Gabe smiled, sat forward, and bridged his fingers before resting his chin on the very tips of them. “Put simply, I plan on having my Pokemon overpower anyone who gets in the way,” he answered with a glint of something vicious in his gaze. “Knock them out for a bit and put them somewhere. The people in the armored could just as easily be tossed down the sewer for a little extra offered time. Those in the bank could be locked up in their own vault or perhaps even their own panic rooms if we could get ahold of their systems to that extent.”
Humming a little, Gabe glanced forward and away from Senara for a moment. “Getting into the armored car is a bit of a challenge, and I have two possible solutions— well, technically three, but the third relies on some… extraneous factors that I’d rather not get into right now.”Not that I don’t think I can’t psychically manipulate them that far…. Gabe shook off the thought for now. Telling Senara about his abilities was offering up a trump card he had no business showing.
“The armored car actually picks up its contents from a freight shipment,” he assumed the reasoning was obvious enough. Aside from air travel, this was by far the most secure way to transport such goods. “And during the loading, it could be a simple matter of distraction and acquisition.” He paused. “Though this offers a lot more witnesses and chances for someone to hit the panic button and report the situation.” Which for the rest of the plan wasn’t a great situation.
“The other option is to allow the armored truck to pull away and tail it. The last number of shipments, the drivers have made the decision to use a few back alleyways to avoid driving through the heart of town. They probably think they’re safe given their vehicle, but that opens them up to numerous little tricks and traps that can be set up.” He chuckled. “Having a Pokemon fake being hit, falling debris, an unexpected explosion, you know.” A shrug was given. “From there, luring out and overpowering the drivers before they can call for help would be easy enough. That option would require more crowd control.” Because even if there were less people immediately ready to act, there was still the possibility of witnesses.
Another pause. “Part of why I made this little proposition to you to begin with was because of your subtly,” he smirked. “I might not have noticed that bill swipe at all if not for that very last-second maneuver.”
There was that frightening something in his expression she'd seen up-close on the ball-room floor. The same that made her skin crawl and her insides go cold. For somebody praising her for her subtlety--which she was more pleased about than she would ever admit--he was the one that had the "look evil on a dime" trick down pat. If she hadn't known what was lurking beneath that cheerfully punchable smile she would be outright horrified right now. But that mask had been broken at the dance and wasn't going to be put back together with just a few "friendly" moments of back-and-forth. Nope nope nope.
Senara took a long drink from her cup to cover her unease as best she could. It was a lot easier in her own home rather than in a crowd. Hmm. To catch them during the load-up and risk being seen and losing their advantage of surprise, or try to catch them at some point in-between. She didn't want to know what their third idea was. One could only assume it was terrible in some manner. Lowering her glass she reached for the table behind her, snatching up from it her phone, and scrolling through it. As she found what she was looking for she snickered softly, then turned the screen towards Gabe.
"If you want a trick or trap, why not use the oldest, more irritating trick in the book?"
On the screen was a simple compilation image of dozens of Snorlax's, each one asleep, each one somewhere blocking off a road or other important route that the photographer was trying to get to. While not the most dastardly of plots, it was the least likely to make the drivers suspect something was up; Snorlax tended to fall asleep wherever they well pleased, so one just-so-happening to be on the road they were on wasn't strange at all.
"We can put Polochon here in the road; he's small, but a one-way street would still make it hard to get around him. And if the driver's 'smart' they'll know how to get him to move. You know," she retracted her phone, wicked grin still on her face, "By walking out of the van and trying to PokeFlute him awake. And they'd suspect nothing until you and yours dropped on their heads." Polochon gave a small grunt of dismay. He didn't like the idea of being used as a roadblock...not without proper bribery first. Senara didn't bat an eye at this. "Tsk. You'll get a deluxe puff all to yourself if you go along with this, glouton."
That'd do it. Polochon grinned wide, resting his arms over Senara's lap. She huffed a little at the sudden weight--Polochon might have been small, but he was not light at all.
"RIBS. Ahem! Well. Shows what I get for letting my professional pride get me angry," she grumbled at that little smirk on his face. Once again, quite punchable. "You get it, at least now that you've seen my actual work. I'm rarely in such poor form as that mess..."
