The Lucario fidgeted slightly at the attention, but nodded his head respectfully at the praise given by the seer. Soph smiled faintly, shifting nervously as she mixed the frosting and Eri added the flavor extract. This was enjoyable, actually. Having someone going through the tasks with her... She'd been worried, especially when the other girl started talking about prophecies and such, but she wasn't trying to sell anything, like many self-proclaimed psychics did and that realization did help even more to put the black-haired girl's mind at ease. Plus, she was just so chipper it was kind of infectious.
DING!
Soph jumped a little as the timer went off and turned off the mixer to set it beside the bowl. Moving over to the oven, she turned off the timer and opened the oven to tap the cookies gently to make sure they weren't too soft still.
As the timer went of Eri went to ensure all the toppings were ready, checking on them all before going to join Pandora in bringing the cookies over, grabbing a fork just in-case and gently poking it in the side of the cookie to see if there's any residue left over- usually when there was you had to put it back in, right? Since it meant it was undercooked? Not that Eri knew too much about cookies. "I hope they're good!" Came Eri's voice, as she all but got ready to lather their creation in icing, sprinkles and whatever else the star guide could get her hands on.
Soph smiled at the other girl and nodded her head. "I'm sure they'll be... well, I at least think they'll be great." As she made her way over to set down the tray, she felt a little cursed. First, she almost tripped herself but managed to was able to catch herself and not throw any of the cupcakes on the floor. Second, she realized there were nothing to put the tray on--no pot holders or heat-resistant pads of any kind.
"U-uhm... E-Eri, can you, um, please grab the... um..." What were they called again? She took a deep breath, trying to gather her thoughts and steer them away from the self-debilitating train. "Oven mitts! No, pot holders. Th-those... Pot holders, to put on the counter so... so we make sure not to burn it." At this point, she realized the countertops were most likely meant for this sort of thing and were probably heat resistant so the baker wouldn't have to waste time with things like this.
Dumb. Shaking her head a little, Soph sighed and waved it off. "N-never mind, actually. I... forgot I w-wasn't at home, I... guess? These counters are... I mean, probably meant for this? Er, a-and anyway, let's just... get a cooling rack and put the cupcakes straight on it and then we can just put the tray in the sink." After spraying it with hot water, of course, to even out the heat a little bit.

Eri watched as the cupcakes were brought out annnd- they looked stellar!! She couldn't be any more excited to ice the creation! As the star began to talk again Eri was quick on her feet! So she had to grab... oven mitts, she can do that! As she rushed to one side of the kitchen Soph corrected herself- pot holders? Okay, she can get those! Fumbling through the cupboards now she'd barely found them when Soph spoke again, and blinked... so... not pot holders, then? "Yeah!" The star sounded insecure, so Eri was here to help! "I'm sure the counters will be okay with it- but it doesn't help to think about other things, just in case!"
And then she was intructed to get a cooling rack- or more-so one was mentioned, and Eri moved to grab one excitedly, going to the cupboard she was at before and placing it on the counter for Soph to do with as she pleased.
You deposit the cupcakes on the cooling rack. Perfect!
Tossing the tray into the sink, you go to switch on the ... was it supposed to be hot water? Uh-oh. Something appears to be stuck. Before you can switch it off again, the faucet springs a leak and sprays icy cold water all over the kitchen. But by a miraculous stroke of luck, Eri Novae is standing directly between you and the cupcake rack, so the cakes are fine!
"Thank y-you," Soph offered to her partner as she was sent on a wild goose chase of sorts. Thinking that she really should be better at keeping her thoughts to herself, she went about getting those cupcakes onto the cooling rack and smiled at them. They did look pretty great. They'd managed not to mess them up too badly, at least. Not much left to do in order to finish up!
Going over to the sink with the pan in hand, she was too distracted by her thoughts and reached for the wrong valve. Realizing it too late, the pan fizzed with steam and everything went wrong. Horrified by the water spraying everywhere, Soph stepped back and stared at the broken faucet and the pan before turning around to see Eri just as soaked as she was.
"I'm so sorry! Oh my Celebi... Oh no..." More than a little panicking, she put the pan in the sink and tried again to turn off the water. At least if the valve was off, the strength of the spray would go down, right? She hoped...
These were going to be great! Eri couldn't wait to decorate them and show the baker! She was practiclaly bouncing in excitement at this po- Eri let out what much have been a squeal as she was suddenly splashed with water, drenching her lolita outfit of the day. Eri attempted to push her hands outwards to stop the spray of water, however it seemed Soph was... hopefully, able to stop it?! Eri quickly moved to grab a teatowel to try get the water off herself, eyes flicking to Soph then back to the water.
She had to assure the star it was fine! "It's okay! This was in the fates- and it's just a bit of water after all! As long as the cupcakes aren't harmed- of course we could just make another batch if they were..." she trailed off then, dabbing herself to try further dry, going to check on their baked goods.
With an excessively heavy sigh of relief once the water turned off, Soph drooped over the sink. Carefully removing her hands from the faucet, she whimpered quietly. After a few more moments and Eri's words, she moved to stand upright again.
