A soft sigh escaped from Gabe as he stared out at the water before him. He really had no business taking the ferry to Ivy Town when so he had so many other things to do, but he promised himself it was just for a couple of hours. He’d walk around, look at some stuff, maybe fiddle with a few fossils he’d picked up, and then go home. It would be good to get out. But he was feeling really drained. Really drained.
Another soft sigh escaped from him— this one truncated as a large warm body lay herself up on him “Liz… don’t try… my shoulders still hurt from the last time…” Gabe mumbled. A huff escaped from the Charmeleon before she snorted softly unoffended. She was six foot now and far too big to be riding on him. Still, that meant she could drape over him now and be an even warmer if not fuzzy mass of scales and comfort. Gabe grumbled something and just let her squish him a little more. It was the least either of them could do.
“Mmmmm go make yourself useful ‘n get me some hot chocolate from the hull,” Gabe swatted. The Charmeleon grumbled but eased off him just as the ferry started to pull away. Walking down passed the numerous humans that were also on the ferry, she was about to head down into said hull when she bumped into someone very… very familiar.
For a moment, Lizbeth couldn’t believe it. She stared in utter disbelief for a solid second before something violent and feral ripped through her. Suddenly seizing the source of all Gabe’s sadness, lately, she threw her hard up against the ship wall and roared right in her face.
Sequins. Sebastian had said that they needed a solid kilogram of sequins for the latest little spinners Christmas concert, and apparently it was Arietta's job to go all the way to their supplier in ivy town to pick them up. As much as she hated the idea of going all the way over on a ferry, it gave her time to relax, it was probably one of the least taxing things she could have done! Besides, she could even purchase some sequins for her idol girls too for new costumes and stuff, you never know when you're gonna need them, after all!
She'd been curled up in one of the outdoor chairs, headphones plugged in and the latest edition of pikateen weekly open at her lap- she was more than excited, this had her three page spread, after all! She could only hope her PR team had managed to quell any rumors that may have started from the... incident that happened before anything could come of it. Fi-Fi and Calando had been along for the ride, the huge alolan raichu curled up in the chair next to her, while Fëanor was more than happy to be perched by Arietta's side, looking at the pretty pictures in the magazine.
As she continued reading however Arietta's eyes grew wide- had her PR team not looked over the article?! Not only was half her team neglected to be mentioned and half the shots that she'd confirmed herself scrapped, but there was mention of Gabe- of course there fucking was. The girls nose scrunched up in frustration and she moved to push the magazine back into her bag, arceus help her, they paid good money to this team and they...
She was going to have a word with them. The girl stood up, moving to grab her phone and cycle through the contacts, "Cal, Fi, we're gonna go somewhere a lil' quieter so I can have this call, yeah?" she began moving, only hoping that the two pokemon followed as she searched for the name of the PR head- only to bump right into something solid.
A noise left Arietta's mouth and she went to take a step back and look up, she'd accidentally bumped into somebody! "Oh, i'm so-" it was a Charmeleon. A Charmeleon who looked angry, and before she could even register what was happening a startled cry left her mouth as she was thrown right into the ship wall, a loud, ferocious growl leaving the huge pokemons mouth..
Arceus fuck what the fuck what the actual fuck- Arietta was in pain, but all she could think about was how this pokemon looked like it could kill her at any given second. A choked sob left her lips and tears pricked at her eyes, she attempted to push at the Charmeleon, "I-I didn't mean to... to bump into you- i'm..."
Arietta's pokemon could do nothing but watch. Calando had attempted to grab at the Charmeleons tail to get her away, while Fi just panicked and cried softly. Seeing what she was doing was doing nothing, a strangled yell left Arietta's lips, "HELP!"