Those damn crowds. Another reason to avoid the first plan; if they were in a group of people, she was going to panic. She just knew she would. So the further from people...
Gabe’s brow raised as Senara flipped through her phone and then snickered. As she turned it around, though, a small puff of air escaped from him. “Practically the oldest trick in the book by now,” Gabe assessed, his voice light and playful all the same. “But more than perfectly adequate.”
Hm…. But is he big enough? Gabe squinted sideways at the Snorlax sizing him up carefully. He didn’t look like much of a roadblock right now but laying down he could probably spread out just enough to be a nuisance. And then of course luring even a single person out of the van would be enough to reduce the chances of getting caught. Even if there was another or even a pair, one down was one down.
A small snort escaped from Gabe as he watched Senara get squished. “What other Pokemon do you have if you don’t mind me asking?” he cut into his own thoughts to focus on this now. “I’ll be bringing along a Charmander, Venusaur, Ditto, Marowak, and Delibird at minimum.” The last he was still debating on and could depend on what she was bringing to the table.
"I...hm..." Senara placed a finger to her lips in thought. She had never done a heist so big, but she had used her Pokemon to help steal on occasion. Baby Girl was small and fast and good for breaking purse-straps or locks when need-be, and JouJou was pretty much born for the sole purpose of snatching necklaces from unsuspecting passersby. Were they just as helpful in something this large? Maybe he'd done enough of these before to have an idea of what was needed...wait, no, she didn't need his advice! That was a show of weakness! She had to be confident in her choices. Speed, stealth...
"I will probably bring my Sableye--her claws are more than sharp enough to handle any locks in our way--and definitely my Emolga. She's quite small, she'd be perfect if we need something electronic disabled or powered, or if we need something nabbed from somebody unnoticed. Snorlax for a distraction, Grovyle for range..."
It would be pretty funny to break out Chanceux or Crepe in the middle of the bank if they had a door they needed to be broken down, but both of them were so big it might cause more problems than it solved. As much as they didn't like her, she might need...
...no. Reine isn't going to go along with this. I can't bribe her like I can Polochon and she still hates me. God, you make somebody a distraction so you can beat up their friends or family just one time and they despise you forever. Get over it, you brat.
It's not like they are worth it anyway.
"...and Vaporeon for support. Also, you do have a Ditto! How did I know?" Senara rolled her eye, but didn't seem as annoyed by this revelation as she was especially amused. It made way too much sense. "I can only imagine that petit copieur has helped quite a lot in your less-than-legal ventures. That and the Cadoizo--ah, Delibird, rather."
Sipping his water, Gabe watched Senara consider her options. Sableye, Emolga, Snorlax, and Grovyle… Not a bad combination for this. And Vaporeon… Hm, yes that would balance out very nicely then, depending.
The sudden accusation had Gabe blinking a few times. How did she know? Senara’s assessment right after, however, had him snickering. Extending a hand and stretching a palm upwards, Gabe spoke a single word— “Gum.” – before the gold ring on his index finger immediately became pinkish purple and sagged before stretching up into the palm of his hand. The Ditto opened one eye and then the other before looking at Senara and offering a stupid happy smile. “Can be almost anything…” he smiled.
Senara was taken aback for a moment at Gabe's extended hand, not sure what he was up to, before he spoke and his ring began to...melt into a Ditto!? Then it wasn't a ring at all! What--had it been his Ditto all this time? Oh man, if Baby Girl had tried to eat that, it wouldn't have ended well at all. Standing up from her chair and setting her glass on the table behind her, she stepped over so she could get a closer look at the squishy little guy herself. He had such an adorable smile for a strange metamorphosizing goo monster.
"Eh bien regarde toi! I mistook you for actual gold, you sweet little thing! That's dangerous with Baby Girl around. Vous avez de la chance de ne pas avoir été mangé!" She giggled, a genuine warmth to her smile as she reached out a finger to gently touch the soft pink skin. Was it skin? She had never felt a Ditto before, she was so curious...
