Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
Senara hissed as she pushed the bike she'd been given up the hill, through the few inches of snow to the top. While she could have called on Chanceux to do this, the cold made his steel body feel like a goddamn ice-cube, which was not fun to sit on. She also needed to be able to see around her while doing this. What was she doing precisely? Well, business had been slow at the mines, so she'd gone looking on Pika's List--a site for posting all sorts of ads from furniture to questionable favors--for any odd jobs she could take for money. The holidays were coming up, and she wanted to get something nice for her precious little 'mons. So a trainer who'd been on route for a few days in need of somebody to deliver their mail was a pretty simple task to take. The post office had even been kind enough to give her a bike to make the process easier on her.
That said...it was not fun biking in the snow. She was dressed for it, of course, what kind of moron would be out here in the snow in some frilly shit, and the wheels were chained up and good for riding through the snow. It just...still wasn't great for getting up the hills.
At least she had some help. And by help, she had bribery to get help.
Polochon was behind her, pushing the bike from the back of the seat while she held the handles and pushed as well. Stuck to his head like a particularly cool hat was Neigeux the Snom, chewing on the snow as it fell atop the Snorlax, and in the basket on the front of the bike was Sphorb the Spheal, squeaking and clapping his tiny little fins in delight. She'd only really wanted Polochon's help--he was actually strong enough to move the damn thing and the two other Pokemon were only adding to the weight--but they had both popped out the second it began to snow. Damn Ice types, damn infants. They were too cute for her to scold, too, for breaking free without permission. Damn it to hell.
At the very least, the roads had been clear and seemed to be for the most part clear. There were patches of ice, but even with one eye, you can see and navigate those alright. Keep it up!
Once at the top of the hill, having maneuvered quite well despite the ice and lack of depth perception, Senara breathed a sigh of relief and looked back at Polochon and his fancy icy hat. "Do you want to stay out, or get call if I hit another hill?" She asked, lips curled into a sweet but slightly mocking smile. Polochon looked back up at the snowing sky and then to his trainer with a look of "Bitch, no, it's cold" and she snickered aloud, pulling out his Pokeball and re-absorbing him back into it. Neigeux almost dropped to the ground but she caught him before he could. Not that he noticed. He just resumed his task of nibbling the snow from off her coat instead of Polochon's head. Dumb bug.
"Alright, you sit here then," she set the Snom on her shoulder, which again didn't phase him in the slightest, then threw her leg over the bike. Sphorb barked with excitement and clapped his fins in rapid succession. Senara rolled her eye and patted him on the head. "Yes yes yes. Hold on tight, sweetheart, I haven't ridden one of these in years."
Pushing the pedals with her feet the bike began to roll down the hill, wind and snow rushing past them as her hair fanned out behind her head. She couldn't go full speed since, well, depth perception, but it was still a rush, and still very, very fun.
Rolling down the hill with the slippery snow on the ground, you have to grip those breaks every now and again to not go too fast— but sometimes you keep sliding! Careful there! Nearly crashed into a shrub just now!
Senara slid around a shrub that she swore was farther away than she'd thought it was, the glancing leaves spraying snow onto her and Neigeux and Sphorb alike, but neither of them minded given their typing. Senara, too, wasn't too bothered with her thick winter jacket, but it did get a little shriek when the ice hit her neck. Sphorb barked all louder in response. "I'm being careful! I'm being care--FUL!" She tried to break to avoid a large rock and felt the wheels slide just a little too forward before she stopped, then steered around it to keep going. She brushed the snow away from her neck with her hand before it started melting against her skin. "Alright, looking for some dude out here with a camera! May or may not be frozen at this point if the weather's any indication! Hah!"
Sphorb barked some more in short quick burst, like he was laughing at her joke.
"Thanks, I'll be here all week." She rung the bell on the bike's handle a few times to try to draw some attention to her as she flew down the path. She had to focus on what was ahead of her, but she was glancing around whenever they reached another new part of the path, where trees or rocks may have obscured her vision moments before. Finding this guy better be worth it. The money was nothing to sneeze at but she also didn't want to jostle the babies too much--Sphorb and the eggs in her bag, naturally, Neigeux was as dense as an infant but he was completely grown for a Snom--for some spending Pen.
It's for the holidays, she reminded herself, I want to do something special for them and yourself, and...maybe for some other people, too? Even if it's only something small...
As you roll around, you catch sight of something white— and then it starts to sit up. Arceus is that a Beartic?? What was it doing here and oh Arceus it was chasing after you for some reason now— roaring all the way.
The hill was reaching flatter ground, meaning Senara had to actually start pedaling to keep up her speed, and again was reminded why she didn't do physical labor most of the time. It wasn't painful but it wasn't pleasant when one had the muscle definition of a soggy baguette. Still, nothing but snow drifts and trees and rocks as far as her eye could see. No sign of anything human, let along anything ali--
Did that snow drift just move?
...BEARTIC.
Senara shrieked again, this time not in joy or excitement but in actual straight-up panic. A Beartic?! Oh JUST her luck that she'd run into a giant angry bear in the middle of bum-fuck nowhere! She started pedaling as hard as she could through the snow away from the beast, her heartbeat pounding frantically in her ears. Oh Arceus, she didn't have the time to stop and pull out a ball, and the only two Pokemon she had out were both Ice anyway and too weak to help. She wondered, briefly, if this was why the guy had been away from town for as long as he had: either he knew a Beartic was in the area and was going the long-way-around to avoid it, or he'd been eaten by the thing.
In that case she could totally just feed the letter to the Beartic and call it quits, but...nope. "HEY LOOK I'M GOING ALRIGHT JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!!" She screamed back over her shoulder at the white blur of big, furious fur. She just had to hope she could out-race it, either to lose it completely or to get enough ground to turn and fight!!
The Beartic roared behind her, but as Senara kept moving, it did slow and eventually go back to where it had been laying. Territory, definitely avoid that territory next time. Still, as you keep cycling, the bike hits something, a rock or chunk of ice or something, and immediately twists awkwardly nearly falling right then.

Oh thank Arceus is puttered off again and stayed back once she'd pedaled far enough. Senara's relief didn't last long, though, because she skid into a chunk of ice and twisted in a nasty way, propelling her forward with a thud into an actual snow drift. She didn't crash and she didn't go flying but it still wasn't pleasant. "Arrghhh...ouch..." she grunted and pushed herself off of the snow drift with her arm and foot, "I hate Beartic! They're, like, tied with Bewears for 'worst thing to run into without warning'!" Sphorb, with half his whole head/body embedded into the snow, needed to be pulled out by his flipper. The Snom sat still on her shoulder, unaffected. Sphorb barked excitedly and loudly.
"I'm so glad you had fun," Senara muttered, dusting off Sphorb and putting him back into the front basket of the bicycle. "Because I sure did NOT. Ugh, I'm just going to use Chanceux to tunnel us a way back, I don't care if my knuckles get scrapes. That Beartic was a nightmare..." Sphorb tilted his head--which was, again, his whole body so he just sort of listed to the side--and made a low trilling sound of confusion. She patted him.
"I'm fine, I promise. Let's just find this S.O.B and get out of here, alright, love?" Sphorb barked an affirmative response and nuzzled up into her hand. Neigeux chewed on the snow stuck to her hair from the crash. She pet him as well. Dumb, dumb bug.