People on the ferry were freaking out. There of course had been witnesses to see the Charmeleon slam the girl into the wall, and a few startled cries escaped from various individuals as a result. Numerous people were walking and talking and hesitating with such a large Charmeleon there doing who knew what—
Liz didn’t hear them, though. Liz was too angry to hear them. < You stupid, wrenched, horrible, awful, mean spirited, filthy, rotten, good for nothing, hateful human being> she was snarling out in her own tongue, her maw filling with smoke from the fires deep in her belly threatening to spew forth. <Do you know what you did? Did you know what you did to him? I’ll rip you to pieces. I’ll make you wish you had never been born.> The claw around Ara’s throat clenched tighter even as she called for help.
“LIZBETH!” Gabe’s voice had the Charmelon freezing or a moment, and very briefly her grip on Ara relaxed just a little. She looked sideways to find Gabe standing there eyes wide lips parted. Gabe had come with the yelling only once someone had said there was a Charmelon in the fray and now that he was there… “Lizbeth… let go….”
No. She wouldn’t. She wouldn’t, Gabe. This girl had done so much damage to you, Gabe. Lizbeth looked back and met Ara’s gaze right before her maw snapped less than a centimeter from it. <I could do so much to you>
The pokemon's grip tightened over her throat and for a few solid seconds she struggled to rasp a breath out, eyes wide and attempting to squirm away- which really did more damage than good. The pokemon was snarling and spitting and practically screeching at her, and she didn't understand?! All she could do was silently cry and struggle. What had she done, why was it so angry- she'd just bumped into it and it was going to kill her- she was going to die before the christmas concer-
A loud voice broke into her ears and Arietta started shaking, Lizbeth... Liz.. that- she remembered the name, the tiny Charizard... this... this was... Gabe's. As the Charmeleon's grasp lightened a loud, hacking cough left Arietta's lips as she attempted to suck in air, moving once more to try push at the Charmeleon. Calando had given up trying to grab Charmeleon's tail, instead attempting to use nuzzle on the Charmeleon to get it to stop! Fi just kept crying, however his attention was on Gabe.
Arietta was terrified, especially after the snap that left her practically balling, shaking like a leaf. She opened her mouth and attempted to speak, a soft whimper of, "P-Please let go..." leaving her lips,
Liz was unaware of Cal or even Fi. Her attention kept flickering from Ara to Gabe and then back again. Gabe, you idiot, just let her do this. Let her do this for you before— Liz’s maw was smoking again and she took in a deep breath. The flame on her tail burst with power, and it was clear she was about to spit flames right at Ara. Burn her to a crisp!
Just as he was about to release the flames, though, Gabe lunged tackling her sideways and causing her to flinch and stagger, releasing Ara very briefly and falling right over sideways. The Charmeleon snarled, scrambled, and fought. Her claws cut into Gabe’s clothes and more importantly his skin. “Lizbeth, Lizbeth stop… Lizbeth!” Gabe’s voice was yelling, but the Charmeleon was yelling back louder. They rolled and hit the railing, and a sharp gasp left Gabe as he was slammed into the side of it. “Enough, Liz, Enough… Lizbeth… Lizard…” He was holding tighter to her now, and finally the Charmeleon let out a different sound— a sob. She stopped fighting and just… started crying.
The pokemon was taking in a breath, oh arceus oh fuck she was- Arietta was actually going to die?! On a ferry on the way to her personal hell- just like she'd always wanted, obviously. "No...nonono..." She could smell the Charmeleons smoke and struggled once more, eyes wide, desperate- and then she felt her grip loosen more as the Charmeleon was tackled sideways. "fUCK-" It took Arietta all of a second to move, bolting away a few paces before collapsing back against a wall, heaving for breath and hands at her eyes. Calando and Fi practically rushed over, cries leaving their lips as they attempted to get her attention, but she was too busy shaking over what could have been.
Some people were crowding, witnesses, but Arietta didn't move or say anything, just fought to regain her breath and choked out a few weak sobs- why... Gabe's... she couldn't comprehend it, she could have just- that... Her eyes flicked open, and her hand ghosted over her throat, wincing softly. Fuck. Fuck it all. Eyes flicked to the Charmeleon, who... Gabe was holding. She wasn't trying to kill her now- she... was sad.