But she pulled back before quite touching him, eyes returning to Gabe, having left him for the first time since the conversation started. "Almost anything? Can he change his size, too, and keep the form he's taken? If so he could be a better road-block than my Polochon. Or...attendre, hang on," she stood straight up again and started walking back toward the hallway leading out of the living room, "Other idea, other idea, stay here."
Her lips were in a wide, bright smile, excitement fresh and growing on her face.
She glanced at Polochon before she turned around to go. "Ne le laisse rien prendre."
The look of surprise on Senara’s features had Gabe grinning a little more. The happy little Ditto just stared up at her with that signature expression as she drew closer. The mention of danger, however, earned a small chuckle. “It would only have been dangerous for her,” Gabe mused back. Despite being nothing but a hunk of cells all squished together, Gum was not defenseless— not in the least.
Gabe wasn’t exactly sure what Senara was saying but got the gist from tone if nothing else. Gum needed no translation. Senara’s tone was enough for it. As she reached a finger forward, it collapsed some cells around her touch becoming smooth and squishier than usual almost more like pudy than body— Oh But then she pulled back before she could pet it! Gum looked sad for a second, its signature smile falling. Gabe reached forward and pet it in Senara’s place, and the Ditto was happy again.
“It can, but it needs to see a Pokemon to be able to copy it; obviously it has all of my team already,” he commented. Copying a Snorlax wasn’t a bad idea, though. He blinked as she stood up fully and disappeared. Leaning around on the couch, he waited for her to return. For all he was, and all he wasn’t, Gabe didn’t actually move from the spot. His eyes flicked around taking in details of her living space, but he wasn’t actually that interested in much of her stuff, really. His goals were bigger than that, one could suppose.

"I'm sorry little one, I'll pet you in a second!"
Senara ducked down the hallway towards her office, and clicked the little notch on the side of the doorknob that unlocked it from the outside to go in. Compared to the fairly neat appearance of the living room and kitchen (save the papers on the table) her office was much more lived in. On the far side there was a small desk with a computer on it surrounded by stacks of books that had once been on the bookshelf not too far from it, but had been moved just for ease of access. Another desk--this one higher up, implying it was for standing at rather than sitting--had various stones and beakers and other tools for identifying the properties of what she found in the mines. Shattered shards lay about in collective piles of matching colors, and, although she had none at the moment, there was a small box for gems she might find as well.
It wasn't entirely organized but it was far from a disaster area.
What she went for, though, was a small series of box-shaped shelved across from the work desk that held a few jewelry boxes. Her best treasures weren't so out-in-the-open but she did have some of her favorites there, including one long black case meant for holding the items she'd come here looking for. She picked it up, opened it to inspect the items inside, then closed it. Then she picked up a pokeball decorated with black and yellow rhinestones from atop the shelf, a smirk curling over her lips. Just where she had left her. "JouJou, my dear," she spoke very, very softly, so that Gabe wouldn't be able to hear her from outside, "I am in need of your specific set of skills. Come on out."
A small beam of white light escaped the pokeball and landed on the shelf before her. As it dispersed it left behind a very small flying squirrel, colored black and white and yellow. JouJou the Emolga blinked her tiny eyes and looked up at Senara, a bright smile on her tiny face. Senara scratched under her chin with a finger. "There's a fellow on our couch that I want you to...frisk," she hummed, "No money, no jewels. I want you to find some sort of identification. A trainer ID would be perfect. Sneak it into the cushions, then hide yourself until they leave. J'ai besoin d'en savoir plus sur celui avec lequel je travaille."
JouJou squeaked in understanding, then jumped up onto Senara's shoulder, crawled to her back, and hid herself in the folds of her clothes until such a time that she could jump to another location. Senara drew in a slow breath, tucked the box under her arm, and emerged from the office with the same excited smile she'd left with. "Found them!"
