His bike continued to creak and groan each time the wheels made a rotation, and Sayu honestly wasn't sure how much longer the bike would last. The redhead was just hoping that the bike made it to Pine. Once he was there he could do a few jobs to get a new one. Then pulling his tent trailer would be easy, and he wouldn't have to suffer with the slower travel he was managing. Though he probably would be able to go faster if he didn't have four eggs with him. Though the bike was also a big factor.
The redhead sighed, it was so much easier to walk the thing, so he hopped off anyway, amiling at Vermillion as she tilted her head at him from her perch in the basket. "It's easier to just walk the silly thing. Don't worry Millie, I'll get us there." Sayu continued to smile as he pushed the bike forward, head tilting down as he pushed the increased weight from the tent trailer as well as the resistance caused from the stuck brakes.
"Thanks mom, giving me a barely workable bike. It sure helps me get around." Sayu grumbled, causing the Cyndaquill to giggle before she was looking around. Sayu may not have been paying the most attention to their surroundings, but at least she was!

Vermillion continued to keep her eyes peeled, as much as a Cyndaquil could at least. She was at least more aware of what was going on while Sayu continued with his slow but steady steps to get them to Pine Town. The redhead continued to keep his head down, pushing the bike and heavy load. "Millie, remind me not to carry this many eggs again. Please? At least not until I get a new bike." The young man whined, hand breaking away to wipe at his forehead. This was getting to be a lot of work.
But it was definitely decided. He would do whatever it took once they reached Pine to get a new one.
Millie giggled at her trainer's difficulties. Humans, making everything harder than it needs to be. The fire mouse shook her head before she looked back to the path. Oh! What was that? Vermillion squeaked out, waving her arms.
"What'sup Millie?" Sayu asked, finally looking up at his Pokemon. She waved her small arms, then pointed in the direction of the pink thing. Sayu's eyes followed before he 'Ahh'd in understanding.
"That's an Apricorn Millie. They can be used to make pokeballs." Sayu explained, kicking down the bike's stand so he could go and check it out. "Yeah, that an Apricorn alright. Sweet." The redhead smiled, depositing the apricorn into his bag in the tent trailer. Then it was time to get back to pushing the bike.
As soon as you get back to pushing the bike, you notice a sudden drop in temperature. This is much more than a chill wind, though; it's like a chilly draft, or a sudden wave of a cold front. You think you can even see the tops of the trees begin to frost over in fernlike patterns of ice and your breath comes out in misting clouds that's easily visibly in the frosty air. How strange!

One step, two steps, and then the temperature became noticeable. Now Sayu was expecting the possibility of some chilly winds, something minor, which is why he had a light sweater on right now. Short sleeved so most of his arms bare. But this, this was unexpected, this was much more than a chilly wind. This was something beyond that. And the best part? Sayu never liked the cold, detested it, especially when it was the kind of cold that no matter how many layers you put on you still felt the cold. And wearing more than two layers like this was just uncomfortable to the young man.
So when it continued to got cold, he noticed and he hissed out a breath, staring at it with a mixture of curiosity and slight horror as his breath fogged before dissappearing. Now that was cold. Wheels stopped rolling as Sayu's arms wrapped around his form, worrying more about what was happening than moving forward. Wait.... his eggs! Sayu scrambled quickly, throwing all of the blankets inside on top of the eggs, bundling them as much as he could before coming back out.
"Any idea what's going on Millie?" Sayu asked, teeth chattering. The Cyndaquil whined and reached her arms up, Sayu picking her up like she requested and holding her to his chest. Some of her warmth seeping into him instead. Just what was going on?
Red eyes widened. He had heard people saying that there were sightings of Ultra Beasts, but he hadn't really believed them as there wasn't any pictures or videos. Now the redhead was wracking his brain, looking around. Frost was building on the trees, was there any ice type Ultra Beasts that they knew of?
Sayu stayed still against his better judgment, waiting to see if something happened to jump out at him. He had no idea why it had gotten so cold, was it a natural phenomenon that he had no idea about? Or was it indeed caused by some sort of pokemon? He couldn't recall much in the way of ice types in the area, though if this was just localized to his immediate surroundings then that would make sense. But if it was the entire Route? That could only be the work of a legendary or an Ultra Beast.
Yeah, he didn't want to stick around to find out! Clutching the Cyndaquil to his chest with one arm, he used the other to try and keep pushing the bike forward. He didn't get very fair before he heard a very high pitched squeal. Looking up he saw a lady with a sun hat wearing high heels and a dress. Well, that was a shame that he wasn't the only one caught out in such cold weather. And she had more exposed skin than even he did.
"You okay?" The redhead called out, abandoning his bike for now to close the small amount of distance between them.
"No! This cold front came out of nowhere. I'm freezing!" The young woman whined, arms hugged around her body. "I have an idea! A battle could warm us up!" She declared, not giving Sayu any time to actually respond before she was releasing her Sewadle. And Millie was reacting to the brewing battle before he could convince her otherwise. Sayu sighed but put her down where she scampered forward. With a cry the flames on her back ignited.
This really wasn't going to help the trainers much though.
And the battle was frankly disappointing. Yes, Millie had a type advantage, but literally had no moves to make use of that yet. Tackle and Leer on Sayu's side, Tackle and String shot on their opponents. The battle consisted of just a lot of back and forth tackling, both Pokemon new to their trainers and not the highest level yet. And while Sayu would at least feel the bit of warmth from Millie's flames as she got close, the lady was less lucky. Each minute that passed left her even colder.
Tackle, Tackle, String shot, Tackle, Tackle, Leer. Each move seemed to make the lady more and more annoyed. It was so evenly matched, but the Sewaddle fell first. Millie was still panting from the exertion and would need some rest.
The lady recalled her pokemon and whined how it was unfair her idea didn't work, not so kindly tossed Sayu his winnings and was stomping off to search for some way to get out of the cold. Sayu shrugged, he probably could have saved her the effort and told her that it wouldn't work. But whatever, at least Sayu was a bit warmer, and so was Millie. Heading back to his bike he heard some soft crying from the tent and quickly peeked inside.
He hadn't even heard his eggs hatch!
"Oh no! I'm so sorry darlings!" Sayu cooed to the two Eevees and the Cutiefly that had hatched while he had been distracted. All three of them were trembling and feeling the cold, so the blankets were shifted to bundle them up as much as he could. Now he just needed names! And he could already tell that one of the Eevees was bugger than the other, and he had always wanted a nice, large Flareon.
"I'll name you Carmine. You'll be Hazel." He named the Eevees, Millie snuggling up to them to create a cuddle pile and warm them up. "And you..." Sayu tilted his head as he thought. "And you'll be Amber. Nwo everyone cuddle up, and I'll see if I can get us out of this cold." Sayu smiled, giving everyone a pat, tucking in the Skarmory egg again, before throwing one a second sweater. He only had light ones, so this didn't do much. But hopefully it helped while he pushed the bike onwards.