Gabe. How did she forget- Gabe. Why was Gabe here, why had his mon- had Gabe set his mon at her- but why?! They were never supposed to speak again, or see each other again, it didn't make sense. She gulped, and gently rested a hand of Calando's head. "...i'm...i'm fine..."
She glanced to a concerned person and attempted a smile, blinking back more tears, "I'm fine." They were in public. This was, there were people everywhere. People could have taken pictures- she didn't need that spread around, she didn't need rumours- gulping back a hiccuped sob she straightened herself. Eyes flicking to Gabe, then back to the people... Her head was fuzzy, she didn't know what to do, how to handle this. "...scuse me..."
Fuck this- fuck everything. A soft noise left her lips and she turned, fleeing to the upper deck of the ferry. Being near that Charmeleon- she didn't think she'd be able to look at it without shaking right now, she had to breathe, she had to think-
And she didn't even want to start dwelling on... on what had happened- on why Gabe was... on... She crumpled herself up in one of the chairs in the upper deck, grabbing at her bag for some water, and practically choking the whole thing down.
Fuck. This.
She hadn't even noticed Fi wasn't with her- the Fire type wasn't happy, he was angry. The litwick, instead of following Ari had hobbled over to where Gabe and Liz was, and a series and loud, accusing cries left his mouth, his tiny arms outstretched before pointing to Gabe, mainly about him trying to kill her.
A snarl broke from Lizbeth. She’d kill Fi next if he didn’t silence like the wretch he was attached to. Gabe, however, had grabbed around her neck and pulled her entire head back in just holding her tight to himself now. She gripped into him, angry, frustrated. Gabe just held her, petting her gently. “Lizbeth, breathe… it’s fine… you’re ok….”
The sound of feet had Gabe looking up to find a stern man looking down at him. “You know you could be in serious trouble, young man. A trainer’s job is to control their Pokemon…”
“It’s a Charmeleon, Rob, you know how ornery they get after evolving…”
“Still, he shouldn’t have had it out in the first place if that’s the case! We could all have been in danger!”
“…. I apologize…” Gabe muttered. Shifting Lizbeth some, he fished out her Pokeball and returned her, much to her immediate chagrin. “She’s only recently evolved and… has some anger issues…”
“But still attacking a human— that’s something wild Pokemon tend to do…”
People were talking. Gabe rubbed his face. Reaching back to the space in his mind for the psychic power that lay deep inside, he pushed it outwards. “Please forgive me, I won’t let her out on the boat again. I’ll… go check on the girl and make sure she was ok….” He pushed with as much psychic force as he could, and slowly those around him settled. Slowly getting up, Gabe managed to elbow his way through to find Ara.
Fi attempted to let out his own threatening noise in response but it was just a tiny squeak. After seeing that the trainer was attempting to calm down the Charmeleon however eventually the Litwick gave up and began hobbling around, searching for his trainer. Eventually he found her, curled up in the upper deck, empty bottle scrunched at her side with Calando warily squeaking at her, tail flicking back and forth, concerned. The litwick quickly hopped onto the seat next to her, settling in with an unimpressed look on his face.
Arietta's hands pushed through her hair as she mumbled softly to herself, combing, combing. That was a soothing motion, right? "....s-she was trying to kill me, right, cal?" her eyes flicked down to the Raichu, who let out a loud squeak in response, his little nose twitching. "...she was..."
She pushed her knees up to her chest now, hugging around them. She hadn't stopped shaking, but who would?! What had she even done- what if the Charmeleon came back? Was it because she saw Gabe again after she said bye for the last time? Had she found out about Senara and wanted to kill Arietta because of ruining Gabe's happiness?
The girl sniffled, a hand moving to rest at the side of her neck to test how sensitive it was, wincing slightly. She barely registered the footsteps approaching, only opening her eyes at Calando's loud, terrified squeak. The pokemon's tail rapidly flicked side to side, and he looked between Gabe and Arietta, unsure what to do. The Litwick, however let out another warning noise, eyes narrowing.