She took a seat in front of Gabe and Gum on the floor, and set her box next to her. "Okay, so, you know already I do work in the mines. Specifically I'm a Mineralogist. But a lot of my work is actually in these." With one hand she undid the clasp on the box and popped it open. Inside it was lined with the evolutionary stones she had collected over her time in the mines; all of them in perfect condition, all of them absolutely lovely and kept polished until their inevitable use. She plucked one of her stones from the case--a Shiny stone, because it was very appropriate to use just to show off--and let it catch the light. "They're gorgeous, no? Don't get any ideas. But I've always wanted to see what Ditto's reaction to these is! I know they don't evolve, but if you have any forms of a 'mon that does evolve from them--like an Eevee or Jigglypuff or Vulpix--I'm dying to see what happens. When they transform their genetic structure mimics their own, so...if exposed to a stone meant to specifically alter that structure, what happens?"
Senara drew in another breath and her cheeks flushed a little red. Oh, dang it, she'd lost herself for a second there. Nerding out in front of them was...kind of embarrassing.
"...that, um, is if you're okay with just doing that for me, petite gomme. I will let you know that I give treats to any Pokemon that works with me. And," she looked behind Gum to Gabe, then downwards, still awkward. "I won't do so without your permission, of course."
From where she was sitting, JouJou was able to scuttle down from Senara's back and slip herself under the couch, unable to be seen by those sitting on it properly.
Gabe Alim WC: 795 This might count as improving her Profession? Or maybe the next post...hmm...
Gabe and Gum’s attention flicked back to Senara as she emerged from the room again. The box under her arm earned a curious look from Gabe and a simple vacant smile from Gum. As Senara started to show and tell her collection, Gabe found himself immediately going over what Pokemon he had that could use these. Murkrow, Graveler, Vulpix… Though even considering these, Gabe was reminded again why he hadn’t evolved them. Their movesets were bound to change on evolution, and he wanted to take his time with that. Still though…. If and when he did have the inclination, he knew where to look now.
Ah. This was some kind of science project to Senara, then. The color of her cheeks was… kind of cute, though. Gum blinked blankly at Senara but kept on smiling. It didn’t really understand what she was saying, but that was ok! “Hmmmm well…. “ Gabe chuckled leaning his head one way and the other. “If by chance you’d let me use your stones when I get around to evolving my other Pokemon, I suppose…” He glanced at Senara, waited for an answer, and then looked to Gum again.
“Gum, Crowlie’s form, please,” Gabe ask-ordered. The Ditto looked back at him and then hopped off his hand and onto the floor in front of Senara. A glow of pink and white came before turning black as the Ditto took on the Murkrow’s form. Standing there, it immediately tried to peck the shiny rocks— having also adopted some of Crowlie’s less wonderful mannerisms in the process.
Senara was a little uneasy about this strange little science experiment. Not because she though it would hurt the Ditto--no, he would be fine, the stones weren't dangerous in any way--but because Gabe might expect something from her for doing it. And that was fine in theory; she didn't like owing or being owed in general. But this was the same person who was planning a bank robbery and who had threatened to break every bone in her body. The same person who, right now, she was having her Emolga swipe the trainer ID from in order to get more information on them without their knowing. He was a danger. Sometimes that could be fun but in the case of owing somebody like that a favor...?
Bad.
But as he voiced what he hoped for in turn, she could breathe an internal sigh of relief. "That's fine. They're precious but their whole purpose is to be used. Goodness knows I won't find every Pokemon that evolves with them before you might," she shrugged and set the Shiny Stone back into the velvet lining of the box, "Just do your research before. Some of them change a great deal when they evolve...though I doubt you will need any reminding of that." A good trainer--even one who was a criminal--would be able to keep up with the information and lore surrounding Pokemon evolution, right?
Her eyes affixed to the Ditto as it began to change. Before the light even dispersed she came to recognize the shape of the "head" of the Pokemon it was turning into, and she let out a sudden gasp, hands flying to cover her mouth. When the light faded and an absolutely perfect Murkrow was left in the Ditto's place the shine in her eye was almost as bright as that reflected from the stones. "Y-Yo--you didn't tell me you had a Murkrow! After I told you they were my favorite and everything--l'as-tu attrapé avant la danse?!" Senara glared up at Gabe from over her hands, cheeks still flushed red. "Pas juste!!"
