It was another windy day in Birch City and thankfully for Armand, he was free from work for today as he was walking on the bricked path of the city's park. However, he wasn't alone with his Litwick and Houndour. As he carried three eggs with him as one of them was glowing on his arms while the other one was stored inside his bag. After his mail delivery job, his recent travels in some routes, and his attempts to befriend his new Electric-type to no avail, he was relieved to take a break and hopefully meet his new partners from his eggs.
As he sat on the park bench, he carefully took out a long towel from his bag and slowly wrapped around the glowing egg as Violet slowly walked closer to it, which Armand smiled when he noticed him. "You're curious about your new partner, huh?" He asked his Ghost/Fire-type as he stroke his candlewax head. "I understand how you feel. Just keep your flame up and it will be hatched in no time."
Violet's eyes perked up at Armand's encouragement, which made him cried in determination and slowly approached the egg without burning it by accident. As he did so, Armand stood up and stretched out his arms as he stared at the moving leaves of the trees that surrounded the park.
It may have been windy, but it still wasn't too bad out. And as someone who had just been cooped up inside all day, Sonia needed out. Sure the wind was a bit chilly, but that had never stopped the young woman. Sweaters and thicker clothes were made for a reason! And they were usually quite comfy. Sonia loved wearing her light blue hooded pull over sweater. It had a large pocket up from which was both good for storing things and just keeping her hands warm. Especially when she had a ridiculously small eevee who loved to squeeze into said pocket. Who needed a hand warmer when you had an Eevee. And Starlight really enjoyed small spaces, like they actually made her feel normal sized? That's the vibe that Sonia got from the Eevee, but she had more recently hatched and Sonia was still getting acquainted with her. And a few of her other Eevees for that matter.
When had she gotten six Eevees? Awhile ago apparently. That didn't bother her more than not knowing her Pokemon. So a bonding session was in order! And what was better than going to the park? Each Eevee was given a collar, though Sonia could tell them all apart didn't mean others could. And it meant they had tags in case someone got lost.
So after work, she had gotten changed, gathered the Eevees and then headed out. There was a few people at the park, but not too many. All of her Pokemon knew to stay with her, but Sister ran off as soon as they got into the actual park and started running around, looking for someone to tussel with. Darling and Brother stuck together, walking right at Sonia's feet and nearly tripping her occasionally. Moonlight also stayed nearby, though keeping her distance as if she wanted to be part of the group but wasn't. Kusai was also quick to bound off to check out the place, and Eevee number six was still hiding in Sonia's pocket while she giggled and tickled the little fox.
Sonia didn't want to be rude, but she saw a man holding an egg and cooed at it, noting the glow of it before her eyes widened. It would hatch any minute now? Did he know that? She was pulling her phone out and wandering closer to him to ask. "Sorry sir." Her text to speech app spoke for her. "But you do know that your egg is very ready to hatch? And that it might be safer on the ground for a few minutes?"
Active Party Darling, Eevee (f, average 1ft, pink collar) Brother, Eevee (m, average 1ft3in, special color, light blue collar) Sister, Eevee (f, small 7in, special color, yellow collar) Starlight, Eevee (f, tiny 5in, purple collar) Moonlight, Eevee (f, huge 2ft, black collar) Kusai, Eevee (m, small 8in, green collar) Armand Leclair
Upon hearing a female's voice, Armand turned to see a blonde-haired woman approaching him. While he wasn't surprised at her presence and her preference to use the text-to-speech app to talk, he was a bit surprised at seeing a horde of Eevees walking by her side. That aside, Armand's eyes widened after hearing that he needed to put his egg on the ground when it was ready to hatch, something that he didn't know until now.
"O-Oh... Is that so? I know it's ready to hatch, but I never know about that. Sorry about that."
He then walked up to the flickering egg and gently carried it down to the ground as she instructed, which Violet noticed before he jumped down from the bench. Once he did so, the egg began to shake and before he could react, the shell cracked, and out came a large dark-bluish ghost Pokemon.
"Oh, my... It's a Misdreavus..."
Just the sight of his newly-hatched Pokemon made him recall meeting his grandfather's Misdreavus during his childhood visits. The last time he saw it was when he witnessed them joining his older cousin on his journey as a Nurse. Though he never expected him to obtain his own Screech Pokemon from an egg. So as it opened its eyes, Armand took the time to see his face, which allowed it to see him as his new guardian and trainer.
"Hello, Misdreavus. It's nice to meet you."
Upon it saw him, the Ghost-type happily chirped and rubbed against his chest, much to his delight before he turned to the young woman.
"Thank you for the advice. I'm not exactly very knowledgeable with eggs, so I almost panicked when you warned me when you told me to put it down on the ground."
Note: Just to clear things up, Armand did learn from his friend that he needed to use body warm when he hatched his Houndour. Problem is his friend is new at breeding and Armand is not very knowledgeable on Pokemon eggs.
She looked sheepish, a bit of pink coloring her cheeks. This felt so embarrassing, potentially telling an older man what to do. Yeah, that was probably quite rude and now she felt bad about it, even if it was for his and the eggs safety. Sonia knew the color of eevee eggs off by heart now, but she didn't know what kind of egg that was. And there were how many possibilities? Hundreds, actually a thousand easily if you considered all the variants having their own shell colors. But her main concern was not knowing how big, or heavy, a pokemon was upon hatching. Considering most of them came out full sized, and just how big they could be.
So Sonia backed up, making sure to give the egg and the man their space as the egg was pulsing quite brightly. Then it split open. Sonia was already pulling up the pokedex app as this wasn't a pokshe recognized. But the man said it for her. A Misdreavus, ghost type. So that wouldn't have been too bad if it hatched on his lap.
"No, it's okay. I wasn'ttrying to be rude, I just know how big, or heavy Pokemon can be sometimes. You wouldn't want a Larvitar hatching on your lap would you? Or an Onix? Or even a Lapras?" Sonia explained, typing away quickly. "I'msorry if I came across as rude, I was just very worried at the possibilities." But she sighed in relief. A Misdreavus was much better than the options she was thinking of. Her shoulders relaxed, and she smiled softly. Newly hatched Pokemon were always so cute.
"Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Sonia Antoni, a nurse in training at the local Pokemon Center. And these are all my Eevees." She typed, giggling when the smallest Eevee peeked out of her pocket.

Oh, right. He almost forgot that this region was known for the Pokemon's sizes. Despite he was relieved that the Misdreavus was a bit light for him to carry him, he couldn't imagine the weight of it when he hatched. Still, he couldn't help but chuckle at this.
"It's alright. Besides, we can't expect what kind of Pokemon and the size of it when it hatches from the egg. We just have to expect the unexpected." As he spoke, another egg started to flicker in white light, which he slowly took it out from his back to the ground where the towel was placed.
But after he did so, his eyes widened to see her phone where she introduced herself. This might be a bit awkward since he just met her and he didn't want to be a bother. But then again, he felt like he could trust her for some reason. She seemed nice despite her pack of Eevees did give him a bit of minor traumatic flashbacks from his first job.
"U-Uh... Right. I'm Armand Leclair. I just moved here from Lumiose City for my new job as a contract worker and I'm also a Pokemon trainer." As soon as he saw her small Eevee, he briefly flinched before he tried to regain his composure. But as he did so, a small book from his bag started to float a few meters away from the bench, which Violet and Noire stopped to see in shock while it has a small chance for the nurse to notice behind him. At the same time, the egg on the towel began to hatch.
