Today was the day. Jae already prepared her essentials, filming equipment, gaming consoles, Poke Balls, and even her costumes and makeup, and right now, she was standing in front of a ferry boat on the dock with her parents stood right in front of her. As a Coordinator, she has to train and coordinate special acts and battles for the Pokemon Contest. But she knew that she couldn't participate with just her Absol and Tauros. She needed to catch Pokemon while gaining a bit of experience with many battles to come. Hopefully, she could do that during the ferry to Plum City where the next Contest would take place in the next few days.
Eventually, she said her goodbyes to her parents and her older brother as she promised them that she would contact them from time to time and assured them that Aki and Matador would take care of her. Once she did, Jae entered the ferry and after a while, she witnessed it leaving the docks of Bass City as she waved goodbye to her family for now.
A few minutes after the ferry departed from the docks, she decided to take this chance to go around the deck to find a place to film the start of her Coordinator vlog.
After she wandered around a bit, she found herself back on the deck as she lied down on one of the benches. While she didn't find anything interesting to film around the boat, she might as well rest for a few minutes before she could start filming. But as she did so, she noticed something jump onto the deck.
"Huh? What was that?"
Jae looked around to see where it was. But for some reason, she didn't find anything strange. She sighed and shrugged at this before she closed her eyes to take a nap.
-----
An hour later, she managed to prepare her cameras and took out her Pokemon as she stood in front and pressed play on her phone camera.
"Hey, hey! Did you miss me? Then JaeTrickster is here! Sorry for the wait, my Tricksters! But as you can see, I'm here on the ferry boat that is heading towards Plum City, wherein a few days, I will be participating in my first-ever Pokemon Contest!" She declared in her usual loud voice, but not loud enough to disturb the other travelers and trainers. "That's right! As promised from my previous stream and video, I will be starting a vlog series that chronicles my adventures as a Pokemon Coordinator! And I'm not alone on this journey because I have my very own Pokemon with me! Say hi, everyone!"
She then moved her camera towards her party, which her Absol and Tauros just stared at it with indifference, which Jae secretly frowned behind it.
"Hehehe... Sorry about that. But despite their rude greeting, they are my trusted partners who will be helping me out on my journey as a Coordinator. I will be showing you a brief clip of me on my Tauros, Matador's capture, but I will be putting up another video on how I met my special Absol, Aki."
But as she continued filming her vlog, a purple blur appeared behind the Pokemon, something that Aki noticed as she turned around and growled. However, she stopped when her expression turned into confusion at what she saw.
"It's going to be a while until I reach Plum City. So for now, I'll show you what this ferry has to offer. Well, it's not a cruise ship, though. So I doubt there's a pool here..."
But just she could do anything on camera, she heard her Absol barked behind her. Confused, Jae turned around and gasped to see a small star with a red gem on the middle started to spin around and let out some strange psychic waves from its gem. At first, she started to panic that it might attack either Aki and Matador. But as she watched it spinning around and throwing the wave around like spinning fireworks, she was amazed at what she saw. She was so entranced at its act that she didn't bother to turn off her phone camera as it focused on the spinning star.
Once it landed on the deck and took a bow, Jae clapped at the Pokemon, much to Aki and Matador's shock before she approached it. "That was so amazing! Are you some kind of a well-trained Pokemon from a dancer or something?"
The star Pokemon nodded no before it spun itself in mid-air again.
"No? Does that mean you don't belong to anyone?"
The wild Pokemon nodded yes and spun again.
"Wow! You're so good at dancing and yet, you're just a wild Pokemon. But it's a shame nobody seems to catch you." She closed her eyes and hummed while her Pokemon started at her in confusion. While Matador was a bit confused regarding his trainer's mindset, Aki stared at the star Pokemon in suspicion. However, she stopped when she heard a loud clap from her trainer's hands. "I've decided. How about you join my team? I'm planning to travel to Plum City and join my very first Pokemon Contest! With your spin dancing skills, we can wow everyone in the Arciel region! What do you say?"
The wild Pokemon stared at her for a few seconds until it spun in mid-air a few times.
"So is that a yes?" Jae asked happily as she quickly pulled out an empty Poke Ball. "That's great! Then Poke Ball, let's go!"
She then threw the ball to the wild Pokemon in an attempt to catch it.

Note: Used a Poke Ball to capture Starmie by befriending.
After three shakes, her Poke Ball clicked shut, which caused Jae's eyes to perk up as she picked it up and stared at it for a few seconds.
"Yes... YES!!! I got my third Pokemon!" She jumped around the deck like a Buneary as Aki and Matador stared at their trainer in confusion, which they wondered just why she was all quirky like this. "Oh, yeah! The camera's still rolling. I need to show this before it consumes most of the SD card's memory."
She then stopped jumping before she tossed her ball in the air to take her new Starmie out of its new home. When it did, the Mysterious Pokemon looked around until they saw Jae as she pointed her phone camera on them and herself.
"Sorry about that, Tricksters! But it seems I got an uninvited guest into my vlog!" She explained as she tried to hug her purple starfish Pokemon, but she ended up hurting herself due to their pointed body. "Ow, ow, ow... Okay, no touchy on your body. Anyways, it seems that they are a great dancer and they accepted my invitation into my Coordinator journey! Of course, this means you need a cool nickname! And no need to comment down below, because I decided to call them "Starry". What do you think?"