From his spot on the couch--still rolled up like sushi--Crepe peeked just so to see what his trainer was gushing about. He was glad Baby Girl wasn't out to see this--she was not fond of when her trainer saw Murkrows and got all squeaky and happy about them.
The jealousy was a little silly in his mind. Polochon, too, could not care less about any of this. He was too busy sleeping off the Poké Puff...underneath the dining room table.
Senara quickly took up a Dusk Stone from the box, holding it carefully in her hands. She had to remind herself over and over that this was a Ditto and not an actual Murkrow to keep from scooping the little bird up and hugging it tight. Not that she thought the silly little Gum wouldn't like it, but their trainer may not--and even if he didn't mind, he might never let her live it down. Composure. She was keeping composure. "Here, Gum. Put your beak on this, let's see if your copied genetic structure activates the Dusk stone..."
JouJou crawled up along the back of the couch and over the top of it, perched with her ears just sticking out behind Gabe's head, listening for the right chance to move in.
A soft sigh escaped from Gabe. That was the other reason he hesitated to evolve certain Pokemon, but he wasn’t about to voice that right then. Instead, he was suddenly reminded that ah right she did voice that Murkrow was one of her favorite Pokemon aside from Sableye. Heh. Well, he’d definitely say that choice of form was intentional then.
Gabe wasn’t sure what Senara was saying after that, but her tone was enough to earned a small chuckle. “I don’t have him with me, or I’d have you meet him in person,” he mused setting an elbow on the arm of the chair and resting his cheek in his fist.
The Dusk Stone was held forward, and Gum moved its beak over to rest on the stone. It lit for a moment! And then stopped again. Gum didn’t shine at all. Raising his head up, he stared at Senara after. “Krow?” A twitch one way, a twitch the other. Gum pecked it once, and still nothing.
“Hm, seems it didn’t do anything,” Gabe assessed after a few seconds. Maybe because Ditto’s genetic structure was only enough of a copy to copy— not evolve. It was… interesting to note either way. “Try Ignis’s form.”
The Ditto glowed and shifted into a Vulpix who now stared up at the woman with big round eyes. “Vul…” Gum’s eyes narrowed some, and its whole face seemed to look a little more stoic and disinterested— another characteristic it had picked up from a specific Pokemon.
Getting over the initial delight over having a Murkrow--even one that wasn't real--so near Senara settled into proper Evolutionary Stone Scientist mode, focusing as she raised the dusk stone to Gum's beak. For a moment the rock began to glow in her hand and her eyes went wide. So it was reacting to their genetic nature! Alas, the light faded and the stone returned to its normal state, and wouldn't do it again. Senara pursed her lips together but not quite in a frown or pout. She set the stone back into the box and quickly stood up to grab a notepad from the table, then returned to her spot kneeling alongside her collection. She began to take notes. "Well, it did react, even if nothing else of note happened...I wonder if they turned into a different Pokemon that evolves using a dusk stone if it would trigger again, or if it's now attuned to the Ditto itself to some extent..."
She set the notepad aside as the Ditto started to take a different shape, much to her momentary disappointment. She'd have to bother Gabe into introducing her to the real deal before the heist happened. Maybe. Or not. That would be weird. Ignis, as they called them, was a Vulpix, and from the look on Gum's face not a very friendly one at that. A snicker escaped her lips as she plucked a fire stone from the box. "So you have both a Charmander and a Vulpix? I hope they don't get too envious of one another."
JouJou slid down the couch cushion, using her wings to slow her fall so she didn't make a sound, and started peeking into Gabe's pockets on the left side for a wallet or ID.
Senara extended the fire stone for Gum to touch in some manner. As they did, the stone would once again light up in the same manner as if it were activating the evolutionary process, but in seconds it faded back to normal. She held it for a moment more before it joined its brethren in the velvet-lined box, then took some more notes. "Let's try one more with a different stone, then...hmm. Is he able to turn into Pokemon he's seen in books or pictures, or does it have to be in person? Or do you have another Pokemon that uses the same stones? Eevee, Pansear...Lampent, Doublade...what else is there..."
Gabe watched Senara moved and write with only some interest. His gaze flicked to Gum who was looking at him now unsure of what it was supposed to do next. Gabe shrugged, and Gum looked back at Senara again. What a strange human.
