, and the two twins who brought him over. Circuit would chitter to Adi in greeting, and Inari would give a gentle yip as well with a wag of her tails. Andrew, though, seemed a lot more shy and anxious; tensing just a hair, as he glanced down to the scarf he was working on, upon being asked a question. "Oh! U-uhm..." At first, Andrew would mumble a bit uncertainly; as though he were trying to find the words to say, but...
... The young man would soon shake his head 'no' in response to the question, murmuring "They're j-just, well, playing; it's, uhm, o-okay..." to Adi. Kith and Tri both seemed to be being good about not hurting each other; so he wasn't all that worried about them playwrestling. Hopefully Adi would see things the same way.
Adi was still concerned, looking to the wrestling Pokemon and watching them carefully, he kept getting flashbacks of the Wingull fight awhile ago. Tri was a good mon, but he didn't always take a hint. This time though, the play fighting was just that, play. Tri was definitely being careful, his jaws never fully closing when they were around the smaller zigzagoon, and he wasn't using his size to his advantage as much as he usually did in battle. Adi sighed, visibly relieved as he rand his hand through his hair. "That's good. I was worried, he hasn't been the most gentle with wild Pokémon lately. So I thought that might extend to all Pokémon." Adi explained, still watching the Pokemon play and chuckling with amusement as Tri somehow flipped himself over Kith and rolled. What a silly pup at heart.
"Yay, everything is okay now!" The louder twin spoke and cheered. The quieter one let out her own little cheer before she was spying what Andrew was doing. Curious she sat to watch, keeping quiet and far enough away that she wouldn't disturb Andrew. Or make it awkward.
"We should have a battle to celebrate!" The girl cried, already reaching around her inner tube and releasing her two Pokemon. Away from the already rambunctious duo. Adi grinned down at the mantyke and the panpour.
"Sounds good to me, I've wanted to see what these two can do. Let's do it Ani, Tio!" He held out his arm, the small bugs crawling down his arm to land in front of him. Ani let out a small sigh, but stuck to her brother figure who hissed and chittered eagerly.
"Mantyke, Bubble!" The girll called cheerfully. And the small manta ray sprayed out a shower of bubbles towards the bugs. It wasn't a strong attack though.
Adi grinned, already getting an idea. "Spider Web you two!" He called in retaliation. The webs were shot out, spiraling through the air and popping a good portion of the bubbles. The rest were easy enough to dodge, the spiders hopping around to dodge them. Panpour was called out to do a scratch attack. Ani squeaked out as she was hit, distracting Tio so he was also hit by the mantyke's tackle. Only now Tio was mad, and before Adi could call out a command he was shooting a Freeze Dry towards the water monkey. And Ani was told to use an Absorb which healed her for some of the damage she had taken. But two super effective hits against a relatively untrained Panpour? It was recalled as it fainted. Now it was two versus one, and Adi felt a bit bad that he had the advantage now. But it was a fair two on two battle, it wasn't like he was cheating. And the girl was being a good sport about it, just happy she was getting a battle.
Kapua called for Mantyke to use another Bubble. Tio was able to dodge, but Ani got hit with the bubbles and shook them off, though her speed was noticeably lower, squinting at the water that had gotten into her eyes. Tio shotoff another freeze dry, and Adi shot her silken thread at the manta ray. The battle was very back and forth, but the stronger Mantyke was getting whittled down, Ani using Absorb and string shots to lower its speed and get her own health back, keeping the focus on her. While Tio was the main damage dealer, favoring his freeze dry attack. But the Mantyke went down and was recalled.
"That was fun! Thank you! I'll be right back Ariel!" The girl yelled out as she ran inside to get her Pokemon healed. But would Ariel follow or did she want to fight Andrew too?
Active Party ((Please ignore Tri when rolling encounters)) Tri, Electrike, lvl 13, 5/5 Fortio, Arciel Joltik, lvl 2, 4/5 Piani, Joltik, lvl 2, 4/5 Andrew Wynn - Oh shoot, I hadn't realized it had been this long. Sorry about that Tsuki!
Andrew wouldn't meet Adi's gaze, as the older man spoke; not that it mattered much, given that his attention was more on Tri and Kith playing. The young coordinator had hoped that this would be a quiet and solitary boatride - especially given that he was hanging more towards the back - but... That didn't seem to be the case. All he would do is simply nod in acknowledgement as Adi spoke about Tri - casting him the briefest nervous glance - before staring down at his own sewing.
This was nervewracking, even if he didn't really appear as nervous as he truly felt. Should he say something? Or was it fine to leave Adi without a proper response? Would just being quiet be rude...?
All the while though, it was almost as though Kith didn't even notice that others were here. He was just happy to spend time with a new friend, and tussle with them! As Tri tumbled over, Kith would bark and leap - taking the opportunity to attempt to pounce atop the larger Electrike! Got you, he'd bark; playfully mouthing at Tri all the while, his tail wagging hard! This was fun; he hoped he could make tons more friends like this! What other sorts of pokemon could he meet, playing with them like this?
Before long though, Adi's attention would be drawn away from Andrew - giving him a chance to breathe, much to the young man's relief. Glancing over, he could see Adi and the rambunctious twin stepping away to have a pokemon battle - something that he couldn't help but watch with a hue of curiosity, at seeing what other pokemon they both had. In particular, he'd note Adi's Joltiks - which made him wonder, if the older trainer had an interest in Electric-types in particular.
He'd soon also note the quieter twin, who was seated a respectful distance away, seeming to be watching him. As their gazes met, the younger girl glanced away shyly - as if caught with her hand in the cookie jar - and Andrew, too, couldn't help but shyly directly his gaze down... Though, he would soon gesture the young girl over, to let her better watch him sew. He couldn't miss the way that her eyes lit up as she scooted over, and he couldn't help the smallest of fond smiles as he turned towards her a little to show him what he was doing.
She was a lot like him, wasn't she? Shy and quiet... He wanted to be encouraging towards her, even if interacting people was nervewracking - if only because he didn't want to see her deal with the same anxieties that he held.
Before long, Adi's fight with Kapua would end - and as she called to Ariel, the shy twin would nod in response, before turning her attention back to Andrew's work - which was just about finished. With the last few stitches in place, the young man would glance up to Circuit - "C'mere, Circuit..." - and call her over, so as to put the scarf around the Dedenne's neck.
The electric mouse would, near-immediately, squeak in delight - nuzzling her face into the soft fabric that had been used. Andrew laughed gently, reaching over to scratch Circuit behind the ear, before the baby Dedenne scurried off - approaching Adi! Insistently, the Dedenne squeaked at the older man, puffing out her chest to show off the scarf to him, as if to say 'look at what my trainer made me! isn't it great?'
Andrew, in response, couldn't help but flush a bit at Circuit showing off his work like that - smiling nervously down at his lap, where Inari was still lounged across. Amusement flickered in the Vulpix's eyes, as she'd bring her head up to bunt against Andrew's chin affectionately, prompting Andrew to gently scritch her head as he begun putting the sewing supplies back in his bag for the time being.