Arietta only blinked, a strained sob leaving her lips as she curled further into herself. "...H-Here to finish the job?"
Gabe was… totally not shaking. He was not shaking one bit, nope. He shoved his hands in his pockets as he walked up the steps. He’d already checked the lower ones so now what was left was up here. They were on a boat, and she didn’t have any Flying Pokemon strong enough that he knew of to get her off. There were only so many places to go.
Ah. There she was. As the Pokemon tensed, he knew she was around, and sure enough he caught sight of her a moment later. As she looked up at him and then immediately curled over herself again, Gabe grimaced. The question, though, could have stabbed him. “I….” his voice died in his throat. He should just walk out of there and fly off on Reptar right then and there. There was no reason to talk to her, and being this close was only going to antagonize them both. But still. “I didn’t order Liz to do that. She’s just upset.” His breath hitched, but he forced himself to speak. “I didn’t even know you were here.”
The girl didn't move from her position, not as he spoke, and not after. Her main focus was keeping her breathing steady, which was sorta difficult with her face pressed to her knees. Liz was just upset- upset at what? Her bumping into her? Upset enough to pin her again a wall, attempt to choke her out and probably almost use a move on her. Arietta twitched, and swallowed spit. "...Why... was she u-upset?" she mumbled out, peeling her face back slightly from her knees to stare up at Gabe, eyes wet.
"...Upset enough to want to kill me?" her grip around her knees tightened then loosened, and she ripped her gaze away from Gabe's, suddenly angry. A long breath left her and she eventually pushed her feet off the seat, coughing slightly. "B-Because that's what she wanted, right? In public- i'm sure they have photos now, on top of... the fucking PR mess that's the stupid magazine."
A hand moved back to her hair, smoothing through it, eyes squeeezing shut as another labored breath left her lips, and eventually she spoke again, voice annoyed, angry almost. She was confused, and shecould feel the soreness in her throat flare up. "You wouldn't want me dead- you just don't wanna see me ever again is all- because you gotta move on." Fi let out a squeak, moving quickly under the armrest to rest in Ari's lap, little flame flickering slightly. Arietta wanted to say more, but she just couldn't manage it, instead her hand worked through the knots in her hair, eyes blinking back more tears and sniffling. She should... probably ask for an apology, but what would that do? "S...o go on, Gabe. Move on."
As Ara’s eyes raised to meet his, Gabe glanced away. Why was Liz upset? He knew why because she’d beaten him up about it just a day or two ago now. He knew the moment he looked in her eyes. But saying that then….
He didn’t have to. Ara kept going. They have photos now. Of course, of course, of course Ara was worried about public appearance. She was an idol condoned and condemned by the wills of the public. The words that came after that had him flinching.
“……” A hand reached up to feel over his hair slowly. Tell her about what you did… weaponize it. Make her feel worse and worse and worse until— Until what? Until both of them crumbled under the force of this? Until Liz did something to get herself killed or otherwise. “Since evolving… she’s kind of …. Struggled with control. And she knows what I told her about you. She’s just upset and can’t really control that anymore,” Gabe sighed. “So … sorry for that; we’ll work on it. Her and I will.”
So it's an evolution thing, Arietta could have snorted if she hadn't been so upset. Of course it was. His pokemon had tried to kill her because he'd told her some bullshit about her and got her so worked up that a public execution was in order the second she was seen. "...kay." was all she managed out. Her hands eventually let go of her hair and folded in her lap, gently rubbing Fi's side, who was giving Gabe a mighty stare down. Cal was just chilling by her feet, curious now that he saw no ill intent.
She wasn't going to accept the apology, she'd almost died! And her throat- her concert- that was... a few days from now- would she still be able to sing?! She moved now, to grab her phone, twisting slightly and wincing at the slight pain in her back. Her phone was pulled out and she shuffled through her contacts, hiccuping slightly and messaging the PR team to arrange a meeting- just to do something.