A soft snort escaped from Gabe at the question. “I have a Charmander, Charizard, Vulpix, Litwick, Litleo, and a flame Marowak,” he answered. “I’ll get more eventually.” That dangerous look flicked into Gabe’s eyes again for only a second before disappearing again. Sitting back on the couch, he nearly squished JouJou without registering the difference in pressure. Gum glanced sideways at him and watched the strange Emolga with big wide eyes for a moment.
“Not from books or photographs,” Gabe answered taking the last sip of his water. “I have a Graveler, but that requires that link cable or whatever rather than a stone, I think.” Pokemon evolutions were so weird sometimes. “Mmmmm….I have a Jolteon but Gum has never seen it as an Eevee….” And Litwick was still a Litwick, not a Lapent. And that Doublade he had was too new to have shown to Gum. “I don’t think I have anything else.”

"Well aren't you the most precocious little pyromaniac I've ever seen," Senara teased, quite unaware how accurate her statement might have been as she was taking notes and missed the look Gabe gave. Was she actually more comfortable with them around or was it just faking it so that JouJou could do her job? The latter. Definitely the latter. But experiment was legit even if the feelings behind it weren't, so that's all that matters.
Right?
Without other Pokemon to directly test the stones with she closed it and stood back up, patting Crepe as she went to put it and her notepad back onto the messy paper-strewn table. "Tant pis. Can't ask him to do more than he's able to, but if he gets more forms of Pokemon who can evolve, it'd be great to have another go with that...especially if it's an Eevee, I've wanted to see how many stones would react to a single Eevee's genetic code and how exposure to all at once might affect them, but they're hard to catch here."
JouJou wound up squished into the couch a little, paws already in Gabe's coat pocket, and squeezed her eyes shut in a little bit of pain before she managed to wriggle free and dive her whole torso-and-up into the pocket. Was it in this one? Or the other side?
"Do you want more water? Or have changed your mind on food?" Senara plucked a blue-wrapped candy from the table and unceremoniously threw it under-handed at Gabe. "Also, catch! That's your treat for working with me, Gum~ Don't let him give it to anybody else now!" She then hovered near-by in case Gabe asked for her to refill his glass or get them something else, her hands behind her back. Something finally clicked in her head. "Wait, you have a Charmander and a Charizard? Did you starter evolve or have a baby? Or is this...just a completely unrelated happenstance Charizard."
What kind of weird luck must this person have if it was the latter.
But I don't actually care. I just need to keep them distracted until JouJou is done...
Ppfffftftft. A laugh broke from Gabe. He wasn’t sure if it was Senara’s tone or what exactly, but that was funny. Maybe because I am… Definitely because he was. He settled again quickly enough, though.
Gum smiled a little still not entirely processing anything fully. It looked from Senara to Gabe to the couch in general and then up to Gabe again as its human caught the candy. Oohh. Gabe, meanwhile, had shifted upright to grab the item and subsequently leaned off the couch. JouJou would find that the right side was indeed the correct side to be searching on, but what she would also grab from the awkward bill fold was not one but two ‘trainer’s licenses’ each with an identical picture but wildly different information.
The first said he was Gabe L. Kempler, age: twenty-one, gender: male, from Ivy Town. It had a somewhat younger looking picture of him with his hair only to his shoulders and a weird expression on his face. This one said he had a Bass City badge. The second said he was Gabe L. Alim, age: nineteen, gender: NB, from Bass City. This one had an older looking Gabe in it though his hair was tied back and harder to see. This one said he had a contest ribbon. Each card had the official seal of Bass but had two different trainer numbers and barcode types.
“Mmm do you want it now Gum or later?” Gabe asked. Gum blinked out of its staring trance and then gave a small shrug. Gabe nodded and pocketed the candy for now. “I will take a Pokepuff actually…” Gabe turned to Senara. Gum perked up a little at that, and Gabe snorted at it. “Yes I’ll share.” The Ditto smiled warmly. Picky eater…
Senara’s question, though, had Gabe blinking a couple of times before smirking a bit. “I caught a fully evolved Charizrad out on Route 6,” he answered. “He’s not nearly as in synch with me as Lizbeth is, but he does have flight training.” Which was helpful when getting around to various places now even though he still preferred his bike. “If you need a lift to Plum, let me know.” Heh.