The shiny Absol stared at her trainer in disbelief for the strange nickname that she gave to her Water/Psychic-type while the Tauros just reacted with indifference. However, to their surprise, the Starmie beeped happily, which Jae chuckled happily.
"Great! From now on, your Starry! One of our literal stars of the Jae team!"
She then waved at the camera with Starry by her side as the two sane Pokemon began to wonder what will happen next now that a Starmie joined the party.
A few hours after capturing Starry, Jae took the time to admire the ocean from the deck with her eyes sparkled and her jaws dropped as she stared at the waters, the blue sky, and the clouds above her. Unlike before, she didn't have her filming equipment with her, which left her with her maroon backpack as her smartphone was now in her pocket. While she was busy with the deck, Aki was watching her intensely in her attempt to protect her from any danger with Matador glared at any passerby and Starry somehow snoring near their trainer's legs.
"Man, just seeing this again for the 13th time really is amazing. I already took a lot of photos for my social media and blog, but seeing this without my camera just seems so relaxing that I can't tell how long are we in the boat by now."
She then sighed and stretched her arms, who seemed relaxed after staring at the ocean. But just after she put her arms down, she noticed something swimming below the boat. Upon taking a closer look, it was a small fish Pokemon jumping in and out of the water.
"Wow! Look at that Remoraid! Auntie has one at the daycare and it looks like it's dancing." She was half-right. As she stared at the Jet Pokemon jumped and spin around like a top, which her Pokemon also noticed. "It's so beautiful! It's just like Starry! I must have it!"
With that declaration, Jae quickly started following the Water-type, much to Aki's shock at what her trainer was about to do.
"Excuse me, Remoraid! If you don't mind, would you like to join my Coordinator journey?" Upon it noticed the young Coordinator, the Remoraid startled and tried to flee from her, which caused her to gasp at what it was doing. "H-H-Hey! I'm just asking nicely if you like to join! Come on, Remoraid! Please say yes!"
Despite her pleas, the Jet Pokemon continued to flee, much to her shock just as Starry joined her.
"No way! I'm not letting a talented Pokemon getaway! Dad said I have to battle it so I can capture it. So let's do that!" Her Starmie echoed and jumped in determination, starting the Coordinator. "Oh, sorry I didn't see you there, Starry."
With that, she ordered her Water/Psychic-type to use 2 Psybeams that made clean hits to the Jet Pokemon. However, it then used Focus Energy and Water Gun to push its opponent away. However, Starry countered with a Minimize and followed with 2 Rapid Spins. This caused the Water-type to flew from the water and into the air near the 17-years-old girl. Realized where it was, the Remoraid fired 2 Water Pulses to the Starmie, which was countered with their Psybeam, which caused the waves to create a small explosion as Jae covered her eyes.
"I will get that dancing Remoraid no matter what! Get it, Poke Ball!"
Just as her Absol and Tauros joined Jae and Starry, she then threw the Poke Ball towards Remoraid before it could dive back into the water.

As the ball fell into the ocean, it shook two times as Jae nervously stared at it from the deck. Then with the third shake, it clicked shut, which signified her ownership with the Jet Pokemon as her eyes perked up when she witnessed this. "All right, all right! I got the dancing Remoraid! Did you guys see that?! Oh man, I wish I could have recorded that! Still, just having it makes our party even bigger and better for our Contest debut and..." Aki quickly barked at her trainer before she could continue her rant and pointed below the deck. When she did, the rookie Coordinator screamed at what she saw. "Hang on! How am I supposed to get my Remoraid now?!"
Just before she could panic and scream, even more, her Starmie jumped into the ocean and picked it up with their psychic abilities to levitate back to their trainer. This made her happy as she accepted the ball from them.
"Thank you, Starry! You're a lifesaver!" She then stared at her wet Poke Ball. "This is great! At this rate, I am fully ready for my first Contest!"
She flashed a big grin and raised her Poke Ball up in the air while her Absol and Tauros stared at her in concern.
"Look out, world! Jae Tsukuda is here and I'm going to win it with all of my Pokemon. So if you got any more Pokemon for me to see, then bring it on!"
Unknown to her, many guests in the deck stared at her in disbelief, much to Aki and Matador's frustration.
After she caught her Remoraid, she took the time in another part of the deck to introduced herself and her party to it. Unfortunately, their first meeting as partners was a bit rough. So she decided to let her Pokemon rest in her Poke Balls for now.
A few hours have passed and Jae was now wandering around the boat along with her action camera equipped on her forehead. She didn't say anything as usual, but she retained her smile as she looked around the deck. But as she looked down, she gasped.
"Oh, that wasn't supposed to be here."
She then picked it up, which turned out to be two Red Apricorns on the floor. Just a closer look at them made her realized it was still fresh.
"Weird... Did someone left them here by accident?" Jae looked around, which she didn't seem to notice that the others didn't seem to notice what she was holding. "Huh... I know it's rude for me to take someone else's belongings, but I guess these belong to me now. I'm sorry in advance, though."
She then pocketed the Apricorns into her backpack before she resumed her vlog filming.