Though obviously, Arietta would rather die than sit in silence. A typing finger twitched and then her gaze rose again. "...y-you didn't have to follow me up here, Gabe." She sniffled again then a faint smile broke onto her face, it didn't reach her eyes. "I... don't need your apology, okay?" She moved to shift her phone away, the meeting to the PR team organised. "You're finally happy, with Senara, and then I come along- i'd choke myself out too, to be honest- because who ruins that?"
Fingers drummed on her thigh, awkward, she wasn't sniffling anymore but her voice was definitely hoarse. Senara. His girlfriend. The person he was supposed to love- fuck he shouldn't even be up here right now, she wasn't supposed to speak to him without Senara, he was supposed to never speak to her again, because that was going to help him- help him not say anything. Her fake smile quickly died down and she shook her head "You've checked up on me, i'm fine, you've done your moral duty or whatever, you can just go now." This was fine.
Arietta coughed and her hands hugged around her chest now, forcing back out that perfect idol smile. "W-Without a goodbye, probably- Besides, who wants to say a final goodbye for the third time? You're just... making things harder for yourself here, Gabe, really. I'm fine, everythings fine~ enjoy the weather, sunbake, or something..."
What was Ara doing? Typing on her phone. To who? Gabe’s hand reached to Liz’s Pokeball, but as it rattled with force back at him, he realized she was fighting to get out. She wasn’t done and wouldn’t be. She was so angry. If her Pokeball could scorch with her fires, he had no doubt he would feel it. And he didn’t blame her— not one bit.
The words that hit the air had him blinking. Finally happy with Senara— Again he remembered that she had apparently gone to the studio— But no what— Long distance internet boyfriend. “….” Arceus damn it; he was suddenly so filled with anger but also drained of everything. What was he supposed to say to that— He couldn’t even really defend or negate whatever Senara had said without sounding worse now.
Well. Fine then. “I was willing to break up with Senara for you,” he stated. I was willing to not involve her in this stupid heist to begin with. “And even after that….I knew she was a good partner” –In crime— “But when we danced it was different.”Very different. A small, frustrated noise came and went from him. Gabe stepped back and turned around. “You’ve already heard the ‘you ruined my life’ bit, so I won’t rehash that. Whatever, Ara.” And suddenly he was moving headed for the stairs now.
There was a soft noise from below her and she'd noticed Calando attempt to worm his way up onto the chair, eventually having to balance onto his tail to hover up and against her side. The girl absently unclutched her hands from her chest and pet the Raichu, her expression deflating. She was hearing Gabe talk, but all it did was make her eyes water more. "...break up with her and leave her crying, abandoned in the middle of a place she's unfamiliar with, for somebody you did the exact same thing with..." Arietta probably was going to bring that up everytime, it's not a given. "...Arceus fucking... d-damn it Gabe." She attempted to raise her voice but it only cracked and she flinched, despite herself.
"I'm soo sorry that I ruined your life." She managed out, her gaze on his back for a moment, "But that doesn't give you... a fucking right to ruin other peoples..." Her hands rubbed at the Raichu's ears and she coughed, fuck that Charmeleon had done a number on her. She moved to go back to her bag now, attempting to find another water, another soft cough leaving her lips.
"Ruining lives is apparently.. a two way fucking street- or did you forget that. You need to stop thinking like this or... or you're just going to make it harder for yourself to move on." Fuck it, there was no water. Another cough and the girl was covering her mouth, she had to stop talking- but she was getting defensive- why couldn't he just leave silently like in the fucking movies?
Arecus she hoped she was able to sing tommorow. She attempting to cover up her coughing fit, in the hopes Gabe wouldn't hear and would dissapear down the stairs and live the best life he possibly could with Senara, because right now she shouldn't even be on his mind-
She didn't want him to hurt Senara. The girl was so naive- she really thought he was an amazing person incapable of hurting people, and she was open to changing how her whole relationship worked... for him- fuck the girl was so in love, and here Arietta was, clear as the day sticking a fork in the toaster.