Huh, getting them to laugh was something she'd take some pride in, if only because it might have meant she'd hit a nail on the head. There was no way one or another to be sure Gabe wasn't a pyromaniac but...well, apparently he just really liked Fire types. She wasn't one to judge with her love of Dark and Steel, but he had a freaking menagerie of them. She would only have a couple of either and try to keep things otherwise balanced. The only trainers who would go full mono-type were gym leaders or completely crazy.
Which in all fairness he did seem to fit the latter. So.
JouJou looked between the two IDs with a confused little frown. She hadn't gotten too good a look at the person but their hair was pretty long from what she had seen. Then should she go with the older looking one? But her trainer looked so small, too, and she was a lot older than she looked. Oohh, if only she understood numbers, this would be so much easier! Going on pure instinct she pulled the ID with the older looking picture from the wallet, leaving the other behind, and rolled herself out as he shifted in place. She landed with a small squeak on the couch seat, then, with tiny paws, pushed the cushions apart and slipped inside with her stolen treasure. She had a lot of room in the couch cracks but it wasn't very comfortable...she'd need to find a way to move herself.
"A Poké Puff coming up. Do you have a flavor preference?" Senara walked around to the kitchen again. "I've got orange, strawberry, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate. For some reason I can't keep the macha ones in stock for too long..." She glanced over the open fridge door to glare little daggers at Polochon, still asleep yet still smiling smugly.
JouJou began to wriggle herself toward the very corner of the couch on the side Crepe was still curled up on. If she could get through all the way she could probably pop out without being seen, but if Crepe made a big deal out of her appearing out of nowhere...
...and he had a bad habit of making big deals out of nothing.
Senara pulled out the packaged Poké Puff of Gabe's choice, as well as a milk chocolate one for herself, and opened them and plated them to bring over to the couch. Her brow knit together for a moment in thought or in unease. "That's...might be necessary. I've gone too and from Birch before no problem, but I haven't been past there. Haven't had much reason to until now. But I could probably surf Crepe here to Cherry and go backwards if I have to." She took her puff off the plate and handed the other to Gabe, "Is it, um...I mean, how well trained is the Charizard. I've heard a lot about how unruly they can be towards strangers. I don't want to get bucked off half-way over the ocean."
Hah… Gabe’s eyes trailed sideways to the sleeping Snorlax, and a small amused note came and went from Gabe. “Mmmmm chocolate,” Gabe decided aloud before shrugging his shoulders. He didn’t mind orange or strawberry, but when pressed to make a decision, everything would always go back to chocolate. And he was cool with that.
“Ah, I wouldn’t suggest surfing between Cedar and Cherry… it’s got a ship wreck that’s haunted,” Gabe answered with a strange level of… discomfort. “It’s better to surf from Bass to Plum.”
Taking the plated Pokepuff, Gabe set it on his lap before immediately breaking it into a few biteable pieces. Gum went slithering up over to him and kind of fell out of its shifted Vulpix form just to really lay in all those pink cells against his legs. Gabe eyeballed it before smirking and offering a piece down to it. The Ditto ate happily. Gabe smiled softly very briefly rubbing the mesh of cells before looking up to pay attention to Senara.
“He’s trained,” he reemphasized. “But you might want to meet him before trying a long flight….” A small smirk came to Gabe’s features before falling again. “If you’re up for it.”
"Ooohh? Haunted how?" Senara wasn't sure what face she was making, but she knew there was a brilliantly wide smile on it at the mention of something spooky. For all her love of Steel types she had picked Baby Girl as her starter for a reason--and not just because she resembled the jewels and gemstones she loved so much! Sableye were known as spirits that could steal the souls of onlookers if their eyes met. Like many of the world's Ghost type Pokemon those sorts of tales alienated them from the squeamish masses, but not to Senara. She loved the spooky stories, she loved the wicked rumors. Even if she knew they were wrong they were still so much fun to listen to! So Gabe may not have had too fond a recollection of this haunted wreck, she was very interested.