Turning back toward her coworker of sorts, Soph's expression quickly switched to horror. "Oh no, oh no, oh no," she whined, panicking as she saw the batter smeared on the psychic's outfit. And then she burst into tears, wallowing in her guilt over the mess in the kitchen and now the ruined dress. The cupcakes could be remade, sure. The soaked kitchen could be cleaned up, absolutely. Even the dress could be fixed with the right attention, but she felt like she was all of those things put together: a mess, a ruin, and wasted hard work (unaware that the cupcakes were absolutely protected).
Eri was getting dry, the teatowel worked wonders and everything should be over once decorations were added, and cute icing! She couldn't wait! Eri glanced down as she moved to finsih wiping her dress, only to pause and stare in confusion, one blink, two, then a gasp! Oh- oh stars? Noo, this was one of her pretty bow ones- though it was technically already in the fates and she was unable to get away from what had happened- surely some stardust and hard work would do the trick and she'd get it out in no time!
As Eri had begun to look at the positives, it seems Pandora had done exactly the opposite.Eyes flicked up at the girls 'oh no's', partially confused, at least until she saw the star crying- aAH?! Had she done something?! What was wrong!? "Pandora- star, you're alright!" Eri had no idea what to do, she wasn't a comforting person, and she didn't know the first thing about making a person okay- usually she just made them worse, uh... "I have cleaning stuff at home- and the cupcakes are fine! So- we focus on the cupcakes, and then we can go- did I upset your stars at all?! Uh- uhm..."
She was looking around now, only to find the icing mix she'd laid out earlier, and quickly set it down on a non-wet part of the table, and... food dye- yeah- uh- she moved to grab Soph then gently by the wrist and guide her to the icing bowl- "U-Uhm- star- did you wanna mix icing? Just- uh- watch the pretty colours combine like a solar light show!"
Now poor Eri felt that she was in the wrong and that made Soph sob just a little harder. She tried to listen to what was being said and caught enough that she sucked in a breath and straightened. Tears still lined her cheeks as she kept herself from breathing out before exhaling slowly. Taking a shaky breath in deep, she gazed at the other girl trying to focus on finishing the job
O-okay, she could do this. Using her sleeves, she wiped her face even though there was still some moisture beading in her eyes. "Y-yes, please," she responded. Watching the swirl of color mix into the icing might help calm her, the psychic was right about that. With a fierce thought that she didn't want to ruin Eri's experience in the kitchen, she cleared her throat and stepped over to the mixing bowl. Looking at the off-white mixture, she licked her lips. "Want to... maybe try some purple?" They'd have to mix together some blue and some red or-- "Lavender," she suggested with a bit more excitement than she expected.
Thankfully Soph's stars seemed to calm down and she took to mixing the icing, Eri watched with sparkling eyes as the icing mix was put to use, woo! She could imagine now how the icing was going to turn out, and as Soph glanced to her and asked for her clour choice, with an... excited note to her tone Eri beamed back. "Lavender, yes that's perfect!" Lavender, lavender... lavender! It would look totally stellar when spread on the cupcakes, Eri could see the masterpiece now! "It'll look so totally stellar!"
Once Soph was done mixing Eri would then get ready to ice the cupcakes with the abckside of a tiny spatula, a cute cooking one of course! She was so hype! A little wipe here, a dab of something here... but... surely it was missing something... something... sparkly, that shone like bright, sparkling stars- edible glitter! Eyes wide she turned to Soph, stopping her her tracks. "Pandora- should we put glitter on it?" Because it's always important to ask the stars opinion first!
You are both doing great! That food coloring came out nicely, and as you search around, you find a number of different sprinkes you can add. This includes not only candy stars, candy sparkles, and edible gold but numerous other things to decorate!
Lavender, a very pretty, and very soothing shade of purple. And the fact that Eri liked it too, made it that much better. But the other woman was right, it was still missing something. Even with a pretty colored icing a plain cupcake was still a plain cupcake. Unless they added something a bit more to it. Like how a lily pad could have a flower.
"They would look very pretty with glitter. And maybe there are some candies or sprinkles we could add to them too?" Soph offered, watching as Eri frosted the cupcake. What could she do to help? Well, if they were talking decorations, then maybe she could find those and then they could frost the rest of the cupcakes and decorate them together? That sounded fun.
So with a bit of eagerness to her step, Soph began to look around and found the cabinet with all the decorations. "Oh, they have a lot in here." Soph mused, perhaps a little overwhelmed with the sheer variety. Okay, start small. Eri had asked about glitter right? So she grabbed a couple jars of various colors and brought them over to the counter they were working. What else could they do?
"They have so many candies in here... we could make them look like little galaxies?" Soph put out the idea. "They have candy stars, and candy pearls that could look like planets or moons." The jar of multicolored pastel pearls was pulled out, as well as the various colored stars. "I think they'd look quite pretty." Soph mused out loud as she tried to picture it. Pink, blue and purple glitter, only a bit, with the stars and a few pearls.