“…..” Gabe had stopped walking. Ara was…. Fucking Ara was going to cut into that lie too? Ruining lives is a two way street? Hah??? If she only knew. But there was no way that Gabe was going to let her in on that little secret. Not at all.
A low voice slowly escaped from Gabe, intentionally unemotive. He was reaching back for that power in the back of his mind again, balling it up into a fist in his chest, and releasing it like a plague into the room. “Go to hell, Ara,” was the psychicly driven response. His voice was calm, almost monotone, but that probably didn’t matter compared to whatever feeling was forced up by that ‘order’. “I don’t know why I’m killing myself over you.” And with that, he was walking towards the stairs again.
Masking her coughing, she hadn't expected anything back, or to really hear anything for him. Fi had moved to hop up onto the armrest to give Cal more room to snuggle into Arietta while the girl struggled to suck in desperate breaths- every one hurt more than the last. She'd have to go downstairs soon, downstairs and... get them to delete pictures and stop from posting things- she didn't need any more uncontrolled rumours, she didn't need any more mess-
The girl visibly froze as his voice rung out, eyes wide. A choked cough left her mouth amidst her mind attempting to process his words, turning... for a moment time stood still- and then a choked laugh left her lips, a giggle. "T-To hell?" A few more coughs left her lips, "Good thing i'm already on my way there- ivy town, remember?" he was going, and leaving, and yet the enivtable would occur sooner or later. They were sharing the same, space in the same vehicle.
She couldn't help but shake now. Yeah- going to hell. Her own hell. Where she was stranded, left alone, terrified, trembling, Her heart shattered in a million pieces. Where she had no way of contacting anybody, no money, because for one second, one moment she was willing to risk it all for him- him who when she showed hesitance threw her down, cussed out and ruined everything she'd ever loved and left her stripped of her safety blanket.
Ivy town, the one place she couldn't travel to for years- she'd only just gotten over not being able to go there, been able to face that it was just another town. Maybe it made it more hellish knowing that he was going to be there. She coughed once more, sleeve going up to press into her mouth, she didn't move, but Fi was furious- nobody spoke to Arietta that way! He probably would have chased after Gabe too, if the girl didn't look so petrified.
"...You're still stuck there too..." She didn't care that he probably couldn't hear her, she'd finally managed to breath easier, to stop shaking. "I forced myself to get over you- i'm... i'm not letting myself get stuck there every again- tell me to go to hell, say you're killing yourself over me- but at the end of the day you left me, you don't get to have me back now, you don't get to love me."
She was talking to herself now, basically. As if she was trying to rationlise her thoughts, to go through things in her head. She'd never be able to say these things out loud again- so why not say them now. "...and yet I tried to fucking help you- the thanks I get is... almost getting killed, getting cussed out, left again..." She'd tried to help, Jenga- remember? Her hand moved to her neck, which she gently began to rub.
"Funny for how a second I was going to say it back- because i'd forgotten- how could I forget?" She leaned back against her chair, eyes closing and sniffling softly. Her hand moved to gently pat Cal again, "...Fucking... ivy town."
The choked laugh had Gabe freezing all over again. Looking over his shoulder, he frowned at Ara. Ivy Town, remember? He remembered. He remembered just fine. But unlike Ara, Gabe didn’t find the location damning in the same way. Perhaps it was because he had to struggle after, not be pampered and build up the traumatic experience that she kept throwing in his face.
Stuck here— No, stuck there she said. Stuck saying those things. Stuck feeling those things. Stuck stuck stuck because she was the one who broke second. Because she was the one who could make that choice. Tried to help… Tried to help. Tried to help. Tried to help? “…….”
“I jumped off a Charizard’s back with no assurance that he would dive and catch me,” he stated. “Lizbeth was pissed when she found out— because she knew it was at least in part due to our… last meeting. But…”
A small smile came to Gabe’s lips then. Forced but there. “I won’t ever do that again— because I love Liz more than anything or anyone. Because she… has never once chosen anyone over me. So. I-…. don’t need you to love me.” He turned around, faced Ara, and that forced smile was still there. “I’ve come unstuck. I’m done killing myself over people. Lizbeth was always all that I needed.”
