(discovery - make it hectic mods! <3)
Adelaide hated winter, with a passion. It was always colder than usual where she used to live, by the sea. And more often than not they'd have sailors coming over to stay at their house when the current became too strong to handle, which usually meant Addy had to perform for them. It was so many people- and she was constantly petrified that they were going go to the reporters about how bad of a singer she was- thank mew that never happened but... winter in general was a stressful period.
This was her first winter in Arciel, and she was only hoping that it'd be different, a time to just relax, stay indoors and practice with her mons for whatever upcoming contest there was. Today was supposed to be one of those days, but Lupine, her Bagon had been restless and refused to cooperate- and the only way she knew to calm him down was to take him out down route one to blow off some energy. That, obviously, meant she spent two hours in the bathroom before going out putting on makeup, curling her hair, ensuring her outfit looked presentable- she didn't want to see any reports about the homeless girl walking the streets- the wannabe coordinator who was really a fashion disaster- really- it was better this way.
Of course, she also brought her huge Bayleef, Primrose. Prim always knew how to calm her Bagon down, and if she was lucky people would see Prim and be too scared to come up to her, or to start any drama. Adelaide didn't know if she'd be able to last in a conversation, she'd seen it happen time and time again in this region, where a simple introduction left to her stumbling over her words, in tears, barely able to choke out a proper sentence without being fearful of people judging her.
Really, with Prim it was different. It was good. There had been... something a little off about route one today, though. But she couldn't put her finger on it. She was here hoping that it was just her overthinking again- because nothing could go wrong, right?! Walking down the path of route one, she'd been quietly chatting with her pokemon, oblivious to the world around her.
"H-Hey... Lupine, you see these flowers?" She moved to gesture to a small bush they were passing, nudging the stems with her foot. The Bagon let out a curious noise, moving closer just to shove his nose right into the bush. Pulling back with a startled gasp at the weird feeling he let out a huff, and tried once more, sniffing at the flowers before letting out an excited noise- they were cute! "Do you want m-me to... grab some t-to put in the little pot at home?"
A cheer left his mouth and Addy bent down, moving to gently pluck them before pushing them behind her ear for safe keeping. Primrose stayed behind the duo, though she was on the lookout for any threats to the young girls safety, any strangers who might come up to her. She was hesitant when it came to people approaching Adelaide, especially when she'd seen what happened last time.