She took a bite of the Poké Puff, relieved that she'd already fed Polochon and that he wasn't trying to beg another bite (read: the whole thing) from her. The chocolate was so good, even if it wasn't as perfect as those she'd had made fresh in Kalos. Ah, it was one of the few things that made her somewhat homesick. Maybe there was a cafe that had them in Plum. It was a big city, right? There had to be specialty shops like that in there.
Her lips pulled into a grimace--slightly more exaggerated than was necessary. Was she up for it? For flying on the back of a Charizard? Hell, for flying on the back of his damn Charizard? What if he knocked her off on purpose? Would he do that?...would he?
I don't want to look weak in front of him.
If I turn them down, they'll see me as scared. That's the same as weak.
With a small nod she swallowed. "I'd be up for it. And for meeting him in advance just to, ahem, lessen the odds of me getting burned or the like. It'll also been good to have him know me in case we need to make a quick exit...which speaking of," Senara tilted her head, fingers playing with the square of chocolate atop the pastry. "You failed to say just how we will get out of Plum with all that we've taken from the bank. Just taking the armored car is going to be too obvious. What's your plan for the aftermath?"
Of course Senara had to be one of those people. Gabe bit the inside of his mouth to keep from scowling. Shrugging his shoulders, he glanced forward and pat Gum. “Look it up sometime, there’s a little historical museum dedicated to it in Cedar Town,” He answered. “I don’t remember all the details now.” Nor did he particularly want to.
Gabe was very happy to watch Senara’s features pull into an exaggerated grimace at the mention of meeting Reptar. Oh now I have to have him scare her… No, no he didn’t. She was his accomplice for this, he reminded himself. Maybe after… Yes, maybe then. “We can set up some time for flight work then,” he nodded.
Ah— Gabe smirked a little. “Plum has a very expansive sewage system,” he answered. “Possibly the largest in all of Arciel, and they lead out all the way to the end of the island. I’m working on a map of it right now. Gum knows both Blastoise’s and Lapras’s forms, so if need be we can surf through it.” Gum seemed to startle and looked at Gabe. “Ah no don’t transform in here.” Oh, ok.

Aw, they didn't have more information to share--or they did, and weren't going to give it to her for some reason. "Fine, fine, it's not super relevant. I can't waste a day on that if we've got a tight schedule to keep," her grin lessened, but she giggled softly before she added, "Who knows, if it's an old enough ship, maybe they're treasure there, too~" And if there wasn't and it was just full of ghosts or even scarier, it would still be worth a look. Why was the thought of a haunted sunken wreck "fun" to her, but not the idea of flight?
Well, people flew all the time these days if they had the right Pokemon for it. And maybe she just had weird taste in what was worth her adrenaline rush and what wasn't. Senara ripped the chocolate square from the frosting and popped it into her mouth in one bite.
Sewers? Her brow knit together, pensively. Large enough to surf through if need be? That's a bit excessive. But Plum's on an island--maybe they need that in case of a storm for draining purposes? Bleh, I work best in natural caves, not man-made tunnels...
"If that's the case maybe I should bring Crepe, just to be on the safe side. Is that your Blastoise he has the form of? And you have a Charmander and a Venasaur as well..." Senara sighed wistfully and placed a palm to her cheek, looking so very disappointed for a moment for drama's sake. "I'm starting to think your ridiculous luck is how you caught me, and not any fault of my own! But I suppose I can't complain too much about that, if I'm going to be working alongside you in this. That luck may come quite in handy."
JouJou's little ears peeked out from the crack of the couch behind Crepe's head. His attention was still on the stranger, anxiety keeping him from moving or taking his eyes off them, so she was in the clear! She left the ID hidden directly beneath the Mantine's spot and pushed herself out of the cushions and over the arm as quickly as she could, once again freed from being squished in the couch. Senara noticed a blur of black but didn't turn her attention towards it. Did she already get it? What a quick and clever baby~
"Oh, I suppose we should trade contact information so we can keep up on this venture."