Her eyes were closed, so she hadn't realized he hadn't fully walked away- at least not until her started speaking. She'd... kinda assumed she'd been talking to herself and that he'd gone and fucked off. Her hand froze on Cal's held, tiny pinpricks of electricity dancing at her fingers as Cal's attention turned back to Gabe- of course. Of...
A squeak left her lips, eyes slamming open as he spoke. Unfocused for a minute before she got her bearings. He... jumped off a Charizards back? And it was partially because of... the last meeting?! Hadn't that gone good- at least from what she remembered?! Except after he went to leave after he said... things- but still, why would that make him want to... did that...count as... her shaking started again.
"...you didn't..." Calando tensed her sudden tenseness and attempting to push his head back into her palm, to get her patting again. "T-The last meeting- the fuck went wrong about that?! Everything was... was sorted? I took care of the dance shit, and whatever else..." Her mouth hung open, and she blinked, only just realizing she was crying again.
"So that's why she tried to..." She didn't finish, she only moved to avert her gaze and bring her hands up to her eyes. A hiccuped noise left her lips. Fucking hell- he'd... because partly of her- and... but at least he had Liz- he was smiling, a smile that was too tight at the lips to be real. He said he'd become unstuck, that was probably what had made him stop in his tracks, to defend himself.
"...you f-fucking idiot, Gabe." maybe that was the wrong thing to say, but Arietta didn't care. Her hands almost desperately clutched onto Cal now, who let out a series of soft coos. Fi stayed on her armrest, glaring down Gabe. "b-but at least you've got Liz- who'll never leave you or fucking whatever. P-Pokemon bonds are really...cool, huh?"
And the bit about... choosing people over him- kinda fucking hurt. She had fairly, she had friends- and he expected her to drop them all like hats to live out some stupid fantasy life- friends who cared about her, who were there to help her when things go hard, who'd always had her back and who'll continue to do so- who don't just stand there while she's crying her eyes out.
"Wouldn't it just suck if somebody you loved tried to isolate you... from Liz and from everything you loved- and you didn't realize... u-until the last second, Gabe?" A spiteful smile grew onto her features, and her eyes drew back to his form, "...D-Don't you see how important... those other connections are now- do you at least understand?"
A breath escaped form Gabe. Ara could call him an idiot all she wanted, and he’d take that at least. His hand felt over the smooth Pokeball that belonged to Liz. He wouldn’t have made it without her— over and over and over again. At her spite filled questions, though, his neutral expression fell. “I understand,” he stated flatly.
He understood- he understood. Her smile quickly dissolved and she coughed softly once more. Good. That's... that's good, right? Both her hands moved under her eyes now, to catch stray tears- arceus why does she always cry? That's just stupid. Everythings stupid. "...Good..." she shouldn't dare get up or approach, he was pissed, mad, and hated her guts- that's what was supposed to happen, everything was right and good again- right? Right?
She pitied him. She could tell that now- that... he still had... and with everything else going on. But where she was right now, her situation, everything that'd lead up to this- what was she supposed to do. She'd hurt him as much as she could, and then was left in a state of shock after halloween...
And now she's just here. "...okay..." she said softly, then. "...please don't...try kill yourself again?" voice soft, hands moved through Calando's fur, "Doesn't mean anything coming from me, I get it. I'm partially the reason- and there's nothing I can do or say that can make anything better- i'm just gonna continue making things worse, aren't i?"
Apparently when she's uncomfortable or unsure she rambles, who would have guessed. "I am. I know I am- you don't need my comfort, or my support- you... could go downstairs, there's a pokemon lounge, pamper lizbeth, I don't know- I... need to go to the medbay but i'm not... really gonna leave this seat- I shouldn't." Thinking outloud, her gaze moved to the water, blinking away the last lot of tears. "...It's... it's all my fault...and you've got Senara, and Liz. They're all you need, so..."
